Resurrection Chapter 81 - Not That One
Amidst the cold stares of his colleagues, he was able to endure because of Kim Yitae. From that point on, he had decided in his heart that if he ever took a partner, it would be Kim Yitae.
He was in a state where his partner position had been stolen by Seo Heesoo, and their relationship had grown awkward after he was hired to kill Seo Heesoo, but that didn’t mean he could just let a guy like Yaksha capture Kim Yitae. That was even more true if that bastard threatened Kim Yitae’s life.
He had thought that since Kim Yitae possessed Resurrection, there was no way he would actually be killed, but from what Min Gongchan said, it seemed that wasn’t the case. To think he even drank Royal Vampire Blood to protect Kim Yitae…
He understood that he was taking a risk since the opponent was Yaksha. But no matter how much of a regressor he was, his body was that of an ordinary person, and attempting a Trans into a Royal Vampire was the height of recklessness.
Even Awakeners couldn’t withstand it, so it was hard to believe that he, a mere ordinary person, would succeed. Yoon Younghyun thought that Min Gongchan would soon appear as a blood-sucking monster.
Since he drank the blood of a Royal Vampire, it would be a relief if he could even be killed. What if he becomes absurdly strong and a disaster occurs where he can’t be killed?
Just as tension began to creep in, a divine message arrived.
—Bedivere says that you will be safe only if you get rid of Min Gongchan before the Trans is over.
As soon as that divine message ended, another god’s message flew in.
—Slave says that if Min Gongchan succeeds in his Trans, he will become a more powerful asset than anyone, so you must wait.
—Bedivere warns that if you wait around blankly, a formidable monster will be born.
—Slave warns that doubting that man now is a cunning act that betrays faith, and you will surely come to regret it.
The one-armed swordsman, Bedivere, whom Yoon Younghyun had originally served as his main god, and the beast of the colosseum, Slave, whom he had newly begun to serve as his main god, were in a fierce war of words.
There was a certain validity to each of their claims, but in Bedivere’s case, it was heavily mixed with personal feelings. Since Yoon Younghyun had changed his main god because of Min Gongchan’s advice, there was no way he would think well of him.
Yoon Younghyun wanted to mediate the noisy divine messages ringing in his head, but from experience, trying to intervene half-heartedly was likely to just stir up more anger. He served a total of four gods, and that alone was often a headache.
Excluding the monk he served to control his werewolf impulses, the other three had strong personalities. Bedivere and Slave, in particular, clashed frequently. Even four was a headache, so he didn’t know how on earth Kim Yitae had managed seven or eight gods.
Yoon Younghyun let the gods’ messages go in one ear and out the other, lost in thought.
Given what Min Gongchan had requested, it was right to kill him if he became a monster, but there were too many things he needed to ask him for that.
‘If the one who destroys the world is Seo Heesoo and not Yaksha, shouldn’t he be killed before Yaksha? And what’s with all this talk about the Yiyicheong Training Center’s basement? Why does the thing in there need to be destroyed? Above all, what’s his reason for trying to protect Yitae sunbae, even risking his life? Is it simply because he has Resurrection? Or does he… Yitae sunbae…’
If possible, he wanted to believe that Min Gongchan would succeed in his Trans.
Didn’t he drink the Royal Vampire Blood because he was confident he could do it?
While his head was muddled with questions, he suddenly felt a chill.
Thinking that the temperature must have dropped, Yoon Younghyun hurriedly added more fuel to the campfire. But as soon as he put the fuel in, the campfire just poof—went out.
Yoon Younghyun shot up from his spot in a flash and put on a knuckle ring. It was something Min Gongchan had thrown him to use at the Otherworld Store, and it dramatically increased accuracy and striking power. Not only that, but as it was an elemental-type unique item, it could even strike spiritual bodies that couldn’t be touched by hand.
With this, he should be able to face even a monster that had drunk the blood of a Royal Vampire.
Yoon Younghyun prepared to fight. In truth, what he needed more than preparing to fight was mental preparation. He had to be resolved to beat to death Min Gongchan, who had been a person just like him only a moment ago.
He couldn’t be sure whether he was resolved or not, but the world wouldn’t wait for him. Yoon Younghyun saw something like a bright blue line surging toward him like a swoooosh—wave from beyond the crystal forest. It wasn’t hard to figure out what it was, spreading out to an unbelievable width.
It was Blood Line, an authority that only Noble Vampires possessed.
It was normally known to have a reddish hue, but for some reason, this one was so blue it made his eyes ache. On top of that, its domain was incredibly vast. The entire area was completely under the Blood Line, and he could feel all his abilities being nerfed. At the same time, his instincts as a werewolf began to stir.
Yoon Younghyun let the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end as whiskers began to pop out one or two at a time from his cheeks. His transformation was beginning, but seeing the circlet on his head emit light, it seemed to be functioning properly.
He had no choice but to believe Min Gongchan’s words that as long as he wore this, he wouldn’t lose his reason no matter what. He didn’t know if Min Gongchan had succeeded in his Trans or not, but it seemed impossible to face that bastard without a full transformation.
It was then.
A black shadow soared up above the crystal forest, which looked like a prickly thicket of thorns. What spread out wide were massive wings covered in a membrane.
The bluish-glowing wings gave a great flap. With just one beat of its wings, it crossed the forest in an instant, closing the distance.
