There was a small commotion. First, the employees said they were worried and came to me in tears, making me quickly wash up and change my clothes. The soft texture was refreshing.

“Is there anything uncomfortable? I don’t think you have a fever anymore.”

“It’s alright.”

Thanks to taking the inhibitors, even though it was late, the boiling fever disappeared. I felt relaxed when I returned to my normal body temperature.

“But let me know if there’s any more pain. We’ll go to the hospital right away.”

The woman who said that looked at my neck. I was embarrassed and scratched my cheek.

‘Now everyone else can see the marks made by the dark hands.’

It was still unclear what change it meant to see the handprints. I could only guess that it was something related to the real Seong Chan-young that led to my nightmare.

“I’m really fine. I know what you’re worried about, but this won’t happen again.”

“……I see.”

The lady sighed and gave a bitter answer. As expected, the strange commotion appeared to have damaged my credibility.

“So now, shall we hear the whole story about what happened to you?”

Baek Do-jun asked with a smile. It was clearly the smile of a handsome man, but Chae Yoon-chan and Joo Tae-gang, who were next to him, rubbed their arms when they saw that smile.

“He’s angry.”

“It’s been a while since I’ve seen him so worked up. Oh, you were angry because of Seong Chan-young last time, right?”

“……that?”

It was strangely chilling, but I didn’t know Baek Do-jun would be very angry. I wiggled my body under the thick blanket.

‘It’s awkward.’

And a little itchy. I thought hell would await me when I woke up, but what I actually encountered was warmth filled with concern for me. The strange satisfaction that it was because of me that made him so angry warmed my heart.

“Are you mad…”

Still, when I gently asked because I didn’t want to be hated, Baek Do-jun made a puzzled expression and pursed his lips.

“…I am not, so tell me your story. I want to hear it.”

Other alphas also nodded at Baek Do-jun’s words. The bed shook slightly because of their fierce nods.

“That’s right. Seong Chan-young. I want to know what happened to you.”

“Even though we say we’re by your side with an unreasonable excuse, we’re also worried about you because we….lik, like you.”

“Joo Tae-kang, you really don’t look good at stuttering at the end.”

“Then, how good are you, Yoo Yi-seo? You look lost your composure and was scrambling earlier─Mppmh.”

“Let’s be quiet.”

“Would you all please be quiet? Chanyoung, it’s been only a while since Chan-young woke up and you’re already this loud.”

Seo Eun-soo, who was carefully cutting a rabbit-shaped apple next to me, roared. Everyone was silent because what he said was not wrong. It was comfortable when the noisy room finally became quiet.

“…but still, Chan-young, I’d like you to tell us what happened. From Chan-young, yourself.”

Seo Eun-soo held out a sloppy rabbit apple with a fork. It was a piece of apple with scattered apple skin. I took it and smiled.

“Well, where should I begin? First of all, did everyone notice that I was an omega?”

Five alphas shook their heads all at once. My room, which had gone through the heat cycle, was still covered with pheromones I emitted. I opened all the windows and turned on the air purifier to ventilate, but the faint scent of peaches remained on the tip of my nose.

“…..Is that so?”

Yoo Yi-seo answered with a complicated look. Why does a person who has always been relaxed look like he stepped on poop?

“My real trait is not beta; it’s a recessive omega. It’s a omega that can’t normally secrete pheromones. When my final trait presented, I hid myself as beta in despair after hearing the result that I wasn’t a dominant omega.”

This was the true story of Seong Chan-young. It wasn’t my story, but I had already been caught and what happened to the real Seong Chan-young bothered me, so I convinced myself that it would be okay to reveal the truth.

“The reason I did that was because I was jealous of Seo Eun-soo. Dominance is an excellent trait that I don’t have. I was very distressed because Seo Eun-soo, who was a dominant omega, had that and I was diagnosed as a recessive.”

It wasn’t difficult to tell the truth that wasn’t even mine. Joo Tae-gang frowned at me as I calmly confided.

“…is it because of us?”

‘Is it guilt? I don’t need that.’

“For me at the time, it was. All of my favorite alphas turned to Seo Eun-soo. At least when I was a dominant omega, there was still hope that it would come true, but it all disappeared.”

So the real Seong Chan-young tried to woo the original characters, even if it meant hiding his traits, but they all rejected him. The resentment of being rejected deepened, turned into resentment, and ultimately provided the opportunity for destruction.

‘I can’t tell you that.’

That’s all the truth we can share. I couldn’t bear to tell you that I am not the real Seong Chan-young.

‘Not yet.’

It was because of my intuition that this was not the right time. I felt guilty, but it was better to postpone it.

I couldn’t tell you until the time came, until I completely caught out the existence of the real Seong Chan-young that was bothering me.

“……Is that why you disguised yourself as a beta?”

“It was partly due to the fact that I am the youngest son of Seong Eun Group. All my family members except me were born with the dominant trait. They decided it would be better to hide it from the public, and I agreed with that.”

“How come… Does Chairman Seong know about it too?”

