My Tamed Beast Returned with a Dragon Chapter 36 - I’ll Make It So No One Can Argue With You

We and our friends were dumbfounded.

We were at a loss for words after receiving a video call from Eunsae. Rather than responding, we hurriedly called Mirinae.

Mirinae was summoned to the guild leader’s office, and Sol followed, wondering what was going on. With Sol on the move, Yuha and Inchan also ended up visiting the office.

And through the phone screen, we saw a baby beast squirming and moving. Sol pointed at the screen with a trembling hand.

“…Am I seeing this right?”

“Yeah. Probably.”

“That’s Chuntian de Yaoqing?!”

“Keep it down, you idiot!”

“Mmph, mmph!”

Yuha clamped Sol’s mouth shut. Even though the room was soundproofed, you could never be too careful—especially with something that could stir up an international dispute.

We muttered in disbelief.

“Eunsae again…”

— Isn’t our Bomi so cute?

“Bomi? That’s the name? Sure, it suits them but… how are you so carefree?”

— Huh? Is there a reason to be serious? Bomi was born healthy and gets along well with Byeol. I’ve got a photo of them together—want to see?

Eunsae tapped at her phone. Then, our phones all started buzzing simultaneously with alerts.

Just seeing Bomi, with their swaying pink tail, tangled up playing with the baby dragon, filled us with warmth.

Mirinae wore a complex expression.

“I had a feeling when I heard the egg came from the Spring Tower Dungeon… but it really was Chuntian de Yaoqing.”

“Wow, China’s gonna be so salty.”

Yuha snickered. Sol joined in, clutching his stomach laughing.

Even though it was considered a symbol of China, no Chinese Hunter had ever tamed Chuntian de Yaoqing. Yet a Korean monster tamer—Eunsae—had done it.

This was an international incident. Once it got out, fans around the world would likely argue whether Chuntian de Yaoqing was still China’s symbol or now Eunsae’s.

Putting aside how complicated that could get, we asked the thing we were most curious about:

“How did you hatch it? Even China couldn’t.”

— Oh, Belquior gave me some advice. He said the egg had fallen into a deep sleep because it wasn’t in the right environment. He told me to place it near the World Tree, where life energy is abundant, and it would hatch.

“So… a dungeon? If China had placed the egg in the right dungeon, maybe they could’ve hatched it too.”

— And I crushed a jewel and let it absorb it, but I’m not really sure what that did.

“Huh. Anyway, congrats. That’s a huge achievement.”

— Thanks!

“Congrats, Yoo Eunsae~”

“Eunsae, bring Bomi and Byeol to visit the guild sometime!”

— Okay!

Eunsae giggled brightly. When the congratulations settled down, Mirinae laced her fingers into a spire.

“Now then… let’s talk about what we’re going to do with Bomi.”

Eunsae’s expression turned serious beyond the screen. Her friends gathered their thoughts too.

We spoke.

“First of all, shouldn’t we keep this a secret?”

“Why?”

“Eunsae’s already gotten too much attention because of the ‘dragon.’ And now Chuntian de Yaoqing? She’ll be targeted not just by China, but the whole world.”

“You think she’ll get kidnapped or threatened again?”

“Ugh, I’m getting flashbacks to when we had to tear across the globe looking for missing Yoo Eunsae.”

“My feet almost wore off back then.”

“You’re exaggerating.”

We joked now, but back then, it had been serious. Eunsae even voluntarily had a tracker implanted.

And yet, she once disappeared after saying she was just going to the bathroom—and turned up two weeks later on the other side of the world.

The worst was the Middle Eastern countries. Relations with them were still bad.

We said with concern:

“Whatever the decision, Eunsae, you should come to the guild and get your tracker back on.”

— I guess I have no choice.

Eunsae agreed without fuss. Even if she was S-rank, if several hunters of the same rank attacked together, she wouldn’t stand a chance. She wasn’t the only S-rank in the world.

Mirinae, after a pause, spoke.

“China will probably try to fix this by making Eunsae emigrate, stealing Bomi, or… killing her.”

— …….

“That’d be the cleanest option.”

China would never give up a symbol like Chuntian de Yaoqing. It was a matter of national prestige.

The air around us turned sharp. It was a plausible and terrifying possibility—one that China had the power to carry out.

“I actually think we should do the opposite—we should publicize that Bomi is Eunsae’s beast.”

“Why? Wouldn’t that put her in more danger? The Korean government won’t like it either.”

The government hated noisy diplomatic entanglements. Even now, other countries were pressuring them over Byeol.

Mirinae ticked off points on her fingers.

“First, we need to shift attention away from the ‘dragon.’”

Byeol drew too much attention as Eunsae’s beast—especially because he could use magic.

One of the most frequently asked questions at the guild was which dungeon he came from.

