The F-Rank Guild Master Has Too Much Money Chapter 69
A small voice only Choi Tae-hyuk and I could hear. Choi Tae-hyuk’s expression hardened as our eyes met.
“Yes. Please continue monitoring it.”
“Understood. That concludes my report. I’ll take Yun-seo with me tonight.”
“Thank you.”
As Gumiho’s nine tails swayed gently, she left the room. Choi Tae-hyuk swiftly took the documents from my hands.
“You can review these later. Rest for now.”
“No. I’ll review them before resting.”
“These can wait.”
With a firm but gentle touch, Choi Tae-hyuk laid me down like a fragile doll, then carefully arranged the blanket and quilt around me. It was warm and comfortable, but… isn’t this already the beginning of overprotection?
“Please rest. I’ll be back shortly.”
“Where—”
Before I could finish, Choi Tae-hyuk had already slipped out of the room. I heard him calling Gumiho outside.
“Meow meow?”
“No, it’s just because I’m in a human body. I should be fine by tomorrow. There’s no need to worry.”
“Kyuu~”
“Right, right. Thanks.”
I tried to reach out to pet them, but knowing Choi Tae-hyuk would likely stop me if I overdid it, I forced myself to stay still and closed my eyes. Even after sleeping for a while, drowsiness returned—probably because of the medicine.
* * *
“Why did you come out?”
Gumiho, who had been sitting on the sofa waiting for Ji Yun-seo to finish washing up, stood up.
‘Could it be… he’s going to complain about the documents I gave to the Guild Master earlier?’
Regardless of Gumiho’s skeptical look, Choi Tae-hyuk went to the kitchen and handed her a pre-prepared insulated container.
“I noticed Ji Yun-seo had a slight fever earlier. Please give this to her downstairs.”
“Oh my! What is this?”
When she opened the lid, inside was a soft pear—slightly cooled, but still warm.
“Is this baesuk?”
“Yes. I made it because it’s good for colds.”
“You made this yourself? You can even do things like this?”
Gumiho glanced at the kitchen, which was as spotless as it had been that morning.
“I looked it up. I didn’t add any ginger, so she should be able to eat it. Excuse me.”
He gave a polite bow and headed back to the room. Gumiho watched his retreating figure and smiled. To her, Choi Tae-hyuk was an odd one.
She believed both she and An Bom were doing their best to take care of Ji Yeon-woo, but Choi Tae-hyuk went far beyond that—like a loyal dog whose only priority was Ji Yeon-woo.
“Why does he protect him so much?”
“Auntie?”
Gumiho turned toward Ji Yun-seo. She had just finished washing with warm water, her cheeks flushed and plump.
“Too cute, as expected!”
Gumiho scooped up Ji Yun-seo and showered her cheeks with kisses.
“Auntie, stop it~”
“It’s only because you’re so cute.”
Ji Yun-seo protested softly, as if she didn’t entirely mind, but Gumiho didn’t stop her affectionate barrage. Foxes could only have one child in their lifetime.
In Gumiho’s generation, she was an only child. By the time other foxes had offspring, she had already run away from home and never got to meet them.
Perhaps that’s why, the moment she saw Ji Yun-seo, she fell in love instantly. Any prejudice that children were just noisy nuisances vanished completely.
“Stop it~”
“Who’s this cutie? I might die from how cute you are.”
After a satisfying round of kisses, Gumiho set Ji Yun-seo down and glanced toward the bedroom. Choi Tae-hyuk was sitting in a chair beside the bed. Since he wasn’t speaking, it seemed Ji Yeon-woo was asleep.
Vvrrrrr.
The vibration from her pocket prompted Gumiho to pull out her phone. She tilted her head in confusion before answering.
“Yes, this is Gumiho.”
—This is Emelyn Kiyo. How is Yeon-woo’s condition?
“Auntie?”
Gumiho patted Ji Yun-seo’s head, took her hand, and slowly walked toward the gate.
“His fever has gone down a bit, but from the scent, it seems he won’t be able to move until tomorrow.”
—Is he asleep right now?
“Yes.”
—Would it be alright if I brought a healer over now?
For a moment, Gumiho thought she was talking to the ultimate overprotector, Choi Tae-hyuk, then lowered the phone to check the screen.
[The Annoyance Guild – Guild Master Emelyn Kiyo]
‘It really is her?’
As a muffled “hello” came through, Gumiho quickly replied.
“You should ask the Vice Guild Master, not me.”
