Webtoon Side Story: Welcome to Dungeon Hotel Branch 4 (5)

The red-haired woman, Alex, was now sitting in the garden of “Grey’s Hotel.”

Near the terrace where she was seated, a Samoyed and some small rabbits busily moved around, tending the garden.

“Woof! Woof woof! (Wow, look at this, Concierge! This is a four-leaf clover!)”

“Kyu!! Kyukyu! (I see! Wow!)”

Excited by the discovery of the four-leaf clover, the Samoyed bellboy grabbed it in its mouth and ran toward one of the rabbits—but the rabbit ended up eating it.

“Kiiyuu… (Why… why…? It’s supposed to bring luck!)”

“Kyukyu! (Bellboy, from the hotel garden’s perspective, that’s nothing more than a mere weed!)”

“Kiiiiiing… (Kiiiiiing…)”

The rabbit climbing atop the Samoyed—who was ten times its size—and scolding him looked incredibly cute, but Alex was in no position to enjoy it.

She was currently suffering from a hangover.

“Ugh… I feel like I’m going to throw up, so just stay put.”

Watching Alex slump over the table, sunglasses on and letting out tired groans, Owen Black—sitting next to her—commented.

“Why is your daughter like this? Travel blogger? She’s supposed to be doing something like that, but she’s just a lazy drunk.”

With fingers unnaturally long and chillingly slender, he picked up a fork. Seeing this, Merlin’s face twisted in anger as he snapped.

“What are you saying about someone else’s daughter? You should take care of your own family first.”

“The Black family doesn’t do this kind of vulgar business, at least. Despite appearances, the Blacks are a force that protects the world.”

“Ah… so that’s why you came to our vulgar drifters’ hotel? If you went to Yeongchun Hotel, it’d be a hassle, so you came here to always snag Yeongchun Hotel’s food, huh?”

Hearing that, Owen Black paused and lowered the forkful of Yeongchun Hotel cake he was about to eat.

No, actually, he quickly stuffed the whole bite into his mouth. It seemed he judged the cake was more important than saving face.

“I told you clearly. Tell Kim Euihae to deliver the cakes directly here. As for the gold, I’ll give as much as you want.”

As he said that, Black swept his fingers across the table, and piles of gold coins appeared on it.

It was an astonishing ability—but no one was surprised.

After all, there were no “people” at this table to be amazed.

“Baker Kim Euihae is already being treated like the best at Yeongchun Hotel. There’s no need to risk him getting fired just to sneak bread to you.”

“The cake tastes good!”

Owen Black shouted, as if he couldn’t help getting a little emotional at that.

As Black slammed the table while speaking, the sound made Alex gag and retch.

“Stop fighting, both of you! I just drank goblin wine with a thousand-year-old python, and I’m about to throw up.”

“Aren’t you sorry for fighting with the same kind of reptile? Python wine?!”

“Don’t call the Dragon clan reptiles!”

The fight between Black and Grey didn’t stop.

Not until Merlin froze midair, staring at something.

Hotel Owner

What did you do? Why is a sudden quest popping up?

What did you…do?

A sudden quest?

At that moment, he felt a chilling premonition and glared at Owen.

“What did you do?”

At those words, Owen had already polished off the fluffy cake and furrowed his brow.

Owen, having already devoured the entire fluffy cake, frowned.

“What do you mean, ‘what did I do’?”

“Don’t pretend you don’t know again…!”

Merlin was on the verge of grabbing Owen by the collar and shaking him.

Alex, who was beside him, shouted,

“This time it’s really coming ouuuut!”

“Ah, no, hold back!”

“Woof woof woof! (I just cleared all the weeds…!)”

“Uweeeek….”

The Samoyed barked wildly while the rabbits panicked.

And Merlin frowned as he looked at the former Demon King—the guardian of the current world—whose expression screamed that he just wanted to disappear.

What a total mess.

Owen Black says it’s not him though? What quest is it?

It’s a sudden quest. And there’s something strange about the reward.

Affinity with spirits.

Why on earth would that be necessary?

I’m already close with Geumdong and Toto.

All the other spirits are busy working.

In other words, that reward has nothing to do with the spirits I have now…

‘Something about this feels off.’

But it seemed necessary to check.

Not just because the idea of increasing a guest’s satisfaction through the Ultimate Recipe was tempting.

