“Really?”

“Yeah. Go get the discharge process done.”

Half in doubt, half in hope, Kwon Beom-gaun headed off to handle the discharge, with Choi Tae-hyuk following closely behind.

I sat down on a spare chair, my mind turning to the seal on Kwon Beom-yeoun’s heart.

‘Why had this child’s soul been sealed?’

☆ It Was a Seal After All has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

No wonder something felt off. I could barely sense the soul.

☆ If There’s No Soul has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

Humans aren’t particularly special as a race, yet a soul seal? That must have been intense.

As the gods had said, humans are created by placing a soul into a body. When a human’s lifespan ends and the soul returns to the underworld, the body reverts to its original form—essentially, it becomes earth again.

Sealing something as crucial as a soul happens in only two cases:

  1. When someone committed a grave sin in a previous life and needed punishment.
  2. Or, like Ji Yun-seo or Emelyn Kiyo, to hide exceptional beings so other gods wouldn’t target them.

However, soul sealing is far more complex than it sounds—it’s not done lightly. In Kwon Beom-yeoun’s case, with specific conditions and a triple seal, an enormous amount of divine power would have been required.

“Hmm… what are you?”

At least the fortunate part was that the first seal could be lifted with divine power.

Because the soul had been sealed so deeply that it couldn’t reach the body, Kwon Beom-yeoun had collapsed from being unable to endure it.

If only the first seal were removed, he might not fully recover immediately, but he should at least be able to open his eyes.

“We’ve finished the paperwork.”

“Then let’s go.”

Just as Kwon Beom-gaun, having quickly changed her sibling out of the hospital gown, was about to lift him, Choi Tae-hyuk stepped in first and picked up the child.

“I can carry him.”

“It’s fine.”

“Yeah. Let the strong man carry him.”

☆ Strong Man has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

Heh. A strong man, huh.

☆ That God Just Now has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

Why are you so fixated on that?

Sticking close to Choi Tae-hyuk as he moved carefully, Kwon Beom-gaun couldn’t take her eyes off her younger sibling, Kwon Beom-yeoun.

When they reached the car, Kwon Beom-gaun got in first, and Choi Tae-hyuk gently laid Kwon Beom-yeoun down.

“Thank you!”

Kwon Beom-gaun cheerfully thanked him, and Choi Tae-hyuk lightly tapped her head before heading to the driver’s seat. His neck and ears turned red—he was embarrassed.

I chuckled quietly and got into the passenger seat.

The car moved even more carefully than usual, as if to make sure Kwon Beom-yeoun wouldn’t get hurt.

Looking down at her sibling in her arms with the most loving gaze, Kwon Beom-gaun asked,

“What do you mean by a way to cure him?”

“First, my power.”

“What do you mean by that?”

As Choi Tae-hyuk turned his head at a red light, I explained,

“I tried using a skill just in case.”

“Is my sibling a Hunter too? Is that why he’s sick?”

“No, he’s not a Hunter.”

“Then what is it?”

“Well… it’s a bit complicated to explain, but among Hunter items, some can suppress a Hunter’s power, right?”

“Yes.”

Explaining the soul to humans would take too long, so I gave a simplified version.

“Similarly, there’s something inside your sibling’s body that’s preventing him from getting better. We have to remove it.”

Kwon Beom-gaun looked at me, silently asking what I meant, so I calmly explained what I had observed and the conditions needed to lift the seal.

“Then… does that mean my sibling can live now?”

“To some extent.”

“Why ‘to some extent’?”

Leaning back in the passenger seat, I answered,

“To completely remove the blockage, we need materials dropped by monsters.”

“What kind of monsters?”

“For the second stage, Tarejisang. For the third, Arcana.”

Choi Tae-hyuk swallowed hard. Not knowing anything, Kwon Beom-gaun asked,

“Why? Are they monsters you can’t defeat?”

“They’re both monsters that have only appeared once, in an SS-rank dungeon in Canada. They’re already difficult to kill, but the bigger problem is that they don’t respawn easily, even in that dungeon.”

“Ah…”

After parking in the guild’s underground lot, Choi Tae-hyuk carefully picked Kwon Beom-yeoun up again.

Kwon Beom-gaun watched her sibling being carried, her shoulders slumping. It seemed the brief hope she had felt had already faded.

“Someone out there should have those materials. I’ll ask Gumiho to help get them, so don’t lose hope.”

