“Anyway, forget about that filthy thing. Since nothing happened, isn’t that fine? Everything will be alright from now on.”

Mrs. Campbell said this, stood up from her seat, and kissed Winston on the head. He didn’t like being treated like a child, but Winston said nothing.

After his mother left, Winston remained alone in the breakfast room, leaning back into his chair and gazing outside through the floor-to-ceiling windows on one wall. He watched birds chirping among the trees where a cool breeze was blowing. It was a peaceful morning—the complete opposite of his own messy state of mind.

Damn it.

Just thinking about it made his loins ache and flare up again. Since you vented your pheromones, you’ll be fine? His mother’s nonchalant words made his blood boil inwardly. It was the kind of foolish remark only a Beta—who would never experience such a thing in their life—would make. Yes, if it had been any other Omega, her words would have been true. But the one lying in that bed was Yujin.

The very same Yujin who was once his only Omega.

He had been sleeping, blissfully unaware, with his naked body fully exposed.

When he first saw him, Winston thought he was losing his mind because of his pheromones and seeing things. Or perhaps, due to his long-standing insomnia, he was finally dreaming with his eyes wide open.

But the scent, a mix of his own familiar pheromones lingering in the room and that other distinct fragrance, told him with absolute certainty that this was reality. It was Yujin’s Omega scent.

He couldn’t be mistaken. Even in party venues overflowing with Omega pheromones, Winston was never aroused. In fact, there were more than a few times he nearly stormed out because he found the smell disgusting. There was only one scent that could excite him like this.

Yujin.

The moment he realized it, he nearly lost his sanity. His heart raced like crazy, and his gut felt searingly hot. Is this reality? Is it really Yujin?

Did Yujin really come back to me?

He couldn’t believe it; rooted to the spot, he couldn’t even blink, just staring at Yujin. The exceptionally bright moonlight was exposing his entire body. Winston couldn’t pull himself together at the sight of his soft lip line, his long neck, the small, firm nipples rising on his thin chest, and the elegant, fluid lines flowing from his slender waist down to his toned hips and legs. Everything was the same. Just like the day Yujin first gave his body to him—the very day he was intoxicated by a sense of satisfaction and triumph as if he held the entire world. As the memory surfaced, Winston’s mind went blank. The man, who shone completely white in the moonlight, was seducing Winston all over again.

‘Winny.’

From his hair to his fingertips, there wasn’t a single thing that wasn’t beautiful.

Winston realized anew just how deeply he had fallen for him. He sat on the bed with his naked body, whispering Winston’s name and opening his arms. As if asking to be held. Of course, Winston couldn’t resist such a Yujin, and after that, he became completely a slave to him. He did anything for Yujin. If he had been told to die, he truly would have hung himself. He loved him sincerely and gave him all his trust. Until the very moment he found out how Yujin had been playing him.

But that version of him no longer existed. The Yujin that Winston loved wasn’t real, either. When he realized everything, the illusion shattered completely, and he believed the love for him had also been smashed to pieces and disappeared.

Disappointingly, Yujin’s body still stole his soul. How many years ago was that? Having been hurt so severely and not having met for several years, Yujin still completely rattled Winston just by existing. He hadn’t reached out to him, hadn’t smiled, hadn’t done anything—he was just lying in bed, sleeping.

The fact that he had pointed his gun at him out of fury at that moment also proved his defeat.

It would have been better if he had succumbed to his desire and just held Yujin. If he had, he would have had plenty to say: that it was because of the pheromones, that it was obvious Yujin wanted this result by lying in bed naked, or that it didn’t matter if he held him since he was a slut anyway.

But Winston was furious and aimed his gun. That proved that, even now, Winston still hadn’t forgotten Yujin at all. It showed that he hadn’t forgotten a single thing—not the memory of having loved him so much, nor the heart that had traversed hell due to betrayal—and that he was still completely captivated and bound to Yujin.

This is the last time.

Winston rubbed his face with both hands for a dry wash and let out a short sigh. He wasn’t worth dealing with. He had even heard that Yujin was carrying a seed of unknown origin and had birthed a child.

Thinking of that, strength flooded into his hands, and he clenched his fist tightly. His fingernails dug into his palm, and only then did his sanity return. He drank an entire glass of cold water to cool his head.

Winston would never be deceived by him again. Never, absolutely never. Being a fool once was enough. If he were to be fooled twice, it would be better to blow his own stupid head off with a gun.

Once the will is made public, Yujin will leave, right?

It was a conclusion that was too obvious. He had no justification to stay here, did he? Then he would really never see him again. He just had to endure until then.

I just need to see his face one more time.

That day, he would meet him in a place where everyone was gathered. It would be completely different from seeing Yujin alone, defenseless in bed in the middle of the night. Could it be any safer than that? Only a beast would go into heat in broad daylight in a space where so many eyes were watching.

Moreover, it would be too easy to avoid him in this vast mansion. With the thought that he should pressure his lawyer to hurry up the public disclosure of the will now that all conditions were met, Winston reminded himself to never cross paths with Yujin until that day.

After confirming that Winston had left the mansion, Yujin took Angela, left the room, and headed to the kitchen. After requesting some food and receiving simple bread and soup, they returned to their room; only then were they able to fill their hungry stomachs and have a conversation.

“Daddy, how long are we staying here?”

After washing up in the guest bathroom and finishing brushing her teeth, Angela asked. Yujin felt unnecessarily sorry for the child, so he let his voice trail off with a vague, “Well…”

“The elder who owned this place left a will when he passed away, and my name is in it. That’s why we’re here to hear it. Do you know what a will is?”

When Yujin asked, Angela nodded immediately and answered.

“It’s when you leave money behind when you die. So, we can get money too, right?”

“Uh… yes. It’s similar. You don’t always leave money behind, but…”

Yujin faltered at his daughter’s bold answer but had no choice but to concede. It wasn’t exactly wrong. That was the reason they came here, after all.

“So, we have to stay here until the will is announced. It won’t take that long.”

“How long?”

“Well… I’m not sure, but they will want to do it as quickly as possible, so let’s wait a little bit, okay?”

Everyone, including Mrs. Campbell, must be wishing for Yujin to leave as soon as possible. So, the public disclosure of the will was bound to be soon.

Winston, more than anyone else, would be wishing for that, so he would surely press the lawyer to finish it quickly.

Yujin composed himself before his heart began to ache. Let’s just think about why I came here.

“Can we buy a house with a garden, too? And raise a puppy?”

Angela asked with her eyes shining. Yujin had no choice but to hedge with a “Well…” again. Harold putting Yujin’s name in the will might have been a form of atonement in his own way, but it probably wasn’t anything spectacular. Yujin just thought it would be really great if it was enough money to survive for just three months.

The only thing that weighed on his mind was Winston. Since that impossibly humiliating incident the night before, Yujin had steeled himself with a new resolution. He would hold out until the will was announced without bumping into him. The thought of encountering Winston again was terrifying. Fortunately, it wasn’t impossible. He could just hide in the room until Winston left for work in the morning, and in the evening, if he saw Winston’s car pulling in, he could immediately duck into the room.
