The Prosecutor’s Office’s Proposal Chapter 178
A hot lip brushed against my cheek and pulled away. That area alone turned hot, as if it had been scorched. Even though it was raining, we were outside, yet I impulsively grabbed his fingertips first.
“I… want to hold hands.”
“Don’t ask about things like that—just do it. Rain is the worst when conducting an investigation, but it seems perfect for us to have a date. Because there won’t be any witnesses.”
His large hand, which I could only hold when we were alone indoors, wrapped warmly around me. He gently warmed my fingertips, which had become cold before I knew it. His body temperature, felt outside, was comforting.
“I’m starting to have times when I like the rain. There wasn’t a single time I liked it while investigating.”
“Everything has two sides. There isn’t much that is only bad.”
“Prosecutor, sometimes I think you’re surprisingly positive.”
“Me? I think Mr. Lee Chaeha, who sees me that way, is the unique one.”
“At first, because you made me work so much overtime, my image of you was a bit like that, though.”
Prosecutor Joo, even after hearing that somewhat mischievous joke, smiled along with me as he looked down, and then he moved his feet while keeping our hands tightly clasped.
The rain was heavy, but there wasn’t much wind, so the atmosphere was quiet and tranquil. Because the umbrella kept tilting toward me, I pushed his hand—which was holding the handle—to the opposite side, but the umbrella returned to a slant every single time.
The sound of two people’s footsteps remained on the deck overgrown with windbreak trees. Raindrops struck the deck and bounced back up, landing on the backs of my feet, which were in sandals. Prosecutor Joo let go of the hand he was holding and wrapped his arm around my waist, hugging me firmly. I thought it would end there, but his warm fingertips breached the boundary between my shirt and pants and reached quite far inside. It was a touch containing a secret implication.
Slightly startled, I stopped walking and tilted my head. His lips were already close enough to touch mine.
It was a night where the windbreak trees blocked the light of the sparsely lined streetlamps and the sudden downpour hid the moonlight. Each of our faces beneath the black umbrella was submerged in the faint shadows of the night. The moment I slightly curled my toes, which were wet from the rain due to tension, a voice as warm as the broad palm resting on my waist flew across the coldly chilled air.
“Just like you said, Mr. Lee Chaeha, because it’s raining… there are no witnesses, and there won’t be any instance of us being caught on camera.”
I shifted my trembling eyes slightly to the side to look at the dark deck, but I couldn’t even see a passerby.
The moment I slowly turned my gaze back, his face drew even closer in a brief instant. I complied, yielding to his pull on my waist and purely overlapping our lips.
Prosecutor Joo slowly led me a little further inside. Our two shadows hid perfectly in the shade cast by the windbreak trees, safely avoiding the world’s gaze. The height of the umbrella he held lowered, and the sound of the raindrops hitting it grew loud enough to ring in my ears.
“Ah….”
A hot tongue dug deep into my mouth as if to fill it. A small moan rang out from my throat, but it was not enough to pierce through the sound of the rain.
On a night when the rain had cooled the heat of summer, the act of clashing hot tongues outside was unfamiliar and erotic. I carefully sucked on the flesh that had occupied my mouth and drank his saliva. The sensation of his soft, thick tongue rubbing against my mucous membranes was ecstatic, no matter how many times I felt it.
Soon, our saliva was so mixed that it was impossible to tell whose was whose. The liquid that had been pooling and undulating under our tongues flowed down through the gap in our touching lips the moment he tilted the angle of his face.
“…Hut….”
It was as if he were trying to block the passageway for breathing; he did not grant me any time to inhale. The moans that had leaked out softly at first began to turn increasingly breathless.
“Uung… ut….”
My chin soon became damp. Every time our lips parted for a moment, I would desperately inhale the wet air, and then he would dig into me again. One large hand, which was not holding the umbrella, grabbed my bare arm exposed beneath my short sleeve. His thick hand pressed down on my skin, and the flesh rose softly along the border of his fingers. Thanks to the tilted umbrella, the cold raindrops that had intruded collected between my highly flushed forearm and his thick fingers, then fell slowly, forming at the tip of my elbow.
