Please Give Me A Kiss, Healer! Chapter 65
Three days later.
“To the safe return of Special Team 7!”
“To our safe return~!”
Thunderous cheers filled the beef restaurant.
It was a celebratory dinner for Special Team 7, who had been rescued from the dungeon.
“Hahaha, Jiwoo, if it weren’t for you, we really would’ve been in huge trouble. We might’ve ended up living like cavemen, eating nothing but fish in a cave for the rest of our lives.”
Special Team 7 had used a waterway inside the lake as an escape route. By diving through an underwater passage and swimming out, they were able to reunite with the rescue team waiting outside the cave.
“But Hunter Do Jiwoo, how did you know there was a passage there?” someone asked.
“Hmm… I found it by chance while catching fish.”
Actually, I found it using the Holy Eyes skill.
Holy Eyes was a healer-exclusive skill that most healers possessed.
But Jiwoo’s version was special.
Thanks to the effects of her second awakening, it revealed far more information than a normal skill ever could.
Still, there’s no need to tell anyone about that now.
If it became unavoidable, that was one thing—but there was no reason to expose her abilities unnecessarily.
From experience, doing so usually caused more harm than good.
That was why Jiwoo hadn’t told her teammates about what made her skill special.
“Boss! Another twenty servings of premium sirloin, please!”
“Yes, yes! Coming right up!”
The restaurant owner’s face lit up with joy.
Hunters already ate a lot to begin with!
Jiwoo had never been told she had a small appetite, but Hunter Cha Taepyeong was on an entirely different level.
“Ah—Hunter Cha Taepyeong! The meat isn’t fully cooked yet!”
“It’s fine. Just leave it. I’ve eaten it like this plenty of times and never had a problem.”
Cha Taepyeong chewed and swallowed meat that was still visibly red, looking like he might even chew through the iron grill and the charcoal beneath it.
They had only been at the restaurant for thirty minutes.
Yet the five of them had already eaten well over fifty servings.
The owner looked thrilled, but Jiwoo was worried.
Is this okay? Aren’t we going to hit the spending limit at this rate?
“It’s fine. I brought a card with no limit.”
“Oh! Really?”
“Of course. You all worked hard, Hunter Do Jiwoo. Don’t worry—eat as much as you like.”
Yoo Jaekyung poured soju into Jiwoo’s glass.
Cha Taepyeong propped his chin on his hands and asked,
“Honey, what about me?”
“You can eat or not eat. Up to you.”
She replied curtly, then picked up her chopsticks.
She placed a perfectly cooked piece of meat onto his plate.
Honey practically dripped from Cha Taepyeong’s eyes.
Quiet but gentle in her own way, Yoo Jaekyung.
Watching the couple’s affectionate display right in front of her, Jiwoo asked,
“So… how did you two meet, anyway?”
“Well, somehow… after surviving life-and-death situations together in a dungeon a few times, that big guy just started looking kind of cute.”
“Hahaha! These rippling biceps are my charm point! What do you think, honey? Cute? Feeling yourself fall for me all over again?”
Biceps, triceps! Quadriceps, penticeps!
As Cha Taepyeong struck bodybuilding poses, Yoo Jaekyung sighed and downed her drink.
“Be careful, Hunter Do Jiwoo. When everything someone does starts looking cute to you—no matter what—it’s over. That means you’re headed straight for marriage.”
“Ah…!”
Jiwoo flinched.
Yoo Jaekyung didn’t miss the reaction.
“Oh? Sounds like Jiwoo has someone like that too?”
“Ah, well… that is…”
Jiwoo fidgeted with her glass.
When she thought of someone who seemed cute no matter what they did, one person immediately came to mind.
Shin Ilguk, sitting beside her, studied Jiwoo closely.
“Hunter Do Jiwoo, are you seeing anyone these days?”
“Hahaha… no, not at all. Who would I even be seeing?”
Cha Taepyeong asked through a mouthful of meat,
“What? At your age, shouldn’t you be dating?”
“Well, I’ve been busy. And dating isn’t something you can do just because one person wants it, right? You need a partner.”
“I see… Jiwoo, I may not look it, but I have connections everywhere. Would you be interested in being set up?”
“A blind date?”
“There’s a really nice, good-looking junior in our comedy club. If you’re open to it, maybe—”
“Excuse me.”
An all-too-familiar voice cut him off.
Jiwoo’s eyes widened as she turned around.