—Ah, yes.
The call ended abruptly once the matter was settled. Gumiho shrugged. The moment she hung up, she heard a faint ringtone—likely Choi Tae-hyuk answering immediately.
‘Fast. Really fast.’
Shaking her head, Gumiho looked down at Ji Yun-seo and said,
“Let’s go eat.”
“Okay!”
As they passed through the gate, Gumiho thought to herself:
The battle-crazed mad dog Yeon Do-jin, and Emelyn Kiyo—who’s usually quiet but will kill without hesitation if provoked.
And although she hadn’t told Ji Yeon-woo or Choi Tae-hyuk, Jin Se-in, the Sprite Guild Master—this district’s notorious crazy bitch—had expressed interest in meeting Ji Yeon-woo while discussing the dungeon.
And, though she felt bad thinking about it… even Choi Tae-hyuk became a reckless madman when it came to Ji Yeon-woo.
‘Guild Master… is it your fate to attract crazy people?’
* * *
“Good morning~! Hello! I’ve clocked in for the day!”
☆ That Child Is Even a Little Bit Sick has donated 100 Mana Stones. ☆
Despite the strange god giving her extra strength, she stayed cheerful even while sick.
☆ Ahem. has donated 100 Mana Stones. ☆
There’s a saying among humans that youth is painful.
☆ God of Healing has donated 100 Mana Stones. ☆
If you’re sick, you’re a patient—not ‘youth’! What youth?!
“Hi! Have you eaten?”
“No. Hehe.”
“Come here. There’s plenty, so let’s eat together.”
Our guild cafeteria offered Chinese, Korean, and Western cuisine, allowing everyone to choose whatever they preferred. Gumiho and I favored bread, while Choi Tae-hyuk, An Bom, and Ji Yun-seo preferred rice. As a result, every morning the cafeteria served both Western and Korean options—and always in generous portions.
“Well then, I’ll dig in without hesitation.”
Cheerful Kwon Beom-gaun grinned and sat down beside Gumiho.
“Hello, kid.”
“I’m not a kid. I’m Ji Yun-seo.”
At her grumpy reply, Kwon Beom-gaun smiled and ruffled her hair.
“Sorry. You just remind me of my little siblings when they were younger.”
“Do you have siblings?”
“Yes. A younger brother—he’s fourteen.”
“Wow. An older brother.”
Kwon Beom-gaun accepted the food Gumiho passed her and added,
“I’ll introduce you someday. Right now, he’s in the hospital because he’s sick.”
“What’s wrong with him?”
“I don’t know.”
Kwon Beom-gaun gave a lonely smile.
Having grown up in an orphanage and always feeling like second best, Ji Yun-seo recognized that expression and didn’t press further. She quietly began eating.
☆ Previously has donated 100 Mana Stones. ☆
I’ve been thinking—wouldn’t it be possible to find the cause of a child’s illness with clairvoyance?
☆ That’s Right has donated 100 Mana Stones. ☆
Clairvoyance lets you see everything, so of course he should be able to spot it.
Oh!
Come to think of it, with clairvoyance I might actually be able to find the cause. I’ll handle the urgent matters first, then go check on Kwon Beom-gaun’s younger brother.
“Gumiho, about that Chorongcho…”
“Yes.”
“Please secure permission for dungeon exploration.”
“That’s already taken care of. The dungeon has been cleared, so they said you can visit anytime to gather it.”
Anytime? That was more cooperative than I expected.
Guild dungeons aren’t public property—they’re treated as private assets. Normally, you’d need a long and complicated process involving official documents and justifications. That was why it had taken two days to get permission for the Kanghyeon Guild dungeon last time.
“Let’s go together today.”
“Huh? Today?” I asked.
I’d planned to go in two or three days since I’d been sick yesterday. For Choi Tae-hyuk, this was surprisingly early.
“It’s a B-rank dungeon, so it should be fine with just the two of us. Let’s go today.”
“…We’re just picking herbs. I don’t see why we need to go together.”
“You promised to let me accompany you anywhere. Finish your breakfast—we’ll leave in thirty minutes.”
With that, Choi Tae-hyuk left the table.
“Didn’t you two make up yesterday?”
“We didn’t fight badly enough to need ‘making up.’ We just raised our voices a little.”
“Then why are you avoiding his eyes?”
Haha, why indeed? Because I suddenly remembered the slip of the tongue I’d managed to forget…
Swallowing the secret I couldn’t share, I held back my tears and stood up.
