Waiting For Your Reincarnation Chapter 116
Yeon-young took no other route and headed straight for the chairman’s office. When she opened the door to the chairman’s office, the first thing she saw was Ryu Won sitting on the couch, flipping through some papers.
When he spotted her, he smiled so brightly that his eyes disappeared. Ryu Won laid the papers down on the table with a slow touch. He looked like a graceful swan.
“You just got back?”
“Yes, thanks to you. By the way, where is the chairman?”
At her question, Ryu Won jerked toward an inner room. He fiddled with his ring and scratched his head.
“What’s that on your hand?”
“Uh…, it’s a long story, but it’s Ji Hua’s core.”
“The same Ahn Ji Hua I know?”
“Yes. I found out where the temple is.”
The movement of fiddling with the ring stopped abruptly. Ryu Won stared at her questioningly, as if he’d heard something wrong.
Yeon-young nodded once, confirming that she had been to the temple.
Ryu Won jumped to his feet and examined her body.
“…The temple have disappeared, and the path leading to the field…”
“It was in the library. The path connected to the library, to be exact.”
“You’re not hurt?”
“As you can see, I’m fine, I just found Ji Hua’s core and came right out.”
He looked at Yeon-young, watching her for every little reaction. She shrugged her shoulders and gave him an okay look.
She held out her left hand to show him a closer look at Ji Hua’s core. Ryu Won finally seemed to believe that she had indeed been to the temple.
A faint breeze blew around them, as if he had unknowingly exhaled.
Yeon-young turned her gaze to where Saeri was. Ryu Won’s gaze followed the movement.
“Do you really need to see her today? I called the emergency team…”
Ryu Won glanced at his ring and looked at the call history. It must have taken Yeon-young a while to get back from the temple, and they still hadn’t responded.
“Even if she does, it’ll be hard to talk to her, she’s not in a very good state right now.”
“Then maybe we should go even more.”
“Why? Did something happen at the temple?”
Ryu Won’s eyes were tense. Yeon-young wrapped her hands around the core, which looked like it was about to decay at any moment. She turned to face Ryu Won and spoke low.
“I still haven’t figured out what my punishment will be, but I’m sure of one other thing.”
“What is that?”
“You know that the Tanato spirits believe that Iris is the source of this world.”
“…That’s right.”
“But there’s another god, and she’s closer to us than we think, and she’s always been there.”
Ryu Won’s brow furrowed slightly as he tried to gauge the implications of Yeon-young’s words.
She let out a weak laugh and stared intently into the room where Saeri was, then turned her head and looked at Ryu Won with clear, crystal-clear eyes.
“The chairman was the goddess who created this world, Goddess Tanato.”
Ryu Won’s throat cleared once in response. His misty eyes fluttered slightly. Ryu Won’s thick chest heaved up and down as if it were about to burst.
“Saeri is a god?”
“She wore a mask and was by our side. The person inside her, inside the Chairman, was like the goddess statue I saw in a temple.”
“So you’re saying that Shin Saeri… was deceiving and tricking us?”
“Well, you’ll have to listen to the story to find out.”
“After killing you and hiding like a rat, she has the audacity to poke her head in here, how dare she. With that kind of face.”
Saeri killed Yeon-young.
Hearing those words, she opened her eyes wide and stared at Ryu Won.
So, Ryu Won was…
He didn’t know what he said now.
Ryu Won, who had been staring at the ground, suddenly raised his head. Yeon-young could feel that the wind that had been faintly hovering around him was slowly changing its nature.
It was cold, frosty, and chilling.
His eyes were filled with nothing but anger. The objects in the chairman’s office were tossed about in the air by the gust of wind he exhaled. A small storm raged.
“Mr. RyuWon!”
Yeon-young covered her face with her arms and stared at him. Ryu Won’s core was rapidly and uncontrollably stained with black aura.
‘Why the hell now?’
