Flower Fiancé Chapter 13
In the end, he stood in front of the closet choosing clothes, and because he had wasted time, he arrived at the movie theater just barely in time for their appointment.
Ji Yeonwoo, who had taken the escalator up to the 7th floor, let out a light breath and looked around. The 7th floor, where tickets were booked, was already crowded with many people. Since they had only said the 7th floor and hadn’t specified an exact meeting spot, he slowly walked among the people, looking around and searching for Choi Moohyuk.
Given how tall and well-built he was with such outstanding looks, he was sure to stand out easily, but he was nowhere to be seen. Had he not arrived yet? Should he call him? He turned on the phone he had been clutching in his hand when he heard a conversation from someone passing by.
“Wow, look at that guy’s physique. No joke.”
“I’ve been watching him for a while, and I think he’s waiting for someone? He’s already turned down three people.”
“What, is he waiting for his lover?”
Ji Yeonwoo, who had been listening intently to their conversation, followed their gaze. Through the people passing in front of him, near a structure set up some distance ahead, he could see a familiar-looking man standing there.
In the meantime, another man approached him and seemed to strike up a conversation. He was probably an Omega who had recognized that Choi Moohyuk was an Alpha.
Choi Moohyuk, without exchanging many words, lowered his gaze to his phone and ignored him, and the person who had spoken to him, seemingly offended, glared at him before walking away with his face flushed bright red.
[ Choi Moohyuk Managing Director : Mr. Yeonwoo, where are you now? ]
At the same moment, his phone buzzed. Ji Yeonwoo, who had been blankly staring at the message on the screen, lifted his head. A person with that much popularity who even goes on blind dates—why on earth would he want to get close to me? He couldn’t help but feel doubt, yet when it came to rejecting his advances, Choi Moohyuk’s face, his build, the way he talked—everything was exactly Ji Yeonwoo’s type.
[ I’m here. I can see the Managing Director. ]
Ji Yeonwoo hesitated for a moment before tapping the screen with both thumbs and sending the message. After checking his phone, Choi Moohyuk hurriedly lifted his head and looked around. Then, when his eyes met Ji Yeonwoo’s, his expression brightened and he walked over.
Meeting his approaching gaze, Ji Yeonwoo offered a light smile.
There was a mountain of things he wanted to ask, but he decided not to ask today. He didn’t want to ruin the good mood for no reason.
The movie they had booked was a romantic comedy action film. For a film combining a whopping three genres, it wasn’t half bad. It was moderately pleasant, moderately heart-fluttering, and if there was one flaw, it was that it was dripping with blood.
Ji Yeonwoo, who couldn’t watch gory movies with blood splattering, kept worrying about Choi Moohyuk sitting next to him for no reason. He kept glancing sideways and flinching in surprise whenever a bloody scene appeared. After flinching a couple of times like that, as the tension rose again, his nervous heart made him clutch his own innocent hand.
He was thinking he should at least cover his eyes when a hand reached over from beside him and gently took hold of Ji Yeonwoo’s hand. He stared at the rough hand that completely covered his own, then turned his head.
“Could you cover my eyes instead of my hand?”
Choi Moohyuk whispered softly while facing straight ahead. Ji Yeonwoo’s face flushed bright red, and without even realizing it was too dark to be seen clearly, he shook his head.
“No. I’m fine.”
Ji Yeonwoo, who had spoken in a small voice, clasped Choi Moohyuk’s hand, which was covering his own, with both of his hands.
After finishing the movie and coming out, Ji Yeonwoo’s heart was pounding for no reason. It wasn’t because of the cruel action movie masquerading as a romantic comedy, but because of the things Choi Moohyuk had done in between that made his heart flutter.
“Next time, I’ll have to ask Mr. Yeonwoo before booking.”
Choi Moohyuk, who had gone to throw away the trash, came back to Ji Yeonwoo’s side.
“I’m sorry. It must have been uncomfortable for you.”
“More than that, I felt a bit sorry watching you get startled so easily.”
“I do tend to startle easily. Actually, that’s partly why I don’t go to the movie theater often.”
Since the movie had ended at the same time, there were too many people taking the elevator down, so the two decided to take the escalator.
