BJ Villainess Chapter 363
Ozworld Special Story. Bad Ending
Ozworld does not dream. It wasn’t always like that. Ever since he stole the creator’s wish and became a true villain, he became something that surpassed the singularity. Even the tiniest remnants of his humanity must have disappeared then. From that moment on, he no longer needed sleep. Time had already lost its meaning for him, and he could no longer feel cold, heat, or hunger. It was lifeless, bland. Perhaps that’s just another word for perfection?
“…”
But something was strange. Maybe it was because he had been sleeping needlessly, waking up beside another’s warmth, making breakfast for her, and kissing her forehead in those odd, daily routines. For the first time in ages, he dreamed. A damn dream where he loses Shin Jiwoo and can do nothing but watch as she falls into someone else’s arms. That dream, where he disappears in her hands, was so vivid. It couldn’t be dismissed as just a dream.
Staring up at the blurry ceiling, Ozworld suddenly rubbed his eyes. His fingertips came away wet.
“…Ha.”
Tears? A quiet, incredulous laugh escaped him. With the worst feeling, one he hoped never to feel again, he got out of bed and realized the spot next to him was empty.
This was the ‘Earth’ Ozworld had created. He had brought Jiwoo here after locking away her memories, and they were playing house in sweet domesticity. Well, or maybe it was an experiment.
What time is it now? He got up sluggishly, trying to sort out his muddled thoughts. For some reason, his senses were so jumbled that he couldn’t quite grasp the present moment.
“Isn’t today the day Jiwoo turns 26?”
This apartment had far too many people in it. As time passed, his ugly jealousy and possessiveness only grew to the point where he wanted to take Jiwoo into a void where no one else existed. But he couldn’t do that. If he did, the already sensitive Jiwoo might break the seal on her memories herself. That can’t happen.
It wasn’t hard for Ozworld to imagine Jiwoo, trembling with betrayal, mercilessly abandoning him. After all, he had just dreamed that very thing. No, it wasn’t a dream. It was the future. He had seen what would happen, in advance, through his dream.
Sighing irritably, Ozworld opened the fridge. Maybe because of seeing the future, his throat had felt parched from the moment he woke, so he reached for some water. Then he found a lunchbox with a clumsily made sandwich and a sticky note attached to the lid.
[I didn’t wake you up because you seemed to be sleeping so peacefully today. I’m off to the campus. Love you.]
He ran a finger across the words ‘Love you,’ written with careful pressure, and let out a soft chuckle. “What a lunatic…” Just that one phrase lifted his foul mood completely. The rush of blood through his whole body made him feel weightless. This feeling was what he’d learned as ‘love’ a while ago.
Ozworld found himself grinning foolishly, reading the note over and over again. Then he took out his phone and called her.
-Did you just wake up?
In her characteristically calm voice, there was a faint excitement that others might not catch. She seemed happy simply because he had woken up.
Ozworld, barely holding back laughter, gripped the back of the chair in front of him. “Yeah. You could’ve woken me. Why’d you go alone?”
-I did call you a few times. You didn’t stay up late again last night, did you?
He tried to recall what had happened the night before. “I don’t know? We both went to bed late, didn’t we?”
-You really… Whatever. My class is about to start, I’m hanging up.
“Wait, Honey.”
At the word ‘honey,’ he heard her inhale sharply over the phone. If you react to every word and gesture of mine like this, it just makes me want to tease you more. Ozworld smirked mischievously but didn’t say what he was thinking. “What you wrote on the note, I want to hear it in your voice.”
–…What are you talking about?
“Can’t you?”
When he coaxed in a slightly disappointed tone, Jiwoo sighed. That made him silently smile. Even without checking, he could tell she was hesitating because people were around. Maybe that annoying guy, Wonwoo or whatever, was nearby. Thinking of the man who had a crush on her, Ozworld’s smile turned sour.
-Do I really have to say it now?
“Yes. I want to hear it now, Honey.”
–Ugh… I love you.
“I love you too. I’ll come pick you up this afternoon.” Satisfied, Ozworld waited for her to hang up first, then burst out laughing. “She’s too cute.”
Has he ever been this happy in his life? Definitely not. Ozworld was born with everything and kept gaining more throughout his life. He had so much, so nothing was precious to him. But Jiwoo was the first thing he truly wanted.
“I can’t lose you, Jiwoo.”
