Possessor #2 Just Wants to Fangirl Chapter 159
I’m the only person in this worldview progressing side quests.
When the quest window opened, an achievement notification for being the first to unlock it appeared, so it’s certain. And I forgot about it….
‘Am I in my right mind?’
Even I find it absurd.
I should check that later… but then I had to deal with the mastermind, manage my babies’ reputations, gather funds for tribute, and completely forgot.
Still, well, should I be thankful I remembered now?

————————
The moment I saw the name of the item I need to find on the 3rd floor, an involuntary gasp escaped me.
‘Crazy! Really? Graeae’s Eye???’
It’s an item mentioned in the original too.
An eye possessed by monsters on the level of Medusa’s sisters in Greek mythology—our Junhwi also tried to find it but gave up because there were no clues.
‘He’d be so happy if I gifted it to him!’
I gave Hyeonmin a holy sword as tribute, so it’s about time I present our Junhwi with a precious artifact too to keep things balanced!
The problem is….
‘Can that even be found?’
It’s an item even Junhwi gave up on because there were no clues.
Still, rather than searching alone, it seems better to ask Junhwi to search together, but there’s a small problem here too.
【Warning: If you reveal the existence of the side quest to others, that quest will disappear.】
This sub-quest becomes void the moment you tell anyone about it.
Normally I’d make excuses like ‘I dreamed someone told me to find artifacts,’ but I recently dropped a big dream bomb, and my lies related to dreams were also discovered, so it’s a bit awkward.
While I was immersed in contemplation about how to bring this up, a thick voice rang out.
“Quiet.”
The buzzing that filled the surroundings stopped abruptly. Before I knew it, Professor Joo was standing at the front of the classroom.
“Before class, we’ll proceed with team change procedures. Cadets requesting changes should submit applications.”
Professor Joo finished speaking concisely and moved to a desk prepared at the front of the classroom.
Soon the sound of chairs scraping came from all directions, and several students stood up and moved to the front of the classroom.
Gyeon Junhwi, sitting two seats over from me, also stood up while showing a warm smile.
“I’ll go submit it. I wrote the application anyway.”
Junhwi moved to submit documents, and Yeom Juwan and Ki Hyeonmin spread out materials and began discussing strategy.
Seong Hayul poked me repeatedly with her elbow while leaning toward me. Seeing that, Boram also approached with a bright smile and an expression saying ‘me too!’
“Did something happen between you and Junhwi?”
“Nothing happened though?”
“N-no! T-today Junhwi is s-super kind to Sora!”
Sweetheart, that’s not kindness, it’s distancing.
Anyway, the change between us seems noticeable enough even for Boram to catch on. Boram was smiling brightly, but Seong Hayul conversely started grinding her nails.
“You… didn’t have another dream, did you? You only told Junhwi, right?”
“I didn’t.”
“Don’t be ridiculous. You were bawling yesterday too!”
“I wasn’t. I told you it’s a cold?”
After brushing it off like that, I straightened my posture again and looked toward the front of the classroom.
Cadets were clustering around Gyeon Junhwi. Several people were holding out papers asking something.
I’m curious… but I can’t hear from this distance.
Still, there’s a way to listen.
【Activating unique skill <I Was Taught to Watch the Good Stuff Big and Slow>.】
【Target: Gyeon Junhwi】
Even in the same space, I can use the skill.
Out of curiosity I glanced at where I was sitting, and my main body had closed its eyes and was nodding. Looks like dozing off.
I left my main body behind and focused on eavesdropping while floating around near Junhwi.
— Can you look at mine one last time too?
— There was something you told me before but I can’t quite remember….
Everyone was requesting Junhwi review their documents.
When changing teams, you need to provide legitimate reasons.
You have to explain in detail reasons like needing to add one more information-type person for team optimization… and kids from other teams are getting Junhwi’s confirmation.
‘My baby already organized a legion, huh?’
In the original, this only started next semester, but this time it’s a bit early.
There are a total of 8 teams entering the Tower with us, and 8 leaders total. But all the leaders are seeking Gyeon Junhwi’s advice.
In just a few weeks, they’ll faithfully follow Junhwi’s words, and this group will act like a legion commanded by Gyeon Junhwi.
— If you add the recent Samora Guild case here, approval should come faster….
