Waiting For Your Reincarnation Chapter 106
After leaving Jaeho’s lab, Yeon-young headed straight for Ryu Won’s house.
Forgetting to take off her outerwear, Yeon-young cautiously entered his room.
Moonlight filtered through the transparent windows, illuminating his face.
“Mr. Ryu Won.”
She called his name just in case, but Ryu Won didn’t respond.
His consciousness still hadn’t returned.
Yeon-young cautiously reached out and placed her hand on Ryu Won’s forehead. It was lukewarm.
Her hand moved from his forehead to the bridge of his nose and lingered for a moment over his lips.
She checked Ryu Won’s left hand, a habit she’d developed since witnessing his core shatter.
“Did I tell you to read his memories…”
Zhaolin had said as they exited Jaeho’s lab.
“Once I do, I can categorize them into two groups: one definite spy and one potential spy.”
“Do you think Ryu Won is really a spy?”
“Well…, it’s hard to say since we don’t have any evidence yet.”
“Isn’t that, right?”
“Use your abilities to find out.”
“My abilities?”
“Why don’t you just search through his memories for anything related to Negro or Jung Jaeho?”
“I don’t feel comfortable looking through other people’s memories…”
“In a situation like this, isn’t it even more stupid to hide the means and methods?”
At that moment, Zhaolin looked at Yeon-young in disbelief.
In retrospect, it was kind of funny that she hesitated to read his memories while the world of Tanato was in turmoil.
Ryu Won’s left hand was clasped tightly in both of hers. Then she began to sift through his memories like she was swimming through the ocean.
She moved her fingers in the air, sifting through his memories, which were organized like books.
Some shelves were filled with memories, all of them related to her.
Before she knew it, she was a huge part of Ryu Won’s memories.
‘So is the space in my memory…’
Yeon-young fell silent as she remembered the chained flower tree.
Finding information about Negro wasn’t as easy as she thought it would be.
Not only was it time-consuming to sift through his memories, but other things were distracting her.
Like Ryu Won’s voice, for example.
“Finally, we meet.”
Yeon-young turned her head in the direction of the voice.
She turned in the direction of the voice, and the moment when she and Ryu Won first met in Tanato unfolded before her eyes.
It was like she was being pulled by a memory.
“I can’t believe we can talk again.”
Ryu Won seemed so relaxed to Yeon-young back then. He’d swept her off her feet with an all-knowing attitude.
But now, she could see it. Behind his relaxed smile, his eyes were busy scanning for her reaction.
She couldn’t help but smile at the way he looked at her for the first time.
“Can we try a kiss?”
His voice was soft and low, his breath clinging to her ear, and she couldn’t help but pull back.
She could feel heat rising from the nape of her neck to her face.
Ryu Won led her with an effortless touch. In a flowing, relaxed atmosphere, he approached Yeon-young.
His natural, virtuous tone, his affectionate gaze, his familiarity with everything. And his hidden fingertips, trembling with nervousness.
The moment she saw it; she held her breath. Then a memory flashed through her mind.
“Argo.”
Yeon-young opened her eyes, still holding his hands. She swept back her hair, which had fallen forward, helplessly.
It had been a long time since her powers had manifested and she’d been so forcibly jerked out of his memories. She didn’t have the energy to read them again.
Yeon-young was the one who had been swayed by the memories, but she looked down on Ryu Won for sleeping through them.
“Why do I have to read those memories?”
Yeon-young reached out with her right hand and grabbed his nose. A human would have choked, but she knew this sensation would be nothing to Ryu Won.
When he didn’t react, she slowly released her hand.
“I’ve never seen you kiss before.”
Even so, her gaze naturally returned to his lips. His lips, like dry petals, were parted ever so slightly.
The lifeless lips felt cold and dry, and she reached out to touch them. She gently pressed her hand to his lips, as if to transfer the warmth of her hand. She could feel the fluffy sensation of his lips as the warmth from her hand was transmitted through her fingers.
“Is this the kissing timing Mr. Ryu Won said?”
Yeon-Young thought about the kiss she’d shared with him in her dream. It had been affectionate, tender, and even respectful.
When the moment came to wake up, she didn’t want to get up because of that warm kiss.
