As twilight began to descend, Evelyn’s exhausted body felt heavy with fatigue.

It was time for her eyes to droop naturally, but she couldn’t help feeling a sense of regret, just as he did, about her drenched state.

“Before I could fully savor the fact that you became mine, and I became yours, we had to go through all that chaos…”

The two days in the palace had been peaceful and sweet.

Though confined to the annex and unable to move freely, it was a blissful time because she spent every moment with him.

Every day, as soon as she opened her eyes, she nestled into his embrace, and they kissed until the moment she fell asleep.

Day and night, whenever they had a chance, they caressed each other’s bodies and whispered words of love. Yet, despite this, he never attempted to take things further.

It was because Evelyn’s physical condition wasn’t entirely stable. No matter how much she pleaded, it was futile.

“I don’t want to hurt you.”

“It’s okay, really…”

“Your body temperature is so high. If I were to take you in this state, you wouldn’t be able to handle it.”

Thus, he treated her as delicately as handling broken glass, acting as though he feared losing her.

Whether it was because of the events on their wedding day or some other change in his feelings, Evelyn couldn’t be sure.

Whatever the reason, she was deeply grateful for his unusual consideration, though she couldn’t help but miss the way his presence had once filled her completely.

“Hold me as much as I’ve been lacking… I want that today.”

“…What?”

“When I think I won’t be able to see you for a while, I feel like tying down the waning moon.”

When he grabbed her wrist to stop her, he looked utterly bewildered.

Evelyn, still gripping his wrist tightly, lowered her head like a scolded child.

“If it’s what you desire, even if it’s rough, or a bit too intense and overwhelming, I can accept it.”

* * *

“Sigh.”

With a troubled expression, he wiped his face and silently gazed at her.

Only a few hours had passed since she was swept through the gate and they reunited in the dungeon.

But knowing their past made it feel as though eons had gone by.

Seeing her alive and breathing before him filled him with both pity and love, making his heart ache unbearably.

That was why he couldn’t hold back his tears when he saw her again in the dungeon.

Their first night.

Yes, it was important.

But to him, something mattered more than fulfilling his desires or purging his dark energy.

It was Evelyn herself.

Nothing was more important than being able to smell her scent again and touch her soft skin.

“If you want to hold me as much as I’ve been lacking… even if we were to stay together like one body for a lifetime, it wouldn’t be enough.”

Perhaps thinking it was nonsense, the tension in her body eased, and Kalian finally released her from his embrace.

“Look at me.”

Her face, ripe like a fully matured fruit, swayed gently. Her entire body seemed to scream embarrassment, and it was utterly endearing.

This was troublesome.

Though he had kissed and sucked her breathlessly, he had no intention of consummating their relationship in a moving carriage.

There was a place he wanted to show Evelyn.

He had held back again and again to properly share their first night there, but seeing her disheveled and bowing her head so cutely left him at a loss.

Unable to find an answer, he cupped her chin and forced her to meet his gaze.

Her eyes, red as if she might cry, were distorted with desire. The heat swirling within them held unquenched longing.

This sight was for his eyes only.

He kissed her damp eyelids, the bridge of her nose, and finally her lips.

Then, he smiled as gently as he could.

“Are you saying you’ll understand how devastated your husband has been?”

When he asked with a crooked smile, her wandering gaze finally settled.

“…Were you really that devastated?”

Her eyes seemed to say that if it was so hard, he shouldn’t have held back.

“I felt the same way,” Evelyn admitted, lowering her eyes in embarrassment.

“I just wanted you to hold me, but it felt like you kept avoiding me…”

“I was avoiding you?” Kalian tilted his head, recalling his actions over the past two days.

“In my mind, I’ve been stuck to your side like a newborn pup for the past two days.”

“That’s not it…”

As she hesitated, he nodded as if understanding.

“So, you’re saying you want to stop playing childish games and do it properly.”

Her pale face flushed at his blunt words. When she lowered her gaze, the redness spread to her chest.

Watching her expression change intently, he chuckled as if finding her adorable.

Then, he pulled her face closer and carefully pressed his lips to hers.

He explored her warm, tender flesh, gently biting her lower lip before releasing it. Her honest body trembled with excitement.

As he pulled away, he stared into her teary, crimson eyes.

What am I going to do with you?’

A look of intense contemplation crossed his calm gaze.

At the same time, an insatiable possessiveness surged within him.

His hand, stroking her fuller-than-usual body, carried a heavy weight.

But he quickly calmed his racing heart and reined in his fleeting reason.

“But not here.”

“…Huh?”

‘Are you serious?’

‘You’re going to stop after getting me all excited?’

Her eyes filled with countless question marks as she suddenly undid her hair tie.

“What are you doing…?”

For a moment, his gaze was captivated by her cascading hair, but soon she began to whimper as she tied his wrists behind his back.

Kalian was momentarily stunned but soon complied, curious about what his adorable wife was up to.

“You must not untie them,” she instructed firmly, exhaling with satisfaction after securing his wrists.

So, what are you planning to do now?’

As if reading his thoughts, Evelyn removed her shoes and climbed onto his lap, her right hand subtly moving downward.

“I told you, I don’t want to stop.”

The rustling sound of her dress being lifted heightened the tension to its limit. He swallowed dryly without realizing it.

“So, watch closely. Even if you don’t satisfy me, I’ll… ahh.”

Her sudden moan drew his gaze downward. And then…

“Ah, Evelyn…”

“Ahh…”

His eyes darkened.

His heart raced wildly. He was overwhelmed with the urge to break the lace binding his wrists and give her what she wanted.

As he struggled with his instincts, Evelyn called out to him in a pitiful voice.

“Ah, Kal…”

No matter how much she called his name, there was nothing he could do.

He could only lick his lips as her swollen chest heaved.

Of course, breaking the lace would be easy.

But this was like an unspoken promise between them.

Just as she had once kept a blindfold on and refrained from touching it until he released her, this was their agreement.

Even so, this is too much.’

Kalian watched his wife’s mischievous antics with his hands bound behind his back.

His mouth went dry, and his breathing grew ragged with unfamiliar excitement.

‘If only I could move one hand…’

Annoyed by his own restraint, he playfully nudged the part of her sitting on him.

“Ah!”

Evelyn grabbed his shoulder with one hand and shot him a reproachful look.

But Kalian couldn’t see it. His gaze was fixed elsewhere.

His eyelids trembled as his excitement peaked. He closed his mouth and whispered hoarsely.

“Since we’ve started, we might as well do it properly. If it’s too hard, I can help.”

He licked his lips and whispered like a devil. His earlier promise to handle her gently had long flown away with his reason.

“I’ll ask again. Should I help you?”