“Then do you not watch things like movies often?”
“I mostly watch at home. OTT platforms are so well-developed these days.”
Choi Moohyuk, who was riding the escalator down standing one step ahead and behind, turned his head to look at Ji Yeonwoo, who stood directly behind him.
“Hmm. That’s a good method too.”
Lost in thought for a moment, a smile spread across Choi Moohyuk’s lips, though what he was thinking was unclear. Ji Yeonwoo, unable to fathom the reason, tilted his head.
After coming out of the theater, the two headed to the hotel lounge for a late dinner. The manager, who had come out in time for the reservation, greeted them.
“It’s been a while, Managing Director.”
“Have you been well.”
The manager and Choi Moohyuk exchanged brief greetings and guided them inside. Perhaps because it was a bit late for dinner, the hall was mostly empty.
“The rooms were all fully booked, so I had no choice but to reserve the hall. I will guide you to a window seat with a good view.”
After politely asking for their understanding, the manager guided them to a spot right next to the window with a panoramic view of the nightscape. Sitting down, Ji Yeonwoo was captivated by the sparkling night view outside the window. So Seoul was this beautiful. As he was admiring the view, Choi Moohyuk, who was about to take his seat, paused and checked his phone.
“Mr. Yeonwoo, I’m sorry, but I’ll just go make a quick phone call.”
“Yes. Please go ahead.”
Choi Moohyuk brought his phone to his ear and walked toward the entrance he had come through. Ji Yeonwoo, who had been watching Choi Moohyuk get farther away, turned his gaze back out the window.
Choi Moohyuk was just about to exit the lounge entrance when he bumped shoulders with a man coming in at the same time. ‘I’m sorry.’ Choi Moohyuk, who had bowed his head lightly in apology, passed by him while taking the call.
The man who was coming in with a woman in a form-fitting wine-colored mini dress scowled, saying ‘What the—,’ and turned to look at the retreating Choi Moohyuk. Brushing off the shoulder that had been bumped into as if displeased, he stepped into the lounge. They were likewise guided by the waiting manager, but the man’s once-scrunched-up expression showed no signs of relaxing.
“Mr. Lee Hyunjoon, can’t you fix your expression? Are you going to be like this in front of both families’ parents too?”
“Alright. I’ll handle it myself, so stop nagging.”
Lee Hyunjoon, the man who had responded with irritation to the female Omega’s nagging, was scanning the hall when his gaze stopped in one spot. The back view of someone sitting alone at a window seat, completely captivated by the night view outside the window, looked familiar.
“…Ji Yeonwoo?”
Lee Hyunjoon murmured as he stared at the back view in disbelief. The probability that it wasn’t him was not very high. Although things had ended badly, there was no way he wouldn’t recognize the back of someone he had lived with for four years.
“Why would Ji Yeonwoo be here….”
He knew that Ji Yeonwoo’s personality wasn’t the type to frequent places like this. Quickly scanning the surroundings, Lee Hyunjoon’s eyes caught that the seat directly across from Ji Yeonwoo was set for one person.
As if all his attention had been stolen in an instant, he was staring intently when Choi Moohyuk, who had briefly left to take a call, returned to the table. Watching them exchange short words and sit facing each other, Lee Hyunjoon frowned.
“Has he gotten himself a lover or something?”
The atmosphere was too intimate to say they were just acquaintances. Lee Hyunjoon’s mood began to twist at the fact that the man sitting across from him suited Ji Yeonwoo quite well.
The female Omega, who had been about to go into the room first, frowned and approached Lee Hyunjoon, who was still standing in that spot.
“What are you doing there? Your father is waiting.”
The female Omega glared fiercely with narrowed eyes and grabbed his arm. Only then coming to his senses, Lee Hyunjoon was pulled along by her touch.
“Yeah. I’m coming.”
As he walked toward the room, Lee Hyunjoon kept glancing back at Ji Yeonwoo like someone with lingering attachment, repeatedly tilting his head. But that was only for a moment. As soon as the room door opened, Lee Hyunjoon changed his expression as if putting on a mask. ‘Have you been well, Father-in-law.’ Lee Hyunjoon bowed politely as if he had good manners and went inside.
