Gulp.

I could skip the second floor since it was where the meeting rooms were, but from the third floor up, each floor was occupied by a different department.

“We’re going for now, but……”

Cha Haeeon pressed the button for the third floor and looked back at me.

“…What exactly are you planning to do?”

The third floor was labeled ‘Security Team.’

“What happens if I step out of the elevator and walk into the department?”

“You’ll end up working as an employee.”

“Then we just don’t have to step inside at all, right?”

“What?”

Just then, the elevator arrived at the third floor.

Ding—

Slide—

As the doors opened, the entire floor was revealed to be the Security Team.

People could be seen working in the department with hollow, exhausted expressions.

Perhaps because it was the Security Team, the employees were all in a bizarre form, with padlocks attached to their heads. Furthermore, all the padlocks were closed.

I confidently stepped out, but only right up to the elevator door.

I could feel Cha Haeeon and Captain Gong Juwon watching me with anxious faces.

“Get ready to bolt.”

When I whispered softly, Cha Haeeon and Captain Gong Juwon each grabbed one of my hands.

After feeling a bit relieved, I shouted as loudly as I could so that it would ring throughout the entire department.

“I heard all the customers’ personal information just got leaked!”

“…What?”

“What did you just say?!”

Click. Click.

The closed padlocks on the employees’ heads began to click open in a chain reaction.

“It’s a lie!”

“Aaaargh!”

I delivered the finishing blow to the padlocks writhing in agony.

“It got leaked by a middle schooler, didn’t it? The CEO is totally going to have to make a national apology, right?”

“Aaaaaaaaaargh!”

“Gaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!”

“Please, anyone but a middle schooler…!”

The effect was distinct.

The employees with the padlocks began to burn black.

I rapidly spammed the close button of the elevator.

Tap-tap-tap-tap!

Slide—

The doors closed.

“That’s one down.”

“…”

“…”

Silence enveloped the elevator.

Inside the elevator, the indicator for the 3rd floor Security Team turned gray.

Cha Haeeon was the first to speak.

“So when you said you’d break it…”

“Mhm, I’m going to break all the departments.”

As a hardcore user of <Squishy Squishy! Planetmon!>, I knew all the weaknesses of game company departments.

I tilted my head toward Cha Haeeon.

“Next.”

4th Floor, HR Team.

“The politician’s son who got a zero on his interview… everyone found out he was a pre-selected hire, right?”

“Aaaaaargh!”

“That wasn’t… our intention…!”

5th Floor, Management Team.

“You got caught manipulating the gacha rates, so you have to refund everything, don’t you?!”

“It was just business know-how to increase the fun of the game…!”

“Aaaaaaaaaargh!”

6th Floor, PR Team.

“Your promotional model just committed 50 billion won in tax evasion, didn’t they?!”

“Aaaaaaaargh!”

7th Floor, Operations Team.

“GM Super Accounts!”

“Gaaaaaaaaargh!”

With just that one phrase, the office was completely devastated.

.

.

.

Slide—

The elevator doors closed.

“Whew…”

Having ruined another department, I wiped away my sweat. My throat was dry from all the shouting.

The floor numbers on the elevator that had been glowing were now all gray.

Leaving only one place remaining.

That place was none other than—

‘CEO’s Office.’

Now, I could reach the rooftop once I went through the CEO’s office.

“Cha Haeeon, what about the CEO’s office? If I go inside, do I become the CEO?”

“No way.”

“Then will I be an employee this time too?”

“Since you’ve completely devastated all the departments, you probably can’t become an employee…”

Cha Haeeon also had a look on his face that said he didn’t know what would happen.

‘I guess I won’t know until I go in.’

I tightly held one hand each of Cha Haeeon and Captain Gong Juwon.

“We really have to bolt well this time.”

“Understood.”

Captain Gong Juwon nodded with a tense face.

Ding—

Slide—

As the elevator doors opened, the air changed.

