Bought an island! 3 years ago? (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧]
I need to organize this.
When I placed my father’s necklace on the note written in childish language, it neatly rearranged itself like a puzzle being solved.
[Doctor’s name on Blue Lagoon: Giyet
Not much is known about him. He bought an island 3 years ago. Rumor has it he’s incredibly wealthy…(omitted)]
Now I had information about the doctor residing on ‘Blue Lagoon’. However, using this information was a matter entirely different.
I can’t act openly. I’ll need someone else’s help. At least as long as I’m in the Kalinos family, and as long as I have to follow his orders, I need to stay as ‘incompetent Giselle.’ But there’s no one to help me.
I clenched my father’s necklace. I may not have people, but I do have a disguise magic tool. In that case, I’ll just become someone else entirely.
Finally, the time had come to make full use of my father’s legacy, the disguise artifact necklace. Tonight’s the night. Let’s do this!

In the dead of night, left alone in his bedroom, Duke Kalinos stared at the empty space beside him on the bed.
Giselle has disappeared.
Before leaving, Giselle had indeed left a small note.
[To my employer. Due to personal reasons, I will be taking emergency leave. I plan to return within half a day!]
She’s never been neglectful in her duties, so it’s understandable.
Duke Kalinos placed the note she had left on the nightstand and lay back down in an orderly manner. In his current routine, he needed exactly 6 hours and 33 minutes of deep sleep each day. However… He opened his eyes, unlike his usual habit.
“My wife is having an affair! What should I do?”
“Be quiet.”
“Sniff, sob. My wife… No wonder. She leaves the bedroom every dawn. I-I really c-can’t l-live like this…”
Today, of all days, the face of his vassal, who had been miserably sobbing and sniffling in front of him, came to mind.
“It seems she had an affair while I was frequently away from the mansion. Sob, sob.”
“Get out.”
Recalling the conversation with his vassal, Duke Kalinos thought. When the wife leaves the bedroom at dawn and the husband is frequently away from the mansion, the likelihood of an affair increases.
I, too, will have to leave the capital soon and visit the territory.
He had received the alarming news that a giant monster had attacked the northern territory. Of course, there had been no significant losses, and his excellent soldiers had defended the territory, but as the owner, he had to inspect it to confirm. It was something that had happened often before, and so he had never worried about leaving the mansion. However, the thought of leaving Giselle behind at the mansion worried him…
No. I mustn’t worry and just sleep. For tomorrow’s schedule.
Duke Kalinos closed his eyes again. There wasn’t any significant issue with his sleep. Just a bit of tossing and turning and a hint of insomnia had been added.

It was in the small village of Blue Lagoon, where hat makers gathered as they faced their end. The incurable disease known as ‘Black,’ which only afflicted those who made hats, had taken away the happiness and lives of many people. Countless artisans died without even knowing why they had to die. Among them, Melina, an elderly woman nearing eighty, was coughing up blood daily as her end drew near.
“Grandma! Are you okay?”
“My dear grandson, Giyet. Cough, cough!”
“Grandma!”
Seeing his grandmother lose consciousness after a long bout of coughing, Giyet’s eyes welled up with tears.
Despite wearing worn-out clothes herself, she always made sure her grandson had warm clothes. She was a precious grandmother to him. To Giyet, she was someone beyond words like ‘cherished.’
With trembling hands, Giyet gently brushed back the white hair of the eighty-year-old woman and murmured. “Please don’t be in pain, Grandma.”
“Oh, my dear child…”
Even in her sleep-talking, her concern for him was evident, and he couldn’t help but let out a sorrowful sigh.
“You must stay healthy for a long time. I’ll go gather more herbs.” He quietly placed the medicine down, careful not to wake her, and stood up.
As he thought of the herbs planted in the garden and opened the door to step outside, a woman with honey-colored bobbed hair stood at the gate, waving at him.
“Hello?”
“Who could this be? Oh, perhaps someone in need of treatment?”
“No, it’s not for my treatment.”
“Then I’m busy right now.” He flashed a friendly smile. He needed to quickly get his grandmother’s medicine and couldn’t afford any delays.
Just then, the woman smiled brightly and said, “You’re a doctor, right?”
“In this village, yes, but my skills aren’t much to boast about.”
“Hmm, if I call you ‘the mad billionaire doctor, Giyet,’ would you talk to me?” In her hand was a note listing his personal details.
[A wealthy doctor who purchased <Blue Lagoon.> Came to find <rare herbs> that were only grown in <Blue Lagoon>. Entered the island by himself three years ago to save his grandmother, but unfortunately, he has long since spent all his money.]
At that moment, Giyet’s expression turned rigid.

Delek Giyet. He was more famous for his nickname, the ‘eccentric billionaire doctor,’ than his real name. Orphaned, he’d grown up in an orphanage, always saving money.
One day, he was reunited with the only family he had left. His grandmother, Melina, owned and operated a hat shop in a remote village. With a newfound purpose in life, Giyet used all the money he’d saved to buy a title and a small territory, so he could live happily with his grandmother. It seemed like it was finally in reach, but then…
“It’s incurable.”
“What do you mean? Why my grandma?!”
“You know the illness that strikes only hat makers? Their mana circuits get completely clogged and messed up.”
“Why would only hat makers suffer from blocked mana circuits!”
“I have no idea. Giyet, you’re a doctor, shouldn’t you know?”
He had spent his own money to bring in other doctors, but they were all incompetent. At one point, a wrong prescription nearly cost his grandmother her life.
Having lost trust in people, he became a reclusive doctor, confined to the island he had already purchased, solely focused on researching his grandmother’s illness. Three years passed like that. He thought that people were gradually forgetting his name.
“I’ve forgotten that name now. What kind of doctor can’t even save one family member?”
“Lord Giyet.”
“Whatever your reason for being here, go back. I’m content to remain hidden away in the wilderness. There are far greater doctors out there, so seek them.”
He didn’t know what story had brought her here. But he no longer wanted to live as a doctor. He felt unworthy of the title, having failed to cure his grandmother.
When grandma passes away, I’ll remain here with her, buried in solitude.
Turning away from the woman with honey-colored hair, he closed the door and headed toward the ridge. He needed to gather the herbs he had planted on the ridge to ease his grandmother’s suffering. Thankfully, the woman didn’t follow him. If she can take a hint, she’ll give up and leave.
With a deep sigh, Giyet walked through the morning dew, collecting herbs from the Blue Lagoon mountains. For now, these herbs were the only solution.
Maybe wanting Grandma to live is just my selfishness.
Those with Black disease gradually have their blood turn black, then die, coughing up blood. The herbs he was gathering could only alleviate the pain; they couldn’t cure the disease.
It’s definitely poison, but I have no idea what kind, or how to detoxify it… Clenching his teeth, he continued to gather the herbs with a stoic expression. For now, all he could do was buy a little more time.
On his way back after collecting dozens of herbs,
“W-What is this?”
The front gate of the house was wide open, as if a thief had broken in. The familiar sound of his grandmother’s wheezing cough, which always greeted him, was absent.
For victims of Black disease, when their coughing stops, that only means death. No way, grandma… Gripped by a sense of foreboding, Giyet rushed inside.
