My Tamed Beast Returned with a Dragon Chapter 12 - If He's This Strong, It's Basically Cheating!

Author: Asternkm

A clearing not far from the house.

It was the spot where the monsters often lounged, but tonight, it was the battlefield where Dochun Guild’s core members faced off against Belquior.

Yoo Eunsae stood under a large tree, holding the baby.

Her monsters surrounded her protectively.

The sky had long since turned dark.

They illuminated the area using items powered by mana stones.

Eunsae glanced between her warming up friends and Belquior, who watched boredly.

“Um… do we really have to do this?”

“Of course! If you draw your sword, you might as well chop some radishes!”

Sol stretched her limbs with an excited grin.

“She’s right. When else will we get an opportunity like this?”

“Well… it’s already happening, so…”

“Eunsae, just focus on being the referee.”

“I still don’t get why we’re fighting…”

Unlike his confident teammates, Inchan looked nervous as he adjusted his shield.

Belquior tilted his head slightly.

“So be it.”

Eunsae sighed, giving up on stopping them.

She trusted both sides to handle themselves.

Dochun Guild instinctively took formation—

The same battle formation they used to hunt monsters.

Woori, Sol, and Inchan at the front.

Yuha in the center.

Mirinae in the rear.

As the tank, Inchan usually rotated between the front and back, but today—since they had no idea how strong Belquior was—he stayed at the front.

A sharp tension filled the air.

Eunsae spoke firmly.

“First, no aiming to kill. And if possible, avoid unnecessary environmental destruction. Second, when I say stop, you stop. Understood?”

“OK.”

“Understood.”

“Then…”

Eunsae blew the whistle she usually used to call her monsters.

Immediately, Woori and Sol unleashed their abilities.

“Namgoong Sol, left!”

“Roger!”

Woori and Sol attacked in unison.

From both sides, they lunged at Belquior with a sword coated in aura and a spear forged from flames.

“…….”

Belquior leapt effortlessly into the air, dodging them.

Then, Yuha’s arrows rained down like a bombardment.

“Tricks.”

Belquior grabbed at the air.

The space itself distorted, and the light arrows were sucked into nothingness.

“What the hell?! How is that even fair?!”

“What kind of ability is that?”

Mirinae, the strategist of the group, narrowed her eyes.

Then she shouted—

“Switch to the Twisted Tower Dungeon strategy!”

“Got it!”

Sol’s flames intensified.

Woori sliced open his palm, drawing dark blood.

As Woori’s shadow-infused blood mixed with Sol’s flames, a deadly weapon was born—

A power so intense even a light graze would leave nothing but ashes.

Sensing the danger, Belquior raised his magic.

Intricate magic circles formed at his fingertips.

BOOOOOM!

The two forces clashed, creating a whirlwind of raw destruction.

Before the dust could settle, Inchan instinctively raised his shield.

CLANG! CRACK!

The force of Belquior’s attack left a deep gash in his shield.

If he hadn’t blocked it, someone would’ve suffered a fatal wound.

The sheer power was overwhelming.

Though he looked human, fighting him felt like fighting a true beast.

“Inchan, hit and run! Yuha, concentrate fire!”

“Han Woori, activate Gravity Shift! Draw his aggro!”

“Namgoong Sol, trigger chain detonation!”

The attacks kept coming.

Woori and Sol pressed forward, while Yuha sniped openings under Mirinae’s command.

Eunsae’s monsters threw themselves in front of her and the baby to block any stray damage.

Eunsae gently patted the baby’s back, making sure he wasn’t startled.

She watched the battlefield-turned-wasteland with concern.

Then—

Belquior grabbed Woori mid-air and threw him to the ground.

“Urgh!”

Woori groaned as he slammed into the earth.

Sol appeared behind Belquior and thrust her spear.

But—

She stabbed empty air.

“Where is he?!”

Before she could turn around—

A blinding pain shot through her spine.

Sol let out a scream before growling in fury.

“Damn dragon.”

“Your speech is vulgar.”

Unlike the battered and bloodied Dochun team—

Belquior’s only sign of exertion was his slightly disheveled hair.

Fury surged through Sol.

Her unique ability—Fighting Spirit—activated.

True to her title “Fire Phoenix Empress,” she became a living inferno and lunged at Belquior.

Her speed shot up to impossible levels, barely visible to the naked eye.

With Mirinae’s buffs, she reached a state of total battle focus.

But it lasted only a moment.

Belquior grabbed her by the back of the neck—

And slammed her into the ground.

And then he bound her with magic.

Sol, completely immobilized, thrashed and shouted.

“If you’re this strong, it’s basically cheating!”

Belquior scoffed.

“That’s what happens when you grow up pampered in a greenhouse, surrounded by people who worship you.”

Sol gritted her teeth in rage.

SWOOSH!

Yuha’s arrow whizzed between them, forcing Belquior to step back.

He clicked his tongue.

“With that ability, it’s a shame you can’t use it properly.”

“What?”

In response, a mass of light bloomed from Belquior’s palm—eerily similar to Yuha’s power.

He dropped it between Yuha and Inchan, and the moment it touched the ground—

It spun violently, carving deep furrows into the battlefield, turning everything to dust.

It looked like a massive claw had raked through the earth.

Yuha’s face paled.

“Hah… Hah…”

Woori, who had taken the worst beating, was now so battered that even healing spells were barely helping.

Blood gushed from his lips as he staggered.

Yet, despite his wrecked state, his eyes still burned.

A thirst for battle.

Frustration.

