Flower Fiancé Chapter 30

Author: nicotine

Club Freeze was one of the businesses owned by Choi Moohyuk. If the title of Managing Director of Sunwoo Industries was the public-facing one that looked good to others, then the title of Director of this club, Club Freeze, was the one that could tell you who the real Choi Moohyuk was and what kind of person he was.

“It’s been a while, Managing Director.”

Min Jiwon, who had come out to the entrance to greet him, bowed his head toward the approaching Choi Moohyuk. Behind him, men uniformly dressed in black suits with massive builds bent their waists toward Choi Moohyuk. At the rare spectacle, the gazes of people passing in front of Club Freeze gathered.

“It seems you’re confident in the sales, President Min.”

Choi Moohyuk, wearing his coat as if draped over his shoulders, stood before Min Jiwon with both hands in his pants pockets. His expressionless face and deep eyes swept over Min Jiwon from top to bottom.

With his slender, lean figure and delicate features, Min Jiwon wasn’t intimidated by Choi Moohyuk’s cold atmosphere. That was to be expected, as Min Jiwon was an omega who had worked as a secretary under Choi Moohyuk for five years. He was competent enough to break Choi Moohyuk’s principle of not keeping an omega secretary, so much so that he didn’t need to be told twice, and while knowing every single move Choi Moohyuk made, he was also the one among Choi Moohyuk’s associates who acted with the quickest wits.

The reason he had become the figurehead president of Club Freeze was after Choi Moohyuk had come to acquire this place through a chance opportunity. Already having multiple businesses and thus unable to touch a club, Choi Moohyuk had placed Min Jiwon in the president’s seat and entrusted him with operations. And once each quarter, he received a report on the business’s performance.

“The reason I had Managing Director come here isn’t solely because of sales. There are things to report, and as it happens, there are people I’d like to introduce today.”

Min Jiwon stepped aside and yielded the way.

“I will report in detail inside.”

Glancing at Min Jiwon, who was overflowing with confidence today, Choi Moohyuk moved his steps toward the entrance of Club Freeze. It was around when he passed the large men and arrived at the entrance.

“Fuck! Why aren’t you answering the phone, damn it!”

Somewhere, the irritable voice of a man was heard. The annoyed voice pierced through even the music flowing from inside the club and lodged in his ears.

Reflexively stopping his steps, Choi Moohyuk turned his head toward the direction the voice came from. When he couldn’t see well because it was blocked by a large guard, he raised his arm and pushed him aside.

A little distance from the entrance of Freeze, a man was blowing out cigarette smoke. He was dressed in a suit, but with an unbuttoned, open jacket and about two buttons of his shirt undone, he was an alpha but with an unkempt appearance.

“He definitely said this number was right. You used to answer every missed call without fail, but you’re ignoring mine?”

Manipulating the phone screen with one hand while repeatedly drawing on his cigarette, a sense of anxiousness could be felt from his actions.

“Or, have you maybe blocked me?”

The man, who had been staring fixedly at his phone, put the cigarette in his mouth and made a call somewhere again. The alpha’s face, who had been attempting the call for a while, contorted with rage before he swung his arm and threw the phone to the ground.

“Fuck, fucking hell.”

Choi Moohyuk looked at him with a dry gaze as he casually spewed vulgar curses regardless of whether people were around or not. Min Jiwon, standing beside him and observing Choi Moohyuk’s face, gestured to the guard behind him.

The instructed guard approached the alpha who was fuming with anger. Seeing him politely bend his waist and speak toward the alpha, it seemed he was quite an important guest at this club.

After exchanging a few words, the alpha turned and looked in this direction.

Almost simultaneously withdrawing his gaze, Choi Moohyuk entered the entrance of Club Freeze.

On the table of the room Min Jiwon had separately prepared, high-end liquor and snacks were abundant. Leaning his back against the plush sofa, Choi Moohyuk gracefully crossed his legs and checked the documents inside the approval folder.

The approval documents contained various contents such as comparisons of sales performance between the last 3rd quarter and this 4th quarter, market outlook, and aggregated tables predicting subsequent sales trends accordingly.

