Novel Will Be Taken Down on 17 May or Earlier Chapter 32 - The basics are important

Author: LyraDhani

The Scream.

Nam Taemin’s face was distorted like that famous painting.

“…Aaah!”

He suddenly screamed.

The monsters weren’t even anywhere in sight.

Did he activate enrage?

“What? What is it all of sudden, Nam Taemin?”

“Hyung, did you eat something wrong?”

“That’s why I told you to stop eating cup noodles earlier…”

The faces of the guild members were colored with bewilderment.

They noticed his emotional changes.

Blood thicker than water.

Nam Cheolmin was the only one who understood.

– …Huft. Yeah, I told you it’s strange!

Not letting go of the string of hope, he pushed for the recruitment of Lee Hoyeol.

Thinking that no news was good news, they went to target the Yusra Islands.

But what was this sight in front of them?

“Oh, how could this happen!?”

Knights of Lionheart.

Showing up with those monster NPCs!

If they had given up early, they would have been less shocked.

However, this allowed them to neatly give up their regrets.

– Taemin, we have no choice but to go to plan B.

Indeed, Nam Cheolmin made a quick decision befitting of an analyst.

What he meant was simple.

– Friendly relationship. If that doesn’t work, we should avoid having a hostile relationship.

If you can’t handle it, don’t touch it.

Nam Taemin nodded.

“…Yes, seeing it in person, it does wonder to my anger issue.”

A human-sized greatsword and a one-handed sword.

Although the size was different, Nam Taemin wielded those swords, just like Harkon.

That’s why he could guess.

The difference in level.

The same was true of the Berserker from the next island.

“Ugya?”

The person who made the strange noise was Leonie.

“…Unnie, is that a new aegyo?”

Shut up.

She needed to tackle them right away.

She was so surprised that she didn’t think to do it.

The instinct of a berserker who knew nothing but battle.

Leonie reflexively began to quote.

‘…All-out war? Surprise? Group beating?! No, whatever it is.’

Harkon Kingsguard.

She didn’t think she could beat that old man.

Leonie scratched her head.

“Aah. Seriously!!”

It was the last island.

She hadn’t acquired a treasure of the island.

She had promised herself that she would go crazy and run amok.

“That’s cheating!”

The Knights of Lionheart.

How could they pop out of nowhere?

Let alone the treasure of the island.

Could she win the disposal contribution of the named monster?

Trudge–

Leonie felt deadly tired and had no choice but to move.

“…What?”

She had a short height.

Due to her relatively narrow field of view.

Leonie was one beat late behind the others.

She could see the man with the knights.

“T-That…?!”

Among the knights in glittering plate armor.

There was a silver-haired man in a black suit.

Hoyeol.

“I knew it would be like this.”

Shining.

“How can that Korean kid do that?”

Union.

Whir–

Even helicopters in the sky.

There was no need to distinguish them.

At this moment.

Everyone’s eyes were on Hoyeol and the Knights of Lionheart.

.

.

.

Looking at me.

Have I ever received this much attention in my life?

The fact alone would frighten me.

“You fulfill the minimum formality.”

I was rather pleased with the enormous interest.

Thanks to them, I realized once again.

“It’s a significant improvement.”

This shamelessness…!

How can you say that now?

I wanted to ask myself if I could.

It couldn’t be helped.

I could sense it too.

I could see that the current silence and the gazes were never a good response.

If I changed my position, it made sense.

‘I would be surprised too.’

If a player showed up with the Knights of Lionheart, who were called the strongest in the Empire. That too, in a situation where the treasure of the island was ahead.

‘It’s natural they would be vigilant.’

But.

‘I’m going crazy, too…!’

An alliance between me and the Knights of Lionheart.

Wasn’t this a relationship that started from an illusion?

To be precise, it probably started from their overestimation of me.

How do they view me?

I wouldn’t know just by thinking about it.

But I could guarantee one thing.

‘At least they can’t imagine the fact that I’m level 166.’

What if those bubbles burst?

Maybe I would be treated like a fraud later on.

If it were me in the past.

I would have been nervous.

But now I was confident.

It wasn’t just because of Grandfel’s influence.

Yeah, I was struggling.

Because I was always struggling.

Because I made sure I wouldn’t sink.

『If he’s underestimated, he can prove himself to them. Because he’s the one who ends up making the overestimation a reality.』

…More and more getting into the setting.

