The Jelly Alien Will Save You! Chapter 46
Haeeon looked steadily into the round eyes of the jelly staring back at him.
Well, it all mattered little now.
Since he had completely folded up his feelings after falling into the contaminated zone.
It was different from back then, when he couldn’t even knock for fear of unintentionally blushing.
“Are you contaminated?”
“My contamination level is zero, so I don’t think I’m contaminated. I just woke up and I was like this.”
Conversing was so easy now.
“Still, what if you keep purifying yourself? You might be able to turn back into a human.”
“No, there’s another way besides that…”
“Another way?”
“There might be…”
Dam’s voice trailed off, and Haeeon nodded his head as if he roughly understood.
He had already crumpled up and tucked away his puppy love a long time ago.
The emotion he felt now was merely surprise at the current situation.
‘Besides, she looks like this.’
His counterpart was a self-proclaimed alien, after all.
She was cute, of course, but there was absolutely no way such feelings would bloom again.
Slap!
Just then, a tentacle of the webfoot octopus slapped Haeeon’s face.
“Sorry.”
“Forget it.”
Then again, Do Kyeol had always been a fool for his sister.
There shouldn’t even be a need to be on guard anymore. Haeeon shrugged and went into his room.

The next day.
Squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak!
I vigorously began my morning exercises.
Before long, Cha Haeeon came outside with a deep scowl.
“Can’t you wear those dog shoes when you exercise?!”
“I’m not wearing them precisely because you call them dog shoes!”
I snapped back at him.
For context, the dog shoes referred to the fur slippers I had purchased by spending a massive amount of coins; wearing them prevented the squeaking footsteps from occurring.
Cha Haeeon had liked them very much, and for some reason, seeing that made me feel spiteful, so I hadn’t worn the fur slippers since.
‘See if I ever wear those until you refer to them properly as fur slippers.’
Hmph!
Last night, I purposefully didn’t tell Cha Haeeon that I could buy the Human Skin skin.
It was to surprise him, to show him that all those countless hours I spent earning money were for this very reason.
For that sake, I had to collect coins. As soon as possible…
It was at that moment.
Crack!
With the sound of wood splitting, the door went flying.
Eek!
From inside the room where the door had been smashed, a whale’s tail popped out. It seemed Bora Unnie had woken up.
“Why did you only show up now?!”
I heard Bora Unnie’s voice, half-sobbing.
Bora Unnie repeatedly grabbed the webfoot octopus by the collar, shook him wildly, and burst into tears.
“~~!”
Brother tapped on the back of Bora Unnie’s hand, gagging as if he were being strangled.
Captain Gong Juwon, who seemed to have explained the situation to Bora Unnie, was flustered and unable to intervene.
“Hunter Kwon Bora, if you hold him like that, the octopus—no, Guild Master Do won’t be able to brea—”
“I’m asking why you showed up as an octopus after a whole day!”
“~~~!”
As he was held in Bora Unnie’s hands and shaken once more, Brother’s eyes began to spin.
‘Oppa gets grabbed by the collar a lot…’
Squeak, squeak, squeak….
“U-Unnie…”
Approaching a few steps, I gathered my courage and called out to her.
In an instant, Bora Unnie’s head whipped around toward me.
My shoulders flinched.
She remembers everything, right? If I get hit by that whale tail, I’m a goner…
“Sniff! Damie?”
Fortunately, Unnie remembered me.
“Unnie…!”
Squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak!
As I approached her, Bora Unnie pulled me into a tight hug.
Then, she began to wail loudly.
“Waaaaaaaaah! Waaaaah!”
“Unnie, don’t cry.”
“Damie, how did you end up like this…! Waaaaah! Of course, hic! You’re incredibly cute and lovely, but… waaaaah!”
Am I really that cute?
I laughed a little while patting Unnie’s back.
Unnie was crying and wailing, I was laughing, Captain Gong Juwon was flustered, and Cha Haeeon was… being Cha Haeeon.
Cha Haeeon alone stood there perfectly fine, watching the tearful reunion.
I thought I should bring this situation to a close about now.
“Unnie, aren’t you hungry? Let’s eat first.”
“Eat?”
“Mhm, eat.”
At the word ‘eat,’ Brother and I reflexively looked at Cha Haeeon.
Then, Bora Unnie also cast her gaze toward Cha Haeeon without knowing why.
“…?”
Cha Haeeon, suddenly becoming the center of everyone’s attention, shouted shrilly.
“You gluttons! All of you, get out!”
* * *
A bonfire was lit in the yard.
Atop it sat a grill I had made using the Power of Decoration.
Once the grill had reached the proper temperature, Cha Haeeon held his hand out to me.
I wiggled my hands and handed over the skewers I had loaded with meat.
With the three of us—Brother, Captain Gong Juwon, and I—making skewers, there was soon enough for everyone to eat. (We kept Bora Unnie away from the food because she kept crying and sniffling.)
But!
Wait a moment.
It should be about time to introduce my new face.
Cha Haeeon must have noticed as well. The fact that new crops were growing in the field that used to only have cherry tomatoes and green onions.
That was none other than…
“What is this?”
“Mushrooms!”
I puffed out my chest and handed a mushroom skewer to Cha Haeeon.
“Mushroom? It looks weird.”
Cha Haeeon’s reaction was incredibly lukewarm. As expected, I can’t surprise this guy with something like this.
Even though Captain Gong Juwon had given me two thumbs up and looked startled when I said I was growing mushrooms.
“Isn’t it a poisonous mushroom?”
Cha Haeeon frowned as he examined the star-shaped mushrooms on the skewer.
“Tsk, tsk, tsk.”
I clicked my tongue and shook my chubby fingers side to side.
“Diverse flora that you know nothing about lives in the universe. This is what you call a ‘Cosmic Mushroom.’ It’s a C-rank, no less.”
“Don’t blame me if you eat them and get sick.”
I pouted.
“You ate the Cosmic Spirit Eggs just fine.”
And you gobbled them up quite brutally, too.
“Those were eggs, and these are mushrooms.”
Sizzle—
The star-shaped Cosmic Mushroom skewer went onto the grill.
Thump-thump. I waited for the mushrooms to cook while fanning them from the side.
Juice began to pool inside the mushrooms as they grilled to a golden brown.
“Oh.”
That’s the delicacy right there.
I was watching the mushrooms while licking my lips when I felt Cha Haeeon’s gaze staring down at me. Is he that worried I’ll get sick?
It was just as I met Cha Haeeon’s eyes.
Brother squeezed in between us. Then, he used his tentacles to shove us both to either side.
“…?”
“…?”
