The water arrows fired by Seo-ho as they ran barely scratched the Kraken.

However, when Choi Tae-hyuk struck with lightning right where the water arrows had landed, the Kraken turned its head toward him—as if it had actually taken some damage after all.

While he held the monster’s attention, Jeon Ha-eun gathered smoke and shaped it into the form of a giant hand.

“They say squid needs to be beaten and dried!”

The smoky hand gripped a massive club. Like the Genie from Aladdin, the hand extending from her long smoking pipe swung toward the Kraken.

“Attack!”

At Jeon Ha-eun’s command, the club slammed down toward the creature. But the Kraken dodged at the last moment, and the club struck the sea instead.

Splash!

‘It’s fast… but I didn’t think that fast.’

It was moving almost at the speed of light.

The Kraken’s tentacles grabbed the smoke, but Jeon Ha-eun quickly dispersed it, only to pull it back together again into another smoky hand and club.

Seeing that, I called out to An Bom.

“An Bom, healing!”

“Yes!”

Clasping her hands tightly and closing her eyes, An Bom murmured softly:

“Whisper of Healing.”

A shower of sparkling light descended over the Kraken. At the same moment, it opened its enormous mouth and let out a monstrous scream.

“Kraaaah!”

“It worked!”

Now the real fight begins! Our monster isn’t going down that easily!

Just as the pop-up message declared, the Kraken quickly submerged into the sea. Since long-distance healing only worked when the target was visible, the spell couldn’t reach it underwater.

The ocean where the Kraken had disappeared was no longer blue—it had turned pitch black. It seemed to be concealing itself after taking damage.

“What do we do now?”

“Those damn gods… I won’t let them off this time.”

I was about to summon the power of wind when a long tentacle shot toward An Bom. I shoved her and Jeon Ha-eun aside and raised a massive wind shield in front of us.

“Guildmaster!”

Jeon Ha-eun’s voice rang out just as the tentacle slammed into the barrier with a deafening crash. Blocked by the wind, the tentacle quickly retreated back into the sea.

“So that’s how you want to fight, huh?!”

“Are you alright?!”

“Guildmaster, are you hurt?”

From both sides, Choi Tae-hyuk and Seo-ho came running toward me, having witnessed the attack.

“I’m fine!”

As I shouted back and looked toward the sea, I saw four tentacles rise at once—each one aiming at us, ready to strike. I summoned the same wind I’d used back in the Ant Nest.

“Everyone, gather up!!!”

Seo-ho and Choi Tae-hyuk rode the gust of wind I sent their way and zipped over to our side in an instant.

I turned the wind into sharp blades and slashed at the tentacles mercilessly.  But, just as I’d seen through Clairvoyance before, they didn’t seem to feel any pain and kept coming.

With no other choice, I recalled the wind and formed a protective barrier around everyone.

Bang!!!

The tentacle slammed into the barrier and began to coil around it, as if trying to crush it in its grasp.

“An Bom!”

At my shout, An Bom quickly clasped her hands and closed her eyes. A shimmering light fell upon the tentacle.

The moment the light touched it, the tentacle began to melt, loosening its grip before retreating back into the sea.

But only for a moment. The tentacle that had gone underwater regenerated almost instantly and lunged toward us again.

“This won’t work at this rate!”

Even when we struck the tentacles with healing magic, they regenerated as soon as they returned to the sea, where the main body was hiding.

We couldn’t win like this. Healing wasn’t infinite, and each cast was draining An Bom’s strength. The longer the fight dragged on, the worse it would get—and the Kraken knew it.

How would Aether clear this, I wonder?

“Let’s split the sea.”

“…What?”

Seo-ho’s hair fluttered in the wind I’d summoned, their eyes wide.

At first, it was just a breeze—but it quickly grew into a storm. I hurled it toward the ocean. A massive gale swept across the sand, parting the sea in two.

If the Kraken was hiding beneath the water, making it impossible to target, then—like Moses in the Bible—I’d just part the sea.

“Whoa…”

“…Guildmaster, didn’t you say you were F-rank?”

While Jeon Ha-eun and Seo-ho stared in awe, the storm surged forward, reaching the Kraken’s position within seconds.

“I can see it now—huh?”

“Eh?”

☆ Ae~ has donated 100 Mana Stones! ☆

Did you think we wouldn’t see that coming? Silly Aether!

If I’m the Water God, you shouldn’t underestimate me just because it’s water~ That’s rude!

We caught a glimpse of the Kraken darting swiftly to the left—completely away from the parted sea.

“That thing…”

“It’s intelligent,” Jeon Ha-eun said after Seo-ho, finishing the thought.

Our brilliant plan crumbled in an instant. But before we could even regroup, the tentacles came flying at us once more.

“Everyone, gather up!”

At my command, the smoke Jeon Ha-eun had released merged with my wind, blocking the incoming strike. An Bom immediately cast a heal, and the tentacles recoiled back into the sea.

These damn gods—when have they ever made things easy?

