Correction Chapter 67

Author: nicotine

Before summer, Park Sungjin, who had been assigned to the hospital for just over a month, called Jungmin aside.

“My heat cycle is coming soon.”

She said to Jungmin with a meaningful smile. He knew what she meant. It was a suggestion to test their physical compatibility before marriage. One thing he had learned about Park Sungjin over the past month was that she was a more calculating person than he had thought.

Within a week of arriving at the hospital, she had already sorted out who would be beneficial to her and who would not. The difference in her attitude towards them was stark. She didn’t unconditionally respect someone just because they were a senior, nor did she unconditionally look down on someone for being a junior. In a way, you could call it fair, but to Jungmin, she was a calculating person. And she absolutely never did anything that could harm her. If she sensed a difficult situation coming her way, she would skillfully slip away.

He thought it was typical for the child of a large corporation, but to the average person, she was a foxy character. That was why Park Sungjin’s reputation wasn’t very good. The problem was that she herself didn’t care about her own reputation.

“I’ll be living with you for the rest of my life, Jungmin. So I figured we should at least try it once. Ah, but no matter how much I like you, I’ll only imprint after we’re married. Oh, right. I don’t want to knot even after we’re married. I don’t like pain, and I don’t want to get pregnant. I still love my job too much. Is that okay with you?”

“Yes. I understand. We can discuss the issue of children later. I don’t particularly want them either.”

“It’s nice that we’re on the same page. I’ll book a hotel and let you know. I hope you’re in rut too, Jungmin. I think it would be good to check to what extent we can handle each other… and if not, it would be better to end things quickly.”

And to be honest, Jungmin didn’t dislike Sungjin’s personality. If it was going to be a loveless marriage anyway, being calculating was better. A marriage where both sides weigh their options, take what they can get, and compromise on what they must… a marriage formed on such fair grounds would last much longer and be stronger than one based on love.

“Oh my, did you two have a date?”

After finishing his conversation with Park Sungjin, Jungmin was returning to the ward when he saw his sister-in-law. And next to her….

“Jungmin sunbae.”

Kim Joohwan smiled and waved his hand.

Ha, why is this guy here again? And I’m not happy to see him at all, so why is he waving like he’s happy to see me? I don’t get it.

“I wonder when you’ll finally smile when you see me, sunbae.”

Goosebumps rose on Jungmin’s skin at Kim Joohwan’s words. Did you really think there’d ever be a reason for me to smile at you? He was about to say that but, realizing Park Sungjin and his sister-in-law were next to him, he forced himself to be polite.

“It’s been a while.”

“A forced smile.”

Kim Joohwan said with a sneer as he shook Jungmin’s hand.

“I was going to have a discussion about establishing a research institute with Karl Front today, and Director Kim was kind enough to come in person.”

“Ah, yes.”

Come to think of it, after successfully signing the partnership contract with his older brother, he had heard the hospital would also be receiving help from Karl Front. Karl Front. One way or another, he had heard that globally, not only as a pharmaceutical company, but also in terms of medical equipment performance, they were so vastly superior to any other company that hospitals were lining up, willing to spend tens of billions to acquire their devices.

He’d heard that beating out numerous competitors, the Shinsung Group’s hospital had secured a deal to be supplied with Karl Front’s medical equipment, and as a condition, a joint research institute would be established. Honestly, for the company and the hospital, it was a boon, so there was no reason to refuse. Thanks to that, his sister-in-law also seemed happy, so Jungmin figured it was for the best.

“And who might this be?”

Kim Joohwan showed interest in Park Sungjin, who was standing next to Jungmin.

“Hello. My name is Park Sungjin.”

“Ah, sunbae’s….”

Kim Joohwan glanced at Jungmin before shaking Park Sungjin’s hand.

“Hello. My name is Kim Joohwan.”

“I’ve heard a lot about you. I heard you’re an incredible person, so it’s an honor to meet you like this.”

Park Sungjin’s eyes sparkled. Well, it was understandable. It had been a very long time since Jungmin had stopped feeling defeated by Kim Joohwan, so he was more than happy to enjoy this predictable reaction. In fact, he would have been more surprised if her reaction had been any different.

“I heard you’re from Heonjae Mulsan, is that correct?”

“Ah, yes. That’s right.”

“I see.”

Kim Joohwan stared intently at Park Sungjin. Jungmin felt a strange sense of foreboding, but he dismissed the thought, thinking, ‘No way, would he really?’

“I should get going now.”

“Why? Stay and talk a little longer.”

“I’d like to talk more with you too, sunbae, but you don’t seem to welcome it… and I have another appointment.”

“Well, I can’t help that then.”

