“What?”

At Selleana’s words, Rakrensius’s ears turned bright red.

“Master of Tower, you just came back after being harassed by those guys, didn’t you?”

“Yes, that’s right…”

“Your Lea levels must be low, right? Let’s disappear and have some intimate time.” With the last whisper, Selleana giggled, making sure everyone knew they were close.

When she looked up at him, the man’s face was blushing deeply as he bent down for her to whisper comfortably. Ah, this is something only I should see. As she covered his face with her fan, she left a quick kiss on his cheek.

“It’s been a while, Lady. May Orot’s blessing be upon your peaceful evening.”

Oh, it’s been a while, Lady Jenon.” Selleana greeted the visitor, omitting the name of the god who tried to ruin her life. “Have you been well?”

Hmm, yes, thanks to you.”

Selleana chuckled inwardly at Eunice Jenon’s greeting.

Um, Darling?” She quickly wiped her lipstick mark from Rakrensius’s cheek while making it look like she was caressing his face lovingly. “You haven’t met Lady Jenon yet, have you?”

“I greet you for the first time, Your Highness the Fifth Prince. My name is Eunice, daughter of Marquis Jenon.”

“Nice to meet you. I’m Rakrensius. I’ve heard a lot about you…” In fact, all he knew was that she was the one Selleana was pushing to become the crown princess.

“That, um…” Eunice Jenon, who had been watching the two with interest, slowly brought up her business. “I wanted to thank you, Lady.”

“Thank me? For what?”

“Well, someone seems to have given some honest advice to the crown prince, and I’m very grateful for that. Thanks to that, I became the crown prince’s partner today.”

Ah.”

Unlike Rakrensius, who entered with the emperor, Pavellian entered with his usual partner. Since that partner was Eunice Jenon, rumors were spreading among the people that the winner of the selection contest had already been decided.

“Last time, I wondered why Lady was angry with me… The ‘other person’ you mentioned was the fifth prince, wasn’t it…?”

It was back then, at the emperor’s birthday celebration, when Selleana first declared she had a lover. Rakrensius, who didn’t know this, looked puzzled.

“That’s right.” Selleana smiled softly. “To you, the crown prince might be the most perfect man… but I fell in love with the fifth prince at first sight.” Then she quickly hugged Rakrensius’s arm.

All eyes in the banquet hall were on them.

“Did you hear it? You hear it, right?”

“Lady Elard fell in love at first sight…!”

“Well, he’s handsome…”

“No wonder she made the first move…!”

The murmuring of people was loud enough for everyone to hear. Though it was what Selleana intended, Rakrensius’s face soon turned pale.

“Just bear with it a little longer, okay?” Selleana pushed his long bangs, parted to one side, behind his ear to show off his handsome face more.

“Because of Lady Jenon, the former Duchess Langton felt at ease to proceed with the selection without me.”

“Did it turn out that way…?”

“So I’m really thankful to you. I hope you achieve good results, and we can often meet with smiles.” With those words, Selleana smiled brightly. That smile wasn’t the usual guilty smile she wore in social circles. It was full of shyness and happiness, leaving those who saw it mesmerized. It was the unguarded smile that Rakrensius sometimes worried people might see.

Eunice also stared blankly at this unfamiliar side of Selleana.

“Then, we’ll take our leave.”

“It was nice meeting you.”

“Yes, have a pleasant time. May Your Highness also have a peaceful night.”

After politely exchanging farewells with Eunice Jenon, the two left the banquet hall intimately, toward the corridor leading to the balcony where Selleana had been singing about earlier.

The audience was excited by the couple’s bold public display of affection as they disappeared to enjoy a rendezvous. However, the only one who was restless about it was Duke Elard.

Selleana led Rakrensius down the corridor to the balcony where the curtains were still open.

“Lady, you said your feet hurt… Ah, right, you said it was just an excuse.” The barrage of gazes they had received had left Rakrensius dizzy, and he could barely follow her brisk pace with a white blank mind.

Opening the balcony door, drawing the curtains carefully, and closing the door behind them. Selleana pushed Rakrensius against the glass balcony door, rested her chin on his chest, and looked up at him. “How was today?”

