Damn! Damn! Chapter 32

Author: nicotine

At the face that flashed across his mind, Achim inwardly addressed the guy who was probably sprawling out and sleeping like a log in a messy bed right about now.

I’m seriously fucked, Linus.

“…”

Achim blinked, his mouth parting and closing like a goldfish. He didn’t know what to say or where to even begin. His thoughts were moving sluggishly, as if his mind had ground to a complete halt, mirroring his inner chaos.

“I’m still figuring out what kind of pain to inflict on them.”

…Wait.

Hadn’t the man kept Achim by his side simply because he resembled the person he was searching for? And didn’t he despise that person enough to contemplate torturing them, despite them not even being his type, just as he’d said?

For him to harbor feelings like interest—or whatever this was—toward Achim, who resembled that person… did that realistically make any sense?

Prompted by the sudden doubt, Achim subtly cast his eyes upward.

The Michael he faced still wore that smiling face. It suddenly occurred to Achim that a blue bruise would look quite nice on that handsome mug.

Hoping for that day to come eventually, Achim opened his mouth.

“…Before that, sir, there’s something I’m curious about.”

“…”

“May I ask?”

Achim asked politely. Since there was no telling when the man might sour again, it was a hassle, but Achim had to handle him as carefully as glassware.

Only then did Michael remove his hand from Achim’s cheek. Straightening his leaning upper body, he thrust his hands into his suit pockets and tilted his head to the side.

Then, he generously commanded, “Go ahead.”

Achim stared directly at the dark silhouette before asking.

“You said you were looking for someone who resembles me. That you wanted to… torture them. So I thought you hated me, sir.”

“…”

“Am I wrong?”

After articulating his thoughts clearly, Achim stiffened his jaw once more. This was because he couldn’t predict what the man would say next at all.

“Hmm…”

Letting out a humming groan as he always did, Michael slowly tilted his head.

Silence followed.

Just as Achim was beginning to look upon him with disapproval at the sight of him uncharacteristically pondering so seriously, Michael opened his lips, his gaze lowered slightly.

“I did say that.”

He did say that? For the amount of time he spent deliberating, wasn’t that a rather half-hearted answer? Achim made a sour face at the unsatisfying response.

“My desire to torture that bastard remains unchanged.”

“…”

“Because I plan to make them pay even more generously for their sins, tacking on all the money and time I spent searching for them.”

They might not even hold up as well as I expect. Michael spoke with a chuckle, looking delighted at the mere imagination of it.

Crazy bastard. Achim inwardly cursed at the man’s sadistic streak.

“Hmm, well, come to think of it…”

At the murmuring voice, Achim raised his eyes again.

With both hands shoved into his pants pockets, Michael tilted his head slightly and said in a smooth, gentle voice:

“It’s a surprise to me too, that I’ve developed this kind of interest in you.”

“…”

“Considering how pathetic you are.”

Achim glared up at the added remark as the man scanned his body up and down once more. At that, Michael’s expression seemed to shift for an instant, his pupils soon gleaming intensely.

Fuck. Just as Achim realized his mistake a second too late, Michael, with one corner of his mouth pulled up wide, leaned down to match Achim’s eye level and parted his lips.

“I told you. It’ll take you some time to adjust to me.”

“…”

“It’s troublesome if you’re begging for it already.”

His murky, uniquely colored pupils, shrouded in the darkness, slid downward and dropped squarely onto Achim’s lower body.

At that, Achim was left utterly speechless. It felt like he would need a hell of a lot more time to ever catch up with this guy’s train of thought.

…Though, of course, it would be best to find the semen before then.

Judging by this time and the last, the man seemed to find amusement whenever Achim got angry. No matter how much a person’s preferences should be respected, since the target was this guy, Achim’s thoughts inevitably skewed toward the negative.

“I told you not to look at me like that unless you want your upper hole or lower hole torn to shreds.”

If he misstepped and glared the wrong way just once, a truly troublesome situation like the man said would likely unfold, so Achim resolved to watch his behavior.

On top of that, if the man found out he was actually a man, there was no telling what he would do to him. There was a strong hunch that he would, in all likelihood, become the second victim the man was hunting for, forcing Achim to shake off the ominous thought.