The crushing weight of defeat.

The desperate hunger to become stronger.

Eunsae, who had been watching anxiously, finally shouted.

“Enough! Stop!”

“I CAN STILL FIGHT!”

Sol roared.

SMACK.

Bloodied and bruised, Inchan silently walked up to her—

And clamped a hand over her mouth.

“Mmm! Mmph! Mmmph!”

A tense silence followed.

Then, Mirinae, lips pressed tightly together, bowed her head.

“…We surrender.”

Woori and Yuha collapsed.

Mirinae, her heart heavy, rushed to heal them.

Though their wounds vanished, their drained energy did not recover.

The team sat there, blankly staring at the ground.

Eunsae walked over.

“Guys, are you okay?”

Mirinae suddenly grabbed Eunsae and pulled her aside.

Her eyes were filled with worry.

“Eunsae, think this through again.”

“Huh?”

“You saw it yourself. That man—no, that being—he’s a monster. Can you really stay with him alone?”

Eunsae blinked.

Then, smiled.

Holding the baby with one arm, she gently patted Mirinae’s back.

“It’s okay. He’s not like that.”

“But—”

“He’s the father of this sweet, gentle baby. We’ve lived together just fine so far, and I’m sure it’ll be okay moving forward too.”

Eunsae winked playfully.

“If not, I’ll just bribe him with delicious food every day.”

Mirinae let out a dry laugh.

The tension drained from her shoulders.

“You really need to stop trusting people so easily.”

“I don’t trust just anyone.”

Eunsae’s completely unconvincing response was something even her three-year-old monster, Hwangsae, wouldn’t believe.

With a sigh, Mirinae turned away to tend to the others.

Meanwhile, Belquior dusted off his clothes.

Eunsae walked up to him.

“Thank you for humoring my friends’ reckless request.”

“Forget it.”

His golden eyes lingered on her.

“I don’t need food. Just… sing for me sometimes.”

“Huh? Sing? Oh… You overheard what Mirinae and I said?”

Eunsae scratched her cheek awkwardly.

Belquior didn’t reply.

He simply turned and headed back to the house.

BANG!

The office shook as objects on the desk went flying.

Baek Chan min, unable to contain his rising fury, stomped violently on the fallen items.

The gentle, noble image of the “White Lion” was nowhere to be seen.

Deputy Guild Master Yuk Jae hee stood behind him, hands clasped behind his back, silently observing.

“Namgoong Sol… Namgoong Sol! NAMGOONG SOL!”

Baek Chan min shouted her name like a curse.

After the humiliating brawl in the ranking tournament, where he suffered a crushing defeat at Sol’s hands, his pride had been shattered beyond repair.

Yuk Jae hee was still competing in the tournament, but with Baek Chan min, the guild master, already eliminated, Gold Star’s loss was practically sealed.

A heavy cloud of defeat loomed over the guild.

Baek Chan min muttered through gritted teeth,

“Damn Dochun… I should tear them apart.”

The hard crunch of candy breaking between his teeth echoed in the tense silence.

Finally, Yuk Jae hee hesitantly spoke.

“…I have something to report.”

“What is it?”

“Someone has once again flooded the market with a massive supply of high-grade mana stones.”

“NOTHING is going right! F***k!”

Baek Chan min kicked the desk.

This time, it broke.

Running a frustrated hand through his hair, he snarled,

“Who the hell is doing this…? Dochun?”

“Unlikely. Even Dochun seems caught off guard.”

“Are you sure about that?”

“Yes.”

The market was where dungeon materials and items were traded.

Every major guild had business ventures tied to it, making it a crucial source of power.

Gold Star had long been manipulating the market to gain an upper hand against Dochun—especially by controlling the supply of mana stones, inflating prices, and reaping absurd profits.

They had invested heavily in lobbying the Hunter Association to ensure their control.

But recently, someone had begun flooding the market with mana stones, crashing the prices.

For Gold Star, it meant financial losses.

“Are we tracking them?”

“We are, but whoever it is… they’re incredibly thorough. It’s almost like they anticipate our every move.”

“An inside job?”

“We’re already monitoring potential suspects.”

Baek Chan min snapped.

“You’re telling me that in this tiny country, you STILL can’t find one damn mana stone supplier?! Yuk Jae hee, is this the best you can do?!”

“…I apologize.”

Yuk Jae hee bowed low.

Right now, Baek Chan min was beyond livid.

The only option was to lie low and endure his wrath.

Baek Chan min clenched his teeth.

“Dochun… those f*king bastards ruined everything.”

Gold Star’s primary backer, Geumseong Group.

Just as Dochun and Gold Star were rivals, so were Dochun Group and Geumseong Group— locked in a brutal battle for control over the Hunter industry.

And the CEO of Geumseong Group was breathing down Baek Chan min’s neck, demanding he crush Han Woori.

The pressure was driving him insane.

Then, as if suddenly remembering something, he lifted his head.

“Yoo Eunsae. What’s she been up to lately?”

“Well… she barely leaves her residence.”

“Why?”

“Unknown.”

Baek Chan min stroked his jaw.

Something smelled off.

A suspicious scent.

“Buy off some journalists. Have them investigate every single detail of Yoo Eunsae’s life.”

“But her monsters make it difficult to approach her…”

Baek Chan min smirked cruelly.

“One shot is all it takes. If Yoo Eunsae falls, Dochun falls with her. If there’s no dirt on her, make some. Isn’t that what they do best?”

Yuk Jae hee knew there was only one answer he could give.

“Understood.”