Someone who absolutely shouldn’t have been there was standing behind them.
K-Kangwoo?
Why was Kangwoo here?
“Hello, Jiwoo.”
He looked completely different from usual.
His sculpted features were the same, but his ash-gray hair—normally falling over his forehead—was slicked neatly back. He wore a deep navy three-piece suit that emphasized his broad shoulders and solid build.
Yoo Jaekyung frowned after spotting the ID badge around his neck.
“Emergency Disaster Response Team… Jiwoo, do you know him?”
“Ah, this is—”
“Oh! I know him!” Oh Nara suddenly jumped to her feet.
“Seo Kangwoo! You’re Seo Kangwoo from Daewoon Group, right?!”
“Oh my god, I’m a huge fan! I even joined your fan café!”
She pulled out a pink notebook she always carried with her.
When she handed it over with a pen, asking for an autograph, Kangwoo smoothly signed his name.
That doesn’t look like the handwriting of someone signing for the first time. Did Heeseong train him or something?
In any case, thanks to Oh Nara’s excitement, Jiwoo finally regained her composure.
She spoke calmly.
“Kangwoo—no, Mr. Seo Kangwoo. What brings you here?”
“I was just passing by and happened to stop in. I thought I’d say hello.”
“By coincidence?”
“Yes. By coincidence.”
Yet despite claiming he’d only stopped by to greet them, Kangwoo remained standing even after the greetings were over.
His face flushed from drink, Cha Taepyeong waved him over.
“Hahaha! If you know Hunter Do Jiwoo, then you know us too! Haven’t eaten yet? Don’t just stand there—come sit down!”
“Thank you.”
As if he’d been waiting for those words, Kangwoo took the seat right next to Jiwoo.
Is he… really here just to eat meat?
Seeing him join them so naturally, Jiwoo felt an inexplicable sense of unease.
“I’ll grill the meat.”
“Huh? No, it’s fine, I can do it—”
“Please, give it to me.”
Kangwoo took the tongs and scissors straight from Jiwoo’s hands.
Beneath his rolled-up sleeves, firm muscles flexed subtly.
A moment later, Jiwoo’s unease became reality.
A mountain of meat piled up on her plate.
The culprit was Kangwoo.
“Jiwoo, please eat plenty.”
While everyone else took meat for themselves, Kangwoo placed perfectly cooked sirloin only onto Jiwoo’s plate.
Anyone could see his personal interest written all over it.
This guy, seriously…!
Jiwoo sped up her chopsticks.
If she didn’t want others to notice his obvious favoritism, she had to keep eating and clear the meat away.
But it got ridiculous.
“Drink some water too. Would you like me to make you a wrap with vegetables?”
For every three bites she ate, five more pieces appeared on her plate. He seemed completely absorbed in feeding her.
Jiwoo whispered,
“Kangwoo! What are you doing right now?”
“……”
Kangwoo blinked innocently.
Instead of answering, he reached under the table and took hold of Jiwoo’s hand.
Gah! Has he lost his mind?!
Jiwoo quickly scanned the table.
Fortunately, the other team members across from her were too engrossed in conversation to notice.
Cha Taepyeong picked up the tongs.
“Hahaha! You know, actually, my wife fell for me because of the way I grilled meat at company dinners. Proper sirloin should be tender and juicy inside, barely cooked on the outside. Right, honey?”
“You do grill meat well, I’ll give you that.”
When Yoo Jaekyung agreed, Cha Taepyeong’s grin stretched from ear to ear.
Energized, he flipped the meat and launched into a lecture.
“Watch closely, Ilguk. If you want to be a beloved husband, you need to learn how to grill meat. This isn’t something you learn just anywhere—I’m teaching you because we’re on the same team.”
He adjusted the heat with precision as he grilled.
Then his gaze shifted to Kangwoo, sitting diagonally across.
“Ahem. Well, Kangwoo, you grill meat pretty well too. Whoever your future wife is, she’ll be very happy.”
At that, the corner of Kangwoo’s lips curled upward.
He leaned slightly toward Jiwoo and whispered, just loud enough for her to hear,
“Jiwoo, do you like it?”
“…What?”
She asked blankly, then realized his meaning exactly three seconds later.
“W-Why are you asking me that?”
“Hm?”
Under the table, Kangwoo quietly pointed at himself.
“A beloved husband. And…”
His finger moved toward Jiwoo.
“My future wife.”
