The light of dawn clung to Woo Yeonjae’s reddened eyes, stained from tears. Unlike the sunlight that once illuminated his white eyes, it carried a cold, sharp hue.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, Woo Yeonjae reached out, running his fingers through the hair he had washed and dried himself. Moon Seoyoon let out a soft groan in his sleep.

He hadn’t exaggerated when he said he was turned on. The rush of excitement had come on so fast that he wanted to dive into Moon Seoyoon and take control, without restraint. The intense thrill still simmered even hours later, though the satisfaction of getting what he wanted left him somewhat content.

“Moon Seoyoon.”

Woo Yeonjae softly murmured the name with its gentle sound.

He recalled the moment their gazes had locked when Moon Seoyoon had looked away from the piano. That overwhelming sensation he’d felt in an instant was creeping up on him again, like a wave washing over him.

“Don’t run away.”

In the instant their eyes met, Woo Yeonjae realized something.

The object of Moon Seoyoon’s affections wasn’t Liszt’s compositions or the piano.

“Now really…”

As that uncontrollable affection soaked into his face, making him smile in a pained way, Woo Yeonjae had a sudden realization.

“You only have me, don’t you?”

His hand, which had been playfully messing up Moon Seoyoon’s hair, slipped down, pressing against the lips that were releasing shaky breaths. The soft, warm flesh yielded easily to his unrestrained touch.

A distinct emotion swept over him, one he had rarely felt before.

It was a frenzied ecstasy.

An uncontrollable sense of joy clung persistently to his long-smiling lips.

In other words, Woo Yeonjae had claimed all of Moon Seoyoon.

Not only had he taken over his entire world, but also even the tiniest feelings of unrequited love that might have stained it.

In the end, the place Moon Seoyoon’s dormitory belongings were moved to was not his family home but Woo Yeonjae’s studio apartment. He knew it was a foolish choice, but once someone makes a wrong decision, they are bound to make more. It seemed the situation had spiraled out of control ever since the moment he grabbed onto the suggestion of sex instead of clearing up Woo Yeonjae’s misunderstanding.

‘It’s not like I’m resisting now…’

Moon Seoyoon stepped into the dormitory, chastising himself.

In truth, the target of his rebellion wasn’t clear. It wasn’t a rebellion against his father, nor was it against Woo Yeonjae. It was a vague sense of defiance. Maybe it was directed at himself. The greed he had suppressed over the past seven years had seeped out without him even realizing it, forming an ugly result.

He wasn’t greedy for Woo Yeonjae’s heart. He knew better than anyone that such a desire was overstepping, a greed too large for him. More than that, he simply wanted to be with him for a little while longer. In just a year and a few months, it would become difficult to even see his face.

Surely, for just two short months, this kind of greed was okay.

“One foolish thing, and now I must have lost my mind.”

He let out a self-deprecating sigh.

Moon Seoyoon had slept with Woo Yeonjae. Twice.

There was no force involved—it had been his choice entirely. But despite that, he couldn’t shake off the self-loathing. Yet here he was, walking into his unrequited love’s studio apartment. How pathetic.

‘But we agreed to use separate rooms.’

It was an excuse, bordering on self-justification.

“Haa…”

Moon Seoyoon exhaled as he began unpacking.

As he busied himself with the mindless task of organizing, the events of a few days ago resurfaced. Last weekend, after the sex with Woo Yeonjae, when he woke up.

Unlike the last time, when they had both lazed in bed, Woo Yeonjae wasn’t there. It was only when the sunlight began to seep through the windows that Moon Seoyoon realized it was well past dawn. Though the thought of getting up crossed his mind, his body ached too much to move as he wished.

He gave up on getting out of bed, curling up under the covers in defiance. He buried his face in the sheets, blinking slowly, when a familiar silhouette entered the room.

‘Drink this.’

Moon Seoyoon blinked dully before sitting up, a beat late. The blanket slid off him, revealing his bare, mottled skin, but he wasn’t aware of his exposed state. He only took the water Woo Yeonjae handed him. He hadn’t noticed the lingering gaze that trailed over his body as he drank.

“How… how did you know I was thirsty?”

His first words, spoken to cover his embarrassment, were utterly insignificant.

‘You said you were thirsty.’

‘Me?’

‘You mumbled it earlier.’

Apparently, he had felt thirsty in his sleep.

‘Did you go get water for me?’

Moon Seoyoon handed the cup back as he asked.