“Eat some more before you go!”
“I don’t have much appetite. Oh, right—Kwon Beom-gaun, clean up your place and come stay at my house.”
“Eh?”
Kwon Beom-gaun, who had been eating with her face buried in her bowl, looked up in surprise. I brushed a grain of rice off her cheek and continued,
“You said you live alone. A young girl shouldn’t be living by herself without an adult around. Come stay with us—there are plenty of empty rooms.”
“Oh, no, I can manage on my own.”
“You’re good at studying, right? You can tutor our Ji Yun-seo a bit. Next year, she’ll be starting school with you.”
The Hunter High School I’d founded wasn’t aimed at college prep, so the schedule was flexible.
“You mentioned it’s far from here, right? Once your brother is discharged, it’ll be easier if you’re closer to him.”
“That’s true, but…”
Kwon Beom-gaun, clearly soft when it came to her sibling, wavered.
I ruffled her hair and said, “Then it’s settled. Later, we can go visit your brother together.”
“Yes, that’s fine, but moving in is a bit…”
“Didn’t you notice the clause in the contract that says ‘The Guild Master’s word is law’?”
“Wha?!”
Kwon Beom-gaun’s face instantly went pale. She must have been so excited about becoming a Hunter—and happy that her sibling had been transferred to S Hospital—that she hadn’t read the contract properly or listened carefully to Gumiho’s explanations.
I’d meant it as a joke, but—
“Hey! Don’t sign contracts anywhere without reading them! You’re way too easy to fool! A total pushover!”
At my outburst, Ji Yun-seo tugged on An Bom’s clothes.
“Auntie, what’s a pushover?”
“…Hmm.”
An Bom looked flustered by the question and gestured toward Gumiho.
“I’m not really sure. It must be some kind of technical term. Should we ask Aunt Miho over there?”
“Oh my, why drag me into this!”
Gumiho, equally flustered, avoided Ji Yun-seo’s sparkling eyes and shot me a look full of blame.
‘Oh my, scary.’
Maybe it was prejudice against the “gumiho” race, but her glare seemed laced with resentment. I quickly changed the subject.
“Gumiho, if you’re done eating, come with me to the storage—”
“I’m done! Ji Yun-seo, I’ll look that word up and explain it to you later, okay?”
“Okay!”
Even while avoiding my gaze, Gumiho responded politely and hurried toward the gate. I turned and said,
“An Bom, I know you’re tired, but please help Beom-gaun move. Reserve the largest room. When her sibling is discharged, they’ll need to share a room for a while.”
“Yes, I’ll take care of it.”
With An Bom’s cheerful reply behind me, I stepped onto the gate with Gumiho already waiting.
“How many Mana Stones do we have left?”
“Most of them were sold when the market price peaked last time.”
“About a third remaining?”
“Yes. Probably around a million.”
“Then I need to restock.”
On the fourth floor of the guild, there was a section with stricter security than anywhere else—the Mana Stone warehouse, where stones granted by the gods were stored. After passing four layers of authentication, we entered the warehouse. It had been fully stocked the last time I’d been here, but now it was nearly empty.
I sat in the corner and opened my inventory. Inside, Mana Stones were piled endlessly. According to the document Gumiho had given me about the Chorongcho, the herb wilts quickly, and its effects are halved once wilted.
I decided it would be better to uproot the entire plant and store it in my inventory rather than harvest it delicately. That meant I needed to clear out the stacked Mana Stones first.
“Oh… when am I ever going to take all this out again?”
Since it was a personal inventory, no one else could access it. Letting out a sigh, I began pulling out the Mana Stones one by one, in bundles of a thousand.
☆ What We Gave has donated 100 Mana Stones. ☆
Wow, that’s a lot of Mana Stones. Kind of satisfying to look at, isn’t it?
☆ Sell That has donated 100 Mana Stones. ☆
Our Aether can buy delicious food, purchase dungeons, and even armor now. This god is happy.
I only ever handled Mana Stones when it was just Gumiho and me. I’d mechanically pull them out while she carried and organized them. After a couple of sessions, we could do it smoothly without exchanging a word.
“Guild Master?”
While I was pulling them out, Choi Tae-hyuk—who had likely come looking for me since I hadn’t come down yet—shifted his gaze between Gumiho and me. His face was filled with disbelief. He looked like he was about to say something, but Gumiho spoke first.
“You’re here? Perfect timing—can you give us a hand with this?”