“What exactly… do you mean?”

“You were the star of the show today, Master of Tower. How did it feel to have everyone trying to impress you?”

Sigh, well…”

As she caressed his tired cheek, Selleana chuckled. “You did well. Think of it as an after-service for the job today.”

“After-service…?”

Um, that, the process of ensuring customer satisfaction…?”

Realizing Selleana had mixed up her words again, Rakrensius laughed shortly.

It was always pleasant to see his sculpted face smile under the moonlight. Even though she was the same face in the imperial palace at night, she hadn’t seen this during the emperor’s birthday celebration.

Selleana grinned as she pulled his hands to wrap around her waist, pressed her lower body against him, and began unbuttoning his coat…

“What are you doing…”

“This is what people usually do on balconies.”

“What?”

“What do you think a couple does when no one is watching? They touch and kiss each other.”

“Lady, but we are still outside…”

Hiing, but it’s cold.” She burrowed into his coat and looked up at him with a tearful face.

“Then let’s go somewhere warm.”

With her shoulders already covered by his coat, Selleana hugged his waist tightly.

“Are you just going to leave tonight? If so, you shouldn’t have come looking so handsome. I almost died of a heart attack when I saw you.”

“That…”

Rakrensius’s lips trembled at Selleana’s playful remark.

“Lady, I mean…”

“Lea.” Selleana left a short kiss on his chin. “You easily call me Lea in front of His Majesty, but why do you act like this when we’re alone?”

“Lady, you too…”

“Then can I keep calling you Collin?”

“…Of course.”

“Then let’s go, Collin.”

“Is it okay to leave without saying anything?”

“When people enter the balcony, they usually stay for at least an hour. And my family always leaves me first anyway.”

“Still, now you are disappearing with me…”

“It’s okay, really. Hurry, please? It’s too cold…” Selleana let her eyebrows droop and looked at him with shining eyes, tightening her hold around his waist.

Oh, goodness. She knows she’s pretty and uses it to her advantage all the time. Rakrensius sighed at the angelic loveliness that always made him feel lucky and quickly cast a spell. Even if his lover didn’t tempt him like this, he was already eager to be with her.

It was Rakrensius’s quarters in the Magic Tower. The room, once desolate, now had winter blankets, vases, and objects reflecting Selleana’s tastes, hinting at her frequent visits. The vase held preserved orange gerberas, Selleana’s favorite flowers.

The couple leaned against each other in bed under the same blanket, their shoulders, legs, and arms entwined.

“What’s the story behind the name Collin?” Selleana asked, resting her head on Rakrensius’s shoulder and looking up at him.

“It’s my childhood name.”

“Childhood name…”

“If you read ‘Colendor’ in the Arancha language, it becomes ‘Collindor,’ which is pronounced as ‘Collin’.”

Gasp. I didn’t realize it even though it’s Master of Tower’s full name.” Selleana sat up suddenly, pressing on the bed.

“Yes, so I was relieved that Lady didn’t recognize it…” Rakrensius quickly covered her with the blanket when her bare shoulders came out.

“Then, I’m the only one who knows this name now? Since your mother used to call you that.”

“Yes, only you, Lady.”

“Lea.” Selleana hugged Rakrensius’s neck and lay on his firm chest. She softly bit his lips with a smiling mouth. “If you don’t call me Lea, there won’t be next time, Collin.”

“…Lea.” His response was immediate.

Rakrensius’s large hand, comfortably covering the back of her head, wove through her jet-black hair. Pulling her closer, their lips met in a passionate kiss, each wanting to consume more of the other. His other hand traced her curves.

[Hey, Rakrensius.]

Suddenly, a voice echoed in Rakrensius’s mind. Usually, Di would retreat into its own world when things got steamy between them…

[I don’t want to interrupt, but… I thought you should know this.]

As a friend, Di probably didn’t like this situation either.

Unable to completely ignore Di, Rakrensius paused for a moment.

[Duke Elard is currently sending fervent messages to Selleana.]
