Valley of Death (2)

As soon as Seon Yul applied to climb the Tower, Nelgado immediately rushed over.

Since Seon Yul was already classified as an important climber of the Tower of Life, this was only natural.

“How far are you planning to climb this time?”

Nelgado, having hurried over, first asked about Seon Yul’s climbing plan.

“I’m thinking of going at least up to the 50th floor.”

After placing Li Yu inside the Absolute Space, Seon Yul met Nelgado alone and answered casually.

“You’re not planning to go to the top floor, right?”

“Yes, not for now. But even if I do end up going, I won’t attempt to break the top floor record.”

“Thank you.”

As promised, Seon Yul planned to discuss any attempt at breaking the top floor record with the Tower of Life Management Bureau beforehand.

After reassuring Nelgado, Seon Yul immediately entered the Tower, and the floor he arrived on was, of course, the 42nd floor.

A vast plateau spread out before his eyes.

If compared to Earth–104, it looked similar to what was known as the Grand Canyon.

“The Valley of Death… was at the northern end, right?”

Even inside the Tower’s world, the four cardinal directions existed. And surprisingly, you could determine them using something as simple as a compass.

Tzzzt.

After quickly identifying north, Seon Yul immediately opened the entrance to Absolute Space. From within, Cheon Li Yu slowly walked out.

“Wow… the scenery… I think this is even more impressive than the real Grand Canyon.”

“You’ve been to the Grand Canyon?”

“Yeah, a few times. But this place looks even more spectacular.”

“I wonder what world this one was borrowed from?”

“Who knows… maybe one of countless dimensions?”

Seon Yul and Cheon Li Yu often talked about the Tower, and one of the things they were most curious about was the world implemented inside it.

After many discussions, they reached a shared conclusion: the world inside the Tower was likely a borrowed or replicated space from somewhere else.

So they believed this place was also a location from some unknown dimension.

“Let’s go. If we run straight that way, it should be fine.”

Seon Yul raised his hand and pointed in one direction.

The direction he pointed to was due north.

As soon as he indicated it, Cheon Li Yu activated Divine Eye and even shared her vision with him.

And then began the spatial skipping.

Using Absolute Space stepping with Divine Eye, the two moved vast distances instantly, as if using teleportation.

In fact, since the principle of teleportation itself involved folding space to connect two points, what Seon Yul was doing now could easily be called that.

The only downside of this ability was the high consumption of magic stones.

But now that Seon Yul was earning so many magic stones, he didn’t hesitate at all to use it.

In less than 10 minutes, they reached the northern edge of the 42nd floor.

Seon Yul stopped in place, staring at a deep, dark canyon before him.

“That… must be the Valley of Death, right?”

He pointed at the canyon, which looked exactly like something that would be called that.

Cheon Li Yu nodded.

“Looks like it.”

“And it’s filled with undead monsters inside?”

“Yeah, that’s what I heard.”

“Hm.”

Seon Yul paused to think.

He considered how to cleanly wipe out all the monsters.

He already had a method in mind before coming here, but needed to confirm it in person.

“I think it’ll work…”

He muttered while glancing up at the sky.

“Hm? What will?”

“Cleaning out the Valley of Death.”

“How? Long-range bombardment? Or go inside and sweep it with a Gatling gun or flamethrower?”

Those were decent ideas, but Seon Yul had something faster and more decisive in mind.

“Let’s finish it in one strike.”

“Ah… don’t tell me…”

“Yeah. God’s Hammer. Let’s use that.”

“Will that work? How high is this place?”

“It doesn’t need to be extremely high. Just enough for the first strike.”

He believed anything over 5 km would be sufficient.

If he could deal a large enough initial blow, the rest would be easier.

“Alright, let’s check the height first.”

Cheon Li Yu immediately looked up and measured it.

Flash!

It took only an instant.

“About 20 km. Wow, it’s higher than I expected.”

“Considering how far we ran, I figured it had to be at least over 10 km.”

“True.”

If the Tower replicated entire spaces, then naturally the height would match the scale.

How such a vast space was compressed into the Tower was unknown… but it meant God’s Hammer could be used properly.

“Let’s go up.”

After confirming the height, all that remained was execution.

First, Seon Yul entered Absolute Space and prepared.

He purchased a 5,000 kg steel sphere from the universal shop and placed it on the ground.

Then he exited.

Tzzzzzz

Using Overrun, he opened an entrance about 10 km in the air.

A massive hole appeared above the Valley of Death.

And slowly…

He dropped the 5,000-ton steel sphere through it.

Grrrrrrrr

“Li Yu! Target designation!”

At the same time, he asked Cheon Li Yu to designate the target.

She immediately locked onto both the projectile and the target.

And thus, God’s Hammer was complete.

“God’s Hammer Ver. 2” swung down upon the Valley of Death.

Technically, Seon Yul could have used a tungsten sphere “God’s Hammer Ver. 3” but there was no need to use a butcher’s knife to kill a chicken.

BOOOOOOM

The 5,000-ton steel sphere began falling from 10 km above.

It took about one minute to hit.

Meanwhile, Seon Yul and Cheon Li Yu retreated safely into Absolute Space.

And the hammer struck…

Right into the center of the valley.

Then…

KWA-GWAGWAGWAGWAGWANG!!!

A wave of death erupted.

The valley was instantly devastated.

Countless undead monsters were erased.

There were no exceptions.

Before God’s Hammer, everything was equal… Even undead beings that defied death couldn’t withstand the explosive kinetic energy.

The easiest way to eliminate the undead was to destroy their bodies.

God’s Hammer didn’t just destroy them, it erased them.

In other words, maximum efficiency.

Of course, the explosion didn’t cover the entire valley.

It devastated several kilometers around the center, even collapsing parts of the canyon.

But those near the edges survived.

And instinctively…

They fled outward.

Exactly as Seon Yul had predicted.

He never expected one strike to finish everything.

This was only the opening move.

Next…

BOOM! BOOMBOOMBOOM!!!

From three Absolute Space openings behind the valley…

K-9X self-propelled artillery and K-3 stealth tanks unleashed a barrage.

Shells rained down in front of the valley.

KWAANG! KWAGWAGWANG!

The escaping undead were torn apart by explosions.

Still, some broke through.

But what awaited them…

Whiiiiiir—DUDUDUDUDUDU—BRRRRRRRR!

Gatling guns fired directly by Seon Yul through Absolute Space.

None survived.

Meanwhile, Cheon Li Yu periodically fired a railgun into the valley…

Cleaning up survivors or driving them out.

Using nearly all his firepower…

Seon Yul completely cleared the Valley of Death.

Originally, climbers didn’t even go deep inside.

It wasn’t required to clear the floor.

Most only hunted a few undead at the entrance and left.

But Seon Yul…

Wiped out the entire valley.

Why?

“Wow… Level 85.”

“I’m level 67.”

To level up.

“The average level of these undead must be really high… I didn’t expect this much gain…”

“Same… I knew they were high-level, but not this good.”

All loot dropped by the undead would be collected later in the clear reward chest.

Meaning they gained both levels and massive loot.

“We’ve leveled enough. Let’s focus on climbing now.”

The minimum goal was the 50th floor.

But Seon Yul intended to reach the top.

That’s why he cleared the valley as fast as possible.

Now…

All that remained was to keep breaking speed records and climb higher.
