BJ Villainess Chapter 159

Zakari faintly lifted the corners of his mouth. Clyde was his only friend, as Zakari had no social skills at all.

“Yes, it’s been a long time. But why are you at the senate?”

“I came because I heard you were here. If I don’t come to find you, I won’t be able to see the busy Military Police Chief. I, being free, had no choice but to move.” Clyde put his arm over Zakari’s shoulder, saying so.

The two walked together to the entrance of the senate.

“The reason I haven’t seen your face isn’t because I’m busy but because you’re not on the island. When did you come to the island anyway? Your entry and exit weren’t recorded.”

“Well, that’s because I didn’t come through the gate.”

Zakari pointed out bluntly when Clyde proudly said that he broke the rules. “Don’t break the rules.”

“Why? Are you going to arrest me?”

“I’ll do that later.”

Oho, making jokes now?”

Clyde smiled mischievously. However, Zakari was more interested in Clyde’s future schedule than continuing the trivial banter.

“Are you going to stay here for a while?”

“Yeah, I guess I have to.”

You guess you have to? Zakari thought those words strangely lingered in his ears. He was about to ask what he meant by that, but Clyde changed the topic.

“Doesn’t it feel suffocating under Ilya’s rule? Isn’t there an angel to lead a rebellion?”

“If you don’t want to be arrested, you’d better not say that.”

Clyde smirked and uttered another word that was out of context. “I miss the old times. Less responsibility and duty than now, don’t you think so?”

“Not sure.”

Although Clyde was different from ordinary angels, he wasn’t usually this sentimental.

Zakari stopped the moment he left the entrance. He couldn’t get rid of the idea that something was off.

“Why did you come to see me?”

“I just wanted to see your face. I won’t be coming to the island for a while.”

“Is something wrong?”

“Nothing’s wrong.”

Clyde waved his hands as if he had seen enough of his face.

“If you get bored, come to the hotel in the central city. I’m staying there.”

Zakari watched Clyde leave the senate, then turned back the way he came. He intended to investigate where Clyde had been in the senate.

* * *

A few days flew by. Ilya clung to me almost all day long, not letting me out of his arms. He hugged me so I couldn’t move my limbs, moved me around, fed me, and took excessive care of me.

He didn’t leave the island. In addition, he set the barrier around the whole island, preventing anyone from approaching. I couldn’t leave the barrier either, so it was practically imprisonment.

Maybe this is better.  I didn’t know when Ilya’s eyes would turn red again, so I felt more at ease being with him.

Ilya only left me alone to bring food or clothes. Even now, he was away for that reason. I stared far out the window, then flopped onto the bed.

Uugh… I’m dying.”

Ding!

[You’ve looked drained lately… But you seem okay when being with Ilya. Why is that?]

I guessed the reason for my sudden deterioration.

“The game penalty must have started.”

My poor condition during sleepless nights wasn’t due to the game settings but real mental strain. However, the current physical weakness was a penalty for staying too long in ‘Demon’s Dream’.

Penalties occur every six hours. Right now, it’s just a physical weakness, but next will be reduced vision. Gradually, all senses became increasingly dull, and movement became difficult, increasing the risk of death. But I was still okay. The scenario needed time to progress, so this penalty was inevitable.

The real problem was the penalty resistance caused by the ridiculous matching rate. Ilya realized that my condition was strange and knew getting a skinship could help. From some point on, he started hugging and kissing me first, as if knowing what I wanted. I was adapting to what Ilya wanted, like an overly well-trained animal.

Being with Ilya, the long, torturous nights felt short. I could forget the hunger and thirst that hit me at times. But without him, a terrible sense of loss overcame me. I was becoming unable to do anything without him.

I fiddle with the bottle of pills in my pocket. “Clyde should be negotiating with Samuel to sacrifice himself. Or maybe it’s already done?”

The island begins to fall shortly after the game scenario negotiation is over. There’s something I’ve worked on with Clyde earlier, so the scenario will go fast.

Originally, the ideal scenario should progress with Ilya dying instead. I wished Ilya had become aware that this was a dream before he suffered from the corruption. But now, that option couldn’t be used in the current situation.

[Why don’t you create a magic that allows inventory access without the brooch?]

“I tried, but I need the actual brooch to connect with magic.” That’s why I had to carry a medicine bottle with me until I woke up from my dream.

I put the medicine bottle back in my pocket, lay on my side, and looked out the window. The moment I thought I was going to die from being bored, the door opened, and someone approached quickly.  Feeling heavy like a soaked sponge, I hurriedly hugged that person. But unlike usual, I didn’t feel revitalized.

It was the moment when I wondered what was going on.

“The welcoming is so fierce.”

Unlike Ilya’s voice, I heard a more languid and harsher voice.

“…Clyde!” I pulled away from him in surprise.

“What are you doing here?”

“I thought you’d be here, so I came.”

Clyde pinched my cheek gently. “But why did my Creator embrace someone first when I clearly told you not to make a skinship with Ilya? Hmm?”

“That’s… There was an unavoidable situation…”

“Don’t make excuses, you a hedonist.”

What do you mean by a hedonist? I tried to protest against the unfair accusation, but Clyde turned my head here and there, preventing me from speaking.

“You look thinner than before. Isn’t it getting dangerous?”

“I’m okay.”

I could still endure this much. But Clyde seemed to think otherwise and suddenly said, “Let’s go out for now.”

“Why?”

“Because Ilya has gone mad.”

What does this mean again?

Ah, since you’re stuck on the island, you don’t know what’s going on outside. Ilya disciplined a large number of angels from Central Headquarters. Apparently, it’s related to you.”

What are you talking about all of a sudden? As I made a bewildered expression, Clyde continued his explanation.

“All the angels who petitioned for you to be returned to the Central Headquarters have been all disciplined. Some are even marked for disposal.”

This was absolutely uncharacteristic behavior of Ilya. I asked if Clyde thought the same thing or if there was any other cause I didn’t know.

“I think the reason Ilya got weird is related to you. What has happened since the day we met?”

There was certainly a probable cause.

“It’s probably because the corrupted original body is dwelling in Archangel Ilya’s body.”

I explained the situation where Ilya’s eyes turned red. When I told him about Ilya almost killing a military police officer, Clyde sighed softly.

“If what you say is true, the scenario that should proceed is off the track. Ilya has no memories of reality, and is in a corrupted state. In that case, we should consider more extreme situations.”

“Like what?”

“…Maybe he will try to judge the heavenly world before he falls.”

It was such a possible story that it made me groan.

“It’s a good thing that you’re here. If we distract him with something, he won’t have time for other thoughts.”

“But how?”

Clyde suddenly picked me up. “What else? I’m kidnapping you.”
