His Breeding Obsession Chapter 192 - Healing Journey

The food must have been hot, but the tiger seemed more focused on filling its stomach, devouring the meal in a hurry.

Feeling pity, Mirania flicked her fingers, creating enough water to fill a cup. She rolled a large leaf into the shape of a cup and handed it to the tiger, filled with water.

“Drink while you eat. I won’t take it from you,” she said.

The tiger rolled its eyes, swallowing the food slowly, then coughed loudly before accepting the leaf cup from Mirania. After gulping down the water as hastily as it had eaten, the tiger seemed more at ease.

“Cough, cough. Thank you. You’re very kind. Cough, cough.”

Grecan’s eyebrow twitched. The tiger’s coughing had been bothering him for a while now. A displeased aura wrapped around him like a snake, causing the tiger to flinch and thump its chest with a thick paw.

“Ah, I’m sorry. Cough, cough.”

Noticing Grecan’s glare, the tiger let out a forced, painful cough.

“I’ve been wandering for quite some time, so I’ve caught a mild cough. Cough, cough.

Grecan’s gaze sharpened.

The tiger, quick-witted from years of survival, hastily added, “It’s not contagious. Cough. So, no need to worry.”

Grecan, still displeased, moved closer to Mirania.

Whenever the tiger showed signs of coughing, he extended his hand to shield Mirania’s face.

Though Mirania thought he was being overly cautious, she let it slide, knowing Grecan wouldn’t listen if she protested.

“Cough, cough. It’s been a while since I’ve had such a delicious meal. I’m on my way to find an old friend. My pack has moved on to our homeland, but I’ve grown too old to keep up. Cough, cough. This might be my last journey, so I want to see a familiar face. Are you two travelers? Cough, cough.”

“Yes,” Grecan replied.

The tiger, seemingly thirsty, excused itself and ran to the lakeside to gulp down water. When it returned, its expression was much more relaxed.

“Travelers in these times? It’s been nearly thirty years since I last met any. And you’re not refugees.”

“Are you doubting us?”

Grecan stared intently at the tiger.

The tiger quickly waved its paws in denial.

“No, no. Cough. I was just curious.”

The tiger swallowed and rolled its eyes and said, “You’re free to go if you wish.”

Mirania, accurately reading the tiger’s thoughts, spoke up. The tiger’s eyes widened. It had wanted to leave but felt conflicted.

“Ah, but how could I? Cough, cough. You’ve given me the first proper meal I’ve had in a week. Cough, cough. Even though I’ve left my pack, I’m not one to forget kindness.”

The tiger spoke solemnly, but when Grecan showed no change in expression, it looked awkward.

“Ah! If you’re a traveler, are you looking for a place to rest? Cough. This area is where my pack stayed for a while. Cough, cough. It’s not the most comfortable, but I know a cave where you can at least avoid the morning dew.”

Before Mirania could respond, Grecan asked for the cave’s location.

The tiger, after receiving some leftover meat from Grecan, left to show the way. Mirania was baffled.

“The sun hasn’t even set yet. Why are we looking for a place to sleep?”

“We’re on a journey, Mirania,” Grecan said, pouring dirt over the campfire to extinguish it.

“Rushing around isn’t a journey; it’s work.”

“…You’re quite eloquent at times like these.”

“It’s not bad to be eloquent at times like these.”

Grecan scooped Mirania up in his arms. “Shall we go rest, then?”

Though it was just a suggestion to rest, Mirania felt an odd sensation and scratched her ear.

The cave was exactly as the tiger had described—hard and dark, not exactly comfortable, but secluded and warm enough to spend the night. The only downside was the hard ground.

“My shoulders are going to ache,” Mirania thought.

Grecan, noticing her concern, casually glanced around.

“Oh, this isn’t bad.”

Surprised by his positive response, Mirania’s eyes widened. Grecan, looking at her, grinned foolishly.

“A honeymoon cave.”

“Tsk!”

Chuckling, Grecan set Mirania down at the cave entrance and gathered dry leaves.

After starting a small fire inside the cave, he spread the leaves in one corner, creating a makeshift bed.

While not as luxurious as a palace bed, it was at least as comfortable as a straw bed in a witch’s hut.

“Is there anything I can do to help?” Mirania asked, feeling awkward just sitting there.

Grecan, adjusting the fire, left it and approached her.

“You like not doing anything, don’t you? Were you really planning to help?”

His teasing tone made her bristle.

“Do you think I’m some old woman who just lies around?”

“Hahaha.”

Grecan suddenly pulled Mirania into his arms.

Startled, she pushed his forehead away with her finger. Grecan shook his head, freeing himself from her finger, and nuzzled his head against her soft neck.

“You don’t have to do anything. Just watch me. That’s all I want from you.”

“Well, that’s convenient for me…”

Mirania muttered, feeling guilty for not doing anything, but before she could finish, she was pushed back onto the makeshift leaf bed.

The leaves rustled beneath her.

