I’m Trying to End This Possession Chapter 93
“The carriage attack. Wasn’t it something Lord Ignis staged yourself?”
At that moment, Ignis’s face froze. His expression made it clear that he had never imagined she might have known.
Dana found it amusing. Honestly, every last one of those b*stards must be thinking of me as a fool. Well, it was working in my favor now.
“Isn’t it a little funny for you to act like you’re the one who’s been hurt when we’ve both been deceiving each other?”
“Hurt my ass. F*ck…” Ignis’s lips twisted as he let out a derisive laugh. “I’m pissed off because I got deceived by a b*tch like you.”
“Would it make you feel a little better if I apologized for deceiving you?” Dana smiled sympathetically, as though she felt sorry for him. “But Lord Ignis, shouldn’t you have a better understanding of your place? Isn’t it even funnier that you thought I might actually like you?”
With every word she spat out, Ignis’s grip on her hair tightened. But Dana didn’t stop. In fact, she needed to provoke him even more.
“You were the one who threatened me with the scripture and proposed marriage first, Lord Ignis. I don’t want to live with someone as vile as you. Do you think I’m crazy enough to live with a horny b*stard like you?”
This was a very personal and emotional statement. But Dana couldn’t help it. Right now, she was in an extremely bad mood. After deceiving me, what the hell was that expression?
The embrace in the carriage, where he had held her tightly against him. She almost believed it was genuine. But Ignis was just another Carl Windsor. Someone who pretended to cherish her while concealing his filthy ulterior motives. Such a piece of trash.
“Rather than chase after you as you wish, Lord Ignis…” Dana glanced at the scripture in his hands. “I decided it would be better to endure this hellish ordeal and take possession of the scripture.”
“…”
“Isn’t this self-defense?”
At that moment, Ignis burst out laughing. “Listen to that mouth of yours. You’re not an ordinary b*tch.”
“I told you. I have a lot going inside my head too.”
“Yeah, yeah. This is much better actually. I prefer this.” Ignis grabbed her hair even more roughly. The pain tore a short scream from Dana’s lips. “So? What do you think I’m going to do now?”
Tap, tap, Ignis tapped her cheek with the scripture. “Looks like you were planning to run away with this. Too bad I woke up early and ruined your little plan.”
At that, Dana smiled, though her brows furrowed. “What is this?”
“…What?”
“This isn’t the scripture, though.”
“…”
What is she talking about? Ignis stared at Dana’s face with a stiffening expression, before hurriedly opening the scripture to check.
“…”
And then he saw it. Blank page. The scripture had been wiped completely clean, without a single letter remaining. He turned to the next page. It was blank as well. The same went for the next page and the page after that. Unable to contain his frustration, he flipped through them all at once.
“Ha!”
Every single page was empty. Not even a single letter remained. Only a few smudged ink stains were left here and there.
“What did you do?”
“Does it matter what I did?” Dana calmly replied as she smoothed her disheveled hair. Then she rose to her feet. “They say the original scripture was written in God’s blood, the holy blood. Therefore, not a single letter would fade, even after thousands of years. And that it would be passed down to future generations forever.” This was also written in the copies of the scripture.
Seeing the dazed look on Ignis’s face, Dana kindly explained. “Whatever I did, if this were the scripture written in holy blood, it wouldn’t have been erased.”
“…”
“Unless it was made with ink by humans.”
Thud. The scripture finally dripped from Ignis’s hand. His face had gone still. Not a trace of emotion left in it.
“Right. This is fake. You’re right. Getting caught like this is embarrassing.” He muttered emotionlessly, like a machine.
“…!”
Dana’s body was suddenly lifted up. Ignis had lifted her up and slung her over his shoulder like a sack!
“What are you doing? Put me down!”
“Shut up.”
Smack! He smacked her butt, making Dana tremble with humiliation.
This guy is unbelievable!
“So what if the scripture is fake? Did you think I’d go, ‘Oh, I’m so sorry. I’m a fraud,’ and leave?” Ignis strode toward the window without any hesitation.
“Ignis! Put me down!”
But Ignis showed not the slightest hesitation, as if he had truly made up his mind to take her and run away. It was just as he headed toward the window. Bang! Something flew like an arrow, narrowly grazing his eyes before slamming straight into the pillar beside him.
“…”
It was a cane. The gentleman’s cane, which had cracked the wall and embedded itself, trembled violently, unable to withstand the impact.
Ignis slowly turned his head.
“Put her down.”
Standing by the door, Viego spoke quietly. He wore the exact same expression and tone he had used not long ago in the meeting room, when he had ordered Ignis to put his legs down.
“Put her down.”
“…”
But this time, things were different. Ignis didn’t put Dana down.
Instead of repeating himself, Viego clicked his silver gun and aimed. He spoke calmly, as if fulfilling his duty. “If you don’t put her down, I will open fire.”
“…”
Ignis knew. That guy would hit exactly where he aimed. But still… He continued walking toward the window. Immediately, bang! A bullet lodged itself in his shoulder. “F*ck, that hurts like hell.” He kept walking as he said so. This time, a bullet struck his forearm. Bang! Blood splattered. That must hurt.
“Are you insane?!”
When Dana shouted, Ignis let out a laugh. Is that it? Am I insane? His head had been burning hot for a while now, and he could barely think straight. Even the bullets lodged in his shoulder and forearm felt like someone else’s problem.
Meanwhile, Viego assessed his opponent’s condition with precision. Ignis de Windsor had lost his ability to make sound judgments. He had lost his reason completely. Utterly consumed by the single-minded determination to abduct Dana, he wasn’t even trying to dodge the bullets.
But Viego was different. He had absolutely no intention of killing a man who had once been his uncle, not in his own home and with his own hands. Not in the slightest. Bang, bang! So he aimed for more effective targets, which were his ankles, specifically the Achilles tendons.
At last, Ignis collapsed.
“Seize him.”
Viego gave a slight nod, and the guards standing behind him rushed forward. They pinned down the blood-covered man and bound him.
“Please don’t resist, Lord Ignis!”
“We’ll tie your arms!”
Ignis no longer resisted. With his cheek pressed against the floor, he simply glared at Dana with blazing eyes. The sight was so chilling that Dana instinctively took a step back.
As the guards forcibly hauled him to his feet, Ignis gave a faint laugh. “Dana.” Then he fixed her with a gaze boiling over with hatred. “This isn’t over. Darling, you know that, right? We agreed to run away together.” He chuckled as he spoke. “So just wait quietly, you f*cking b*tch. Don’t go cheating on me, got it?”
Crazy… This man even makes threats in a way that sends chills down your spine. Without needing to pretend, Dan let her trembling voice slip out. “Please don’t do this. I’m scared.”
At that, Ignis burst into laughter, as if he found her utterly repulsive. “Hahahaha! Hey, Viego! Your sister has grown up a lot, right?” Dragged away by the guards, he shouted.
Viego completely ignored him and approached the wall to retrieve his gentleman’s cane. He tried to pull it straight out, but…
“Ah, I’ve already checked just how much she’s grown! On the bed!”
For a moment, Viego’s movements stopped.
“Man, she was amazing! Right? I’m telling you, she was the best woman I’ve ever slept with!”