Unusually, instead of taking the empty cup to the kitchen, Woo Yeonjae set it on the side table. Before Moon Seoyoon could wonder why, he climbed back into bed and pulled him into an embrace.

Moon Seoyoon, suddenly flat on his back, blinked in confusion.

‘What are you doing?’

‘What do you mean?’

‘…Why are you hugging me? And why are you lying down again?’

‘Seoyoon.’

Woo Yeonjae frowned.

‘I told you not to show off habits you picked up from being with other guys.’

Only then did Moon Seoyoon realize that Woo Yeonjae was referring to the morning after their first time. The misunderstanding that started when he awkwardly tried to avoid the situation had carried on until now.

‘…Sorry. I’ll be more careful.’

Since it was a misunderstanding that couldn’t be explained away, all Moon Seoyoon could do was apologize.

‘When you looked at me with such a sad expression…’

Moon Seoyoon blinked at the unexpected words.

‘I looked at you sadly?’

Why had he made such a face? Only now did it occur to him that maybe it was because Woo Yeonjae hadn’t been there. He didn’t think his mind had been clear enough to feel sadness, but perhaps some unrecognized emotion had seeped into his expression without him knowing.

It was absurd to feel guilty emotions toward a friend who had just done him a favor, someone who wasn’t even his lover.

‘Should I show you a mirror?’

Woo Yeonjae chuckled playfully as if he hadn’t just mentioned Seoyoon’s expression.

‘…What mirror?’

‘I’m not going to kick you out right after sex, like some other guys…’

Moon Seoyoon tried to brush it off with a joke as usual, but Woo Yeonjae propped himself up on his elbow and grabbed his wrist.

‘If you’re going to sleep, just sleep more.’

Only after the warmth of his body pressed against him did Moon Seoyoon feel a faint pain. He unconsciously lowered his gaze. His bare wrist was wrapped in Woo Yeonjae’s long, thick fingers. The memory of Woo Yeonjae holding him tightly the night before flashed in his mind, and heat suddenly rushed to his face. If he stayed like this any longer, his cheeks would probably start burning.

‘I need to get up.’

He tried to rise, feeling that if he stayed still, it would become too obvious. But his body, still sluggish from sleep, wouldn’t cooperate. Eventually, he gave up on forcing his wrist free and instead focused on thinking about something else. The way Woo Yeonjae’s fingers playfully traced along the tendons in his wrist made him feel like things could easily take a turn for the worse if he wasn’t careful.

‘What are you going to do if you get up now?’

‘Just…’

For a moment, Seoyoon was at a loss for words. He did have a shift at the café, but it wasn’t until later in the afternoon.

‘You’re going to be staying here all throughout the break anyway.’

Woo Yeonjae’s assumption that this was where Seoyoon would be living for the foreseeable future was delivered with a casual smile. Since he was lying on his side, supporting his face, his cheek was pressed into his hand, making his eyes curve softly.

‘Better get used to it.’

The fingers that had been tracing his tendons slid down to grasp his entire wrist. The gentle pressure brought on a sensation that felt almost like a dull pain, yet it tingled with pleasure.

“Ah.”

Lost in thought as he moved his belongings, Moon Seoyoon accidentally bumped his knee against the bed. The pain made it clear he’d probably end up with a bruise, and he rubbed his leg as he snapped out of his reverie. Letting out a habitual sigh, he hurried to finish unpacking. Thanks to having packed his things in advance before the semester ended, there wasn’t too much left to take care of, though the bedding was rather bulky.

“Got everything?”

Woo Yeonjae’s voice suddenly came from behind him. Moon Seoyoon turned his head. It seemed like Woo Yeonjae had easily slipped inside, as the door was wide open due to the move-out period. Over his shoulder, Moon Seoyoon could see the door left ajar.

“Did you park?”

“Yeah. Right out front.”

“There’s probably not much parking space, with all the cars around.”

“That’s why it took me so long to get up here.”

Since Seoyoon hadn’t brought his own car from home, they had arrived in Woo Yeonjae’s car.

Even though this wasn’t his first time here, Woo Yeonjae scanned the interior of the room again. His gaze drifted from the packed boxes to the now-empty bed on the opposite side of the room. Moon Seoyoon didn’t think much of it as he picked up a box.

“Move out of the way. I’ll stack these up and move them out.”

Woo Yeonjae’s eyes, which had been staring blankly at the empty bed, rolled toward him. As he grabbed a box from Seoyoon, he said:

“Let’s move them together.”

His voice carried an oddly irritated tone.
