Upon realizing that fact, Seojeong reflexively moved his head. At the end of his gaze was Song Jua. The two had been together for a long time as childhood friends. And Cha Yoon, who had never even dated a man before being in a relationship with him. Like puzzle pieces fitting together, one picture was completed.

So in the end, those two had become lovers.

With his head lowered, Seojeong sharply inhaled. In contrast to Ki Seojeong, who was greatly shaken, Cha Yoon appeared completely unbothered.

He found an empty seat and sat. It was the spot directly across from where Ki Seojeong would see him if he raised his head.

“Since the last resident has arrived, shall we take some time to exchange names once more?”

“Sounds good. Then starting from the last resident… your name?”

“It’s Cha Yoon.”

“It’s a single-syllable name, right? It’s so pretty.”

“Your name and face suit you so well, don’t they?”

Cha Yoon merely pulled up the corners of his mouth without offering any particular reply.

“I’m Gong Minwook.”

“I’m Yeo Jiyoon. Nice to meet you.”

Different voices followed. Despite that, Cha Yoon’s eyes remained fixed only on Seojeong. Before he knew it, it was Ki Seojeong’s turn.

“Mr. Seojeong?”

Minha’s hand tapped Seojeong’s shoulder. Seojeong barely snapped back to his senses. In that moment, Cha Yoon’s expression watching the two shifted strangely.

“…I am Ki Seojeong.”

It was something he had repeated six times already, but his body was stiffer than ever. Minha, right beside him, read Seojeong’s tension.

“Mr. Seojeong, why are you suddenly so nervous.”

“Oh, that’s true. Mr. Seojeong, you were speaking really well until just a moment ago.”

“Now that I see, isn’t it just that Mr. Seojeong’s X arrived and you can’t manage your expression?”

In an instant, attention focused on Seojeong. The last question stabbed at Ki Seojeong. But pretending to be fine, pretending nothing was wrong, was something he had become all too accustomed to. Seojeong steadied his voice.

“I guess I got nervous because Mr. Cha Yoon seemed so much like a celebrity.”

“Wow, so handsome people also get surprised when they see equally handsome people. Amazing.”

With his gaze fixed on Seo Minha, he gave an appropriate answer. It was when he was looking for a chance to change the topic directed at him.

“Ki Seojeong.”

A pleasant voice flowed out. It was Cha Yoon who had cut through the conversation. Without any time to think, Seojeong turned his head.

Inevitably, the two’s eyes met. They were cool eyes with no warmth felt.

“…”

Strength entered Seojeong’s fist. His effort to not give Cha Yoon his attention had collapsed in an instant. All because of Cha Yoon’s single call.

He could feel the other cast members’ attention gathering. Yet he couldn’t manage his expression. Even the thing he was long accustomed to turned to bubbles the moment he stood before Cha Yoon.

Even under the sharp gazes, Cha Yoon paid no mind. He repeated Seojeong’s name several times. As if savoring it in his mouth.

“Because I think I need to remember it.”

Cha Yoon pulled at the corner of his mouth. At a glance, it seemed like a smile, but in reality, it wasn’t. The chill still lingered in his eyes.

“And if you’re going to talk about me, you should do it while looking at me.”

“…”

“At this rate, it really looks like Mr. Ki Seojeong is ignoring me.”

How upsetting. The tone was as if he were pouting. At that one sentence, the air that had been pulled taut scattered. Cha Yoon played with the atmosphere with just the tone of his voice.

Only then did the people who had been watching for cues open their mouths. That’s right, if that’s the case, compliment him directly. It seems Mr. Cha Yoon is at an age where he wants attention. Words taking Cha Yoon’s side continued.

A sight that felt familiar for some reason. Watching Cha Yoon’s actions, Seojeong felt an odd sense of déjà vu. He couldn’t tell what on earth was making him act like that, but one thing was certain. This situation couldn’t be dragged on any longer. He didn’t want the rest of the people to become uncomfortable because of him.

“I’m sorry for making you misunderstand. I’ll make sure there’s nothing for you to be upset about from now on.”

“Yes, please make sure you keep to that.”

Ki Seojeong brought out the best possible answer to settle the situation. As if fairly pleased with the answer, Cha Yoon nodded. Yet he didn’t forget to add one more word. It even sounded sarcastic, but Seojeong didn’t pick up on it.

