“No, it’s fine—”

“I was lured into joining the guild with promises that they’d handle all the annoying stuff… but then they suddenly told me to become the guild master.”

Ignoring my reply, Emeline Kiyo continued her story, gazing wistfully out the window. Her blue eyes, translucent in the sunlight, turned toward me—brimming with indignation.

“When I refused, they suggested we settle it with rock-paper-scissors. One round, and… well, yeah.”

She lost.

I nodded, and Emeline Kiyo dramatically covered her mouth, feigning heartbreak. But the act lasted only a moment before her lips curled into a sly grin.

“So I got my revenge. Using my guild master privileges, I named the guild myself. The vice guild master doesn’t speak much French, so I tricked her about the meaning.”

And thus was born—

“The Annoyance Guild. I named it because they say a guild reflects its members… but somehow, everyone who joined ended up just like the vice guild master.”

Her words dripped with melancholy. Judging by the way she spoke, she was the only one who actually found things bothersome—everyone else was so energetic they were practically bursting with enthusiasm.

‘That’s kinda sad in its own way.’

Knock knock.

Just then, the wooden door—which I hadn’t even noticed was closed—gently opened.

“Excuse me. Our guild master is—”

“Speak of the tiger, and it appears. My dear vice guild master never disappoints.”

Her fluent but awkwardly used Korean proverb lingered in the air, but no one else seemed fazed by it. Was I really the only one who found this entire situation strange?

A French woman sitting barefoot on a sofa, cross-legged, speaking fluent Korean like a native—and another guild member just strolling into someone else’s guild master’s office like it was their own?

“Guild Master, I told you not to cause trouble while visiting other people’s guilds.”

“Seonhwa! This guy’s an F-rank guild master! His name’s Ji Yeon-woo! Isn’t he cute?”

“An F-rank guild master is not a zoo animal! This isn’t a sightseeing tour!”

☆ Zoo… has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

Did she just treat Aether like some kind of zoo monkey?!

☆ I’m Dying of Laughter has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

I like this unnie. If Aether’s not planning to keep her, can I have her instead?

Wait—hold on. You really came all this way just to see me?

And the vice guild master of the Annoyance Guild—who says things like that out loud?!

“No! I came to make friends!”

“Friends or not, please return to the guild. You’ve already skipped all your scheduled activities for today—what are you doing here!?”

“I hate interviews. They’re boring.”

“Even if they’re boring, you still have to do them. Nobody in this world only does what’s fun. Guild Master Yeon Do-jin hates interviews too, but he still does them well.”

Yeon Do-jin shook his head.

“Sorry, but I actually like interviews.”

“See? Yeon Do-jin likes them. I don’t!”

Clearly annoyed, Emeline Kiyo dropped all polite speech. The woman called Seonhwa sighed deeply and turned to Yeon Do-jin.

“Please.”

At her word, Yeon Do-jin reached into his inner pocket and pulled out a whip. Emeline Kiyo’s face instantly went pale.

☆ It’s the Possessed Whip! has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

When did that thing come back?!

☆ Last Time has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

It returned on its own when Aether was on the phone with Yeon Do-jin!

☆ Ooh, Thanks has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

Guess he sent it back while I was too busy managing my own world to notice.

“I hate that thing!!”

Ignoring her protests, the whip slipped from Yeon Do-jin’s hand, coiled around her body, and even sealed her mouth perfectly.

The woman holding Emeline Kiyo by the back of the neck extended a hand toward me.

“I’m Bong Seon-hwa. As you probably already know, I’m the vice guild master of the Annoyance Guild.”

“Ah, yes. I’m Ji Yeon-woo, guild master of Yeon Guild.”

“Let’s do a proper introduction at the Kanghyeon Guild Foundation Anniversary event. We don’t have much time before the interview, so we’ll get going. I’ll throw Guild Master Yeon Do-jin’s whip out the window.”

After a brisk nod to me, Choi Tae-hyuk, and Yeon Do-jin, Bong Seon-hwa dragged Emeline Kiyo out by the scruff like a sack of potatoes. Once the whirlwind of chaos departed, silence settled over the room.

“Will you be able to attend our foundation anniversary event?”

Yeon Do-jin’s voice broke the quiet.

Still dazed, I turned to him.

“Me?”

“Yes. Will you be able to come?”

“You hold an event on your foundation day too?”