Her heart burned as black as Ryu Won’s core. A gust of wind tore open the window in the chairman’s office and blew it outside. Bookshelves toppled to the floor with a loud crash, and the center building shook.
Yeon-young reached out to reach him, but the wind was too strong.
An ear-piercing siren blared through the center. She couldn’t tell if it was Snarl’s intrusion or Ryu Won’s rampage, but her chest tightened with anxiety as her vision filled with red light.
The sound of hinges collapsing, the door shattered. Ryu Won pursed his lips, glared into the room, and walked toward it without hesitation.
“Ryu Won, come with me…!”
Yeon-young followed behind him, prepared for any eventuality. She tucked the Ji Hua Core in her hand into her pocket so it wouldn’t blow away in the wind. She mentally reminded herself of the leash. She was the only one who could stop Ryu Won.
Saeri was leaning against the head of the bed, her eyes tightly closed, as if she had known they would come here.
Ryu Won seemed to have been waiting for this moment.
The moment he spotted Saeri, Ryu Won reached out. In the blink of an eye, he grabbed SAeri by the throat.
In the blink of an eye, Saeri revealed her hidden golden eyes and stared at Ryu Won.
Ryu Won smirked as he watched.
“I was looking elsewhere when it was right in front of me. Silly.”
Saeri coughed with a faint smile. The harder she breathed out, the more her carefully constructed form crumbled.
Soon, all that remained was the familiar figure on the bed. Saeri reached out with difficulty and grasped Ryu Won’s wrist. His eyebrows twitched ever so slightly.
“Do you really have to make me use my last bit of strength?”
*Thud.*
The fierce sound passed and silence fell. The wind died down and the sirens shut off.
Yeon-young looked from one to the other, barely able to breathe. With a wave of Saeri’s hand, everything cleared up.
In retrospect, Saeri had never hidden her powers; Ryu Won and Yeon-young just didn’t know because they didn’t suspect.
Like a tree taking root in the ground, the inside of the center building gradually became stable. It was an amazing ability.
“You shouldn’t be doing this, *Kollok.*”
“Shut up.”
She’d never seen him so angry. Suddenly sober, she grabbed Ryu Won’s hand, the frightening energy rising from the ring finger of his left hand waning.
Ryu Won looked down at her luscious hair and whispered.
“Ms. Yeon-young, now is not the time to pull the leash.”
“…….”
“It’s time to tell her to bite.”
“First…, let go, there’s still a lot I need to hear.”
“…….”
Yeon-young reached out a little further, wrapping her arms around his waist and hugging him tightly. Snarl’s energy seemed to seep into her as well. She felt a heavy, overwhelming emotion.
How much had Ryu Won endured and waited for as the only survivor?
She buried her face in his side, feeling the corners of her eyes grow hot.
“I can’t understand everything about you, because I haven’t remembered everything yet.”
“…….”
“But I do understand a little now, how much you struggled on your own.”
Even with her eyes closed, Yeon-young could see clearly, and with each word she spat out, the brainwashed Snarl’s aura slowly subsided. Behind the black smoke, Ryu Won’s pristine core was revealed.
“Zephyto.”
Finally, Yeon-young spoke the name that had disappeared from the world. At the same time, someone hugged her tightly. The smell of fresh grass filling her nostrils was all she needed to know who it was. It was him.
“Not yet. Killing them won’t solve everything, so…, wait.”
Yeon-young lifted her head gently. There it was again, that face. A pale face that looked like it could burst into tears at any moment. Still, she was relieved. Ryu Won’s face was a mixture of joy and disbelief.
As Saeri watched, she lowered her gaze. And then she let out a tiny, false laugh. It was a laugh of acceptance.
“Anyone can be a Snarl.”
“…….”
“That was the worst mistake I ever made.”
Saeri’s muffled voice was the only sound in the ruined chairman’s office, and light poured in as if the things she’d been holding tightly were bursting out of a hole.
It was a memory Saeri had kept to herself.