I felt like I was becoming more like Grandfel.

It didn’t matter.

Dark history was not something to be immersed in, but to overcome.

Because Grandfel was just me from the past.

‘It’s a lonely fight no one recognizes.’

But I hadn’t been as lonely as I was now.

Harkon, who was by my side, matched my pace.

“I see, discipline seems to have been established. Is it Sir Hoyeol’s work?”

I felt like he was worse than me.

Anyway, now we had to focus on the enemy in front of us.

The last named monster in the Yusra Islands.

[Giant Lava Koi: Lv.420]

In the midst of the tension, it appeared.

Indeed, just like its name suggested.

It was already hot from the beginning.

Gurgle–!

“…Do you feel that? The ground is shaking!”

“Is it an earthquake?”

“No, it’s going to explode. It’s a volcanic eruption!”

The players shouted.

It was as they said.

Puff–!

Smoke rose from the mountain in the center of the island and red lava began to erupt.

As expected of a named monster.

There was definitely something different than the level.

“There’s nothing to be scared of. It goes according to the plan.”

“Equipment with fire resistance options, everyone has packed that, right?”

“Anyone on cooldown? Can you give me one blessing?”

Of course, there were no players who were flustered or confused.

They could see that information in the update history.

Giant ‘Lava’ Koi.

Just by looking at the name, they could tell what to prepare for.

“This is not good.”

Harkon’s forehead wrinkled.

Although it was difficult to imagine that the NPCs summoned from Arcana could check the update history on the homepage.

Even if they had checked, it wouldn’t have been easy for them to prepare.

I, who had been silent, opened my mouth.

“There’s no need to worry. Sir Harkon.”

It wasn’t a bluff.

Fire resistance equipment?

Fire resistance buff?

Why would I need that?

I had 『magic』.

I checked the remaining amount of mana.

‘It’s only a little, but the regenerated mana is about 80%.’

Indeed, it was worthwhile not being satisfied with the effect of the brooch and kept saving up mana.

With this much mana on the last island.

I could use magic without worry.

I was done talking.

“I didn’t lead you here without a countermeasure.”

*

Today Arcana.

Experts spoke enthusiastically at the screen being transmitted.

“I-I don’t know what’s going on here. Even if you look up to before and after the Cataclysm, it’s definitely unprecedented! The player and the knights. And to appear with the Knights of Lionheart, the strongest of the Empire?!”

“I agree. Since his first appearance, he’s been showing really ridiculous moves. Player Lee Hoyeol!”

“According to a report that just came in, Player Lee Hoyeol also acquired the treasure of the island. In alliance with the Knights of Lionheart, he defeated a named monster, Golden Fang Giant Turtle!”

“Isn’t the Golden Fang Giant Turtle the highest-level named monster in the new update history? Expert-nim?”

As a result of Gaon’s performance.

The excited atmosphere of the studio became even hotter.

Lee Hoyeol, regardless of whether his interview attitude was frank or cocky.

What’s the point of all that?

“With this kind of performance, even if you say things you shouldn’t say in the future, we will understand! I’m so proud. Player Lee Hoyeol!”

It feels as though something that had been suppressed was refreshingly released.

The casts were drunk with lingering emotions.

The named monster appeared.

It was already chaotic from the beginning.

“As expected of a named monster. It changes the environment.”

Because they filmed from the sky, they could see the reversed situation at a glance.

At the sight of soaring lava engulfing the island at a rapid pace.

The experts expressed their concern.

“…That must be tricky?”

“Their movements are bound to be restricted.”

“I hope the players are well prepared.”

But it wasn’t just the environment that was tricky to deal with.

Such as the fact that it swam in the water.

Giant Lava Koi started to swim through the engulfing lava.

Plop-!

It ran rampant by splashing lava with its huge body.

It was only natural that lava splashed everywhere.

The players’ struggles were also broadcasted.

“…If it wasn’t for the buff, they would have suffered a lot.”

“It’s quite annoying. It won’t fight at all.”

“It’s just running away, but the damage is accumulating to the players! That goldfish! Why is it so clever on the subject of fish!”

“Expert-nim, it’s not a goldfish, it’s koi…”

“This or that. Aren’t they both fish heads?!”

It was enough to make them inadvertently annoyed.

The war situation was extraordinary.

The biggest problem was that it had no intention of fighting.