Each time a paper turned, Min Jiwon’s gaze, who was standing beside him, glanced at Choi Moohyuk’s face once. The dry gaze, devoid of any warmth whatsoever, was directed solely at the documents. Only after methodically turning the pages and checking up to the very last one did Choi Moohyuk take out a pen from the inner pocket of his jacket and sign.

“What is the reason you called me here?”

When he closed the approval folder and placed it on the table, a faint tension crept onto Min Jiwon’s face. Choi Moohyuk picked up the liquor bottle and tilted it over a glass containing ice. With a trickling sound, the deep yellow liquor seeped between the ice cubes.

“You’re not someone so clueless as to tell me to come and go just to boast about a sales growth that’s less than 5%, are you? President Min.”

Picking up the glass, Choi Moohyuk leaned his body against the back of the sofa and looked at Min Jiwon. Min Jiwon’s face, which had been consistently maintained with a smile, stiffened. Gulp, his Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed dryly. Choi Moohyuk did not miss Min Jiwon’s rapidly hardening expression.

“Compared to the 3rd quarter, it’s a 5% increase in sales, but it’s a figure that has dropped 12% compared to the same quarter last year. Especially, the 4th quarter is a period densely packed with various year-end events including Christmas, and you’re telling me you’re satisfied with just this level of sales?”

Strength entered his subdued voice, making the room reverberate. He wondered if his work sense had dulled after being entrusted with a club instead of a company. He wasn’t someone who couldn’t judge this kind of thing, but Min Jiwon’s recent moves had been full of disappointment.

“I am not satisfied, Managing Director. The staff are continuing meetings for sales growth among themselves, and recently, we have been aggressively pursuing marketing.”

Min Jiwon hastily held out the approval folder he had in his hand toward Choi Moohyuk. Choi Moohyuk opened the approval folder Jiwon handed him. Inside were written the names and composition lists of large-scale social gathering groups.

“What you’re looking at is a list summarizing the large-scale social gatherings domestically. Currently, we at Freeze have succeeded in attracting the social gathering with the largest scale among them, and the sales are quite substantial. You may look forward to it from this quarter onward.”

Listening to what Min Jiwon was saying, he quickly scanned the names written on the list. Since Sunwoo Group was excluded from political and business social gatherings, most of the names and brothers were only known by name.

“Which is the social gathering you’ve attracted this time?”

Still, through his connections, he roughly knew who from where was in which gathering, so the list itself was not very unfamiliar. Choi Moohyuk’s eyes, which had been scanning with just his gaze, stopped in one place. Among them, a name caught his eye.

“It is the Yeongwuhoe.”

Choi Moohyuk scanned the visible Yeongwuhoe and the occupations of those who comprised it and gave a snort. So this was why they say you never know what will happen in the world. To think he would be entangled with these people like this.

Yeongwuhoe was the largest among the gatherings of second-generation chaebols domestically, and the backgrounds of the figures who comprised it were also glamorous. Most had finished studying abroad and returned to Korea to jump into the front lines of management, or were just beginning to learn, and most held ranks of team leader level or higher.

But among them, there was a person who stood out.

Planning Director of JT Industries Co., Ltd.?

Judging by the name, it seemed to be a company in charge of distribution and logistics. He also remembered hearing through the rumor mill that JT Group’s distribution and logistics side had been hotly emerging recently and that they were making large-scale investments.

“They’re people with money, so take this chance to sell a lot of expensive liquor.”

Choi Moohyuk put the approval folder down on the table with a thud and spoke.

“As it happens, they are having a gathering today, and their spending is quite good. One person is said to have returned from the United States, and he appears to be the mood-driven type. He even rang the Golden Bell. Ah! He’s the person you saw before entering Freeze.”

Choi Moohyuk, who had taken out a cigarette and was putting it in his mouth, stopped his hand and looked at Min Jiwon. The person he saw before entering Freeze? Raising one eyebrow and retracing his memory, the alpha who had been spewing vulgar curses came to mind.

“That person is Director Lee Hyunjoon, and I heard he was appointed as the Planning Director of JT Industries Co., Ltd.”
