Desire Me If You Can Chapter 8
Ashley, who had been watching his hesitant son in silence, flicked his gaze toward the watch on his wrist. It was a silent pressure to decide quickly, as time was running out. Grayson knew full well that the only person his Papa would indulge and baby was Koi, the Omega who gave birth to him and the only love of his father’s life. And with that realization, Grayson steeled his heart.
“I will do it.”
Grayson swore in a tone more certain than ever before.
“No matter what happens, I will endure it. So please, help me become a firefighter.”
Ashley looked at his face without a word, as if to check just how much resolve his son had gathered.
“…Fine.”
After a pause, Ashley gave his response. A faint smirk appeared on his face, which had been expressionless until then.
“This will be amusing. Go ahead and try.”
“Thank you.”
Grayson couldn’t suppress his excitement and laughed with a beaming face. This time, Ashley confirmed that both of his ears were twitching. His footsteps as he left the office were as light as if he were walking on air.
This time is for real. I can really meet him.
He had dreamed of it his whole life. A partner who loves only me, and someone to whom I can dedicate my whole life.
Believing that he, too, would surely be able to meet a one-of-a-kind love like his Papa and Daddy.
“Oops.”
As soon as he stepped into the hallway, he almost bumped into a woman passing by. Having narrowly avoided an accident, Grayson grabbed her hand like a gentleman and smiled.
“Almost fell there, Wendy.”
“Mr. Miller.”
Ashley’s secretary followed his lead and put a smile on her lips, but her eyes remained cold and frozen.
“Did you come to see the Senator? I suppose your business is finished.”
“Ah, yes. It went well.”
In the past, she had been head over heels for his smiling face, but now it was different. It was only natural; anyone would have their guard raised if a man who swore “You are my destiny” while acting as if he would give you his heart and soul suddenly said, “I guess you weren’t the one. Goodbye,” and walked away overnight.
And now he had the audacity to act as if they were still on good terms.
Of course, since reason tends to return along with anger, it was only natural that her feelings toward Grayson Miller were not good. If she knew the reason why this man was smiling so brightly, it was only natural that her stomach would churn even more. Because there was only one reason Grayson Miller was in such a good mood.
“Did you find a new destiny?”
“How did you know?”
At Wendy’s question, Grayson burst into laughter immediately. It looked as if, left to his own devices, he might just pull Wendy into his arms and shower her with kisses. Wendy remained guarded, but in moments like this, Grayson was a man who annoyingly knew how to keep his distance.
Because you aren’t my destined partner.
He stood there with a wide grin, hands tucked into his trouser pockets, as if to say exactly that. Wendy barely managed to hold back the urge to slap his cheek. Regardless, it was her workplace and he was her boss’s son, so all she could do was curse him in her heart.
“Congratulations. I hope it’s for real this time.”
Run away! Wendy shouted in her heart toward the unknown person. Whether he was unaware of her inner thoughts or simply didn’t care, Grayson just said, “Thanks,” with a still-smiling face, and then whistled as he walked away. Wendy watched his back as he walked away lightly, as if he were flying, then quickly took out her cell phone and busily sent a message.
FXXking ass Victims Support Group
Grayson Miller looks like he’s about to create another victim.
Not even 10 seconds after she posted the message, countless comments flooded in so quickly she couldn’t even read them.
FXXking ass Victims Support Group member 22:
Why, is he running around again saying he found his destiny?
Yes, that’s correct.
Messages filled with astonishment and fury at the fact that Grayson was still doing such things, and condolences for the new victim who would soon exist, flooded in. Sometimes profanities were posted, but no one pointed them out. It was a secret only for this community. As long as Grayson existed, this beautiful camaraderie would never be broken.
Wendy thought:
Another person is about to be added to this ‘Grayson Miller’s Victims Support Group.’ It seemed Wendy wasn’t the only one who felt that.
FXXking ass Victims Support Group member 14:
Let’s all welcome the new person warmly when they arrive.
Wendy, who had let out a sigh mixed with pity, looked back. Grayson Miller had already disappeared. I really hope it’s for real this time.
So that he gets dumped very, very miserably.
By the destined partner he wanted so much.

“What? Grayson? Really?”
As soon as he heard the news about his beloved second son, Koi’s voice rose in excitement. Nodding at Ashley’s voice coming from the other side of the phone, he soon let out a proud sigh, saying, “I see.”
“I hope it’s really for real this time. He shouldn’t be disappointed again.”
To his words, which were a mixture of expectation and worry, Ashley said simply:
He’ll figure it out.
“Uh… yeah, of course, that’s true.”
Koi scratched his head, feeling embarrassed. He wondered if he was being overly protective, as he usually did whenever the topic of the children came up. Of course, that was Ashley’s stance, but because Koi would unconditionally accept whatever Ashley said, it was the same this time as well.
We just need to cheer him on moderately. He has to handle the rest himself.
“Uh, yeah. Right, that’s true.”
At Ashley’s words, Koi nodded anew. Ashley is always right, so it would be the same this time. But watching his son taste failure over and over again was still a painful thing.
“I hope things go well this time.”
The moment he muttered that, pouring his wish into the words, he suddenly realized something.
“Wait, then that means Grayson came to the East? Where is he now?”
In contrast to his high-pitched, excited voice, Ashley answered nonchalantly:
He must have gone back.
“Already?”
Koi slumped his shoulders in disappointment.
“How could he leave without saying a single word to me… I didn’t even know he came here.”
There’s no use raising them, don’t you think?
Ashley didn’t miss a beat and asked. It was meant to imply that even six children were too many, but Koi took it in an entirely different way.
“The kids grew up too fast. I told you we should have had twelve! Yeah, it’s fine. It’s not too late now, so let’s have six more…”
What’s for dinner tonight? Do you have a schedule?
Ashley asked suddenly. Koi blinked his eyes for a moment, “Uh,” and then shook his head.
“No, I don’t. …Yeah. Yeah? What did you say?”
Koi’s face flushed bright red in an instant. However, after waffling, he slumped his shoulders and answered quietly.
“…Okay, then.”
Having received his surrender in an instant, Ashley added nonchalantly:
I’ll be looking forward to it. See you later, Koi.
The call ended there. Koi stared down at his cell phone for a moment before shaking his head and focusing on the new fact.
Grayson finally found his destined partner!
Although he felt incredibly sad that Grayson had come all the way to the East and left without even showing his face, Koi forced himself to be disciplined. If he wanted to see him, he could just go meet him himself. After all, isn’t it so admirable that Grayson said he would take on a noble job like being a firefighter?
His motives are impure, though…
—That kid has far too many delusions.
Ashley once said that. Koi also agreed with that sentiment to a certain extent. While it was desirable for Grayson to watch Ashley and Koi and have the hope that he, too, could love and be loved by someone like that, loving someone isn’t just about the sweetness. Just as they had learned.
But Grayson was wishing for the result without knowing at all what kind of process they had gone through to get there. That worried Koi, but he couldn’t stop his son.
Being immersed in something is a good thing, right?
Besides, a firefighter—what a wonderful choice. That alone was enough. Re-centering his heart, he soon realized a new fact.
I can’t be the only one to know this news. I should naturally share it with the children.