People Junhwi gives clear instructions to like this are people he’s decided to take.
— Mm, wouldn’t it be better for you to decide this? If I say it, it seems like overstepping my authority….
Kids he gives freedom to like this are kids he’s decided to observe for now. When Gyeon Junhwi grants freedom, it means he’s drawing a line in advance so he can cut ties if necessary.
Those people need to prove their abilities going forward to become his hands and feet. If they become hands and feet, they have to give up freedom, but in return their lives are guaranteed.
Because Junhwi is a kid who thinks ‘I’d rather die than lose my limbs.’ People he truly trusts, he thoroughly controls but protects with his life.
I’m someone who became hands and feet then became free again.
‘……’
Getting gloomy for no reason, I ended the viewing early and returned to reality.
Being gloomy doesn’t help at all. Instead of that time, let’s secure the artifact our Junhwi coveted and think of ways to quickly become hands and feet again!
* * *
Team change applications wrapped up in 15 minutes, and class began.
Today’s first class is <Linked Stage Overview>.
It’s a specially organized class, so all 89 cadets doing practicals together are attending.
“The Tower’s 3rd to 10th floors are called linked stages. They’re one connected worldview, and it’s a unique structure where keys obtained on the previous floor are used on the next floor.”
The lecturer is Professor Joo’s right-hand TA. Professor Joo is sitting at his desk reading a book, but no cadets are dissatisfied.
Because the TAs explain more comprehensibly than Professor Joo.
I straightened my back for the first time in a while and focused on class. Because hints about the quest appear in this lesson.
“The stage for the linked stages is Greek mythology, more specifically, the heroic tale of Perseus.”
Perseus is the hero who defeated Medusa.
The Tower’s 3rd to 10th floors use that hero’s journey as their stage.
“The 3rd floor is a cave where the Graeae dwell, floors 4 through 8 are overlapping stages. After defeating Ladon, guardian of the golden apples protecting Hera’s garden, you obtain the necessary divine gifts, then….”
I focused on the lesson.
More precisely, I’m aiming for the timing when Q&A time starts after class ends.
“…You can adjust the pace yourselves. Then now….”
This is it.
The moment the TA trailed off, I raised my hand sharply.
“A question— Yes, Cadet Yeon Sora?”
“I want to ask what the ‘Graeae’s Eye’ looks like!”
At my question, excited murmurs arose here and there in the classroom. The TA who received the question laughed without showing any surprise.
“I expected that. Having students ask about Lost Treasure is an annual event.”
Lost Treasure literally means undiscovered treasures.
Countless precious artifacts appear in the mythological tale of Perseus. Then they should be found inside the Tower too… but in the past 27 years, no hunter has discovered them.
The TA answered my question with a meaningful smile.
“To answer Cadet Yeon Sora’s question, we cannot know what the Graeae’s Eye looks like. In mythology it’s called ‘the eye that grants wisdom,’ so we can guess the effect to some degree though.”
As soon as the TA trailed off this time too, other cadets raised their hands in quick succession.
“Yes, Cadet Kang Hojun?”
“Among the Lost Treasures, which has the highest possibility of being found?”
After that, questions about hidden artifacts poured out, and I opened my ears wide and concentrated on the TA’s answers.
There are many rumors related to Lost Treasures, but the TA was filtering out reliable information based on academic consensus.
I opened a hologram window and recorded only the highly reliable information the TA provided. Graeae’s Eye, golden apples, Pegasus, Medusa’s blood, etc.
After finishing recording and counting, there are 8 Lost Treasures total.
‘Could this be… that kind of thing?’
A total of 8 floors from the 3rd to 10th floors, and 8 treasures total. Perhaps the sub-quest is telling me to collect all those treasures.
It’s not without wishful thinking, but it’s quite plausible.
“Every year, cadets suffer major injuries attempting reckless operations trying to find Lost Treasures. As you know, these are legends. We cannot be certain they exist.”
The TA gave that warning, but I’m certain those artifacts actually exist.
Because my quest window told me to find them.
“Please be aware that straying from the strategy becomes sharply more dangerous. Then, we’ll move to the simulation room immediately.”
* * *
The next class proceeds in the simulation room.
While walking, Go Daesik came over and formally greeted us.
“We introduced ourselves before, right? I’m Go Daesik who’ll be with you starting today.”