Close combat was impossible because of the rolling lava.

Even if the players shot long-range attacks, including magic, it hid in lava to minimize damage.

The cast carefully gathered their opinions.

“It will be a long battle.”

At that moment.

That prediction was overturned.

On the broadcast screen, it suddenly escalated.

Those who watched silently were shocked.

“H-Hold on! The lava is splitting right now?”

*

Although the measure of level had always been absolute.

Sometimes compatibility was just as important.

For example, such as now.

“It doesn’t seem easy to approach. Commander.”

Level-600 Harkon.

Even if the named monster was at level 420, it wouldn’t be a problem for him.

If only he could get closer.

No, if it was willing to attack and took little damage, Harkon would be able to deal with it.

“I wish it can show even just a small gap. It doesn’t seem to have any intention of doing that.”

That’s why, compatibility mattered.

Either in its environment or characteristic.

However, that compatibility applied differently to me.

I looked at the lava.

I looked around.

Since this lava wasn’t [skill] or anything.

Just like the scattered stones.

There was no need to go through the inefficient process.

‘It’s all possible thanks to Grandfel’s setup.’

Of course, since it was not a familiar material like stone, creative interference was impossible.

But it was okay.

Because I wasn’t alone.

I manifested my magic.

Added to the interference process was simple positional manipulation.

Since it was an unfamiliar explore material, it consumed a considerable amount of mana.

It wasn’t difficult to manifest.

Therefore.

Sssh–!

Soon, the lava split.

Harkon said to me.

“I feel foolish for doubting you for a moment. Sir Hoyeol!”

Harkon clearly looked surprised.

That great Harkon was surprised by me.

It was only natural that the players were shocked.

“That’s crazy…!”

“He’s doing that. He’s really splitting the lava right now?!”

“I can’t even tell what kind of skill it is!”

Magic enabled creative manifestation, unlike skills.

Even with Granfel’s mind, It took me a few days to realize it.

They wouldn’t understand even if I explained it kindly.

So I told Harkon.

“There is no need to climb the stairs this time. Sir Harkon.”

A personality that didn’t alternate between joy and sorrow.

Even in this situation, I could joke just fine.

Harkon pulled out his sword and raised the corners of his mouth.

“I can’t help but reciprocate your extended consideration!”

Through the cracks of lava.

Knights of Lionheart rushed in.

Admirably.

‘I don’t know about party members, but they’re reliable. All of them are.’

But my work didn’t end there.

I had to do my best as long as I had the remaining mana.

Now that I had a party.

I have to contribute to the disposal enough to get the experience points and loot…!

Of course, I couldn’t use up a lot of mana.

Until Harkon and the knights didn’t get swept away by lava.

I had to maintain my current manifestation.

‘The among of remaining mana is extremely small.’

What I could do with a very small amount of mana.

Interfere with the most familiar explore material, ‘stone’.

And this was it.

This was why I was confident that I had the upper hand in terms of compatibility.

Split lava.

As a result, the shape of the rapidly cooled lava changed.

‘…Well, it can’t be helped.’

I had promised I wouldn’t fight dirty.

In the end, I had no choice but to take the elementary science course again.

Basalt was formed when lava cooled.

Even if the name was different, it was essentially a stone.

Stone, the most familiar explore material to me.

So exploration, interference, manifestation.

The process was swift and rapid.

It also consumed an extremely insignificant amount of mana.

Crush–!

Dozens of stone spears soon rose into the air.

Swoosh–

I blew the stone spear at the lava koi’s flank.

“…Crazy!!”

“I-Is this for real? Really?”

“W-What are we looking at now…?”

At this moment, the eyes on me didn’t matter.

A manifestation of magic that drew everything out of existence.

This was my way, too.

I said calmly.

“It hit.”

  1. Okay but I love this magic/science union he is using. It makes my brain so happy. Back when I used to play D&D there was one player who loved making science wizards like this and using really basic spells in weird ways to attack, they were a chem major and it was fantastic.

    1. Yea I love how he really made use of his surrounding and has many tricks (and lucks lol x,D), not just because he has too much mana or something (not that it’s bad)

    2. Me too.
Whenever magic is explained according to science rules or just explained properly, it feels so much more fun and you can tell that proper thoughts were put into the writing 😊☺️

  2. Thank you for the chapter! Keep up the good work