‘Satisfaction 100%… that’s always tempting…’

But more important than that was something else.

In fact, no matter where in the world you run a hotel, one thing is indispensable: alcohol, especially wine.

In hotel management, you can’t separate F&B, so I had tried to develop my own taste and discernment for wine.

But no matter how much I tasted—

‘It’s all just delicious.’

Alcohol is just for getting drunk, after all.

And yet, to discover an “Ultimate Recipe” in the realm of spirits…

I couldn’t let this opportunity pass.

I looked at the drawing of Saint-Libert Castle on the wine label.

A castle by the seaside.

Its original purpose was a monastery.

This monastery, which had existed since the 11th century, was perched by the shore like a painting.

In fact, despite its beautiful appearance, the monastery carried a rather dark reputation.

Being in such an isolated location, there were rumors that it had been used as a place of exile for mentally unstable members of the royal family or those who had committed crimes.

On top of that, during the First and Second World Wars, the castle had apparently been occupied alternately by the German and Allied forces and used as a fortress.

‘No wonder there were silly rumors about ghosts appearing.’

But the important thing wasn’t some soldier ghost.

The important thing was the winery attached to that castle.

‘If I go to that winery, I’ll probably figure out the true nature of the quest reward.’

I thought so as I started driving.

“The weather’s turning bad. The forecast didn’t say it would rain.”

Raindrops began to fall, one by one.

Perhaps because of the wind that came with the rain, the waves had grown quite rough.

Even so, the bright red Ford I was driving sped along the coastal road, shrouded in thick storm clouds.

Han Woo-hyun had become quite skilled at driving, but my anxiousness got the better of me, and I took the wheel.

“Let’s slow down a bit.”

“Mhm.”

By the time the red Ford arrived at the winery, shrouded in heavy storm clouds, it was barely around 2 p.m.

Yet the darkness around gave the illusion that it was already evening.

As I was about to get out, Han Woo-hyun took off his blue jacket and handed it to me.

“Put this on for now.”

I brought the jacket close to my face and inhaled the familiar scent of Han Woohyun.

For a moment, he just stared blankly at me.

“Why…?”

“…Nothing, just…”

He stared at me blankly.

“Now I understand why people call you a cat.”

“…?”

Not understanding what he meant, I looked up at him. His face flushed red. Then, after a brief pause, he ran toward the entrance of the winery.

The winery entrance was blocked by a small iron gate with a little sign attached.

He fiddled with the iron gate for a moment, then ran back toward me.

“They say it’s on vacation. It won’t be open for a while.”

“Not open? Then….”

What about my Ultimate Recipe?

I hurried toward the winery entrance, my heart pounding.

As Han Woohyun had said, the gate only had a sign that said it was on vacation.

There was no mention of when it would reopen.

The winery beyond the iron gate looked like a secret garden.

Where there was no gate, the area was enclosed by shrubs slightly shorter than the grapevines, and unless one intended to steal, entering was considered impolite.

“So, the master is…”

I sighed, feeling exhausted.

At that moment, a bright white headlight shone on us from behind.

Soon after, a white SUV stopped in front of us.

After a brief pause, a middle-aged man stepped out of the SUV.

The man walked over to where we were, holding an umbrella, and looked at the sign with a disappointed expression.

“Oh? The winery is closed?”

“Yes. They said it’s on holiday. Do you happen to know until when?”

“I have no idea. We’d have to call to find out.”

“Do you have their phone number?”

“Yes. I’m actually the original owner of this winery.”

He, with an unusually red nose, scratched the back of his head and replied.

“Excuse me? You’re saying you’re the owner?”

What… so this is the master?

“Ah, let’s not stay here for now. You know there’s a castle nearby, right? The Libert Monastery. That’s the place I inherited. Let’s head there first. In the warehouse next to it, there should be some wine left. You didn’t come just to buy wine, did you?”

For some reason, at the rough suggestion of this man, Han Woo-hyun and I exchanged glances.

I recalled Merlin Grey’s last message.

Former Hotel Owner

I’ll handle that Black guy for now, so you try completing the quest. Once you complete it, you’ll understand the intent of the quest giver, won’t you?

…Right. First, let’s complete the quest quickly.

“Let’s go.”

Boom!

It happened then. Lightning flashed, and thunder shook the sky.

“Whoa, a lightning strike’s coming close. Be careful following me.”

The weather was extremely ominous.