The CEO’s office was quieter than expected.

Unlike the other floors, there was no sound of typing or employees whispering to each other.

One desk. One chair. And one person sitting behind it.

No, it was something that looked like a person.

He was dressed neatly in a suit, but he was not human.

The CEO’s face was divided into the parts of the major departments I had just destroyed. It was a shape like a Cerberus with five heads.

“You may enter. This place is different from the other departments.”

The CEO flicked a finger.

When I rolled my eyes around, Cha Haeeon nodded.

The three of us took one step inside.

“You’ve completely ruined my company.”

“That’s right. How about you take responsibility and step down now?”

At my attack, the corners of the CEO’s mouths curled up ever so slightly, and each head spoke.

“Those are problems of the individual departments.”

“I did not make those decisions.”

“There is no way I could be responsible.”

As expected.

It was the answer I had anticipated.

The CEO calmly continued his words.

“The position of CEO is not one for taking responsibility.”

“It is merely a position for coordination.”

“Shouldn’t the locus of responsibility be clear?”

I thought for a moment and then nodded.

I could feel Captain Gong Juwon whispering, “Should we bolt?”

However, shaking my head, I looked straight at the CEO and spoke.

“Then you’re saying you have zero responsibility?”

“Of course.”

I paused for a moment. How could someone be so characteristically like a company CEO?

“Then shall I ask the shareholders?”

Suddenly, the CEO’s pupils wavered minutely.

“What?”

“It’s fine if I post a notice under the CEO’s name, right?”

Silence.

The CEO’s faces froze in an instant.

“What?”

“I mean the apology letter.”

I added innocently.

“Under the CEO’s sole name.”

“That is—”

The CEO’s voice cracked for the first time.

“That is the organization’s judgment—”

“No.”

I shook my head.

“You’re the one who gave the final approval, CEO.”

At that moment.

The approval stamps that were on the desk in the CEO’s office began to be pressed down like crazy.

Thump—! Thump—! Thump—!

Documents scattered all over the CEO’s office.

At the very top of every document, the same name was stamped.

Trust Games CEO

Kim Taekkwon

“There’s no way…”

“I…”

“The CEO is not a position that takes responsibility……!”

The faces that were trying to scatter as if fleeing turned beet red.

“The CEO is—!”

Those words could not be finished.

Black smoke leaked out from the CEO’s mouths.

The documents went up in flames, and the approval stamps shattered into pieces.

“Stop, stop it!”

“Compensation! I will give you appropriate compensation!”

“Yes! I’ll hand out CEO Authority Coupons!”

“That’s right! We can just hand out coupons!”

Compensation? I asked, blinking my eyes.

“CEO Authority Coupons?”

“Yes, I will give you a CEO Authority Coupon that allows you to use any skin.”

“From the most expensive skins to the limited skins from past seasons!”

“It is a choice that entails an enormous loss in sales. How about it?”

Thump.

I heard the sound of my heart dropping.

The most expensive skin.

Because that was the Human Skin Skin.

If I wore that… I could go outside the contaminated zone.

I could blend in among people.

“Human Skin Skin…”

The murmur leaked out of my mouth unintentionally.

Then, the CEO’s faces flashed simultaneously as smiles appeared on them.

“Yes.”

“It’s every skin.”

“Human Skin Skin? Of course you can have it.”

A coupon appeared, sparkling in the air. The CEO grabbed it and held it out toward me.

My gaze wouldn’t leave the coupon.

It was the coupon I had longed for so much. If I just had that… if I become human…

Just then, something warm and slick gripped my wrist.

It was the tentacle of Brother, who was sitting on top of my head.

“…!”

Only then did I snap back to my senses.

‘I have to go to the rooftop.’

Bora Unnie is there.

Even if I have to live as a jelly alien for the rest of my life, it doesn’t matter. Because I have someone I want to save!

  1. No wonder, something so expensive being handed out for free? Anyone would get tempted.
