Just as Cha Haeeon and I had question marks over our heads, Brother picked up a mushroom skewer.

He blew on it to cool it down before handing it to me.

In an instant, everyone’s eyes were fixed on me. Their expressions all asked, ‘Is it really okay to eat that?’

Ha! These Earthlings.

As if to show off, I opened my mouth wide and took a huge bite of the mushroom.

Munch, munch.

“Is it not hot?”

“Mhm.”

At Bora Unnie’s question, I nodded while chewing on the chewy mushroom.

“Do you feel any nausea or anything of the sort?”

Next was Captain Gong Juwon. Since he asked with a face full of worry, I held out the skewer to him. My eyes sparkled with life.

“This is super delicious…!”

“What does it taste like?”

“A taste of heaven! It’s seriously the best!”

“Is that so?”

“You trust me, right?”

At that, the hesitant Captain Gong took a skewer and popped a mushroom into his mouth.

“Oh!”

“It’s good, right? Right?!”

“It’s truly delicious! To think you grew such a mushroom… as expected, you’re amazing!”

“Ahahahahaha!”

I shook my body with laughter at Captain Gong Juwon’s shower of praise.

Then, Brother narrowed his eyes.

He had an unreadable expression, as if wondering, ‘Is it this idiot over here instead of that punk over there?’

“…?”

Then, Bora Unnie, who seemed to be suffering from a disease where her tears wouldn’t stop, approached while sniffling, saying she wanted to try it too.

I handed a mushroom to her as well.

“Sniff! This is really tasty!”

“Great. Let’s grill more, let’s grill more.”

“I’ll go pick some!”

“Then I’ll wash them. Sniff!”

And so, after we all grilled and ate a mountain of skewers together.

I patted my stomach while holding Brother and asked Bora Unnie.

“Unnie, what happened to you?”

IInterrogation time had officially begun.

The story Bora Unnie told afterward wasn’t much different from what Brother had told me.

She said her memory cut off while she was frantically clearing out monsters in the Yongsan Dungeon.

“I saw the light too, though…… I think it was split into several layers……”

Unnie frowned as she spoke, but soon shook her head. It meant she couldn’t remember anything beyond that.

“What about after you became a Calamity?”

“My memories are spotty. As I was being contaminated, it felt like my head was filled with dust, all hazy… and I kept hearing a voice like static. When I finally came to my senses, just maintaining my human form was so difficult that I didn’t have the strength to do anything else. Still, I wanted to protect everyone this time, as much as I couldn’t back in the Yongsan Dungeon…”

Bora Unnie’s eyes grew distant as she spoke vacantly.

It seemed she was reflecting on the time she cared for the dolls, believing them to be her guild members.

I snuggled right into her arms. As I used my Power of Purification, Unnie’s expression became much more relaxed.

Unnie hugged me and buried her face in my head.

“I don’t know when the last time my head felt this clear was. It’s so refreshing…”

Unnie took a deep breath while holding me, appearing truly happy.

Brother patted Bora Unnie on the shoulder. As if to say it was okay now.

At that, sobs escaped from Unnie.

“Hic! Waaaaaaaaah!”

Bora Unnie, bursting into tears again, held me tight and kept whispering over and over.

“Thank you for staying alive, sniff! and for finding me, really……! If everyone had truly died, I would… sob!”

I hugged Unnie back as she sobbed, gasping for air.

“That’s what I wanted to say, Unnie. Thank you for being alive.”

We talked for a long time, crying and laughing.

By the time Unnie and I had calmed down, the sun was already setting.

* * *

Our family has grown.

Our new crops had grown too!

Someone grumbled that we have more mouths to feed, but to me, it was nothing but a double blessing.

‘I’m glad we have so many spare rooms in the house.’

After dinner, I lay in the spaceship and laughed wickedly.

Ehehe.

Now that the joyful reunion is over, shall I get down to business?

Flip—

The Survival Handbook opened.

Right now, it was time for—

‘Vending machine collection time!’

Now that I’ve found Brother and Unnie, my desire to escape the contaminated zone was growing by the day. To do that, I have to earn steadily!

I tapped the golden coins hovering over the vending machine.

[Accumulated Coins reached 5,000!]

[Upgrade to Cosmic Universal Vending Machine Lv. 3 is available.]

A-yeaaaah!

Yes. This is it, this is it.

I was feeling a bit slighted because the vending machine hadn’t updated even though my current coins exceeded ten thousand.

It seemed only the sales revenue from the vending machine was reflected in the upgrades.

Anyway, I wonder what a Level 3 vending machine can do.

[An increase in accumulated coins expands the items available for ordering.]

Finally!

[Available Items for Order: (0/1)]

– Purification Water (1cc per unit): Purified water. Can purify a certain portion of contamination.

– Galactic Canned Food (1cc per unit): Emergency rations easily obtained in the galaxy. Maintains satiety for a long time upon consumption.

– Juice Can (1cc per unit): A magic can that processes anything put inside into juice. Maintains freshness exactly as it is when stored in the can.

– Earth-style Bagged Ramen (5cc per unit): An Earth-style delicacy. Briefly grants strength upon consumption.

My jaw dropped as I looked at the lineup of items I could order.

I suddenly remembered how I used to secretly cook ramen with Brother in the hospital.

Just imagining slurping those ramen noodles made my mouth water.

In fact, wasn’t it ramen that I really wanted, rather than instant rice?

I licked my lips.

Ramen eaten in a contaminated zone would surely taste like heaven.

I was certain it would be a huge hit if I sold it…

‘Wait…?!’

A problem suddenly occurred to me.

Even if I order this, we can only eat it at our house!

Unless people have burners and pots, they won’t be able to cook bagged ramen.

That’s a bit of a shame.

Still, it’s better than nothing that we can eat it at home.

It was right when I was comforting my disappointed heart and ordering a few bags of ramen for us to eat.

[Vending machine expansion options can be unlocked (0/1)]

– Additional Vending Machine Installation +1

– New Product Registration +1

– Automatic Cooking (Rare)

The first two hadn’t changed, but a new rare option had appeared!

‘Automatic Cooking?’

I tilted my head and clicked for more information.

[Automatic Cooking]

If there is a cookable menu item among your possessed items, it can be sold in a freshly cooked state.

‘Ohh…?’

Following that, the menu popped up.

[Available Automatic Cooking Menus]

– Cooked Ramen (Water + Ramen + Egg + Green Onion)

– Boiled Egg (Water + Egg)

I covered my mouth with both hands. It was because a wave of intense emotion surged within me.

‘I can sell Han River-style ramen in this ruined Yongsan?’