His sister-in-law said with disappointment, but for Jungmin, it was a relief. He wished Kim Joohwan would leave as soon as possible. Otherwise, he felt like his lunch would sit in his stomach like a rock.

“Let’s have a meal together again soon, sunbae.”

No, that will absolutely never happen.

“Sure.”

Jungmin forced another smile and nodded. As if finding this sight thoroughly amusing, Kim Joohwan left with a huge grin on his face. Thankfully, he would be spared the indigestion.

“You seem to be close with Mr. Kim Joohwan?”

Just as Jungmin was feeling relieved, Park Sungjin asked.

“He’s a junior from the same university. We are not close.”

“I see.”

He quickly drew the line, lest he be put in the same category as him. And when he returned to his office, there was a text message from Kim Joohwan.

Your fiancée is pretty, sunbae. Good luck with her.

“Hello, Ms. Park Sungjin.”

Park Sungjin was startled. A well-dressed man had come to her house with her father.

“Sungjin. Say hello. This is Director Kim Joohwan from Karl Front. I ran into him by chance today, and I was so happy to see him that I invited him to our home, and he graciously accepted. Hahaha.”

“Thank you for having me.”

Her father, who was usually as fearsome as a tiger, brought the man in, smiling cheerfully. The man gave a light greeting and had dinner with the family. And throughout the conversation and tea time that followed, the alpha… looked only at the omega, Park Sungjin.

“We met at the hospital, didn’t we?”

“Ah, yes.”

Kim Joohwan took a step closer.

“I thought this back then, too, Ms. Park Sungjin.”

And then Park Sungjin’s back hit the wall. Her body trembled finely as she felt the scent of a dominant alpha wrap around her. The thought that she shouldn’t do this never crossed her mind. From the moment she first saw this man, she had predicted something like this would happen.

“Your scent is nice.”

The man pressed his body against hers, urging her to open up with his alpha pheromones. As if by instinct, she released her omega pheromones and parted her lips. It was a sweet temptation.

As he always thought… Shin Jungmin had truly awful taste. No matter how many times he tried the things he’d had, not once did they taste good.

It had been a few years, so he wondered if it had gotten any better… but the omega crying underneath him still tasted spoiled. As ill-luck would have it, their heat cycles overlapped, and her potent heat pheromones enveloped his body, causing Kim Joohwan to continuously furrow his brow as he moved his hips.

“Inside, cum inside me.”

Park Sungjin grabbed his hips to keep Kim Joohwan from pulling out. As he thrust harder, Kim Joohwan glanced at Park Sungjin, who was trembling as she climaxed, and laughed as if in disbelief before pulling out his penis. The hole, stretched from the large member that had gone in and out, remained gaping open. Though her own fluids trickled out from within, none of Kim Joohwan’s did. He came inside a condom, tied it up, threw it in the trash can, and got up from the bed.

“Mr. Joohwan.”

Park Sungjin clung to Kim Joohwan. Since when did she call him Mr. Joohwan? After meeting him for the second time today and meekly following him to a hotel.

“Yes, Ms. Sungjin.”

Kim Joohwan smiled at Park Sungjin and called her name affectionately. But none of his actions had any connection to her.

“Won’t you marry me?”

“Hmm, from what I understand, you’re supposed to marry my sunbae, Shin Jungmin.”

“No. Nothing has been confirmed.”

Park Sungjin hesitantly got up and sat on the bed. Her naked, spread-eagled posture was a blatant invitation to an alpha.

“Why? You don’t like sunbae? Shin Jungmin sunbae is a good person, though.”

“That’s right. He is a good person. Kind… and capable, too. But I think Mr. Kim Joohwan is a better match for me. My family will be of help to you as well, Mr. Joohwan. I can also bear many children, and I’ll quit the hospital if you want. So let’s get married.”

“Haha.”

Kim Joohwan let out a hearty laugh. Then he got off the bed and looked down at Park Sungjin. His eyes were so frigid and cold that Park Sungjin couldn’t say a word.

“Right. I’m glad you’re being so honest about your desires. I will praise you for not badmouthing my sunbae. I think I would have gotten a little angry otherwise. And I’m sorry, but I’m not interested in whores. My child? I want to sow my seed in a hole that only I know… but that’s not you, is it? You’ve already been passed around everywhere.”

“Wh-what.”

“I want to wash up, so please leave now. And you’d do well to end things with my sunbae on your own. Unless you want to see Heonjae Mulsan disappear.”

Kim Joohwan waved his hand and went into the bathroom. He could feel Park Sungjin screaming and throwing a fit in the bedroom, but he paid it no mind. He turned on the shower, letting the clean water cascade over him from head to toe, and closed his eyes. There is no need for useless impurities on this stage.
