Chapter 104

Even if they didn’t actually make sandwiches for us, I wouldn’t have minded.

It was simply adorable seeing the youngest member so enthusiastic about doing something for the fans.

“No… really, your schedules are already so busy. You don’t have to make sandwiches yourselves…”

“Noona, just trust me! Besides, the hyungs have lots of stamina. My finger hurts. Hurry up and promise!”

At Hoseung’s insistence, Park Seoyoon reluctantly hooked pinkies with him.

“You really don’t have to. Just take good care of yourselves. Don’t get sick and keep promoting safely!”

“Of course! Noona, not only are you pretty, but you speak beautifully too. Thank you!”

‘I know it’s just flattery, but it still feels nice.’

Park Seoyoon knew perfectly well that she looked ordinary by objective standards, but the corners of her lips kept rising anyway.

By the time their heartwarming conversation ended, a staff member urged her to move on.

☆☆☆

“Hello!”

This time, it was Seo Hayul with gray hair, his ears bright red as he bowed his head deeply.

“Ah… Hayul-nyang!”

The nickname slipped out naturally because it felt so familiar.

The sight of Seo Hayul’s face turning scarlet in real time made her burst into laughter.

“Pfft…!”

“Um… yes. If a fan says I’m Hayul-nyang, then I suppose I really am a cat.”

Seo Hayul nodded vigorously, his face as red as a tomato.

‘Cute!’

Though nervous enough that his hands trembled, he still tried his best to keep the conversation going.

“Have you eaten today?”

“Yeah. While waiting, I ate Heartping bread that you guys always talk about!”

“Really? Which character is your favorite, Noona?”

“Macho-ping! What about you?”

“Oh… me too!”

The moment the topic shifted to favorite characters, Seo Hayul’s eyes sparkled, and he began talking more freely.

Watching him shyly do his best made Park Seoyoon increasingly mischievous.

‘His reactions are so cute that I kind of want to tease him.’

She finally understood why her favorite member was always teasing Seo Hayul.

“Hayul.”

“Yes?”

“Can you meow for me just once?”

His face turned so red it looked ready to explode, but he nodded energetically.

“Yes! I’ll do it.”

Holding up her camera, Park Seoyoon watched as Seo Hayul repeatedly said “Meow.”

He really was a cat.

“Hahaha!”

She couldn’t stop the genuine laughter escaping her.

Even while embarrassed, Seo Hayul was trying his hardest, which made him both adorable and admirable.

‘This is exactly the fresh charm of a rookie who just debuted. I got something really good here.’

Just as she was feeling satisfied, another staff member urged her onward.

Leaving with lingering regret, she moved to the next seat.

☆☆☆

“Hello, Princess!”

At the bright, cheerful voice, she turned her head.

A prince with radiant blond hair greeted her, flashing a perfect smile while extending his hand.

“Wow…!”

‘He really looks like a real-life prince.’

With his father’s genes strongly inherited, Rua’s exotic features seemed even more unreal up close.

“If it isn’t too much trouble, may I greet you with a kiss on the back of your hand?”

‘Is he doing a prince concept?’

“Of course.”

When Park Seoyoon carefully placed her hand atop Rua’s, he gently drew it closer and lightly kissed the back of it.

“…Kyaa!”

A sincere exclamation escaped from the depths of her heart.

‘Maybe it’s because he lived abroad, but his mindset is totally different!’

It was unfamiliar, but for Park Seoyoon, it was a greeting she couldn’t have been happier with.

‘He has a completely different charm from the younger guys!’

Her heart started racing once more.

Living up to his reputation as someone born to be an entertainer, Rua pulled out all the stops.

“I prepared a three-stage aegyo set just for today!”

“What is it?”

“A wink, a heart, and a flower pose combo. Want to see it?”

“I’d absolutely love that!”

He didn’t hesitate for even a moment when it came to acting cute.

‘Wow… he’s seriously amazing.’

Just as she was completely captivated by Rua’s charm…

“Your time is up. The next person is waiting, so please move along.”

The staff member’s reminder rang out once more.

“Bye-bye! Thank you for spending time with me today, Princess. Let’s meet again next time!”

“Yes, definitely!”

Leaving behind her disappointment, she moved to the next seat.

☆☆☆

This time, Kang Chan sat there, stiff as a rock.

‘So they arranged the seats on purpose?’

It was a seating arrangement that clearly reflected the company’s desire to keep the atmosphere lively by placing a shy member between more outgoing ones.

“Hello.”

The deep voice echoed as Kang Chan bowed politely.

“Hello.”

“…”

Though trying to maintain a poker face, both of his ears were bright red.

“Did you come from far away?”

“Ah… not really. I live nearby.”

“That’s good.”

Perhaps because he was nervous, Kang Chan kept clenching and unclenching his fists.

His palms were covered with dense black ink.

‘What’s that?’

After glancing at his own palm with stiff movements, Kang Chan spoke again.

“Do you like desserts?”

“Yes. I like cookies.”

“I see. Cookies. I’ll make sure to remember that.”

He carefully wrote ‘cookies’ on a piece of paper lying on the table.

“Um…”

“Yes?”

“I’ve been curious for a while. Can I see your palm?”

His constant glances at his hand had made Park Seoyoon curious.

“…You may.”

