I took a deep breath and spoke.

“I don’t need anything like that. Just disappear already.”

“Then you won’t get anything!”

“That’s fine.”

At that, the floor of the CEO’s office began to crack with a loud skreeeeeek.

“You’re going to regret this!”

“This is your only chance!”

“Listen to me!”

I shook my head.

Then, black smoke swallowed the CEO’s faces.

Rumble—!

The CEO’s office began to collapse.

“To the elevator!”

I grabbed the two men and pulled.

Captain Gong Juwon was led by my hand and entered the elevator.

The CEO was engulfed in a firestorm, letting out a bizarre groan.

“Cha Haeeon!”

We had to get out of here quickly, but Cha Haeeon remained in the CEO’s office.

“Cha Haeeon, hurry!”

I shouted like a scream.

Only when the CEO’s office had almost completely collapsed did Cha Haeeon enter the elevator.

“What were you doing? You almost got into big trouble.”

I sighed as I pressed the button for the rooftop.

What on earth was he dawdling for? He’s usually so quick. Just as I was thinking I couldn’t understand him at all—

Cha Haeeon held something out.

“You said you needed this.”

“What?”

A shimmering card.

It was none other than the CEO Authority Coupon.

I received the coupon with trembling hands.

“T-thank you…”

Having thanked him in a daze, I hugged the coupon tightly to my chest.

“Thank you so much…”

Cha Haeeon had a look that said, ‘Is this really something to react that much to?’ but to me, it was that important of an object.

‘If I just have this…’

Because I can become human.

Beyond the simple meaning that I could go outside the contaminated zone, it brought a somewhat more special emotion to me.

‘I thought I had been adapting well to my alien form in the meantime…’

Seeing how I felt like this, I guess that wasn’t entirely the case.

Ding—

While I was fiddling with the coupon with a strange feeling, the elevator arrived at the rooftop. The cold air from outside invaded the elevator.

Shivering from the chill, I pitter-pattered out toward the center of the roof and looked around.

In one corner of the rooftop, I saw a place where old desks were piled up like an igloo. That was where Unnie lived.

I tightly closed my mouth and desperately swallowed the tears welling up inside me.

Because I wanted to show a composed appearance to Unnie, who seemed so unstable.

“I’m sorry, but could you two stay here?”

I asked for understanding from Cha Haeeon and Captain Gong Juwon. Because Unnie might not be favorable toward strangers.

Of course, my appearance right now would be a strange one to her too, but……

There was a hope that Bora Unnie, who had become a Calamity, might have an ability like Brother’s and recognize me.

I cautiously stepped forward.

“Unnie…”

It was the moment I called out to her with a trembling voice and entered beneath the dark desks.

“Unnie?”

It was empty.

The space inside was just large enough for an adult woman to lie down and fill it completely. There was no way she could be hiding in such a place.

I came back out and searched the surroundings, but there was no sign of Unnie.

Could it be that she transformed into a whale again and went to get food for the dolls?

When I went back under the desks, there were only the guild members’ keyring dolls laid out in a row in the empty space.

I felt a surge of hope looking at the dolls made in the likeness of the guild members.

I found Brother, and I found Bora Unnie. Maybe the other guild members are surviving somewhere too?

‘I hope so.’

I pulled Kyeol Oppa’s keyring doll from my chest. It was to place it next to the other dolls.

‘Bora Unnie will come back here, right?’

If I wait, I’ll be able to meet her again…

Crackle!

At that moment, the sound of sparking electricity was heard.

“…?”

I turned my head toward the outside.

“Get out of there!”

“Jelly-nim!”

Cha Haeeon and Captain Gong Juwon were shouting urgently.

“Huh?”

It was while I was giving a dazed response.

Crash—!

The desks that had been piled like an igloo collapsed.

I’m going to get hit!

I reflexively curled my body, but Brother, who was on my head, grabbed one of the desks with a tentacle and threw it aside.

“…?!”

I didn’t even have time to think how lucky that was.

What just happened?

It was at the same time I grabbed Brother and quickly came outside.

Whoosh—

A sound of air being shredded rang out.

With a zap! sound, Bora Unnie’s humanized tail was flying toward Cha Haeeon.

Cha Haeeon leaned his body back and avoided the tail by a hair’s breadth.

Zap! Sparks were flying from the tail he had avoided.

Bang!

A gunshot followed.

The bullet hit the end of the tail, ricocheted, and embedded itself in the ground.

I barely held back a scream that was about to burst out.

It all happened in a split second.

As I pressed down on my racing heart, Captain Gong Juwon, holding his gun, spoke in a trembling voice.

“I didn’t know you were still alive, Hunter Kwon Bora.”

“…”

“It’s me. Don’t you remember?”

“…”

Captain Gong Juwon continued to try and talk to her, but no answer came back.

Captain Gong Juwon isn’t enough.

“Unnie! Bora Unnie!”

I called out to her loudly.

Then, Unnie’s gaze turned toward me.

Zap! Having drawn sparks around her body, Unnie swung her tail left and right with a fierce face.

“…!”

It was an expression as if she were facing prey.

I ended up frozen by that gaze.

It was the same for Captain Gong Juwon. He was visibly stiff.

Because just looking straight at Unnie, who had become a Calamity, would make one feel as though the contamination was washing over their entire body.

Soon after, her tail flew in fiercely.

“Get back!”

Cha Haeeon pulled Captain Gong Juwon back, blocking the sudden attack.

Captain Gong Juwon, who had retreated while stumbling, scooped me up and leaped onto the rooftop structure.

Swish— swish—

Soon, the sounds of air being shredded were heard in succession.

Right below the structure, the two of them were clashing here and there, leaving only blurred afterimages.

I blinked.

“…Can you see that, Captain Gong?”

“No…”

The figures of the two, who had been exchanging invisible blows for several rounds, came to a halt at a distance.

Zap, crackle, zap—

Sparks flew around Bora Unnie’s body, and her hair began to stand on end.

Above her, a massive spear of electricity was formed.

“Zeus…”

The alias of Kwon Bora escaped from the mouth of Gong Juwon as he watched.

Quasar’s Zeus.

It was Bora Unnie’s Hunter name.

Crackle—!

The electricity tore through the air.

A giant spear of electricity rotated once in the air and aimed fiercely at Cha Haeeon.

“Cha Haeeon!”

I shouted loudly as I broke free from Captain Gong Juwon’s arms.

I felt a numbing bloodlust throughout my body. I couldn’t let Bora Unnie hurt Cha Haeeon.

‘I have to stop this!’

Bora Unnie was an S-class who vied for the first or second rank in combat power even within the Quasar Guild.

She was an opponent who could never be stopped if she went all out.

“Dodge it!”
