<Episode 65>
Spade Joker’s new album began arriving one by one at Clover fans’ homes.
[Wow. It looks even crazier in real life. Are there people who didn’t buy the album? Those people are seriously going to regret it. You’re seeing this and still not buying it? Are you really not buying it? (Album photos.)]
↳ Wow, I already saw photos, but it’s so pretty.
↳ When will mine arrive… I’m so excited.
↳ I gasp every time I look at it. How did they even think of this? It’s so beautiful.
↳ Even non-Clover people are saying they want to buy it just because of the design. I admit it. It’s so cute and pretty. I love you.
↳↳ Mine hasn’t arrived yet, but I’m glad I bought multiple copies.
↳ I’m placing another order right now. After seeing the photos, I can’t resist. Not buying this? I’d definitely regret it later.
[I bought three copies of each version, you know? One for display, one for actual use, and one for collecting. Totally satisfied. CEO John Raid Lombardi, please make more things like this. I’m really looking forward to the future. Thank you. (Photo of the album attached to a bag.)]
↳ “Pretty” isn’t enough. It’s beautiful. It’s dazzling. It’s sacred. You could attach every compliment in existence to this.
↳ I don’t even know how many times I said “it’s pretty” looking at this.
↳↳ LOL same. Saying it’s pretty feels redundant at this point.
↳ This is truly a masterpiece. How did they come up with this?
[The Spade Joker members uploaded proof photos of the album too! You can tell how excited they are just from the text lol they’re so transparent. (Screenshot of their post.)]
↳ So cute. Apparently, the CEO gave it to them as a gift.
↳ They fought over who gets which keyring LOL so cute. CEO, please give more keyrings!
↳↳ Keyring refill, please.
↳↳↳ If possible, one per member, please!
[All this time, I was busy punching my bed in anger after getting albums, but now I’m happy, taking photos, and even thinking about how to display them… it feels so unfamiliar.]
↳ Same here.
↳ We’ll have to get used to it. We can’t just keep being shocked forever.
↳↳ Right.
Clover fans were fully enjoying their happiness as they posted album proof shots.
Meanwhile, Spade Joker’s “film music video” was released.
***
The Spade Joker members gathered in their dorm to watch the film’s music video.
“Play it already.”
“I’m looking for it.”
Cain replied to Sora’s urging.
He accessed YouTube on the TV.
“Here it is!”
[SPADE JOKER – POKER FILM MV VER.]
The thumbnail didn’t look much different from the basic music video.
“Should I play it?”
“Yeah.”
As Cain pressed the button, the video began.
A man’s legs in a suit appeared.
Click, click.
The sound of black dress shoes echoed clearly.
The camera slowly pulled back, revealing the man’s full body.
It was none other than Kang Woojin.
“Real actors really are different. Should I say… Can you feel the pressure? The atmosphere itself is completely different.”
Zen spoke in admiration.
“Yeah.”
Kang Woojin spun a hotel key on his finger as he walked, then stopped.
In front of him sat Leejoo, tied to a chair.
Woojin pulled out a document from his pocket and held it out.
[Where are your brothers?]
Leejoo turned his head away.
[Ha.]
Woojin let out a dry laugh and grabbed his cheek.
[The more time passes, the worse it gets for you. You know that too.]
His cold demeanor was chilling.
[Go ahead. Do as you like. That’ll be more entertaining.]
Woojin sneered and left the room.
Left alone, Leejoo struggled in anger, but the rope didn’t budge.
“Leejoo, your acting’s not bad.”
“Yeah, you’re good.”
“Oh.”
Embarrassed by the praise, Leejoo blushed.
The scene shifted to a casino.
“The director played the song during filming; it definitely helped.”
During scenes without dialogue, the director played music to help with immersion.
It made acting easier.
“Now it’s our part. Please let it turn out well.”
Cain stared at the screen, hoping his acting wasn’t bad.
While playing cards, Cain frowned and sighed.
[Looks like things aren’t going well?]
A woman beside him spoke.
[Yeah. Luck’s not on my side today.]
[That happens sometimes.]
[Still, you have to see it through. Who knows? You might win everything back.]
Cain placed his card.
He tilted his head, then made eye contact with Heeseo.
Heeseo blinked slightly.
Cain gave up his chips and stood up.
The story unfolded completely differently from the original MV.
“Your acting’s not bad either.”
Sora nudged Zen.
“I’m relieved we didn’t ruin it.”
They had been worried their acting might ruin the video.
Even though others praised them, they thought it might just be empty compliments.
But seeing it themselves proved otherwise.
“Same.”
“Thank goodness.”
Cain sat next to Juseok at the dice table and discreetly handed him a note.
Juseok slipped it into his pocket and continued playing.
Cain left shortly after.
When Juseok ran out of chips, he got up and moved aside, pretending to exchange them.
He checked the note.
[Leejoo unreachable. Current whereabouts unknown.]
Zen frowned.
He crumpled the note and put it in his mouth.
“Hyung, did you really eat that?”
“No. How would you eat paper?”
“I just pretended to swallow it. Spat it out after the cut.”
They chatted while watching.
“The story changed more than I expected.”
“Yeah.”
The narrative had become much richer.
What was originally planned as 15 minutes became 30 minutes.
The setting shifted to a hotel bar.
Zen sat alone, drinking.
Cain approached.
He tapped the menu with his finger.
Zen focused on the sound.
When the tapping stopped, Zen placed his hand on the table.
Cain ordered a drink and moved seats.
Zen sighed deeply.
[Haa…]
He ran his hand through his hair.
[This is bad.]
The scene changed again, and Kang Woojin appeared.
He sat alone in what seemed to be a hotel suite, drinking whiskey.
Bzzz.
He picked up his phone.
[Hello. Yeah. What?]
Though the other side wasn’t heard, Woojin exploded in anger.
[You can’t even handle that one thing properly? Where is your head at? If we lose that, we’re all dead… don’t you get it? Damn it. Instead of calling me an idiot, track where they went. Got it?]
He hung up and slammed the phone onto the table.
Still furious, he threw his glass at the wall.
Crash.
Shards scattered everywhere.
He stood and walked toward the window, stepping on glass without stopping.
Standing there, he looked down.
[I’ll never go down. Do you know how hard it was to get here?]
The reflection in the glass changed.
Instead of Woojin, it showed Heeseo eating.
He seemed calm, but an earpiece in his ear was blinking.
From a rooftop across the building, someone watched the blinking light.
Zooming in… it was Zen.
He was drawing something while observing the light.
“Doesn’t it look even better than we expected?”
At Juseok’s words, the others nodded.
They continued watching comfortably.