Yoon Younghyun convulsively clenched his fists and took a stance to activate a skill. He intended to end it in one go, using the most powerful skill he had for a single-strike kill as soon as he faced Min Gongchan.
As he took his stance, the speed of his transformation increased, and his body swelled to a massive size. Normally, all the clothes he was wearing should have burst, but he had no such worries today. This was thanks to the armor he wore, also provided by Min Gongchan from the Otherworld Store, which changed according to the user’s form.
Armed from head to toe with gear given by Min Gongchan, he really didn’t feel like killing the guy. Yoon Younghyun began to doubt whether he could really kill Min Gongchan.
Wouldn’t it be better to just leave him stuck in this dungeon instead of killing him, and then find a way to reverse it later on…
A black shadow fell over Yoon Younghyun, who was in the midst of a fierce internal conflict. Yoon Younghyun’s eyes widened as he stared at Min Gongchan, who had flown right up to him.
Surprisingly, his appearance was immaculate. When a Trans fails, one’s appearance usually becomes distorted and grotesque, but Min Gongchan, on the contrary, looked devastatingly beautiful.
Even the fiercely blazing light in his eyes and his morbid complexion, so pale it looked blue, were decadent. Perhaps if he hadn’t been a werewolf virus infectee, he might have thrown himself at his feet right then and there.
Since that fact could only mean one thing, Yoon Younghyun opened his mouth, half in belief and half in doubt.
“…Min Gongchan?”
Min Gongchan smiled, and Yoon Younghyun sucked in a breath. When he smiled, he had the illusion that the world was going wild. It was an immense, dominating presence that was impossible to think of as human.
“That’s right. I succeeded in the Trans.”
Min Gongchan proved that he was still human, but Yoon Younghyun wasn’t relieved in the slightest. Even as an ordinary person, he had been armed with item power and had easily beaten down werewolves, so what would he be like now that he was a vampire?
And not just a Middle or a Noble, but a Royal at that.
Yoon Younghyun thought that a formidable monster in human form might have been born. Of course, he wasn’t foolish enough to say such a thought out loud, but he must have failed to control his expression. Landing in front of him, Min Gongchan folded the massive wings that had sprouted from his back and spoke.
“Don’t worry, no vampire drinks the blood of a Lycanthrope. The gamy smell coming off you already makes me feel like my nose is going to fall off.”
That’s a joke right now, right?
It has to be a joke.
Yoon Younghyun managed, truly, truly barely, to reply.
“Well that’s a relief.”

Growwwl~
Park Sikyung rubbed his stomach, feeling as if his belly was sticking to his back.
He had skipped dinner because he didn’t want to see Kim Yitae in the evening, so he was terribly hungry. Because he was hungry, he couldn’t sleep, and he had been tossing and turning until now, when it was nearing dawn.
‘They say Awakeners don’t die even if they don’t eat, so why am I hungry.’
Unable to stand it any longer, Park Sikyung stealthily pushed back his blanket and got up. He poked just his head out of the tent entrance and glanced around; only the night-lights with phosphorescent stones embedded in them were lit, and the inside of the cave was pitch dark.
Park Sikyung stared intently at the eating area, then tiptoed his way over. Then he began to rummage through the washed and stacked pots and the sacks containing ingredients.
“What are you doing?”
“Aack!”
At the voice that came from behind him without any presence, Park Sikyung jumped up in place. Startled, he turned around to see Kim Yitae standing there with a grinning face. Park Sikyung, half-startled and half-embarrassed, lowered his voice and growled.
“I told you to mind your own business, whatever I do, didn’t I?”
“It’s because you’re hungry, right?”
As if he knew it all along, Kim Yitae took out the icebox that had been pushed under the table. When he took out a container from inside and opened it, the smell of curry wafted out strongly. He had smelled this earlier and had been terribly conflicted about whether to just go out and eat.
“Sit there, I’ll heat up some instant rice for you.”
“It’s fine, I’ll do it myself.”
Park Sikyung tried to snatch the instant rice from Kim Yitae, but Kim Yitae heated it up with a single magic spell. He handed over the warm instant rice with a smile, and Park Sikyung accepted it with his lips pouting.
Mixing the instant rice and curry together, it was so good you wouldn’t even notice if the person eating with you dropped dead. The curry itself was from a pouch, but because Seo Heesoo had chopped potatoes and onions into large chunks and stir-fried them with butter, it was truly delicious. As he was gobbling it down, Kim Yitae opened a 500ml bottle of water, handed it to him, and said.
“Eat slowly. You’ll have to sleep right after you eat, you might get indigestion.”
“…I said I’ll eat on my own. Why don’t you go back inside?”
“I have something to say.”
“What is it you have to say?”
Despite Park Sikyung’s reply being not just cold but nasty, Kim Yitae’s attitude was compliant. He pulled over a stool and, just like that, brought his knees to touch the knees of Park Sikyung, who was also sitting on a stool. Having closed the distance in that manner, he lowered his head to look up at Park Sikyung, who was munching on curry, and said.
“I’m really sorry about earlier. I guess I was being too casual because I wanted to get closer to you. I made a mistake. I’ll never say anything like that again.”
Kim Yitae’s tone was so serious that he couldn’t say anything more. In truth, it was an issue he could have just chided him for, saying “why make a fuss over something like that between two guys,” and then forgotten about, but since he was sincerely apologizing, it was hard to be harsh.
