“What nonsense are you saying!”

Krius huffed for no reason.

“Huh. You’re right? Why is your face color like that?”

When I looked at him in fascination, Krius backed away in disgust.

“D-Don’t come near me!”

“…Eh?”

“Sir Krius. Since when did you start acting so bashful around the wraith without my knowing?”

“Ugh…”

Adolf observed Krius closely.

“Forget it. I came to see if there was anything I could help with, and you’re just spouting nonsense.”

“Could it be that you….”

As if he realized something, Adolf looked back and forth between Krius and me.

“Don’t tell me the evil spirit looks different to you?”

At Adolf’s words, I looked at Krius and observed his reaction. Krius still avoided my gaze.

“You… don’t tell me it’s true?”

“Evil spirit. Did you happen to see Sir Krius’s expression when he approached?”

“I didn’t see it. He came from behind me.”

“I saw it. I saw Sir Krius leisurely flying over from afar. The moment he spotted you, his jaw dropped.”

Krius waved his arms and strongly denied it, seemingly quite flustered.

“D-Don’t say such nonsense!”

“Boys, come here.”

At Adolf’s command, the swords of the Ghost Knights Order came down from the air. The hilts of the swords stroked Krius’s shoulders as if patting him.

“I understand how you feel. But the evil spirit is already taken.”

“What is this! I’m telling you to put them away!”

It was amusing to see Krius being teased. I remembered the confident words I once said to Krius, ‘What are you going to do if you fall for my true appearance?’.

“Forget it. I’ll be going.”

Krius, looking annoyed, turned back the way he came. As he did, he glanced back one last time to gauge my reaction. When our eyes met, Krius was startled out of his wits.

“Look at him, look at him. He can’t even compose himself, can he?”

“I thought it was a joke… Was it real?”

“Yeah. It’s not a good sign for the Young Master to have more rivals.”

Adolf said worriedly.

“Eyy. It couldn’t be to that extent. He was probably just surprised because my appearance changed, something like that.”

“Tsk… Did you even look at his eyes properly, my goodness. It didn’t feel like that at all.”

Even though Adolf said that, I wasn’t too worried. Of course, I had examined my own outward appearance carefully when I traveled through time. So I admit that part, but…

“Just leave him be.”

“Leave him be, my foot. I’ll have to wait and see what he does. Evil spirit, you haven’t forgotten that you were almost done in by him, have you?”

“No way. What could that petty guy possibly do? He’ll probably just end up with his pride hurt, that’s all.”

A few days passed like that. Contrary to my expectations, Krius Harper’s attitude became increasingly serious. Since that day, his behavior was gradually changing every time we met.

“Lady. If you would forget my past mistakes…”

“Suddenly? Have you completely lost your mind?”

“….”

I ignored him lightly. Because it was an opportunity to very simply pay him back for almost annihilating me.

*   *   *

Since things got awkward over the topic of his left eye last time, I couldn’t see Basileon at all.

‘Don’t tell me he actually came to hate me…’

The more I thought about it, the more my mind reached a bad conclusion. So I just decided to forget about it. I believed he would naturally appear as time passed. If I really triggered his trauma, going to see him first would also be a cautious matter.

‘I’ll help the survivors for the time being and look for my body. Eventually, we’ll run into each other.’

Whoosh—. So today, too, I flew to the survivors. Just in time, the four survivors had solved the last puzzle and found the entrance to the prison. For me, I couldn’t miss this scene. Click—. Havel, who had the key, opened all the prison doors. The countless survivors who had been locked up poured out of the vast prison of the Duke’s castle.

“Thank you, thank you…”

“Are we finally free?”

“Yes, we’re freed! From this wretched Ravenwood den!”

Once the prison doors are opened, the first half of the game ends. As the imprisoned survivors were released, the territory became lively for the first time in a while. The nobles invited under the pretext of Basileon’s birthday banquet. The aides who followed them. And the residents of the territory living in the Duchy all escaped the prison and rushed out of the Duke’s castle. The four survivors watched this sight in bewilderment.

“…I feel like there are more people to help us.”

Mary murmured as if talking to herself. It was definitely a good thing, but it was strange that she didn’t look very happy.

“It’s a good thing. Why do you say it so gloomily?”

“….”

However, Mary didn’t answer my question and ran to Havel. In the first place, I haven’t had a proper conversation with Mary since rescuing her from the passage last time. What on earth happened to make a person change like that, did she really push Lilith. I had many questions, but I couldn’t ask. Why on earth is Mary ignoring me and trailing after Havel? Simply because the person who rescued her from the pile of skeletons is Havel?

“Havel Akron. You tell me. Why has Mary been sticking right next to you lately?”

“Mary Crow. Trust me. Savior who saved her life. Me.”

“….”

The person who saved her life. Right, he did. If that’s the case, her sudden change in attitude wasn’t completely incomprehensible.

‘However, but… she definitely called him ‘Lord’ Havel back then. That’s too weird.’

Like someone who had been brainwashed or something.

‘Look at those eyes that seem to have lost their flavor…’

In the first place, Mary Crow was an eccentric, quirky, and bouncy character even in the game. But she was definitely not a character who acted like she was possessed by someone like that. So I watched Havel with a frown on my face. Wondering if I could find the cause of Mary becoming like that.

“Evil spirit. What’s wrong?”

Havel seemed to notice me staring at him closely.

“No, nothing.”

“If you’re bored, me cake.”

“Get lost.”

I left the place because I felt like I would get caught up in his pace if I stayed still.

“Find him! Hurry!”

Then a noisy sound was heard from afar.

‘What is it, why is it so noisy?’

I thought it was simply a temporary social phenomenon caused by a sudden increase in population, but it wasn’t something to just pass by.

“Find the Duke of Ravenwood! Catch that bastard who locked us up and went on a crazy killing spree!”

A human with a familiar and obnoxious appearance ordering his subordinates from afar. He was none other than the bald noble with a shiny crown who appeared in the early part.

“What’s this. It’s the baldy.”

“The evil spirit has appeared! That guy is also an evil bastard who toys with people and captures them on the Duke’s side. Catch her!”

“…It’s impossible to catch an evil spirit.”

“Throw her in jail! Catch her somehow!”

The bald noble struggled, giving ridiculous orders. But when no one followed his words, he gritted his teeth and reached out to catch me himself. I flew around swoosh swoosh in front of the baldy, toying with him. Every time he reached out, he grasped empty air, and the baldy couldn’t suppress his anger, huffing and puffing.

“You can’t catch me anyway, idiot.”

“Evil spirit. Bring the Duke of Ravenwood who locked us up before me!”

“What are you going to do if I bring him?”

“I will drag him down from the Dukedom and have him executed on the guillotine in front of the Imperial citizens!”

“….”

With that momentum, it seemed like he would find Basileon and kill him right away.

“I don’t even know where he is right now.”

“If you come out like that, I will return to my territory immediately and bring my army. You wouldn’t want that, would you?”

“…Really? Looks like there’ll be an entertaining spectacle for the first time in a while.”

When I whistled leisurely, the baldy gnashed his teeth.

“You… you…!”

He looked exactly like a boiling kettle. The baldy immediately left the Duke’s castle and assembled his subordinates.

“Bring the carriage!”
