The Only Woman in a Zombie Apocalypse Vol. 1 Chapter 34 - Humans are scarier than zombies (1)
Dayoung was truly grateful for their thoughtfulness.
They could have easily brushed her off as a nuisance and refused to bring her along, but she never imagined they would go so far as to make protective gear just for her.
“Thank you… It’s really light and comfortable.”
“Right? It’s made from the softest yet toughest leather, so even if a zombie bites, it won’t budge. But don’t take that as an excuse to charge in recklessly.”
“Got it!”
Gripping the baseball bat firmly in both hands, Dayoung followed the group. Though the path seemed safe, the party moved cautiously, surrounding her just in case.
After about an hour and a half of walking, they spotted the fast-food restaurant mentioned in the novel.
Among countless fast-food joints, the fact that this one had a name in the story was a stroke of luck. Whether in reality or here, fast-food restaurants were everywhere you looked.
“Over there—it was behind that area.”
Dayoung pointed to a spot without barricades, and the group moved forward as quietly as possible, scanning their surroundings. When they reached the back of the fast-food place, Dayoung looked to the right.
There wasn’t a building directly to the right, but part of a large structure was obscured.
Yet, there it was—a wide building, just as described on the map, glowing in bright orange.
“That’s weird. We definitely came this way earlier. How did we miss it?”
“Right… We even checked behind here before…”
The group was baffled.
The building was clearly visible now. But earlier that morning, they had combed through this area following the map.
Listening to their confusion, Dayoung fell deep into thought. In the original story, the group discovered this place three months later.
There was no way they could have missed such an obvious building.
Yet, there was no reason for them to lie about something like this.
What in the world was going on?
Dayoung’s appearance had already deviated from the original plot, and zombies had invaded. But the five who were supposed to die were still alive.
On their own, the group hadn’t been able to find the building, but when Dayoung joined them, it suddenly appeared. Because Dayoung was aware of the building’s existence, it couldn’t stay hidden.
As Dayoung and the group headed toward the large building, her mind was in turmoil.
But the immediate reality was more pressing, so she followed the others, gathering small items and stuffing them into her bag.
Soon, both her backpack and the others’ were filled to the brim.
Except for the three assigned to guard duty, everyone carried armfuls of metal and wooden boards as they moved.
Upon returning to the mall, the group reinforced the broken doors first.
Since darkness was falling, they only had time to prop up the wooden panels.
The next day, they layered on metal and even added sponge padding, finishing the work late into the night.
Exhausted from their busiest day in a long time, the group collapsed into deep sleep.
Dayoung, however, sat at a desk and opened her journal. She began writing down every detail she could remember, no matter how trivial.
〈Late June – Three men crash in / Attacked / No deaths
Late July – Three foreigners arrive
Early August – Discovered a bottled water store an hour east
Late September – Electrical issues arise. (Unable to repair due to lack of tools. No power except on 1st and 3rd floors) ― Resolved by finding tools in early July
Early September – Rescued four women from the west
Late September – Built barricades one hour away in all directions
Early October – Found a hardware store (originally discovered in early July)
Mid-November – Attacked
Early December – Discovered a department store two hours west
Late December – Built barricades two hours away in all directions
Mid-January – Harsh winter brings hardship
Late February – Found a grocery warehouse two and a half hours east (discovered instant food)
Late March – Scouting team goes east, barricade collapses, two injured in attack
Mid-May – Food supplies run low
Early June – Relocated to Gangwon Province〉
Dayoung double-checked the sparse details.
While she clearly remembered the major events, most of the smaller ones had slipped her mind.
Even after racking her brain repeatedly, nothing came back.
Zombieverse begins with the appearance of zombies and Ian’s group meeting each other. The story spanned over 350 chapters, chronicling the group’s day-to-day lives.
‘No. Kim Dayoung. Be grateful you can remember even this much. Possessed characters often forget the original story over time, but that’s not the case for you.’
In fact, the memories grow sharper as key events approach.
‘We’ll handle the small stuff as it comes.’
Dayoung comforted herself with these words, lay down on the bed, and fell asleep instantly. The next morning, she helped prepare breakfast as usual.
Aside from the two scouts, everyone had gathered.
