Flower Fiancé Chapter 119

— Yes. Work hard today too. I love you.

And upon seeing the heart emoji Choi Moohyuk had sent, Ji Yeonwoo wrapped both hands around his phone, hugged it to his chest, and smiled brightly.

Whenever someone who didn’t seem like the type showed such affection, it tickled him unbearably.

The reopening of <Flower Fiancé> had been successful, the building was owned outright, and the number of customers had increased significantly—it seemed like Ji Yeonwoo had no worries at all. But he did have one concern.

That day, too, he had been busy with a steady stream of customers. With closing time not far off, the door opened with a clear bell sound. A stranger in a gray coat over a suit walked in.

“Oh…”

Ji Yeonwoo instinctively stepped back.

The man with his hair neatly styled was clearly well-built, even beneath the suit and coat.

Slowly walking into the shop and looking around, the man stared intently at Ji Yeonwoo standing behind the counter. With intense eyes trying to gauge whether he was a beta or an omega, and pheromones buried amid the scent of flowers, he was unmistakably an alpha.

Before marrying Choi Moohyuk, his pheromone glands had been broken, so he had lived a life no different from a beta, which meant running a flower shop hadn’t been troublesome. But now that his pheromones had fully recovered, alphas who sensed a dominant omega’s pheromones visited the shop several times a day. Even diluted by the scent of flowers, the dominant omega’s pheromones were so fragrant and potent that they seemed to attract alphas.

After learning that, he tried taking suppressants and also used the pheromone control methods he had practiced with Choi Moohyuk to regulate them, but the alphas’ visits kept coming, as if they somehow knew. Among the alphas who came deliberately, some even released their pheromones on purpose.

Ji Yeonwoo couldn’t tell whether this man had come into the shop to buy flowers or was simply drawn by the pheromones. But since he had entered the shop, he was a customer, and Ji Yeonwoo couldn’t ignore a customer. After hesitating, he approached the man.

“Hello. Are you looking for a particular flower?”

The man stared intently at Ji Yeonwoo standing before him. There was no answer, but the gaze was intense. A sense of déjà vu washed over him. Unintentionally, a situation similar to the day he first met Choi Moohyuk unfolded, making him feel uneasy for no reason.

The pheromones mixed with the scent of flowers pushed into his lungs with each inhale. It wasn’t the familiar magnolia scent of Choi Moohyuk, but an unfamiliar, potent pheromone. Could he be a dominant alpha? If his pheromones felt this strong, he couldn’t just be an ordinary alpha. As Ji Yeonwoo pressed his lips together and frowned, the man’s expression twisted in response.

He felt suffocated. Ji Yeonwoo turned his head, covered his mouth with the back of his hand, and coughed lightly.

Though they hadn’t gone through the marking stage yet, both possessed dominant traits, making them more sensitive to pheromones than anyone else. In particular, they could keenly detect someone else’s pheromones lingering on their partner.

If the pheromones were this perceptible, it was certain that the man’s pheromones were all over his body. Just thinking about seeing Choi Moohyuk in the evening made worry wash over him.

As he let out a small sigh, the man finally turned his gaze to the flowers. His eyes scanning the flowers stopped at one spot—the purple roses that had come in today.

“How unique. I think this is the first time I’ve seen purple roses.”

Looking at the purple roses, the man spoke.

“We just brought these in today as well. Since they’re imported roses and an uncommon color, they’d be even harder to come by.”

“Do you know the flower language?”

Ji Yeonwoo looked at the man. Was it his imagination? The day he first saw Choi Moohyuk suddenly came to mind.

“The flower language of purple roses is ‘eternal love’ and ‘incomplete love.'”

The man turned around with a puzzled look. The purple rose had two meanings, and the two were completely opposite. Ji Yeonwoo guessed that was why the man’s expression had shifted. He turned his gaze to the purple roses arranged in a bundle.

“Fascinating, isn’t it? I don’t know the exact reason why these flower languages were attached. I can only guess that because red and blue—opposite colors—combine to make purple, the flower languages also hold completely opposite meanings.”