Yeon-young stood up and sat up slightly on the bed. She remembered his suggestion to kiss her to jog her memory.
“I really need to think of something.”
She knew it was a ploy, but she was tempted just in case. Yeon-young tilted her head and looked down at him. Her jet-black hair tickled his face.
Then his eyes twitched slightly around the corners. Yeon-young jerked back slightly in surprise, but Ryu Won didn’t move.
“Am I mistaken?”
Yeon-young slowly lowered her hand that was hovering over her lips. She felt like she’d been caught stealing.
She shook her head and stood up.
Suddenly, she felt like she was waking up from a peaceful dream. The moonlight that had been shining down on his face was gone. It was time to return to her room.
“Ugh.”
It was then. Someone grabbed Yeon-young’s wrist as she started to walk out the door and pulled her back.
She was caught off guard by the sudden ambush. Feeling like she was going to fall, Yeon-young held her breath and squeezed her eyes shut.
Then she felt a fluffy sensation on her back. She breathed out a sigh of relief and opened her eyes to see Ryu Won smiling at her with his naturally virtuous face.
Ryu Won laid her down on the bed and sat on top of her, checking on her.
Finally, he regained consciousness.
Yeon-young stared up at him, dazed.
“…Mr. Ryu Won?”
“Yes, Ms. Yeon-young.”
She called his name, and he answered.
It felt like a dream as those eyes, which had been closed for days, looked at her without any emotion.
She barely parted her lips as the white eyes stared back at her intently.
“Is this a dream?”
“Do you want it to be a dream?”
“No, I don’t want it to be a dream. When did you wake up?”
“Since you walked into this room?”
“Then why didn’t you answer when I called you?”
Yeon-young clenched her fist and slammed it into his hard chest pecs, and then he caught her wrist with a gentle touch.
When she felt the warmth of his hand over her wrist, she realized he had regained consciousness.
He flexed his arm slightly, closing the gap even further. Yeon-young wanted to pull back, but she couldn’t move any further.
He smiled broadly, as if he liked the situation quite a bit.
“Ms. Yeon-Young, what do you do when someone is unconscious?”
“Well, I don’t know…. Do you call the emergency room?”
“No, artificial respiration.”
“Ah.”
“But why didn’t you do anything, Ms. Yeon-Young, when I lost consciousness?”
“Because I was so panicked at the time… And why did you do something so dangerous? I told you it was okay, why didn’t you believe me?”
“What?”
“The core would have been irreversibly broken, and you were lucky the Sly’s powder worked, or you could have been annihilated.”
“Ah.”
Yeon-young spat out the words she’d been holding back.
Ryu Won was at a loss for words at first, but when she finished, he seemed to understand what she meant by that moment.
Ryu Won stroked her cheek with his large, firm hand.
“Do you understand my feelings now?”
“I understand, so don’t jump in again.”
“Well, I’ve seen you do it too, but, Yeon-young.”
“Why are you calling me that?”
“I was just talking to you today.”
The hand that had been stroking her cheek eventually reached her lips. His index finger pressed and released her lips with a slow stroke.
Yeon-young’s nerves raced toward her lips.
“You said it was the perfect time to kiss me, but why did you just walk away without doing anything? I was looking forward to it with my eyes closed.”
“No…, that’s because I was thinking… And it’s a crime to do that when the other person is unconscious.”
“If you’re right, then I’m already a criminal.”
Ryu Won’s index finger stopped at the tip of her lips.
His white eyes radiated a strange heat, and Yeon-young swallowed dryly when she felt it.
Blinking slowly, as if in greeting, he leaned a little closer to her.
“I can’t make Yeon-young the wife of a criminal.”
“…….”
“How about it, now’s a good time for a kiss. How about we have a reunion kiss?”
“…….”
“Huh?”
“…Yeah.”
Looking at him, Yeon-young lowered her eyes and muttered something.
Ryu Won stood up slightly and moved away, as if he knew what she was saying without having to listen.
As she watched him walk away, she squeezed the end of her sleeve hard and spoke again.
“…Do it.”
“What?”
“Kiss me. You said now was the time.”
Hearing her answer, Ryu Won held his breath and didn’t move.