“It can’t be helped. Let’s take out the tentacles first.”

“How? They retreat the moment healing hits them.”

Instead of answering, I gathered the power of the wind once more and shaped it into a sword.

When I’d attacked earlier with wind, it had worked somewhat. If I forged it into a blade, it should be far more effective.

I handed the solidified wind sword to Choi Tae-hyuk, then turned to Seo-ho, Jeon Ha-eun, and An Bom.

“When the tentacles come, don’t attack right away. Seo-ho, Jeon Ha-eun, Choi Tae-hyuk—you’ll help me hold them down so they can’t retreat into the water. While they’re restrained, An Bom, hit the middle of the tentacle with your healing.”

“They’re strong in water…”

“They’re resistant to attacks, not restraint. Holding them down should be fine. Jeon Ha-eun and I will help.”

Seo-ho nodded firmly.

As the parted sea closed once again, tentacles came flying toward us.

“I’ll handle the blocking first!”

With a shout, I summoned another wall of wind to meet the incoming tentacles head-on.

Seo-ho summoned water, while Jeon Ha-eun gathered smoke to bind the tentacle.

But the Kraken’s affinity with water wasn’t just for attack—the moisture began to seep into the binding water and smoke, strengthening its body.

In an instant, the tentacle swelled and broke free, shattering the restraints.

“It broke—!”

“!”

Choi Tae-hyuk, who had been watching from the side, brought down a blade of wind on the tentacle.

“Whisper of Healing!”

As the tentacle slammed into the ground, An Bom seized the chance to cast her spell. A radiant light poured down over the tentacle near the shoreline, and it began to melt away.

The Kraken thrashed, but with Choi Tae-hyuk’s sword pinning it down, it couldn’t retreat to the sea. Dozens more tentacles shot toward us.

“I’ll block them!”

Jeon Ha-eun used her smoke to intercept the attacks. I joined her, forming another wind barrier—but the tentacles’ strikes only grew fiercer. Bathed in An Bom’s healing light, the tentacles melted away, snapping apart like severed ropes.

☆Oh! has donated 100 Mana Stones!☆

Nice block! You’ve got brains too!

“Kraaaahhhk!”

Before we could catch our breath, a shriek echoed from the distant sea. Choi Tae-hyuk wrenched his sword from the ground and drove it into another lunging tentacle.

An Bom immediately channeled healing energy into the one pinned down.

“Watch out!”

Jeon Ha-eun and I were still blocking incoming strikes, but one slipped through—heading straight for An Bom.

“I’ve got it!”

Seo-ho leapt in front of her, slamming his bow against the tentacle. With a sharp thud, it was flung aside.

T/N: I’m assuming Seo-ho is male for now, as the author hasn’t specified their gender. If there are any updates later, I’ll make the correction.

I blinked at him in surprise. Seo-ho laughed sheepishly.

“I may look like this, but I’m still an Imoogi. I’ve got strength, you know.”

Just then, the tentacle he was holding snapped apart.

“Kraaaahhhk!”

Choi Tae-hyuk cut down another tentacle, and the battle resumed.

Any tentacle we missed, Seo-ho took care of with a powerful swing, keeping An Bom—the core of our attack—safe. After countless exchanges, when An Bom was visibly drained, the final tentacle was finally severed.

“At last…”

“Kraaahhhhk!!!”

A shriek pierced the air, sharp enough to make our ears ring. Only the main body remained now. Even a creature that swift in water couldn’t move without its tentacles. All that was left was to destroy its body and clear the dungeon.

“Let’s finish this.”

“What’s that?”

Ripples spread across the sea as countless black orbs surfaced. They weren’t few—they blanketed the ocean, drifting closer with each wave.

“Is it just me, or does this feel really ominous? Maybe it’s because I’m not human?” Seo-ho muttered.

Almost as if in response, one of the nearest orbs burst open. What looked like a black sphere was actually a transparent shell—and something crawled out.

“Kraken hatchlings…”

☆These Days in Gaming has donated 100 Mana Stones!☆

Looks like it’s phase two! Let’s go!

The eggs began bursting one after another. The sea filled with Kraken spawn, surging toward us in a frenzy of waves and writhing tentacles.

“Guildmaster, what do we do?”

‘Just wait until I get back to the Divine Realm. I’ll show them what Ragnarok really means.’

Swallowing my rising anger, I spoke to my guild members.

“From this point on, don’t ask about anything I do.”

“What do you mean by that?”

Ignoring An Bom’s question, I stretched out my hand toward Choi Tae-hyuk, Seo-ho, and Jeon Ha-eun.

“Let me borrow your weapons for a moment.”

Though confused, they handed them over without hesitation. I took a deep breath and began channeling my divine power. Slowly, I infused each weapon with it.

While I could freely control the wind, I rarely used divine power unless it was absolutely necessary. Ever since I decided to live a peaceful life, I’d sworn never to use it again. But now, I had no choice.

Stripping away my divine power felt like tearing away a piece of my own soul. Each second of separation brought crushing strain to my spirit.