☆ Yeah, We’ll Help Too! has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

I’ll see if I can give you one!

☆ Among My Materials has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

I should check if I have it. For a child who received my power, what couldn’t I obtain?

☆ The Blacksmith God has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

If I step in, we might find it immediately!

“Yes.”

Patting Kwon Beom-gaun’s slumped shoulders, I followed Choi Tae-hyuk up to the house.

The people who had been getting ready to go to the department store widened their eyes in surprise when we walked in with a patient.

“Did something happen at S Hospital?”

“No. I figured out the cause myself.”

After watching Choi Tae-hyuk lay Kwon Beom-yeoun on Kwon Beom-gaun’s bed, I went to the living room and explained the situation.

“Both of those materials are going to be difficult to obtain.”

“I don’t care how much it costs—please get them.”

“I’ll pitch in my money too.”

I flicked Kwon Beom-gaun on the forehead for spouting nonsense and walked over to Kwon Beom-yeoun.

“Shall I heal you?”

An Bom, unable to stop me from using my power to treat Kwon Beom-gaun’s sibling, reached out her hand.

“No, it’s okay. I’ll only use a little.”

“Are you sure you’ll be all right?”

“Yes, I’ll be fine.”

The first seal I had briefly sensed was weak enough to break with just a small amount of force—I only needed to channel a bit of my power.

“Mister…”

I ruffled Kwon Beom-gaun’s hair as she spoke through her tears.

“Don’t cry, silly. I might get attached.”

Kwon Beom-gaun laughed through her tears at my words.

Without another word, I carefully reached toward Kwon Beom-yeoun, who lay motionless. A cold energy brushed against my fingertips, as if his body could barely hold on.

“Meow.”

“It’s okay. I can handle it on my own.”

I shook my head at Bia, who tried to return the power she had received from me, and gently sent divine power into Kwon Beom-yeoun.

The power flowed through his veins and reached his heart, just as before. I could sense the seal—it was like a cracked glass barrier, ready to shatter at any moment.

‘If he’s Kwon Beom-gaun’s sibling, does he have a similar personality?’

Imagining the siblings chirping at me made me smile. Breaking the first seal wasn’t difficult.

All I had to do was wrap the seal in divine power and locate the keyhole that would unlock it. Since the key itself was divine power, it wasn’t a hard task.

As I fully enveloped the seal around his heart with divine power, I spotted a tiny keyhole—no larger than the tip of Ji Yun-seo’s pinky nail.

“Found it.”

I pushed a bit more power into the keyhole.

—Crack!

A sound no one else could hear, but one that rang clearly in my ears—the seal had broken.

As the seal vanished and the soul returned, Kwon Beom-yeoun’s breathing steadied. To be sure the seal was fully broken, I used Clairvoyance again.

‘Clairvoyance.’

– Seal placed with life as collateral; if not lifted, he will die.

– Conditions to lift the seal:

  • Stage 1: Power of a god (Complete)
  • Stage 2: Feather of Tarejisang
  • Stage 3: Heart of Arcana

Time limit to lift the seal: 4,200 hours]

Through Clairvoyance, I saw that not only had the first seal been lifted, but the available time limit seemed to have reset. The hidden information, however, remained unchanged.

Maybe everything will be revealed once all the seals are removed.

After staring out the window for a moment, I turned to the others, who were watching with worried eyes, and called Kwon Beom-gaun.

“It’s done.”

Her hands had been trembling, and she looked at me in disbelief.

I chuckled softly and gestured to her. Hesitantly, she approached, and I placed Kwon Beom-yeoun’s hand into hers.

Feeling his body temperature—once colder than normal—warm like Ji Yun-seo’s, Kwon Beom-gaun began to cry.

“Th-the seal… it’s lifted?”

“Just like I said earlier, this is only the first stage. But even so, his soul can now influence his body, so he should regain consciousness.”

Clutching my shirt, Kwon Beom-gaun—normally so outspoken—broke down into loud sobs.

“It’s a good thing, so why are you crying?”

“I-I’m just… so… happy…”

“Let’s remove the remaining seals once we get the materials.”

Whether she heard me or not, Kwon Beom-gaun only nodded vigorously while crying, unable to respond.

“That’s a relief.”

“Yeah. Thank goodness.”

Seeing her cry, Gumiho and An Bom wiped away their own tears. Even Choi Tae-hyuk’s eyes were red, as if he might cry too.

