“Wh-where are you… going again?”

“A cafe.”

“A cafe?”

Today’s final destination is <Hideout>.

My babies’ regular cafe.

“Just a cafe where you only drink coffee, right?”

“Yes.”

“Hahaha! Right, a cafe! It was a cafe! Uhahaha!”

Seeing the secretary uncle bursting into laughter in the middle of the street makes my heart ache somehow.

I must have treated uncle too roughly.

I should quickly go to the cafe and buy him something delicious.

Finding the <Hideout> cafe wasn’t too difficult.

I’d already seen the sign on the day I took the awakening test.

The cafe is located on the top floor of a pitch-black building in the 1st floor plaza.

Since it’s a building without even an elevator, I had to crawl up a whopping 5 floors via stairs, but at the end was a fairly antique-looking solid wood door.

I calmed my pounding heart and opened that door.

Jingle!

A refreshing chime bell sound.

It had been described as the sound made when shaking glass beads in a glass cup—accurate!

Having entered the cafe of my dreams, I first looked around.

There isn’t a single customer.

‘Why aren’t there any?’

Strange.

If it followed the original work, Gyeon Junhwi should be here…

After the awakening test ended, Gyeon Junhwi had visited this cafe every day.

Organizing his future plans here, then going out to eat dinner when mealtime came.

Current time: 5:30 PM.

I came right on time, so why isn’t he here?

‘Well, there must be some reason.’

I decided to quickly accept this situation.

After all, there exists something in this world called the fan curse.

An abbreviation for ‘Fans can’t catch a break’—the higher law that strangely, the harder you fan over something, the harder it becomes to meet that target.

It’s okay.

Even if I can’t meet Gyeon Junhwi, coming here has meaning.

That’s what fan pilgrimages are originally like.

‘The sweet pumpkin tart my babies couldn’t live without! I wanted to try it too!!! At the exclusive seat my babies always sat in!!!’

I could immediately find my bias characters’ exclusive seat.

Window seat. Sunflower doll. Lion cushion.

Right, there!

“Sora. It’s just the two of us—do we really need to sit in such a spacious seat?”

“It’s fine, there aren’t any other customers anyway. What will you order?”

“Sweet pumpkin tart and mugwort latte!”

“Two of the same, please.”

Less than 5 minutes after placing the order, the menu I’d eagerly anticipated came out.

A palm-sized bright yellow tart. Round whipped cream lightly placed on top. Even sprinkled green herb leaves around it.

Truly exactly as described.

I calmed my leaping heart and put the sweet pumpkin tart of my dreams in my mouth.

‘!!!’

So moved that a single tear formed at the corner of my eye.

Per-fect!

Sweet pumpkin, cinnamon whipped cream, and fragrant herbs form a trinity in my mouth.

The pumpkin particles are so fine they crumble with good spreadability in the mouth before being absorbed directly into the body.

This is… the king of the sweet pumpkin tart world!

If sweet pumpkin tarts from around the world held an assembly once a year to elect a leader, this tart would undoubtedly win by a landslide.

An overwhelming taste that makes everyone involuntarily kneel!

So this is why even the taciturn Ki Hyeonmin would twitch his eyebrows if someone stole a bite of his tart!

“Good heavens!”

The secretary uncle is also marveling at this taste.

“Sora, how did you know about a place like this?”

“I just read about it somewhere.”

It’s not a lie.

I read it in <On the Brink of Destruction>.

Uncle and I were busy becoming one with the tarts for a while after that, munching and slurping.

After the plates were completely emptied,

The secretary uncle looked at me with fatigue-worn eyes.

“Sora, can uncle close his eyes for a moment?”

Uncle looked really, really tired.

If uncle were a smartphone, he’d be displaying a red box and ‘1%’ floating in the upper right corner.

“Please rest. I’ll read a book.”

“Alright. Wake me if anything happens.”

Uncle folded his arms and closed his eyes, and I picked up some random magazine and spread it on my lap.

This magazine is for camouflage.

When doing other things, you should spread out a textbook to avoid suspicion.

With a soulless touch, I rustled through the paper while mentally operating my device.

〔Opening memo pad〕

A hologram memo pad unfolded.

This memo pad only I can see is the world’s safest memo pad.

❏ Fan Pilgrimage Holy Sites Collection.txt ❏ Major Plot Point Summary.txt ❏ Famous Scenes Not to Miss.txt ❏ Analysis of My Babies’ Likes and Dislikes.txt ❏ Academy Major Landmarks.txt ❏ <On the Brink of Destruction> Restaurants.txt …

I made so many.

These files are things I created during the 3 days I was confined at Yeon Sora’s house.

Right now I’m reciting <On the Brink of Destruction> TMI fluently, but what about 1 year later? 2, 3 years later?

I thought it would be good to write down as much as possible while memories are fresh, so what started as making one or two has already become 9.

And now it’s time to make yet another new file.

〔Creating Destruction Prevention TO DO List.txt〕

I gained a tremendously huge realization while conducting the hypnosis session with Ha Seonwoo earlier.

I think I finally know.

Why I possessed into this novel.

And what I need to do from now on.

* * *

There’s been one question I’ve held since early in my possession.

Q. Why did the author specifically make me possess? Why me of all people?

Of course, I’m not complaining.

The moment I confirmed Yeon Sora’s goddess specs, I’m the one who cut ties with ‘Seo Juyoung’ and transferred to Yeon Sora.