Worse, if they realized that their weapons suddenly worked against monsters weak to divine energy, they might start suspecting something about me.

Still, there was no alternative. As the divine energy settled into their weapons, my body grew weak—heat rising, chills spreading, and my limbs trembling with fatigue. But I forced myself to hand the weapons back.

“Now your attacks should work against the Kraken—and its spawn.”

“What do you mean?”

“I told you not to ask. Now go. Fight.”

While Seo-ho questioned me directly and Jeon Ha-eun tilted her head in confusion, Choi Tae-hyuk simply gave me a silent, unreadable look before gripping his sword and charging into the sea.

Seo-ho and Jeon Ha-eun followed soon after, still unsure.

I sank down onto the sand. The pouring rain made my already cold body even colder, so I curled up.

“Guildmaster, are you okay? Should I heal you?”

Though she was clearly exhausted herself, An Bom looked at me with worry. I waved her off weakly and turned my gaze toward the three Hunters still battling in the waves.

They were all strong—what had held them back until now were their weapons. Now, with divine power coursing through those weapons, they tore through the baby Krakens with ease.

Choi Tae-hyuk cleaved through them in single strikes, while Seo-ho swung his bow like a club, firing arrows in between. Behind them, Jeon Ha-eun formed blades of smoke that cut down distant targets. One by one, the baby Krakens were wiped out until almost none remained.

☆ Whoa… has donated 100 Mana Stones! ☆
Considering you just gave away a piece of your soul, that’s one hell of a decision.

☆ I love Aether has donated 100 Mana Stones! ☆

You’re not seriously leaving them behind, right?

‘Of course not. I’m not insane. I’ll take them back later.’

As long as I could still see the fragments of my soul, I could call them back at any time. If that weren’t possible, I’d rather die and restart than let them go forever.

“They’re almost done.”

The sea, once swarming with baby Krakens, was nearly clear. When Jeon Ha-eun struck down the last one with her smoke blade, the ocean finally fell silent.

☆ Already the last phase? has donated 100 Mana Stones! ☆

Damn, if I’d known, I would’ve made it go to phase five!

“There’s another phase!?”

No sooner had I spoken than a deafening boom rolled across the waves.

The Kraken reemerged—its tentacles had regrown, and two of them were even longer than before.

“It’s coming!” I shouted.

Despite its massive size, the Kraken surged forward with terrifying speed. Choi Tae-hyuk charged head-on, sword raised high.

The Kraken’s maw opened wide, aiming straight for him mid-swing.

“Dodge!”

At my shout, Jeon Ha-eun formed a massive hand of smoke and yanked Choi Tae-hyuk back just in time.

A spray of yellow mucus splattered where he’d been moments before—the same acidic fluid I’d seen earlier through Clairvoyance.

“An Bom!”

At my call, An Bom began chanting Whisper of Healing once again. A shower of glittering light fell upon the Kraken’s head, making it thrash violently before hurling a tentacle toward her.

I leapt to my feet and threw up a barrier of wind in front of An Bom. But maybe because I had torn away part of my soul earlier, the barrier wasn’t strong enough.

Boom!

“Ahh! Guildmaster!!”

I flinched as the tentacle pierced my stomach then grabbed hold of it, gathering divine power in my hand.

“Kraaaagh!!”

The tentacle writhed violently, melting beneath my touch. I knew I couldn’t let go. Clenching my teeth, I tightened my grip and shouted to my guild members:

“Hurry!!”

Choi Tae-hyuk started toward me but turned back to strike at the Kraken instead. Seo-ho, sprinting lightly over the water, closed in from the opposite side.

“Ugh…”

“Guildmaster! Are you alright? I’ll heal you—!”

“N-no! Heal… the Kraken!”

“Got it!”

An Bom poured healing energy over the Kraken while Choi Tae-hyuk, Seo-ho, and Jeon Ha-eun attacked from all directions. But the strength in my hands was fading fast. Just as I thought I couldn’t hold on any longer, the tentacle slipped free—only to coil around my entire body.

“Guildmaster!!”

“An… Bom… get… back…”

As the tentacle wrapped around my body, the last of my energy slowly drained away. Amid the howling wind, I felt myself being dragged toward the Kraken.

“Guildmaster!”

“Guildmaster!”

As Seo-ho and Jeon Ha-eun’s desperate cries drew close, I saw the Kraken’s massive jaws open wide—acid dripping from its fangs.

“…You… damn… gods… I’ll never… forgive you…”

Gritting my teeth, I gathered the last remnants of my divine power. Unlike An Bom’s gentle healing light, mine gleamed in iridescent, rainbow hues—the mark of a high-ranking god. With the last of my strength, I hurled it straight into the Kraken’s open mouth.

“Grrrk!?”

Light erupted from the Kraken’s belly as it swallowed.

“!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

In a blinding explosion that tore its body apart, I reached out and recalled the fragments of my soul. As the shards engraved within each weapon returned to me—

—everything went black.

‘At this rate… I really might die first…’