Before Dayoung arrived, the group had split into two for meals, but now only the two scouts ate separately.
Despite their exhaustion from the previous day, the group was lively and boisterous.
“You’re all full of energy this early in the morning?”
“Noona, what we did yesterday wasn’t even close to the hard stuff. When we first got here and hunted zombies, it was literally life-threatening.”
“Really? I’m glad no one’s struggling, then.”
“The scouts aren’t heading out today, so we’ll be working together all day. It’ll go faster than you think.”
The group decided to finish reinforcing the side doors first before heading out to gather more materials.
After one breach, they couldn’t just leave things as they were.
“Wait, has it already been a week since our party?”
“Not yet. Today marks a week.”
“Ah. So… we’re having the party today?”
“??”
‘Party? What party? Oh!’
Dayoung didn’t immediately grasp what they were talking about.
Even in the middle of all this, they were thinking about a party.
These guys were truly something. The group exchanged glances, eyeing Dayoung slyly as they chatted among themselves.
“Just say it outright… So we’re having a party tonight, right?”
“Oh yeah! I feel like I can really work hard today!”
“Noona. I’m totally looking forward to it.”
“Come on, I missed the party last week because I was on scouting duty. Let’s take turns.”
After the meal, the scouting team gathered among themselves to discuss the rotation.
That day, everyone worked together all day to reinforce the doors.
Layering sturdy metal and attaching sponge padding. With all 14 members, including Dayoung, working on it—except for the two scouts—the door reinforcements finished earlier than expected.
“Alright, let’s wash up, eat dinner, and get ready for the party!!”
“Woo-hoo!!!”
At Ian’s shout, the group cheered and threw their hands up in excitement.
Under their eager gazes, the meal passed, and Dayoung found herself lost in thought as she laid out outfits in the sex room.
“Why does a week feel like it flies by so fast?”
Both the see-through nurse outfit and the maid dress had open backsides—meaning her butt would be completely exposed.
In the end, Dayoung chose a cheongsam-style dress. If she had to do this every week anyway, she’d end up wearing these clothes at some point.
Future Dayoung, hang in there.
Dayoung put on the cheongsam. At first glance, it didn’t seem too risqué, but once she wore it, it was downright scandalous.
The dress had no seams, opening diagonally from the neckline all the way down to the hem.
As she adjusted the prepared ties along the way, her ample chest and hips became exposed. Her chest was barely contained—if she moved wrong, her nipples might peek through the gap in the fabric.
Meanwhile, her thighs and pelvis were on full display, along with her string panties. The silk fabric covering her crotch was soft but felt strange.
“Good grief, I’ve been tricked. Still, this is better than showing my butt, right? Or is showing my butt better than my nipples? Ugh… I don’t know.”
Just as she considered changing, there was a knock on the sex room door.
“Noona, are you dressed? Can I come in?”
“Huh? Uh, yeah.”
Dohun walked in, swinging a small pouch in his hand.
Then, whistling at Dayoung’s appearance, he circled around her once.
The phrase ‘more tantalizing than complete nudity’ probably referred to something like this—the teasing glimpses of her chest and thighs making Dohun clap his hands in delight.
“Wow~ Noona, you’re killing it again today? So sexy! Showing just enough. As expected, you really know what you’re doing. Everyone’s gonna love it.”
“Really? Isn’t it too much?”
“That’s what makes it great. The ‘good wolves’ would go crazy if they saw this.”
“By the way, what’s that in your hand?”
“Ah, this? A prize draw.”
“A draw?”
Dohun opened the pouch and spilled its contents onto the bed. The long wooden pieces looked just like Jenga blocks.
“Jenga?”
“Yeah. I made prizes using the Jenga set from the comic café.”
“??”
Curious about the word ‘prizes,’ Dayoung moved closer and picked one up, turning it over in her hands.
After reading ‘5 minutes of butt-groping under clothes’ written on one of the blocks, she clicked her tongue.
Then, picking up another, she looked at Dohun and said, “Is this really all you ever think about?”
“Hey, it’s not just me. Why do you always make me out to be the only pervert? Here, this is the list. Just say if there’s anything you don’t wanna do.”