“Did you all see the living rules on the table? It turns out you have to scan them with the Please Take Care of My X app to read them.”

“That’s right! I discovered it!”

Seojeong, who had naturally turned his gaze, pointed at the pink paper. Once Minha’s voice joined in, the cast members who had been alternately looking at Cha Yoon and Ki Seojeong diverted their attention as if they’d never done so. All except for one.

While the others looked at their phone screens and read the living rules, only Cha Yoon stayed where he was and stared at Seojeong. More precisely, at the area around his neck exposed between his dress shirt.

“What on earth are you trying to do.”

I don’t get it. The sound of small muttering followed. It seemed directed at him, but Ki Seojeong stubbornly looked only at the screen.

“Shall we decide on rooms first?”

“Sounds good. I wanted to change into comfortable clothes anyway.”

As Gong Minwook clapped his hands hard and gathered attention, Song Jua backed his words.

“Then let’s unpack and gather here again.”

“Alright. Let’s hurry up and eat.”

“The women’s room is on the 1st floor. Let’s go quickly and check it out, everyone.”

With laughter, the female cast members disappeared to check out the rooms. Gong Minwook, who had briefly cast his eyes on their retreating figures, got up from his seat.

“Shall we go up as well.”

On the 2nd floor, excluding the locked doors, there were two double rooms in total. The room conditions were beyond expectations. In each room were two beds placed side by side, a dressing room, and even an individual bathroom.

Among the cast members who were pleased, only Ki Seojeong and Cha Yoon were quiet. In Cha Yoon’s case, it was due to a lack of interest, and for Seojeong, because of his complicated feelings.

It was a room he’d have to use for a month. It was already torture just running into him coming and going, and he did not want to use the same room as Cha Yoon.

But at the same time, he couldn’t say he didn’t want to share a room with Cha Yoon while the cameras were rolling. Was there a way. Lost in thought for a while, Seojeong opened his mouth. His body was turned away from Cha Yoon. Looking at Seojeong’s back, Cha Yoon smiled crookedly.

“By any chance, is there anyone who is a heavy sleeper?”

“Why? Mr. Seojeong, do you snore?”

“I’ve heard I don’t have any sleep quirks.”

Oh, what’s this. Straight from the X’s mouth? Seojeong brushed off the playful question with a vague laugh.

“It’s because, due to the nature of my job, my wake-up times aren’t consistent. I’d feel less sorry if it were someone who can sleep soundly without waking up while I get ready for work.”

After much deliberation, what he thought of was his fluid wake-up times. As was the nature of his profession, rotating shifts were an inseparable part of Ki Seojeong’s life.

He knew that Cha Yoon was sensitive and would easily wake up at even small sounds. So, naturally, upon hearing this, he would be in a different room from him…

“Use it with me.”

“Would you like to? Then with me…”

Answering reflexively, Ki Seojeong stopped mid-sentence. The direction the voice came from was behind him. Ki Seojeong turned around with surprised eyes. He saw Cha Yoon with his head tilted crookedly.

“Why are you so surprised.”

“Aren’t you a light sleeper?”

“Have you ever slept with me? You talk like someone who has.”

The words were pointed. As Seojeong merely twitched his lips, Cha Yoon spoke again.

“I’m resting from work these days, so it doesn’t matter to me.”

In the end, he was saying he’d sacrifice himself. It was just when he was about to indirectly decline, saying there was no need for that. Cha Yoon briefly and noticeably glanced at the camera installed on the ceiling.

“So, unless you hate the idea of sharing a room with me, just use it with me.”

With a very simple method, he blocked all words of refusal Ki Seojeong could make. Now Seojeong couldn’t even drag his feet. Because even that brief gap would make it look like he disliked Cha Yoon.

“…Alright, then.”

Seojeong gave a reluctant answer. Only then did Cha Yoon smile contentedly.

How did it end up like this. With his back to the camera installed in the hallway, Ki Seojeong dry-washed his face. He couldn’t readily step into the room. Because the moment he took a step, it felt like it would truly become reality. Even knowing it was something that had already happened, he felt that way.

“What are you doing standing in front of the door.”