With ears red enough to burst, Kang Chan slowly opened his palm.

There were more than ten questions densely written across it.

“Haha, what’s this?”

“Actually… I’m really bad at talking.”

His face turned as red as a radish.

“This is my first time having a one-on-one conversation with a woman for this long, so I wrote them down in case I made a mistake.”

‘So Kang Chan has this kind of gap charm?’

“Hahaha!”

Park Seoyoon couldn’t stop herself from laughing genuinely.

“If I offended you, I’m sorry.”

“No! I’m not offended. It’s just too cute.”

“…What?”

Despite his large build, Kang Chan had a surprisingly adorable side.

‘Is that why he always pulled his hat down so low when dancing?’

Apparently, Kang Chan was much shyer than she’d imagined.

“Chan, what do you like most?”

“I like dancing the most. Dancing is the joy of my life!”

The eyes that had been filled with embarrassment immediately became serious the moment dancing was mentioned.

‘He’s such an interesting person.’

“I don’t know much about dancing. Is there a dance that’s good for beginners?”

Kang Chan’s face brightened as he nodded quickly.

“Simple rhythm dances or choreography from familiar songs are probably best. We also made the chorus choreography of our song easy for fans to follow. If you’d like, would you like to learn it right now?”

The chorus of ‘First Greeting Hello’ featured a waving motion like a greeting, making it easy for anyone to imitate.

“Like this?”

As Park Seoyoon waved her hands side to side, Kang Chan demonstrated personally.

“You’re doing well. You just need to repeat the last part twice to the beat.”

“Like… this?”

“Yes! Perfect. I think you have talent for dancing.”

Seeing Kang Chan clap sincerely as though he were truly delighted caused her smile to grow as well.

She spent a while receiving a one-point lesson from him before the staff member called out again.

“Please move along!”

At last, the moment had come.

The fact that she was about to meet her favorite member, whom she’d waited so long to see, made her heart pound wildly.

☆☆☆

“Hello.”

A pleasant voice rang in her ears.

The idol she’d dreamed of was sitting right in front of her.

‘He’s really handsome.’

His face was much smaller than it looked on screen, and his eyes were far gentler than she’d imagined.

“Ah… Hello!”

Because she was so nervous, her voice trembled and cracked.

Embarrassment surged through her, but there was no time to stop talking during a fansign event where every second mattered.

“I came to this fansign… um, I couldn’t sleep at all last night.”

Before she’d even finished speaking, he lowered his head slightly and met her eyes.

That gaze directed solely at her sent her heartbeat into dangerous territory.

“Me neither.”

Those two words felt as though they shattered something inside her chest.

‘Wow… this is insanely stimulating.’

It was the greatest catharsis she felt she would ever experience in her life.

“I was so excited thinking about meeting everyone…”

Though she was smiling, she felt tears might spill out at any moment, so she hurriedly lowered her head.

Then her favorite member smiled playfully and continued.

“I couldn’t sleep either because I kept thinking about meeting our fans. This is a secret, but all of our members were so excited last night that we spent the whole night pacing around the living room.”

The playful comment didn’t feel like fan service at all.

It felt genuine.

‘Ah… I’m really glad I came today.’

Just as she began thinking her heart might actually burst, he asked:

“By the way, what’s your name?”

‘Ahhh! He asked for my name!’

“My name is… Park Seoyoon.”

Her voice still shook like an idiot, but she didn’t care.

“Seoyoon, thank you so much for taking the time to come today. Our team exists because of people like you.”

‘My favorite idol is saying my name.’

For the first time, she truly felt glad she’d survived this long.

Maybe she’d endured everything in life just to experience this moment.

Even while signing, he called her name several times and carefully wrote each letter.

Despite the limited time, he didn’t seem rushed at all.

His entire focus was on her.

‘I need to give it to him now.’

Though she had no talent with crafts whatsoever, there was a doll she absolutely wanted to make herself no matter how difficult it was.

A one-of-a-kind doll she’d poured her heart into while supporting her favorite idol.

“I made this doll myself. Would it be possible… to take a picture with it?”

When she pulled out the chibi doll with wolf ears from her bag, her favorite’s eyes widened.

“Wow, a wolf? It’s so cute!”

“Yeah. I saw you wearing wolf ears in your self-produced content and made it myself.”

“You’re incredibly talented! Of course I’ll take a picture with it. Is there a pose you’d like?”

‘I’m glad he likes it.’

Relief escaped her as she watched him genuinely delight in it.

‘This might be asking too much, but if not now, I’ll never get another chance.’

Closing her eyes tightly, Park Seoyoon shouted courageously:

“Could you hold it against your cheek?”

Fortunately, when she cautiously peeked one eye open, he was smiling brightly as he pressed the doll against his cheek.

‘Oh, my god. That’s genuinely adorable!’

Suppressing the scream threatening to erupt from inside her, Park Seoyoon raised her camera.

Click. Click.

She had to preserve this moment forever.

As she focused on taking pictures, he kindly made a suggestion first.

“Should we try a different pose?”

“Oh my, I’d really appreciate that!”

‘How can he be this thoughtful too?’

He proceeded to strike every pose imaginable, including peace signs and hearts.

Growing greedy, Park Seoyoon played her final trump card.

“Um… could you look into the camera and tell me to stay strong just once?”