“Yes. It’s just easier to take care of everything at once.”

Everything? At once?

Ignoring my confusion, Yeon Do-jin stood from his seat.

“I’ll send you an invitation to the anniversary event. We’ll need to make new ones based on the guest list.”

How extravagant is this event that it needs custom invitations?

And there’s really no need to make new ones just for me… not that I want to go. But I couldn’t say that, so I simply replied,

“Sure.”

“As for the sparring match, let me know what date works best for you.”

I nodded and stood. What was supposed to be a quick chat had stretched far longer than expected—all thanks to Emeline Kiyo.

Following Yeon Do-jin’s lead, I returned to the training room. There, I found Ji Yun-seo, now finished with her taming session, playing with the three monsters.

“Yun-seo.”

“Uncle!”

At my call, she shook off the monsters and ran into my arms.

☆ Yun-seo has donated 100 Mana Stones. ☆

Why does it feel like she brings a refreshing breeze when she runs over?

☆ La~La~La La~La~La~ has donated 100 Mana Stones. ☆

I want to play BGM for this scene. Her short, bobbed hair looks so fresh and lively.

Thanks to An Bom and Gumiho feeding her only the best, Ji Yun-seo’s cheeks had finally rounded out. Her fair skin and rosy flush were the very picture of happiness—and that warmed my heart. When I lifted her up—now a little heavier than before—her small arms wrapped tightly around my neck.

“All done?”

“Yep.”

“Where are Aunt Bom and Aunt Miho?”

“They went to the bathroom for a bit.”

Following behind Ji Yun-seo were Kero and her newly tamed monsters, all clustered around my feet. Tamed monsters were especially sensitive to their tamer’s safety.

Right now, they were calm because they didn’t sense any threat to Ji Yun-seo—but if anyone were to harbor even a hint of ill will, those same monsters would turn into a ferocious defense squad.

And among them, Kero would be the fiercest. I was proud of how perfectly she had awakened and touched by how hard she’d worked, so I leaned down and kissed her on the forehead.

“Hello there, little lady.”

When Yeon Do-jin, standing beside me, greeted Ji Yun-seo, she glanced up at him before turning to me.

“Yun-seo, this is the president of your teacher’s company. Say hello.”

Since she was still too young to understand what a guild or a guild master was, I kept the explanation simple. Yeon Do-jin chuckled softly.

“Hello.”

Shy around strangers, Ji Yun-seo dipped her head in a tiny bow. Yeon Do-jin gently took her small hand and gave it a light shake.

“We’ll be seeing each other often, so let’s make sure to greet each other properly each time, okay?”

His voice was so soft—so unlike his usual eccentric tone—that both I and Choi Tae-hyuk turned to him in surprise.

“O-okay.”

Nodding, Ji Yun-seo wriggled to be put down. When I carefully set her on the floor, the monsters rushed over, enveloping her in a flurry of movement.

Laughing, Ji Yun-seo hugged them all tightly. Kero, having been tamed first, simply watched with the calm air of a senior.

“Are you trying to win over our Yun-seo now?” I asked.

“Of course not.”

“Then what are you doing?”

Yeon Do-jin only shrugged, a faint smile playing on his lips.

“To win over Guild Master Ji Yeon-woo, I’d have to get past Choi Tae-hyuk first. So I figured I’d start by winning over the little lady.”

I gave him a skeptical look, but Yeon Do-jin’s expression didn’t falter—just that same unreadable smile.

“Ah, right. I have a gift for the young lady.”

At some point, the vice guild master had appeared behind him and handed me a small box on Yeon Do-jin’s behalf.

“What is this?”

“Let’s call it… a bribe.”

That didn’t sound promising. When I hesitated, Yeon Do-jin took the box and placed it firmly in my hands.

“It’s snacks—for the monsters.”

“Oh.”

If it was for the monsters, then that was fine. I accepted the box, and Yeon Do-jin gave a brief nod, as if his business was done, before leaving.

When Choi Tae-hyuk opened the box, inside were ruby-like fruits.

“Amethyst berries.”

“Yeah.”

Monsters would eat almost anything, but their favorite treat was the amethyst fruit—berries that grew on trees in the Fire Dungeon, a staple snack for tamers.

“Are you Miss Ji Yun-seo’s guardian?”

With Yeon Do-jin gone, the tamer who’d been waiting quietly approached.