Chae Yoon-chan hesitated, grabbed the edge of my hand and looked at me with a worried look. I liked the warm warmth delivered to my hands.

“He knows. I was not close with the chairman back then. He wouldn’t care whatever I did.”

“Did you… have you been shunned by your family?”

“I would say so. Not now, though. At least Chariman Seong, my grandfather, is rooting for me from the bottom of his heart. Please try to understand his situation as much as possible.”

“…….”

When I said that, the five alphas became solemn. And looked a little blank. I wondered what was wrong with them, but Seo Eun-soo was the first to come to his senses and smile broadly.

“Chan-young ah, you were so pretty when you just smiled.”

“Oh, did I? Did I simle…”

I must have smiled without realizing it when I thought of Chairman Seong, who seemed to do nothing for his youngest grandson. At first, he was a character from the original that I wanted to stay away from, but now that I don’t want to give up on this life, it seems like he has become a reliable ally.

“……can I make you smile like that?”

“Yoo Yi-seo, what did you just say?”

“It’s nothing, so let’s talk about it later.”

My temper was short-tempered. I grumbled at Yoo Yi-seo’s feisty face and continued the story. Since this was after I transmigrated, I made appropriate adjustments.

‘The reason why I transmigrated… There will be a chance to let you know. I’ll tell you later.’

This wasn’t enough yet. I wanted to tell you that when I had built a wall of trust a little by a little.

“Hiding my traits and harassing you endlessly, I came to the realization that all of this was meaningless. I thought it was time to end my life of tormenting others and receiving only contempt rather than love.”

“No way did you try to make an extreme choice when….”

When Baek Do-jun stepped in, I quickly cut off his words.

“Oh, by the way. I didn’t tell you, but Baek Do-jun knew that I was a recessive omega.”

“What?!”

Everyone opened their eyes wide in surprise at what I said. The gazes of the alphas were focused on Baek Do-jun.

“Baek Do-jun?”

“You acted like you liked Seo Eun-soo in the front, but in the back, you didn’t…?”

When the strange misunderstanding was about to be amplified, Baek Do-jun screamed and confessed.

“When I hated Chan-young, I put someone with him because I didn’t know what kind of accident would happen.  That’s why I knew that Chan-young was not a beta.”

“I would have done so if ‘I’ had tormented Baek Do-jun.”

“That was…that.”

They were partially aware that Baek Do-jun and Seong Chan-young were engaged. It was only a rumor that they were engaged, but in reality, Baek Do-jun unilaterally acted as an errand boy.

“Okay. That aside…. What is that extreme choice that Baek Do-jun mentioned earlier?”

Baek Do-joon avoided looking sideways at Joo Tae-kang’s criticism. I told Joo Tae-gang the truth. I wondered at the moment how he would have answered if I were the real Seong Chan-young.

What was the reason why Seong Chan-young’s body became empty without an owner? Why did Seong Chan-young take unexpected actions that were not in the original?

‘And why is he chasing me relentlessly?’

As if he was threatening me to give him back his body again.

“I said it earlier that I wanted to end all this.”

“…….”

“I think that’s why I did it. Hoping that everything would be solved.”

I still felt like I could hear the voice from the nightmare.

—It’s easy to give up.

‘Is that the despair you, Seong Chan-young experienced yourself?’

To flee by giving up everything and sleeping forever.

I did, but I woke up because I transmigrated into this body.

Is it a coincidence that I transmigrated into Seong Chan-young’s body, who wanted to abandon life more than anyone else?

“But I woke up again, and now I decided I should live a different life.”

I wanted to be happy my way, not you, Seong Chan-young’s way. That was all I wanted.

“That’s why I left you. Although I had a strong desire to live a leisurely life while farming, I also wanted to be happy with my free body after getting rid of all the mistakes that ‘I’ had made.

  1. yayyyyy hundredth chapter!!! you’re doing great Flo!!! thank you thank you!!!

I still feel super indignant and sad about the original’s backstory, while also feeling complicated that the original SCY is definitely a villain. It’s good he’s telling them this much, and good that they’re willing to listen. Wondering how he’s gonna explain away the handprints though… I dunno if this is really the last time THAT will happen…

    1. Thank you very much!!! <333 @chimichimi @SIMPlyForManhwaMen
Same here! I thought maybe the nightmares could be due to his heart demons but the handprints can't be explained at all! And how is he even going to tell them about the handprints?! *bites the blanket anxiously*

  2. Thank you so much for the 100th chapter!!! I’m happy he’s talking but I wish he would reveal the transmigration as well. But maybe baby stepping it will work better. Kind of agree with chimichimi, how you gonna explain the hand prints, boo???

  3. This may sound mean but I want them to suffer with the thought that he tried to commit suicide. I know he’s not the original SCY and none of them are wholly responsible for the depression he felt but I can’t help but think about if one of them had offered og!SCY any kind of affection or genuine kindness instead of him constantly feeling rejected, unworthy, and unloved if it could have changed things for og!SCY.