Was it Korea? Another country? If it was foreign, wouldn’t ownership have to be determined?

If it was Korean, was Dochun Guild monopolizing dragons?

We had no definitive answers about Byeol, who clearly didn’t belong to this world.

So Mirinae’s idea was to divert interest with Bomi.

“Second, we need to use public opinion.”

Even if Chuntian de Yaoqing was a Chinese symbol, Eunsae and Dochun Guild had justification.

A signed, notarized document of the egg’s transfer. We had to use that and assert that Bomi was without question Eunsae’s beast.

Even if China tried something sneaky, they’d be globally criticized.

“Third, we have him. Lord Belquior.”

That was right. Mirinae’s entire plan counted on Belquior.

He’d already saved Eunsae once. It was hard to imagine he’d let her get hurt.

Plus, call it woman’s intuition—Mirinae was pretty sure Belquior had some kind of interest in Eunsae. Affection? Curiosity?

Eunsae herself didn’t seem to notice, but Mirinae figured it was only a matter of time.

“You’ve already thought that far? That’s our vice-guild leader. Dochun’s brain.”

“The guild leader just sits there doing nothing. Boo, resign~”

“Resign! Resign!”

“Namgoong Sol and Kim Yuha, zip it!”

We snapped, and our friends chuckled.

— Sounds like a good plan.

Eunsae finally spoke up, having quietly listened all this time. We were still unsure.

“But Eunsae, if there’s an easier path, do you have to take the harder one?”

“Since when have we ever taken the easy way?”

Sol’s reply was met with confident looks from all of Dochun Guild’s S-ranks.

— Pfft, you’re right. And we always win. Besides, the curse is gone—I’m not afraid anymore.

“Yoo Eunsae is so cool~ The best~”

“Gasp, Yoo Eunsae saying something like that? I feel old, seriously.”

— What do you mean, ‘feel old’…

The heavy mood lightened. We rubbed our foreheads.

“Alright, alright. Just don’t go charging in yet. Stay put for now, Eunsae. This is about your safety—we’ll talk with Mirinae and prepare the grandest stage.”

— Stage?

Now that the decision was made, we, ever quick to accept, wore mischievous, scheming expressions.

“We’ll make sure no one—no one—can argue that Bomi is your beast.”

Birds of a feather. Thick as thieves. Like attracts like.

Han Woori was a member of the Dochun crew, after all.

“…So that’s what happened, Lord Belquior.”

Eunsae relayed the conversation she had with us earlier that day to Belquior.

She explained how revealing Bom to the world could put her in danger, how China might try to pull something sneaky, and how it could even drag her into unnecessary international conflict.

Belquior clicked his tongue.

“Do you really need to go that far for a baby beast?”

To him, it seemed strange that humans would risk everything over a single monster.

“But I’ve already learned that avoiding things doesn’t always work out.”

Eunsae gave a wry smile. It reminded her of when she first awakened as the world’s first monster tamer.

Back then, hunters in Korea weren’t exactly treated well. The government kept a tight grip on them, and regulations were strict.

Eunsae, wanting to avoid trouble, tried to stay patient and solve things peacefully.

And then everyone—literally anyone and everyone—tried to push her around. The government acted like they owned her, and cocky hunters treated her like she was weak.

Eventually, her patience hit its limit, and when she finally snapped, it was chaos. A bloodbath, really.

That was one of the reasons she rose to third place in Korea’s hunter rankings. And that incident also solidified her place as one of the most influential hunters in the country.

Teaming up with us, the heirs of the Dochun Group, Eunsae helped dismantle or ease most of the regulations on hunters in Korea.

That’s why even though we joked she’d get eaten alive if she stepped out into the world, we never actually thought she was naive.

Being gentle and being gullible are two very different things.

Once Eunsae sets her mind to something, she doesn’t let up until the other side is begging for mercy. She’s done it before, especially when foreign powers tried shady moves.

Beep!

“Bom? What’s wrong?”

At Bomi’s urgent little cry, Eunsae rushed over. In the living room, she found Byeol and Bom facing off.

Her other monsters were circling the two nervously. When Eunsae saw Byeol’s tiny eyebrows furrowed in a pout, she asked,

“Byeol, why are you upset?”

“Nuna, she drank my milk!”

Beep beep?

Bomi tilted her head. She didn’t seem to understand why Byeol was angry.

Byeol was fuming. He’d been excited to have a new friend, but just like most baby monsters, Bomi acted on pure instinct.

There was zero communication happening. As she watched Byeol growing more and more frustrated, Eunsae tried not to laugh.

“I see. You’re mad because Bom drank your milk.”

“Yeees.”

Eunsae scooped up Byeol and gave him a big comforting hug. Just like that, his mood softened.
