The inside of the car was much wider than it looked from the outside.

That was all thanks to magitech’s signature interior expansion magic. Because of it, there was more than enough space even with Mehen, me, and the entire childcare squad inside.

“Wow, the inside is even nicer.”

“How many spells were used in this thing?”

“Seriously. Shock prevention, anti-vibration, soundproofing, automatic temperature and humidity control…… it’s covered in magic.”

Watching the childcare squad chatter excitedly reminded me of the wizards who had confidently claimed that once this car went out into the world, it would turn everything upside down.

“So, Mom. Do you think this could really shake up the world?”

“At the very least, it could shake up Albrecht.”

Mehen chuckled softly and patted my head.

“When they were going on about a transportation revolution in Spherom, or how it would become a new symbol of wealth, I wondered if it was really that impressive…….”

Mehen narrowed her eyes. I burst into laughter at her sharp, calculating gaze, like she was estimating its value.

“It’s a shame Dad isn’t here.”

“…….”

“Ah, Dad really should’ve seen this.”

Mehen’s expression darkened in an instant.

“I wonder where Dad is and what he’s doing right now. Do you know, Mehen?”

“Who knows. Probably doing something pointless somewhere again.”

I burst out laughing at Mehen’s cutting tone. Dad’s favorability just dropped.

This whole scene felt both pleasant and unfamiliar.

We had gotten all kinds of magical tools from the Mage Tower, but unfortunately, none of them included elixir recipes.

Even if there had been one, I probably wouldn’t have been able to make it anyway.

[Current Blessings Applied:

– Authority of Slumbering Sloth
– Authority of ??? (Temporary)]

My status window was still like this.

Staring at the word temporary, I thought to myself.

Cheyen probably wouldn’t do something this nice again, so once that blessing ends, I’ll probably collapse again, right?

There were still so many things I wanted to do.

I needed to go to the secret archive and grab Mac by the collar, I wanted to attend the car test-drive event they were supposedly holding in Spherom soon, and I wanted to see El Sionel completed.

And Pession…….

‘The wizards said they’d find a way to treat me, but.’

You can’t cling to just that. And besides, I was a very realistic person.

If there was no clear way to cure my illness, wouldn’t it be better to do what I could before I died?

What my past life had taught me was that, in the end, only memories remain.

Playing violin duets with Mom, the fish-shaped pastries Dad bought me, the ocean I visited once in a while just for a change of mood.

Moments that hadn’t seemed that meaningful at the time were now comforting me.

When I grabbed Mehen’s sleeve and tugged, she turned to look at me. I met her pale, light-green eyes full of questions, then smiled.

“Let’s go on a trip.”

“A trip?”

“Yeah. A trip.”

All of a sudden, I really wanted to see the ocean.

“……I’ve never been there before.”

Sharite with Mehen had been my last outing. Mehen’s expression instantly softened, her gaze turning tender and shaded.

“Let’s go, then. On a trip.”

I beamed at her immediate answer.

“Let’s go by car!”

“But who’s going to drive it?”

At Mehen’s very reasonable question, everyone’s gaze shifted to one spot. Ben, the professional coachman with thirty years of experience driving Halbern carriages, bowed deeply.

“Just give me three months!”

In the end, our trip was decided to go without the car.

It definitely was.

“Ether…….”

Wooooong—

“Don’t pretend it’s not you. What do you think you’re doing right now?”

Why am I feeling that familiar Ether energy coming from my car?

Wooooong, wooooong—

“Not you? Don’t lie. You forgot that just like you feel my energy, I can feel yours too?”

From the moment I first saw the car’s blueprints, Ether had been eyeing it—but I never thought it would go this far.

It kept begging me to let it swallow just one thing.

“How did you even do this? And in the first place, you’re a weapon.”

It was a violin in my hands, but strictly speaking, Ether was a weapon.

But a car being a weapon……?

“What am I supposed to do if you swallow the only car I have?”

Wooooong—!

Ether strongly insisted, showing off the advantages it gained by swallowing the car!

“You’ll drive for me instead……?”

That might actually be…… good?

“Wow, a car can do this too?!”

“And it moves without a coachman!”

The childcare squad’s pure amazement only made my feelings more complicated.

No, that’s not normal. This thing is the weird one.

Even Mehen was impressed.

“So magic can do something like this?”

“Well…….”