Go Daesik is a male student with light brown hair and reading glasses—looking at appearance alone, he’s a weakling on par with me.
But the reason we added him to our team is because he’s a language-type ability user. Especially recently, he’s been enthusiastically researching Tower Goddess literature with Junhwi.
In that process, I’ve conversed with him a few times… but whenever language or writing comes up, he gets excited alone and pours out words in a torrent, so he’s not particularly fun.
“Yeon Sora, are you interested in Lost Treasures?”
“Doesn’t everyone have interest?”
“Keh! Right! Undiscovered artifacts are romance!”
Go Daesik’s eyes lit up, showing signs he’s about to pour out words.
But this… might be somewhat useful?
“Did you also see something while researching literature?”
“Kaha~ Don’t even get me started! There are so many documents by language… first, myths evolved as they were recorded by era, and materials from cultural spheres predating Ancient Greek….”
I hoped useful information would emerge the entire walk, but as expected, only the introduction is long and I have no idea what he even knows.
Juwan is kind, so he’s listening while adding reactions, but Seong Hayul and Han Boram must be tired because they slowed their walking pace and let Go Daesik go ahead first.
And we started our own conversation.
“You, don’t tell me artifact hunting… appeared in a dream? Think you’ll find it?”
“I’m lucky, so just in case. I’ll try searching once.”
“T-treasure hunting game! I like it!”
I took this opportunity to turn around and check Junhwi’s reaction too.
“Can I… investigate once? I don’t know why, but I have a feeling it definitely exists.”
“Finding it would be good.”
I can read anticipation in Junhwi’s smile.
‘As expected! He wants it!’
Let’s see…. This way I’ve honestly stated what work I’ll do going forward, and received permission too.
I unavoidably couldn’t mention the quest, but besides that I only told the truth.
I wanted to discuss where to start investigating, but unfortunately now isn’t the time.
“The mana consumed to operate the simulation room exceeds your imagination. Please don’t waste time and enter by team right now.”
At the TAs’ urging, we hurriedly entered the simulation room.
Last time over 100 people entered simultaneously as a group, but this time we had to enter by team into simulation rooms used by small groups only.
We entered a space resembling an elevator, Gyeon Junhwi operated the monitoring panel, and soon a guidance voice rang out.
【Transporting to before the Graeae’s nest on the 3rd floor】
Whirrrr— Thunk!
…After experiencing a sensation truly like an elevator, the door opened and a beach unfolded before my eyes.
Not a beach with sandy shores, but a coastline filled with black stones. This place where waves churn violently is the 3rd floor’s setting.
Gyeon Junhwi hurriedly organized what needed to be done.
“Then should we first confirm the luring method?”
The 3rd floor’s monsters are harpies.
Bird-like monsters that shriek and are faster than wind, so they’re not monsters our level can defeat.
Honestly, besides Ki Hyeonmin, I doubt there are freshmen who can properly vanquish harpies.
“Yeom Juwan, Ki Hyeonmin, Han Boram, can you help?”
Receiving Junhwi’s call, my babies collectively pulled out supplies.
Whole chicken, whole pig, barbecue set… all bait to lure harpies.
When harpies smell meat, they rush madly only toward it, so we lure them with food and leisurely walk into the cave ourselves.
Meaning we can pass the stage without fighting.
From now we’ll conduct experiments on which luring method is efficient, and four people are enough for that.
I gestured to Seong Hayul and Go Daesik.
“We’re weak, so we’ll just be in the way. Times like this, being obediently squashed in a safe place is helpful.”
We three weakest members moved to a safe spot, then plopped down on the ground. And the moment I sat down, I looked at Go Daesik with a grin.
“You’re language-type, so you’ve read lots of literature related to Lost Treasures, right?”
“Of course!”
If I leave him alone, he’ll spout nonsense by himself, so I need to narrow the scope.
“What have you read that others can’t interpret but only you can?”
“Huh?”
“Information only you know. Try telling me once.”

Wow! That means the next chapters would have stealing ancient artifact .for some reason I think the tower itself would have like simulation or time travel when all of this was taking place and they save medusa but I could be wrong. The new member seems fun I just hope he gets another nerd to fanboy his heart out . I think they will rob all the treasures lol better milk the tower dry
Thank you for the chapter!