“Yes, hello. I’m Ji Yeon-woo, Yun-seo’s guardian.”

“Nice to meet you. I’m Lee Jun-seok, an A-rank tamer.” He offered both hands; we shook. From here on he’d be teaching her, so I spoke parent-to-coach.

“How is our Yun-seo doing?”

“You said she’s S-rank, right?”

“Yes.”

“As expected of an S-rank—she learns incredibly fast. She’s still a bit clumsy, but she improves with every lesson. She also seems to genuinely enjoy learning.”

I’d been a little worried since it wasn’t a dungeon, but hearing that put my mind at ease. Her skill levels would naturally improve as she spent more time with Kero and the others, so there wasn’t much left to worry about. Just one thing remained.

“Teacher.”

“Teacher? Please, just call me by my name.”

“No, uh… have you ever considered teaching long-term?”

Frantically rummaging through my pockets, I found my last remaining business card and handed it to Lee Jun-seok.

“I’m Ji Yeon-woo, guild master of Yeon Guild.”

“Yes, I know.”

“We’re in the process of establishing a school—one that runs from elementary through university level. A hunter academy.”

Lee Jun-seok turned the business card over in his hands, thoughtful.

“I’m affiliated with the Kanghyeon Guild.”

“I’ve already confirmed that Kanghyeon allows dual positions. If possible, I’d like to invite you to join us as one of our instructors.”

“…”

“I’m not asking for an immediate answer. Please think it over and contact me once you’ve decided.”

“Understood.”

I’m not good at negotiations—or talking, for that matter. It’d be better to leave this sort of thing to a skilled negotiator like Gumiho, so I decided to have her handle the follow-up.

“We’re scheduled to open next year, so there’s no rush.”

After asking him to continue taking good care of Ji Yun-seo, I approached her. The training hall was padded from floor to wall with soft mats. They said it was designed that way so that young guild members—or combat types who hadn’t yet learned to control their strength—could train safely.

Unlike our still-developing Yeon Guild, Kanghyeon’s facilities were thoroughly optimized for hunters. When we built our own training hall, I thought I’d accounted for everything, but there were a lot of details we’d missed. We’d been hiring interior specialists to keep improving it, but if we ever reached our limits… it might be better to just sell the building and construct a new one entirely.

“Guild Master, you’re here?”

“Yes. The taming lesson’s over, so we’re heading back now.”

“Are you feeling alright?”

An Bom was still fussing over me. She’s the one who healed me—why is she the one worried? To prove I was fine, I tried hopping in place a few times, but Choi Tae-hyuk quickly stopped me.

Come on, I’m fine! Why won’t anyone believe me?

“If you push yourself, you could reopen your injury.”

“I’m not pushing myself…”

Their expressions made it clear they weren’t going to listen. Seriously, I’m fine. There’s no need for this much overprotection.

“Uncle, don’t get hurt.”

At some point, Ji Yun-seo had toddled over, looking up at me with tearful eyes.

☆ This Time It’s Aether’s Fault! has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

How dare you make Yun-seo worry! It’s Aether’s fault!

☆ Don’t Cry, Yun-seo has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

Don’t cry, sweetie. Your uncle’s a god—he can’t die even if he gets hurt. If you cry, your aunts will be heartbrokenㅠㅠ

“Uncle’s not hurt.”

I tried to lift the worried Ji Yun-seo into my arms, but Gumiho swooped in and scooped her up first. Choi Tae-hyuk picked up the cage holding the monsters.

“I can carry Yun-seo. Did it earlier.”

“That was then. Yun-seo, let Uncle rest—come with Auntie.”

“Okay.”

I guess they’re worried I might get hurt again. At this rate, they won’t let me do anything but breathe.

With a sulky face, I left Kanghyeon Guild. Unlike our own, which was only recently starting to grow, Kanghyeon bustled with hunters even near the entrance.

As we walked toward the parking lot where we’d left the car, I asked Gumiho, “Do you know anything about Kanghyeon Guild’s foundation anniversary event?”

“Oh! You mean the birthday party?”

“Huh? People actually call a guild’s founding day a birthday party?”

“No, that’s not what I mean.”

“…The day Kanghyeon Guild was founded happens to be Guild Master Yeon Do-jin’s birthday,” Choi Tae-hyuk explained as he opened the door of the black van.