Mirania’s eyelids fluttered in surprise. Grecan lay on his side, pulling her closer and breathing deeply.

“Ah, this is nice. I’m getting sleepy.”

“It’s still early.”

“Let’s take a nap.”

Grecan’s cool response sent his warm breath against Mirania’s neck, tickling her. She giggled softly, her eyelids growing heavy.

Mirania, who loved lounging in bed for half a day, wasn’t about to change just because they were outside. She closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Within less than 30 minutes, a wrinkle formed on Mirania’s brow.

Grecan’s hand movements were suspicious. His arm, serving as her pillow, gently stroked her forearm, and then his index finger lightly brushed her collarbone. The touch was as soft as a feather.

Grecan’s lips touched her ear, and he began to play with the soft skin beneath it.

“What should I do in times like these?” Grecan sighed deeply.

“What do you mean?”

Mirania’s low voice slipped out unintentionally.

Feeling oddly embarrassed, her eyelids fluttered.

“I keep wanting to touch you.”

“Didn’t you always?”

Grecan fell silent at her unexpected response.

“…I did.”

“Then there’s nothing strange about it.”

“No, it’s different.”

Grecan muttered awkwardly, and Mirania bit her lip to stifle a laugh.

Noticing her amusement, Grecan’s expression turned sulky.

Their eyes met. Grecan’s disheveled black hair, slightly flushed cheeks, and moist black eyes made him look like he was on the verge of exploding. His hot, humid breath tickled Mirania’s collarbone.

Mirania gently stroked Grecan’s head and kissed the bridge of his nose.

As she pulled away, Grecan’s eyelids lifted, and he naturally followed her, pressing his lips to hers.

Grecan’s body trembled.

A laugh escaped Mirania’s lips like a breeze. Grecan couldn’t have missed it. He tilted his head, looking down at her with narrowed eyes.

Mirania blinked innocently, and Grecan’s eyes narrowed further. Then, suddenly, he smiled.

Confused, Mirania half-closed her eyes as Grecan’s lips met hers again. His kiss was soft and warm. Her heart raced pleasantly, and her skin tingled.

Just as she was about to lose herself in the familiar, soothing sensation, Mirania found it hard to breathe. Her heart was beating too fast, almost as if she were hyperventilating.

She placed her hand over her heart. It was beating normally.

Thump, thump, thump, thump!

“Then whose heartbeat is this?”

The heartbeat she felt was twice as loud and three times as fast as her own.

“Hah.”

Mirania let out a short breath, and Grecan pulled away slightly. The distance between their noses was just a hand’s breadth.

Mirania looked up at Grecan with wide eyes.

“Why?” Grecan whispered hoarsely.

“Nothing…”

Her heart gradually calmed. Mirania tilted her head, her lips glistening with saliva.

The yellow light from the campfire flickered on her pale face, creating a stark contrast between the shadowed half and the golden half.

Mirania’s long eyelashes fluttered slowly as she closed her eyes. Her expression was drowsy as if she were about to fall asleep. Grecan’s heart raced.

Meanwhile, Mirania’s heart began to race again.

“Why is this happening?”

She placed her hand on her chest, but her heart was beating normally. Grecan kissed her again. Mirania let out a soft moan and accepted his kiss.

As she tried to focus on the kiss, the loud heartbeat in her ears was distracting. Eventually, she placed her hand on Grecan’s chest.

“Wait. Stop for a moment.”

Grecan pulled away again.

Mirania placed her hand on her chest, listening to her heartbeat. Her expression turned serious.

“It’s beating like crazy. Am I sick?”

Mirania was confused.

Then, laughter came from somewhere. When she opened her eyes properly, Grecan was laughing.

“Strange. I feel calm and happy.”

“What do you mean?”

Grecan lowered his face. Their soft, moist lips met again.

Mirania placed her hand on Grecan’s chest and opened her mouth. Grecan sucked on her lower lip.

Worried about her heart’s strange reaction, Mirania initially couldn’t focus on the kiss, but as Grecan persistently targeted her lower lip, her attention shifted there.

Her lips felt swollen. It was as if honey was smeared on her lower lip, and Grecan sucked on it for a while.

Mirania stroked Grecan’s nape with one hand. It was meant to signal him to stop, but it seemed to have the opposite effect.

His breath grew rough.

Grecan tilted his head slightly, deepening the kiss.

Mirania tried to breathe through her nose, but her heart was beating too fast, making it difficult.

The heartbeat she felt through her fingertips was Grecan’s.

Thump, thump, thump, thump!

It was surprisingly fast. Suddenly, Mirania realized that the heartbeat in her ears matched Grecan’s.

“…!”

At that moment, Mirania understood.

The heart was as hot as a campfire. The overwhelming chest and rapid breath. The joy and ecstatic happiness surging from her toes to her head…

These were Grecan’s sensations.

“Hah!”

Mirania’s body trembled.

Grecan pulled away, looking down at her with heated eyes.

Startled as if struck by lightning, Mirania glared at him.