The man, who had been quietly watching Ji Yeonwoo explain calmly, soon smiled faintly as if something had come to mind.

“Interesting. And… they would suit that person well.”

The man murmured softly, rubbing his lower lip with his index finger.

“…Pardon?”

Hearing the man’s meaningful words, Ji Yeonwoo looked up at his face. It seemed he had heard something, but since it was a mutter, he couldn’t quite catch it.

On the fourth finger of the man’s hand, as he rubbed his lower lip, a ring that appeared to be a couple ring sparkled.

The man, whose attire alone suggested he was no ordinary person, even had a presence similar to Choi Moohyuk’s. That part gave Ji Yeonwoo an odd sense of dissonance, and he instinctively became wary of the man.

The man stared at Ji Yeonwoo, lost in thought, then seemed to make up his mind and pointed at the purple roses.

“I’ll take these.”

Though surprised by the strange sense of déjà vu emanating from this stranger, Ji Yeonwoo didn’t show it and responded with the best customer-service smile he could muster.

“How would you like them made?”

“Please make it into a bouquet of a suitable size. Add some other flowers with small leaves as well.”

“Yes. Please wait a moment.”

Ji Yeonwoo trimmed the purple roses according to the man’s request and made the bouquet. Glancing at the man who was looking at the flowers while he worked busily, Ji Yeonwoo thought.

Were all dominant alphas like that? There were plenty of other flowers with good meanings, yet he deliberately chose one with dual meanings—it was puzzling.

From his remark that they would suit someone well, it seemed he was planning to give them to someone. Probably the owner of the couple ring on his fourth finger.

While thinking about this and that as he wrapped the flowers, Ji Yeonwoo naturally recalled the day he first met Choi Moohyuk.

Choi Moohyuk had also asked about the flower language of hydrangeas, just like this man, and then without further ado, asked him to make a bouquet with those flowers. At first, he’d thought he was a really strange man, but when Choi Moohyuk returned just a few hours later and abruptly mentioned VIPs while trying to set up an appointment, he couldn’t help but laugh. It was clearly flirting with an obvious motive, but it wasn’t entirely unpleasant.

Though purple roses had dual meanings, they weren’t negative like hydrangeas, so they probably were for a good relationship. He’d been tense because of the similar vibe to Choi Moohyuk, but it was a relief that the flowers didn’t seem to be used in a negative sense.

It was just as he was naturally smiling to himself and working busily. A familiar pheromone rushed in with each breath. Huh? He stopped his hands without thinking and looked up, and there was a familiar man getting out of a car just parked at the curb.

A man in a black long coat walked toward the shop door without hesitation. Though it was dark outside, the neon sign light made the man’s presence vivid. It was Choi Moohyuk.

The man who had been waiting for his bouquet saw Ji Yeonwoo’s bright smile and turned his head in that direction. Soon after, the door opened with a bell sound, and Choi Moohyuk walked in.

Choi Moohyuk’s lips, which had been smiling in greeting, closed. Even the smile at the corners of his mouth gradually faded. It was because he had sensed the alpha’s pheromones faintly spreading through the shop.

“Your order is ready.”

Seeing Choi Moohyuk’s expression harden, Ji Yeonwoo hurriedly finished the bouquet and handed it to the man.

“Oh, yes.”

The man stared at Choi Moohyuk for a moment, then took the bouquet of purple roses. Taking the card, Ji Yeonwoo tapped the POS screen to complete the payment.

“Payment is complete.”

The man reached into his coat, pulled out a business card, and handed it over.

“I’ll contact you if I need flowers.”

While keeping an eye on Choi Moohyuk’s reaction to his sudden action, Ji Yeonwoo accepted the card in a daze.

Yeon Jaeha, Executive Director of Taeyoung Co., Ltd.

As he silently read the name on the card, the man holding the purple rose bouquet gave a slight bow and walked toward the door.

When Ji Yeonwoo bowed toward him, Choi Moohyuk finally approached his side. Taking the business card from Ji Yeonwoo’s hand, Choi Moohyuk furrowed his brow.
