The Prince Seduces Me with His Body Chapter 137
Swish-! A purple line sliced through the mutated monster that was lunging at Mizel, cutting it in two.
Diana, her face hidden beneath a hood and mask, reprimanded in a low voice. “Mizel, you need to be more careful. Why were you just standing there?”
“…I noticed it charging, but my body wouldn’t react.”
“Sometimes, monsters make it all the way to the rear. You have to stay alert.”
“I understand. Thank you for helping me.” Mizel bowed her head in gratitude and retreated quietly. Since she couldn’t control spirits, her role was to support the knights from the rear. But occasionally, some of the mutated monsters that the knights couldn’t handle would attack the rear, as had just happened.
Even so, their numbers have decreased significantly compared to the beginning. At this rate… while some are distracting the monsters, we should be able to breach the mansion walls.
It was now the fifth day of their standoff with Duke Findlay. When they first arrived, the sheer number of mutated monsters had made it impossible to distinguish them from the surrounding vegetation. Many of these creatures were types they had never seen before.
Whenever the elementalist tried to fly toward the mansion walls, flying mutated monsters would latch onto them persistently. And when the knights on the ground tried to deal with the flying creatures, other monsters would burst from the ground to ambush them.
“Did they have another facility besides the lab we saw, where they kept all these mutated monsters?”
There were so many mutated monsters that it felt overwhelming. Each mutated monster was far stronger than a normal one. The only fortunate thing was that only a few of them could be harmed exclusively by dark-attribute spirits. If that had been the case, this battle would have lasted much longer.
After taking a drink from the water Mizel handed her, Diana turned back toward the battlefield. The end was near.
“Antar!” At the front of the battle, Kayden shouted.
Boom! A massive golden sword cleaved through the ground with a thunderous noise, sending the monsters scattering in fear. In that brief moment, a straight path to the castle wall opened up.
“Noes!”
Antar moved his power at the right moment. Thick vines sprouted from the ground, extending up the gap Kayden had created. The vines formed a slanted path leading to the top of the wall.
“Fourth order, advance! The rest, cover them!”
“Leave the fire arrows to Undine! Cover His Highness!” Duke Yelling shouted at the top of his lungs, and the knights roared in response, charging up the path of vines toward the wall.
Slash! Kiieeek! The sounds of monsters being cut down and their dying screams mingled in chaotic noise.
As Diana carefully sliced through the slimes she had seen before, she kept her eyes on Kayden’s back. It’s done.
Though Duke Findlay’s soldiers were resisting fiercely from atop the wall, it was no use. Ever since the duke’s crimes had been exposed, even those who weren’t personally guilty had been crushed by the contempt from all sides. Some fought desperately because the duke held leverage over them or because they were involved in his crimes, but most of them had long since lost the will to fight.
And no matter how formidable Duke Findlay was, the imperial knights boasted the largest number of elementalist. With nearly every knight order here, along with Diana and several elementalists from the Wings, the result was inevitable.
Breaking through the mass of monsters had taken time, but now that a path had opened, the end was in sight. The end is near. And when that time comes… I’ll have to make a choice.
Diana’s gaze unconsciously drifted away from Kayden and down toward Rebecca, who was fighting in a disheveled state below.
…What do I want to do?
Does she want to forgive her? Or does she want to personally serve Rebecca’s head, just as she did to her? Diana still hadn’t made up her mind. But once Duke Findlay was captured, the moment to choose would come, whether she liked it or not. After all, Rebecca had been complicit with the duke.
“…!”
Suddenly, as if sensing her gaze, Rebecca turned her head. Diana found herself locked in eye contact with her, unable to move. For a moment, everything seemed to freeze—her breath, time itself. In that instant, Rebecca’s eyes felt strangely familiar, just as they had before the time loop. Diana’s eyes widened in shock.
Was that an illusion?
For a brief moment, it felt like she had returned to the time before everything went wrong with Rebecca. But that couldn’t be. Rebecca had never shown any sign of remembering the previous timeline.
Diana was about to laugh at herself for her delusion when it happened…
Thump—
“…Huh?”
The ground trembled. Simultaneously, her heart sank as if anticipating something terrible.
“What is…?”
“The sun…”
It was midday, but suddenly, darkness fell around Duke Findlay’s mansion. In the distance, the sunlight still glistened off the leaves, but the area surrounding the mansion became shrouded in darkness as if cursed.
One by one, the knights stopped in their tracks, looking up. Kayden, too, halted just before the wall and raised his head. Immediately, the faces of the imperial knights and Duke Findlay’s knights turned pale.
“What… is that?”
At the central spire of the mansion, a massive, clawed foot—easily larger than a person—burst forth. As if responding to someone’s murmured question, the spire exploded.
Boom! Huge chunks of stone scattered like petals. Emerging from the thick dust was a creature that seemed to embody the very concept of despair.
Kayden muttered under his breath.
“…Demonic dragon.”
Demonic dragon, as described in the founding myth. Though Kayden had never seen it in person, he knew immediately. What else could that black creature be but a demonic dragon? Yet, born from the mutated monsters, this demonic dragon seemed even more malevolent than the demonic dragon from ancient times.
Kiiieeek! The demonic dragon, having broken out of the spire and clinging to the building, let out a long screech. The mere sound of its voice caused trees to splinter and collapse.
Diana, who had been frozen in shock, snapped back to her senses, clenching her teeth. Could it be… the egg from the lab?!
She recalled the giant egg she had seen in the underground lab. Before escaping, they had planned to destroy everything inside the lab, but when she encountered Rebecca, the plan had failed. She hadn’t been too concerned at the time since the egg didn’t seem large enough to pose a threat. But if that egg had given birth to this…
A cold chill ran down her spine. Diana gritted her teeth and sprinted toward Kayden. He was closest to the demonic dragon.
Kayden and the knights of the fourth order immediately launched an attack upon hearing the demonic dragon’s roar. But when the demonic dragon flapped its wings, their attacks were effortlessly deflected.
“Our attacks aren’t working!”
“Fall back! Fall back! Our weapons are useless!”
The knights realized that the demonic dragon couldn’t be harmed unless struck with a special kind of energy. They tried to retreat, but by then, they were already surrounded by monsters. As the knights realized their predicament, the demonic dragon kicked off the wall and leaped at them.
“Uaaarrgh!”
“Run!”
Perhaps because it was a mutant monster, the demonic dragon didn’t spread its wings. Instead, it rampaged with its massive body, tearing through everything in its path. The walls crumbled under its weight, and the vines supporting Kayden and the knights snapped with a groan. They plummeted toward the monster-infested ground.
“Milord!” Antar cried out in horror.
Just before Kayden and the knights could hit the ground, a cloud of black dust appeared, cushioning their fall. Ppiiik!
“…Thanks, Hillasa.”
Kayden groaned as he landed among countless Hillasa. But even as he caught his breath, he worried about Diana, who had summoned so many spirits.
As he got up and looked around, he spotted Diana, pale and collapsed on the ground, gasping for air. A mutated monster was rushing toward her. Kayden’s eyes widened in panic as he shouted. “Diana!”

This is so silly. All of this mess because Kayden let the Duke go. Honestly you’re not fit to be a leader if you can’t make a rational decision to save a lot of lives by sacrificing a single life in that moment