Live school life with my bias characters in an elf goddess body?

What an opportunity!

The fact that it’s a school where catastrophic incident, assassination, wholesale slaughter, annihilation, and destruction lurk does weigh on my mind… but well, there’s no such thing as a free lunch in the world.

I genuinely feel happiness about possessing.

But that’s not the reason I possessed.

I don’t know much about it, but possession seems quite troublesome.

Why would the author go to such effort for the happiness of a reader whose face they don’t even know?

There’s one reason I possessed.

Because the author felt I was necessary.

Then another new question arises.

Q. Why am I necessary when Gyeon Junhwi exists?

First of all, it’s not because of my abilities.

If we’re just comparing abilities, Gyeon Junhwi is far superior.

Gyeon Junhwi, the true protagonist of <On the Brink of Destruction>, is a typical intelligence character.

He memorized the novel’s settings thoroughly and carefully used the information he had to thoroughly… no, to successfully utilize and achieve his goals.

His methods sometimes (quite often) crossed the line, but anyway, he refreshingly resolved all crises well.

That’s why I didn’t know this novel would have a destruction ending.

Brief 3-line destruction summary:

① The main villain (commonly called the mastermind) destroying this world is a dark organization composed of 9 total members.

② Gyeon Junhwi dealt with 6 of the 9. The world was destroyed because he missed the remaining 3.

③ The reason he couldn’t deal with the final 3 wasn’t lack of ability. It’s because the rules suddenly changed in the last episode.

Hmm, the last part can’t be summarized, can it?

To add a slightly more convoluted explanation, the mastermind can use something called ‘Authority of the Devil.’

This Authority is an ecosystem-destroying level ability, but the author had some conscience because they introduced their own good-evil balance system.

The ‘Authority of the Devil’ can only be used one at a time.

Throughout the work, the mastermind only used one Authority at a time, and my babies also eliminated the mastermind one by one.

But.

In the last episode, the rules suddenly changed.

Our capable regressor, Ki Hyeonmin, gained Authority while achieving his 3rd awakening.

A transcendent-class Authority at that.

That’s how the good-evil balance collapsed, and the remaining 3 mastermind members rushed in all at once and attempted a gang-up.

If it’s just a contest of strength, Ki Hyeonmin has the advantage.

It’s transcendent-class Authority after all.

But villains don’t say ‘Let’s have a fair contest of strength!’ to strong protagonists.

If overpowered by strength?

Obviously they have to go with cowardice.

So the mastermind cowardly took Ki Hyeonmin’s comrades hostage and forced a choice.

— Will you save all humanity, or will you save your comrades?

Ki Hyeonmin was placed at a crossroads of choice.

If he abandons his comrades, humanity is saved.

Obviously choosing humanity is correct. No matter how you look at it, that’s correct…

Ki Hyeonmin ultimately couldn’t make a choice.

— Do you think I’m not serious?

While hesitating, the mastermind killed one of Ki Hyeonmin’s comrades.

A precious comrade left.

To a place they can never return from.

One string holding Ki Hyeonmin’s reason snapped with a twang.

— You fucking bastard, what are you hesitating for!

Another comrade took their own life.

Refusing to become Ki Hyeonmin’s shackles.

Now he could never see 2 comrades again.

And Ki Hyeonmin… did an unimaginable action.

He took his own life.

— Kuhahaha! Stupid bastard! What are you going to do by all dying together?

The mastermind mocked like that, but Ki Hyeonmin had his own logic.

Because he’s a regressor.

Because he’d been fighting a lonely battle alone for the past 6 cycles.

Because fighting together with someone was the first time this cycle.

Because that… wasn’t unpleasant.

He believed that if he reset and started over, everyone could survive together in the next cycle.

He didn’t know.

That even trying again would never repeat the same thing.

Because Gyeon Junhwi only possessed in that one cycle.

This was the one and only opportunity.

Not knowing that fact, the regressor departed, and the world was destroyed.

The end.

Uuugh, thinking about it again makes me tear up.

Author!

I really hate this lingering effect from wholesale slaughter??

If you were going to do this, at least give us a hint from the beginning!!!

I had a moment of tears and rage, then calmed my breathing.

I have to prevent that ending.

On the name of the second possessor, the devoted reader!

Having regained my senses, I entered the first line in my memo pad.

❖ How to Prevent Destruction:

Eliminate the 3 undisclosed mastermind members.

Basic formula: 6+3 = 9

The method to prevent destruction is surprisingly simple.

While Gyeon Junhwi catches 6 mastermind members, I just need to catch and kill off the ‘final 3.’

The problem is… I don’t know who the ‘final 3’ are.

In their only appearance scene, they all wore masks, and there are no illustrations, so I don’t know their faces.

Only code names appeared for their names.

One of the three used ‘Authority,’ but the other two didn’t even show their Authority.

In the midst of that, I discovered a peculiar clue at the awakening test.

The strange grasshopper.

A grasshopper firing off restraint release magic and noise cancellation magic…

No matter how I look at it, isn’t this mastermind vibes?

So I set up this hypothesis for now.

◉ Hypothesis 1: The person who sent the grasshopper (hereafter Grasshopper Boss) is one of the ‘final 3.’

That’s right.

From my first day of possession, I discovered a clue about the ‘final 3’!

But it doesn’t end here.

I realized another fact.

The fact that I’d been making a very critical mistake.