Ozworld gazed longingly at her face filling his phone screen.
“I was definitely too complacent.”
He still didn’t understand how precious this love was. Having lost everything by clinging to it all instead of letting go, he thought nothing was more valuable than this.
“I only need you, and I’m just now realizing it.”
Recalling his pathetic, miserable self in the dream, Ozworld laughed with genuine joy. Thanks to that, he knew exactly what he had to do now.
Wearing his bright red suit for the first time in ages, Ozworld went straight to the Pantheon and shut down the broadcast. That wasn’t the end. He willingly sacrificed everything he had accumulated to perfect the Earth he shared with Jiwoo, so that nothing could ever intrude. He also completely erased her memories, so nothing could ever bring her back.
Ozworld never dreamed of Jiwoo forgiving or loving him again. The future her had spoken. She said he only wanted to fix her, and that wasn’t love but obsession.
You’re annoyingly smart, Jiwoo.
Thanks to her, Ozworld realized just how petty and impatient he became in front of her. It was a blow to his pride, but maybe he should be honest.
After enduring countless eons, Ozworld didn’t believe he could ever love her the ‘normal’ way. Actually, what even was the ‘normal’ way? Even after countless cycles of rewinding time to study ‘the man Jiwoo likes,’ he still didn’t truly understand it. If he slipped up even a little, she would leave him again. That can’t happen.
Ozworld poured all his wealth and power into owning Shin Jiwoo alone and returned home feeling free.
“Damn.”
He’d had so much to do, shaking off all those pursuers, that he was running late. Her class was almost over.
With an uneasy feeling, Ozworld hurried to pick up Jiwoo. As soon as he arrived at the campus parking lot and reached for his phone to call her, Jiwoo tapped on the window.
Open the door. Hurry. Ozworld couldn’t hold back his laughter when he saw her with her nose red, mouthing those words. He opened the door, and as soon as Jiwoo got in the passenger seat, he cupped her cheek and kissed her.
“Wait, we’re still on campus…” Her protest was quickly swallowed in the kiss.
Ozworld only stopped when she pushed him away. He knew they couldn’t stay here. Going home would be better for both of them. But he had already lost control.
“If I drive now, I’ll end up speeding.”
“Are you crazy?” Jiwoo smacked him at his ridiculous remark. “If you’re going to act like this, don’t come pick me up again!”
“I won’t. Sorry. Ow, it’s hurt, Honey. I was wrong.”
“You’re not hurt at all.”
Even as he was smacked, he grinned and kept kissing her lips. He felt he’d go crazy if he didn’t express this overflowing happiness somehow.
“I love you, Jiwoo.”
“What’s gotten into you today?” Eventually, Jiwoo seemed to catch his infectious mood and smiled at his childish antics. “Did something good happen?”
Still in her arms, he nodded. Yeah, something amazing happened. I get to have you completely. Acknowledging his own impatience once again, he spoke up. “Should we get married?”
Jiwoo looked flustered and glanced at her phone. She looked as if she wanted to check her quest. But even if she checked her phone, there would be no sign of any quest now. He had ended the broadcast. Ozworld, a little annoyed that Jiwoo’s focus wasn’t on him, bit her ring finger.
“Ow! W-What was that for?”
“A ring.”
A faint mark formed on her fair skin.
“I was in such a hurry and couldn’t get a ring. But I finished preparing everything for the wedding today, so let’s leave it at that.”
“Preparing for the wedding…”
In this perfect world where only the two of them existed, they would live happily ever after.
Jiwoo was startled at first, but then looked him straight in the eyes calmly. “That’s strange… I felt like you love me more today than yesterday.”
“Yeah.”
“It’s not just love. Your eyes look kind of crazy.”
“Probably.”
Like a cautious doctor checking a patient, Jiwoo cupped his cheek and gazed into his eyes for a long time. Then, as if she’d made up her mind, she spoke. “It feels a little soon, but… sure. Let’s get married.”
As soon as she accepted his proposal, Ozworld hugged her so tight that she could hardly breathe. And as if that wasn’t enough, he showered her face with kisses.
“I love you. I love you so much. I’ll make you happy.”
“I told you, we’re still on the campus!”
Before their lips met again, he whispered words overflowing with sincerity. “I’ll love you forever, Jiwoo.”
Not even death will be able to separate us.
