They walked down the virgin road, wearing rings, and rode in a carriage amidst the blessings of countless people, revealing their new couple to the beastmen of the wolf territory.

The Yeckhart beastmen sprinkled pollen, blessing the couple’s marriage.

Everyone’s faces were full of smiles.

It was a wedding filled with blessings.

After that, everything progressed quickly.

After the wedding, Linsy officially became the Lady of the Yeckhart household.

Since Kendrick had no wife, it was only natural for Linsy, as the wife of the young master Arsene, to become the Lady of the house.

“Arsene, come here!”

I opened my arms wide.

Arsene came up to me, hugged me tightly, and rested his face against my chest.

“Now you can hold me as much as you want.”

“Ethan won’t come in through the door and scold me anymore, right?”

“Mhm, it’s all over now!”

“My heart feels strange. Linsy, when I think about how you’ve really become my partner…”

“Yeah, I’ve been your partner for a very long time already…”

“Now we’re officially married.”

“That’s right.”

I wrapped my arms tightly around Arsene’s neck and fell onto the bed with him.

“Arsene Yeckhart, is there a bird clan member you like?”

“There is a bird clan member I loved with all my heart.”

“Hmm, will you spend the rest of your life with her?”

“If she’s not there, then I don’t exist either.”

Even though it was a sudden joke, Arsene didn’t get flustered and played along.

“At first, I really was thinking of getting a divorce.”

“Not anymore.”

“I don’t even want to do that anymore.”

Arsene’s hair was soft and fluffy, and it felt nice.

Every time he moved in my arms, his soft hair tickled my cheek.

“I want to see your beast form—can you show me?”

The last time I saw Arsene in his wolf form was almost five years ago.

I wonder if Arsene’s beast form has changed in the meantime.

Or perhaps, just as Arsene hasn’t changed, that form hasn’t changed either?

After a brief moment of hesitation, Arsene looked down at me.

And not long after.

Pop—!

And not long after, with familiar sounds and motions, Arsene’s form began to change.

A massive silver wolf rested its head in my arms, then suddenly lifted it in surprise.

“Did you move it because you thought it was too heavy?”

Arsene nodded.

I gently stroked Arsene’s brow as I looked at his transformed beast form.

“Is it a bit bigger than back then?”

It seems like his fur has grown a little more.

Wolves usually have short, stiff fur, but Kendrick and Arsene’s fur was slightly longer than that.

Because of that, their already large frames appeared even bigger.

Arsene didn’t reply, but nudged his large head into my hand and wagged his tail.

As his massive tail swished from side to side, the wind it created made the blanket flutter.

That tail is ridiculously strong.

Is that to be expected given its size?

Every time I stroked him, Arsene’s ears flattened against his head.

His snout kept opening, as if he were feeling pleased.

I showered Arsene with gentle strokes.

“Do you remember? The first time you shouted at me to leave?”

At my words, the wolf glared at me with an expression that seemed to say, ‘Why are you talking about that now?’

“Back then, you were really a prickly and sensitive little one!”

But now, he is no different from a gentle puppy.

Who would think that the Arsene from back then and this Arsene are the same beast?

Thinking that the once hurtful, sensitive, and prickly boy had grown up like this filled me with pride and overwhelming emotion.

Arsene received gentle strokes for a long while, wagging his tail.

Meanwhile,

“Huh? Huh? Huh? Arsene!”

Arsene’s huge body fell under the bed.

I was startled and quickly got up, looking under the bed.

“Arsene?”

There, Arsene lay in his human form, running his hands through his hair.

“I think the bed is a bit narrow as expected.”

“It’s not that the bed is small—it’s that you’re big. The other wolf beastmen aren’t as big as you.”

“You don’t like big things?”

“It’s nice to be able to hug your head.”

When I answered right away, Arsene smiled brightly again and came up to the bed.

“You know, Linsy.”

Arsene gently took hold of my hand.

Not with a large, warm, and fluffy wolf’s paw, but with a nicely muscled hand.

“I’ve been waiting for you for a really long time.”

“Mhm.”

“So now, I have no intention of letting you go. No divorce, no separation. If you ever get tired of seeing me, I’ll allow you to stay at the villa for a day or so. But that’s it.”

Arsene’s ability flowed out of his hands.

An ability of shadows—one that seeps in anywhere and binds its target tight.

Arsene’s power.

The power seeped into my wrist, wrapping around it like a circular bracelet.

“Because no matter where you are, I’ll be able to find you… so don’t even think about running away.”

“Are you an idiot? Why would I even run away?”

I hugged Arsene tightly.

Then I glanced at the shadowy power that had seeped into my wrist.

Arsene is an idiot.

He made it sound like he put a bracelet on me with his ability just so he could track me down wherever I went.

‘But in truth, he probably used his ability to protect me.’

I felt that feeling.

I could feel the sincerity behind Arsen’s decision to use his ability on me—the emotions that had driven him to do so.

I held Arsene tightly in my arms and whispered into the ear of my anxious mate.

“Just like I promised before, I won’t go anywhere. Even if we fight, I’ll still sleep next to you.”

Hoping that my whisper would give him some sense of reassurance.

“So Arsene, kiss me quickly.”

“…!”

“We are a married couple now.”

Before I even finished speaking, Arsene’s lips pressed against mine.

Even though we had kissed countless times, my heart still raced every time Arsene’s lips met mine.

And it seemed like it would continue to do so from now on.

“Young Madam!”

The maids brought out sweet desserts and fragrant tea one after another, smiling brightly.

I was sitting on the terrace, and seeing that, I smiled softly.

“Did you bring it?”

“Yes, everything!”

“I brought everything you like!”

“Okay, then let’s drink together.”

When I pointed to the empty chair in front of me, the maids hesitated, nervously glancing around.

And in a very soft voice, I spoke.

“But for the Young Madam and us to sit in the same chair for tea time…”

“So what? Let’s drink together!”

“Why shouldn’t I have a cup of tea with the maids who’ve taken care of me all this time?”

“Anyway, right now neither Arsene nor Sir Kendrick are in the mansion, so if you don’t drink with me, I’ll have to drink alone.”

Only then did they carefully sit down in front of me.

“Look at this, it looks really delicious. Right!”

I pointed out sweet desserts and suggested dessert.

“Hurry up and try it, and tell me how delicious it is. I recently discovered this dessert shop, you know.”

And not long ago, Arsene had stopped by that place and bought everything.

I cut a small piece of the strawberry cake that was nearby with a fork and put it in my mouth.

The sweet flavor melted on my tongue—it was truly exquisite.

Furthermore.

‘Thinking that Arsene bought it for me makes it taste even better.’

As I ate the cake, I lifted my head and looked out at the Yeckhart garden.

On one side, the gardeners were trimming the garden trees, and

I also saw young maids carrying wet laundry, giggling as they passed along the path beside the garden.

Each and every one of those little things was a precious moment, a cherished memory.

Things that aren’t taken for granted.

Peaceful days are never something to be taken for granted.

‘So, I should live every day with gratitude…’

Hoping that tomorrow, the day after, and the days beyond will be just as peaceful.

Hoping I could enjoy the desserts Arsene brings me and share a cup of tea with the people who care about me.

I took another bite of the sweet dessert with a satisfied nibble.

Lately, I’ve been craving sweet things more and more.

‘No, did I originally like it?’

Anyway,

Peace was as precious and sweet as a dessert.

Yeckhart was at peace.

And it seemed like no one could ever shatter that peace.

I liked it so much that I wanted to sit here for days, watching over the Yeckhart estate.

As much as I hadn’t seen it in the past five years.