“S, slowly….”
I whispered weakly when our lips parted for a moment. Because the sound of the rain ringing inside the umbrella was so loud, I wondered if he had truly heard me, but fortunately, the lips that touched me next were a bit softer.
Only after the kiss became softer did I slowly push my tongue into him. I liked the feeling of Prosecutor Joo filling me up, but when I dug in first, I also liked the kisses where he would cautiously receive me—forgetting how roughly he had kissed me earlier—and suck on the tip of my tongue.
“Heut….”
My tongue was insufficient to fill him completely. Soft flesh touched against soft flesh, and his firm teeth bit the tip of my tongue, cautiously pulling me deeper inside.
I held onto him as if clinging, lifting my toes a little higher. Every time our lips parted, the way our breaths mingled, and the heat of the moment our lips overlapped—I loved it unbearably.
The one who first put on the brakes was Prosecutor Joo. He sucked once more gently on my lower lip, which was damp with saliva, and left hot kisses on my forehead and eyelids, which had been cooled by the night air. His hand, soaked through with rainwater from holding onto me, came up and cupped my cheek. As I leaned my cheek against his broad palm and lifted my gaze diagonally, a languid voice mixed with a sigh whispered.
“There will be no end to this.”
I agreed.
“Let’s go into the hotel.”
I moved my face, which was still touching his wide palm, and nodded my head as if rubbing against it. However, because I felt a sense of longing, I couldn’t lift my head right away; I held onto Prosecutor Joo’s hand and pressed a kiss to his palm. If I could, I wanted to kiss his entire body right now. Just as he often did to me.
Only after I couldn’t easily pull my lips away and kissed his palm once more did the umbrella that had been covering the two of us float up into the air at an appropriate height.
We emerged from the shade of the windbreak trees and moved our feet back toward the center of the wooden deck. Fortunately, there was no one who had passed by, nor anyone intending to. As if only the two of us were left on this wide beach.
Prosecutor Joo took a handkerchief from his pocket and wiped away the raindrops that had splashed onto my forearm while I was lost in kissing him. The handkerchief turned deeply stained as it absorbed the moisture on my skin.
“Thank you. You even brought a handkerchief despite it being a vacation.”
“Just in case.”
It was a sort of occupational hazard. In my own luggage, which I had said that about, there was actually a handkerchief I always carried as well. The difference from usual was that instead of touching evidence, it was used for him to look after me. I blinked my eyes slowly and met his gaze.
“I… am still not used to it. Someone taking care of me.”
“You’ll get used to it in the end. It’s not difficult to build a habit for things like this. It’s only difficult to get rid of one.”
“Lately, I’m worried because the ends of my sentences keep trying to sound too casual even when I’m working.”
“It’s fine. It’s not very noticeable. You’re good at using that stiff tone, anyway.”
His thick-knuckled fingers put the handkerchief back into his pocket and stroked my hair, which had begun to curl slightly in the humid air. A sturdy arm, like a support beam, wrapped around my waist again, and the two of us moved our feet together toward the hotel.
In the lobby, we folded the long-handled umbrella and shook off the moisture. As expected, because the umbrella had kept tilting toward me, one of his shoulders was thoroughly soaked with rainwater. I stared blankly at the dark-colored area, and feeling sorry and worried, I grabbed his shoulder firmly. With his characteristic nonchalant expression, as if asking why I would worry about something like that, Prosecutor Joo brushed my fingers off his shoulder, held them for a brief moment, and let them go.
As soon as we entered the room, we went into the bathroom together. While under the hot water, we washed away the fatigue of having walked through the heavy rain. The moment we stepped into the living room of the suite while wearing bathrobes, we overlapped our lips without either of us saying who would go first.
Although I had dried them with a hairdryer, his thick fingers gently brushed through my hair, which still had a bit of moisture inside. Then, he took my hands—which were hanging clumsily by my sides—and made me wrap them around his waist. Unlike when we were outside, the movement of our touching lips was intense. It must have been because of the time we had endured while walking to the hotel.