“Is that all for your questions?”

There was nothing left to ask, but the flaw was that he didn’t feel the least bit relieved.

How shameless of him to demand the next question without even giving a proper answer to the first. Sensing that a similar situation would play out no matter what he asked, Achim decided to stop questioning altogether.

He felt as if he had stepped into a swamp of his own volition. He felt incredibly foolish when he remembered how, just a few minutes ago, he had been so certain that things would go exactly as planned.

But it was no use crying over spilled milk. Even though the development deviated from what he had anticipated, it would be much more beneficial to spend this time restructuring his plan rather than regretting it.

Now that he had been the first to say he liked him, he couldn’t exactly take it back. Though he hadn’t dreamed in a million years that the guy would react this way…

“Yes.”

Achim resigned himself quickly and gave a short reply. Simultaneously, he began to scheme a way to avoid provoking the man’s temper as much as possible while still managing to fall out of his favor.

When Achim answered relatively submissively, Michael curved his lips in satisfaction.

“Right, then…”

“…”

“Go to sleep first.”

“…Pardon?”

As Achim blinked and asked back, the man straightened his leaning waist and said:

“I mean, sleep here.”

“…”

“It would be troublesome if you, whom I’ve grown interested in, died from the side effects.”

The way this bastard talks…

A natural wave of defiance rose at the man’s words, but when Achim thought about it, it wasn’t a losing deal.

He didn’t think his body, which had literally passed out, had recovered just yet. He was already using a room all to himself, so if things took a turn for the worse, he might miserably pass away in isolation and be discovered as a corpse. Furthermore, even if he said no, it wasn’t likely the man would just let him go easily instead of doing whatever he pleased.

“…Yes, sir.”

Though he wasn’t thrilled, Achim ultimately had no choice but to comply.

As Achim gave a small nod, dropping his head, Michael suddenly rolled up his sleeve to check his wristwatch before raising his eyes again.

“I still have things to take care of.”

“…”

“Sleep well.”

As if anyone could sleep well with you around. Achim muttered inwardly, but outwardly, he answered, “Yes, sir.”

At this, Michael flashed a smiling eye-smile, then completely wiped the expression from his face as if it had never been there and turned his back.

Psychopathic piece of shit. Achim stared intensely at the back of that arrogant head as it walked away.

“…”

It was just as Achim was about to pull his gaze away after glaring at the back of his head to his heart’s content. As Michael passed in front of the orange lighting, Achim’s focus suddenly narrowed onto his suit.

…Bloodstains?

He hadn’t noticed until now because the man had been standing with his back to the light. Looking closely, Michael’s suit was splattered with blood stains here and there.

Madman. What on earth was he going around doing? As long as it didn’t involve the child, whatever he did was none of Achim’s business, but he couldn’t help but feel a surge of human sympathy for the global believers currently being deceived by him.

After the man left the bedroom, Achim started to get up, thinking he should wash up, but then suddenly sat back down on the bed.

“An Omega, I see.”

Martina is an Omega…

It was certainly surprising. Furthermore, not only had she been bold enough to step into Michael’s bedroom, but she had even tried to feed him drugged water.

Of course, she probably only knew of Michael’s angelic public persona, so Achim, if no one else, could understand her reckless attempt. He, too, had been inadvertently deceived and had readily accepted the job.

She didn’t know what he was really like, so it makes sense she’d try, Achim thought.

“An aphrodisiac.”

By the way, why did she try to feed him an aphrodisiac? Could it be that if he took an aphrodisiac, severe side effects would follow? Like, enough to lead to death. The guy claimed it was just because he hated it, but…

Did that mean Martina knew his weakness? And that she intended to kill him from the start?

Achim let out a small sigh at the thought that it could have turned into a disaster. She really was unhelpful in more ways than one.

“Don’t associate me with Omegas.”

Since he hated Omegas that much… if he had known, he probably wouldn’t have even come near the mansion.

In times like this, I’m truly glad I’m a Beta.

Achim briefly summarized his day before finally leaving the bed.