‘Am I the only one not crying?’

“I think he’s waking up.”

At An Bom’s words, I looked over.

Kwon Beom-yeoun’s long eyelashes trembled faintly.

“Yeoun?”

As if responding to Kwon Beom-gaun, his lashes fluttered again, and his eyes slowly opened.

“Yeoun!!”

Kwon Beom-gaun pulled him into a tight embrace.

“Noona… don’t cry… I’m… okay.”

“Thank goodness. I’m so glad.”

Still sobbing, Kwon Beom-gaun was gently patted on the back by Kwon Beom-yeoun, who struggled to move. Then he lifted his head and looked at me.

There was something strangely familiar about his gaze.

‘That look… where have I seen it before…’

“Uncle.”

At the voice calling from the side, I turned.

Ji Yun-seo, who had been holding Kero, had set him down and was reaching toward me.

“What is it, Yun-seo?”

“Uncle, hold me.”

Since it was unusual for her to act so spoiled, I picked up Ji Yun-seo and went into the study, settling into a chair.

Kero followed us but paused at the doorway, sitting as if on guard.

I patted Ji Yun-seo’s head while her eyes darted around.

“What is it, Yun-seo?”

“Well…”

“Yeah?”

“Can I sleep with you tonight?”

I had expected her to ask about something, maybe monsters like Kero or Leo, but this request was completely unexpected.

Ever since she got her own room, she had been sleeping well on her own. On days I was sick or went into a dungeon, she would sleep with Gumiho or An Bom—so why the sudden request?

I almost asked why, but it felt like she might not want to answer, so I simply nodded.

“Sure. Let’s sleep together tonight.”

Ji Yun-seo’s eyes widened in surprise.

It seemed she hadn’t expected me to agree so easily.

“If Yun-seo wants to sleep with me, then I will. What’s the problem?”

“Really?”

“Yeah. Saphi and Bia are going to the dungeon today, so they won’t be around. Let’s sleep together.”

At my words, Ji Yun-seo’s face lit up with a bright smile.

“Can I bring Kero and Leo too?”

“Let’s bring Cloud and Mango as well—everyone can sleep together.”

When it came to resting, I was a bit greedy—so I made my bed as spacious as the one I used in the divine realm. There was plenty of room for everyone.

Excited, Ji Yun-seo stomped her feet, and Kero, who had been lingering in front of the study, came inside.

“Woof!”

“Arf!”

“Grrr.”

As each of Kero’s three heads made a sound, Ji Yun-seo burst into giggles, slipped from my arms, and hopped down to the floor.

“Is that enough now?”

“Yeah!”

Seeing Kero about to breathe out sulfur for some reason, I told Ji Yun-seo to go outside and play.

Watching her scamper off with quick little steps, I tapped my fingers on the desk and spoke.

“Does any god know anything about that child?”

☆ No has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

Why? Is something wrong? Other than the seal, nothing seems unusual.

☆ Why? has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

Is there something wrong with you, Aether?

It wasn’t a problem—it was more like a strange sense of familiarity in his gaze.

‘Am I just being overly sensitive?’

Tilting my head, I turned to the documents that Gumiho had probably left behind.

The guild operation reports weren’t important since they were just summaries, so I skipped over them and picked up the ones related to the school. That’s when it happened.

“Guild Master!!”

At Gumiho’s scream, I dropped the papers I was holding and rushed into the living room. Everyone—including Kwon Beom-gaun, who had been holding her brother—was already gathered there.

‘A flowerpot?’

They were all huddled in a circle, staring at a flowerpot.

“Guild Master! The flower is about to bloom!”

“What?”

Turning my head, I saw the bud—which had been tightly closed just moments ago—had started to open slightly.

“Blue?”

I tilted my head. The one who had given me the seed, Plarin, had been holding a dandelion bud.

‘Even the pollen was yellow…so why is it blue?’

“It’s opening!”

The flower slowly bloomed, but its shape was unusual. The petals, which should have been thin and delicate, were thick. At the center was a round pistil. And on that pistil—

“Wow! It’s a fairy!”

There was Plarin, curled up. Startled awake by Ji Yun-seo’s voice, Plarin twitched, stretched, and gave a small shake.

Plarin’s long blue hair fell softly, and the wings attached to her back spread open. Though transparent, her butterfly-like wings unfurled, and Plarin slowly opened her eyes.