Ether was made with magic too, so I guess it was kind of similar?

The car, which had almost been left unused because no one could drive it, was now smoothly racing along an unpaved road.

The world’s first self-driving AI car.

To think I’d recreate the level modern humanity only dreamed of—first, in another world.

Wooooong—!

Ether buzzed nonstop, excited by the speed and saying it was his first time feeling something like this.

You’re noisy, you know that?

Ether was extremely satisfied with his current form. He’d wanted it from the moment he first saw it, but transforming directly was even more thrilling.

“Hey, someone’s coming!”

“We’ve got customers, guys! Time to work.”

“Shall we rob them clean today?”

The roads of this world weren’t safe. Bandits who avoided the patrol units and forcefully occupied parts of the road to rob travelers were waiting for today’s victims.

“Huh? That thing doesn’t even have horses—how is it moving?”

“But it’s crazy fast!”

“It’s already here?!”

The bandits, who had slowly gathered from afar, froze as the car approached before they could even form up properly.

And then—

“It’s coming? It’s just coming straight at us?!”

“Aaah!”

The car didn’t stop.

The hesitant bandits ran away at the last second before impact.

They stood there dumbfounded, watching the car zip past.

By the time they snapped out of it, the car was already out of sight.

Ether felt a bit disappointed. Those bandits had long lifespans. If they’d kept blocking the road, he’d planned to just run them over.

But then, a new threat appeared in front of him.

Grrrr.

A wild monster!

A creature with no intelligence, driven purely by instinct, lunged the moment it saw the car.

If this had been an ordinary carriage, the horses would’ve panicked—there’d have been no way to get through.

Vrooooom—!

Ether accelerated even more.

Bang!

The beast-type monster, charging without fear, was struck head-on and knocked aside. The car passed by without even shaking.

Meanwhile, inside the car, everything was unbelievably peaceful—Arellin was asleep in Mehen’s arms, and the attendants, including the childcare squad, were playing poker.

Whether passing through forest paths or open plains, one or two monsters would always rush at them—but the car never stopped.

Ensuring the user’s safety and eliminating hostile threats.

The ultimate weapon capable of both!

Woooooong—!

Ether thought proudly.

Yes. He really had become the strongest weapon.

Our destination, chosen to match my wish to see the sea, was Sagret—a coastal tourist city north of the capital.

Even though it was a tourist city, it didn’t have a warp gate, so people usually took the mana train. But we had a car, so we arrived quickly.

“Six hours. That’s about an hour faster than the mana train.”

“We didn’t stop at other stations.”

It seemed everyone was satisfied with their first car trip.

I slept the whole time, though.

“……?”

But isn’t the car kind of dirty?

Or is that just my imagination?

“Let’s eat! Food time!”

“They say Sagret’s grilled fish is amazing. Should we get lobster too?”

“I heard Grimel soup is incredible. We have to try it before we leave!”

Yuni and Lena flipped through tourist pamphlets, shouting one after another.

Mehen was busy checking both the inside and outside of a summer villa we’d rented instead of staying at a hotel.

“……Huh?”

The moment we entered the lobby, I saw a familiar emblem—a set of scales.

Which noble owned this place… Spherom?

This feels… ominous.

While I stared suspiciously at the Spherom crest, the childcare squad was already deep in an excited debate about where to take me.

“They say this spot has the best view of the Seviru Bridge.”

“The city view from this hill is supposed to be gorgeous.”

“Come on, let’s go, young lady!”

Why is everyone this excited?

Childcare without vacations must’ve been really hard. Keeping up with the unusually high energy of the squad today was exhausting.

“Please enjoy yourselves. I have something I need to do—hm?”

“Work later!”

I grabbed Mehen’s arm and pulled her back.

“Well, in all my years, I never thought I’d live to see the day Arell scolds me.”

“If we’re on a trip, we should enjoy it!”

“Alright, alright. So what should we do?”

“…….”

Honestly, I didn’t have much experience having fun either, so my imagination fell flat.

When I couldn’t answer, Mehen smiled and gently suggested,

“Shall we eat first?”

“Yeah.”

But… what do people do for fun?

The realization hit me hard.

Other than eating good food and looking at pretty scenery, I couldn’t think of anything!

“What do people even do to have fun?”

I looked at Mehen for help, but—

“Even if you look at me like that, I don’t really know either.”

Right. This one’s a workaholic too.
