[The human side has a teasing flavor, and the demon side is full of charm . Truly a man of many colors .]

A sigh naturally escaped me upon reading the donation content, and as I narrowed my eyes, Clyde placed my hand on top of his head. Wondering what he was up to as I looked down, he moved my hand himself to pet his head.

“Pretend to like me even for a moment.”

It sounded like a seduction, but I didn’t feel any incubus pheromones. Perhaps that’s why? His request for affection sounded more like a plea for comfort, making my intent to kick him out of the room dissipate. Not that I plan to do as he wishes.

Keeping Clyde in his demon state was clearly heading towards a bad ending route. To turn Clyde back, I needed to acquire a [Holy Water] item, but that meant maintaining this situation until the summer ball started in August.

If demon Clyde’s affection turns into a red heart in the meantime, a hidden ending called [Lover in a Dream] would trigger, leading to eternal sleep, essentially a merry bad ending. Thus, it was better to maintain a reasonable distance from the demon Clyde.

I pushed away Clyde, who had rested his cheek in my hand. “Stop it.”

Clyde immediately looked sullen. “Did you start disliking me?”

“It’s not about liking or disliking. We’re not close enough to be doing this.”

“Lies. We even shared a bed.”

His words could seriously be misunderstood by anyone listening. As I opened my mouth in disbelief, Clyde kindly pressed my chin up to close it.

“We’ve kissed and even got married, remember?”

“That was in the dungeon!”

“What does it matter? I was serious about it.”

He showed me his left ring finger, where the wedding ring exchanged in the dungeon was still prominently placed. I was startled that he had kept the wedding ring all this time.

“You still have that…?”

“I told you, I was serious.”

The one who had kept the wedding ring until now was human Clyde, not demon Clyde. Yet, he shamelessly talked about being serious.

[ㅋㅋ Why do I find demon Clyde annoying? The marriage in the dungeon and sharing a bed were all human Clyde’s doing. ㅋㅋ What gives him the right to claim someone else’s achievements?]

Was it the demon’s actions that caused discomfort? Even the constellation who liked Clyde expressed strong reluctance to his demon state.

[Why are you picking a fight? Let’s speak more kindly.]

[Calling this picking a fight ㅋㅋ. How much more softly are we supposed to talk? ㅋㅋ.]

It’s not uncommon for constellations to have differing opinions, but it was the first time I saw such sharp comments being made. It left me a bit perplexed. Until now, I hadn’t seen the constellations argue in such a harsh tone, maybe I was just lucky, or perhaps Ozworld managed it.

Just as I thought of Ozworld, a system window popped up.

Ding!

[Channel Manager – Ozworld muted the sponsorship notification from Let’s Watch Broadcast Just as Broadcast’ for 24 hours.]

He’s been watching all along.

Now that I think about it, I hadn’t seen Ozworld the entire time I was in the heavenly realm. It’s been nearly a year by my standards since I last saw him, making me curious about what he’s been up to.

Are the twins and David doing well?  Just as my thoughts drifted off.

“Where are you looking now?”

Clyde’s gaze precisely landed on the spot where the system window appeared.

Ah… I didn’t see anything?”

“Really?” He waved his hand exactly where the system window was, touching it so accurately that it made me flinch.

[How closely is Theresa being observed that even the position of the system window is accurately identified…]

Clyde tilted his head slightly, muttering in confusion. “It looked like you were reading something. Do you have a secret I don’t know about?”

“…”

Why does he have to be so unnecessarily sharp?

Stomp, stomp. Just then, the sound of someone walking up the stairs reached us. It was undoubtedly Eloise.

I hurriedly closed the open bedroom door before Eloise reached the second floor and gestured frantically for Clyde to exit through the window. Clyde shrugged as if to say, ‘Why should I?’

‘Because it’s my room, that’s why!’

As I silently scolded him with my lips, Clyde, full of mischief, stood up and walked towards the bedroom door.

“What are you doing?!” I quickly blocked his way. About to shout in a small voice again, I felt Eloise’s presence right outside the door.

Knock, knock. “Lady, are you in there?” Eloise’s voice followed.

My gaze reflexively swept over the door’s lock and Clyde’s lips. The door was locked. The only thing to silence was Clyde’s lips.

Casting a powerful silence spell, I even covered his mouth with my palm, a strong indication that I wouldn’t let him trouble me if he dared to break the silence.

“Yes, I’m in. But don’t come in. I’m doing a magic experiment, and it’s dangerous.”

“In your bedroom? Um… What about your meal then?”

Clyde just looked down at me and smiled. He seemed to find the situation amusing. Fortunately, he stayed quiet, following my lead.

“I’ll eat downstairs.”

“Understood.”

Eloise’s footsteps receded. As I relaxed and dropped my hand, Clyde chuckled.

“She’s your subordinate anyway. Just keep her mouth shut. Why so nervous?”

“It’s different. Eloise would tremble with dislike if she knew it was you…” I stopped mid-sentence, realizing my mistake.

Clyde’s smile subtly twisted. “She trembles with a dislike for me?”

“It can’t be helped… You’re from Willow, and I’m from Squire.”

Clyde looked at me with a fading smile, too serious to guess what was on his mind, leaving me feeling awkward.

“Why are you looking at me like that…?”

Responding to my question, he lightened up with a casual laugh. “It’s nothing.”

Judging by his expression, it seemed like it was really nothing.

Ding!

[The Constellation ‘No Matter What, Clyde Is the Male Protagonist’ has sponsored 1,000,000 coins.]

[I’m not sure if it’s just me, but why does Clyde seem so down?]

Yet, Clyde seemed to have no intention of explaining further, smiling tenderly as he tousled my hair. “Your reactions are so fun that I keep wanting to tease you. But I think you’ll get mad if I do more, so I’ll leave now.” He then approached the window, opened it, and left swiftly.

I couldn’t even say goodbye.

The vacant expression Clyde wore just before leaving stuck in my mind like a thorn.

Demon Clyde was always overconfident to the point of being brutal. Something was off. It was unsettling to see him deviate from his character.

The next day, I woke up to the sound of rain. Opening the window, the fresh smell of wet soil and grass lifted my spirits. But, when I thought about the exam I would take today, my good mood disappeared, and all I could do was sigh.

“A <Practical Combat Magic> exam on a rainy day.”

The content of the <Practical Combat Magic> exam is to check whether a dungeon has been created in an area that is difficult for humans to reach and whether the contaminated areas have expanded, followed by a report. If necessary, confronting demonic monsters directly could earn extra points, essentially assessing the ability to deal with demons.

Eloise brought clothes suitable for activity and a raincoat. “Didn’t Lady say you’d be exploring the forest today? It must be tough with the rain.”

“Well, I can’t help it. Oh, braid my hair today, please.”

“Leave it to me!”

The <Practical Combat Magic> exam was of high interest not only in Valhalla but also externally, as combat skill scores significantly influenced story progression in the game.

Theresa always had good grades in this subject. Plus, now, with higher intelligence and mana, it should have been easier.

I headed to today’s meeting place with a slight nervousness, spotting a man among the early arrivals who seemed to shine with a bright light. Huh, isn’t that Clyde?

Clyde was attending today’s exam.
