<Episode 66>

Clover was watching the film music video as if it were a movie.

“Wait, why is this so fun? What even is this? Ugh….”

Unable to contain her excitement, she started pounding her mattress with her fists.

It wasn’t just when she was angry; she had recently realized that whenever her emotions got too overwhelming, whether joy or frustration, she would hit the mattress.

As a result, the mattress was suffering constant abuse from having the wrong owner.

“So what exactly are they all looking for, and why was Leejoo kidnapped? Huh? Ah, this is driving me crazy, I’m so curious.”

The hotel room where Leejoo was being held appeared again.

Leejoo was still struggling to untie the rope.

At that moment, Kang Woojin reappeared.

[Still not planning to talk?]

Woojin sat on the bed across from the chair, crossing his legs. He fiddled with his nails as he spoke.

[I told you to give up, but you’re persistent. It’s disgusting how you act like brothers and protect each other when you’re not even real family. Anyone would think you actually share blood.]

Woojin stood up and leaned his face close to Leejoo’s.

It was so close that their lips might touch if he moved any nearer.

“What is that? What is this?!”

Clover shouted excitedly, now slapping her own thigh.

The close-up of two handsome faces was enough to make her heart race.

A strange tension filled the air.

It felt like Woojin might harm Leejoo at any moment, making Clover’s heart pound violently.

[Hey. Aren’t you curious where your real family is?]

Leejoo’s eyes suddenly trembled.

Woojin burst into laughter at the sight, then straightened up.

[Seems like you really were curious.]

Leejoo lowered his head deeply to hide his expression.

Woojin forced down his rising smile.

[What difference does it make now? It’s fine, I get it. The word “real family” carries weight. Your current brothers are fake family, after all. Isn’t that right?]

Woojin looked like he was enjoying himself.

Leejoo shut his eyes tightly.

Still, Woojin continued.

[I can’t just hand over information about your family for free. That’s only natural. Why would I give you something so valuable? Unless we were family. Besides, I’d be in trouble without that drug, too. My family’s safety depends on it.]

Leejoo said nothing.

He only shook his head violently, trying not to listen.

[Ah, fine. I can tell you this much. You have an older brother. Your parents are dead, though.]

[What?!]

Leejoo lifted his head and shouted.

[Now you finally look at me.]

Realizing he had been played, Leejoo quickly lowered his head again.

[You think I’m joking? I’m not. I’m just telling the truth. Your parents died in a car accident when you were young. You and your brother were sent to different orphanages. You were too young to remember, but your brother was seventeen. He remembers everything… having a younger brother and losing your parents.]

Woojin knew Leejoo’s story in surprising detail.

[Tell me how to make the new drug. That alone will let you meet your real brother. This is your chance. You should take opportunities when they come, right?]

It was a sweet whisper.

[Your brother is still looking for you. But he’ll never find you, will he? You don’t even have an identity. If he finds out you were wrongly adopted and forced to live making drugs, how heartbroken would he be?]

Leejoo’s lips trembled.

He was furious that Woojin was using his family as leverage.

[Wouldn’t it be better to come over to our side? We’ll pay you, protect you from danger, and even give you a new identity.]

Woojin lightly tapped near Leejoo’s right collarbone.

[Why should I trust you? You’ll discard me after I tell you.]

[Trust goes both ways. It’s not one-sided. You need to trust us too. Without trust, there’s no deal.]

Woojin seemed to grow irritated as Leejoo refused to speak.

He shut his eyes tightly, then opened them.

[Fine. Keep being stubborn. Your so-called brothers will never find you. Let’s see how long your fake family act lasts.]

Woojin left the room again.

Leejoo dragged his chair toward the bed and tried to smash it using momentum… but it didn’t break.

At that moment, the instrumental of POKER began to play.

Leejoo lowered his head, breathing heavily.

Suddenly, Zen shattered the window and entered the room.

He quickly cut Leejoo free.

[Let’s go.]

[How did you get here? More importantly, the drug?]

[Found it. We just need to return now. Hurry.]

Leejoo nodded and grabbed his hand.

They escaped the room.

The empty hotel room was filled with wind.

Soon after, Woojin returned.

Seeing the empty chair, he let out a sigh and pulled out a document from a drawer.

It listed children from an orphanage.

The names Kang Woojin and Kang Leejoo were highlighted.

Woojin tore the document into pieces and walked out.

With an expressionless face, he kept walking forward… until he disappeared from the camera.

The music video ended.

↳ What is this? Why is the quality this high? I’m seriously shocked. This is not what I expected.

↳ Are they making a short film or something? This isn’t just a music video, right?

↳ Wait, did an actual film director do this instead of an MV director?

↳ The views are going to skyrocket.

↳ Giving Kang Woojin most of the lines was the best decision.

 ↳↳ Absolutely agree.

↳ Where does John Raid Lombardi live? I want to bow in that direction.

↳ So Kang Woojin is Leejoo’s real older brother, and it’s kept secret because it would make him a target?

↳ Applause for Kang Woojin carrying this with his acting alone.

↳ Honestly, I enjoyed it more for Woojin’s acting and directing than the story.

↳ The detail is insane… there’s a 15-year age gap. Woojin is 34, Leejoo is 19.

↳↳ I noticed that too. Amazing detail.

↳ I never thought they looked alike, but now they kind of do?

***

The film music video was a massive success.

Its response was even better than the original music video.

It was certain to surpass its view count soon.

“This should be enough.”

Bzzz.

His phone vibrated.

It was a message from Kang Woojin.

[I’ve decided to take the drama role. Thank you. I’ll transform my image through it and then show my true self. Thank you for giving me courage and an opportunity.]

“That’s good.”

It seemed unlikely that Kang Woojin would halt his activities this time.

Though it meant he’d probably stick closer to him.

Still, ignoring his concerns wasn’t an option.

“Connections really are troublesome.”

Bzzz.

The phone vibrated again.

[Oh, and I uploaded more photos on SNS.]

Curious, he checked.

[Posting this late, but here’s the gift Spade Joker members brought me from Thailand. They insisted, saying thanks for teaching them acting. I was really grateful. I also got close with CEO John Raid Lombardi through the MV… he’s easy to talk to, and I had a great time. Thank you. (Photo of gift box)]

↳ Spade Joker really takes care of people well.

↳ So they learned acting from him.

↳ Loved the MV!

↳ Your acting is amazing!

↳ You’re so handsome.

↳ Please share behind-the-scenes stories later!

↳ John Raid Lombardi must be a genuinely good person. I’ve never seen Kang Woojin react to someone like that before.
