“Why Yeon Do-jin?”

“Don’t you think he deliberately chose a moment when I wasn’t around?”

‘Yeon Do-jin? On purpose? Targeting me? Why?’

☆ Why Tho?? has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

Why would Yeon Do-jin go out of his way to do that?

☆ Maybe He Didn’t Want Interference? has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

Maybe he thought that if Choi Tae-hyuk was here, he’d go, “No! You can’t! Be gentle with him!” and get in the way?

Unlike my baffled expression, Choi Tae-hyuk’s face remained firm.

“Yeon Do-jin is a dangerous person.”

“I don’t really think—”

“I haven’t said this before, but Yeon Do-jin is someone with nothing.”

Nothing? His family’s wealthy, he’s rich, tall, handsome—he has so much though…

Reading my expression, Choi Tae-hyuk shook his head.

“That’s not what I mean. Yeon Do-jin is a psychopath—someone without emotions.”

“A psychopath?”

☆ Psychopath?! has donated 100 Mana Stones. ☆

What does that mean?

☆ Antisocial has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

A personality disorder, apparently. There really is everything in this world. Emotions are basically an add-on when you make a soul.

“Yeon Do-jin barely feels anything. No empathy, no consideration for others. He does whatever he wants without hesitation.”

“Come on, that doesn’t automatically make him a psychopath. Sure, he’s wild and obsessed with fighting, but I don’t think he’s that bad.”

Choi Tae-hyuk shook his head again.

“You can’t take him at face value, Guild Master. He’s far more ruthless than you realize.”

But if he’s a psychopath, how does he get along with Emelyn Kiyo? He even called out to her with a smile earlier.

“The only thing that motivates Yeon Do-jin is ‘fun.’ And the only time he feels that fun is in extreme situations. He enjoys the thrill when his life is on the line. He doesn’t care about his own body as long as he’s entertained. That’s also why other countries request him.”

“Because of that?”

“Because he dives into near-death dungeons without expecting any reward.”

☆ Humans are… has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

Is he doing that because he can reincarnate? Isn’t dying scary?

☆ Nope! has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

Guess Yeon Do-jin is just built differently.

Unless you’re a god who can’t die, any human who isn’t immortal would naturally fear death. But he doesn’t?

“Right now, the thing Yeon Do-jin finds ‘fun’ is you, Guild Master.”

“…”

“You’re an extremely unusual existence in the hunter world—enough to catch Yeon Do-jin’s interest. He’s only acting friendly because he’s entertained. The moment he stops feeling that fun, he’ll kill you without hesitation.”

“He’d kill me?”

Choi Tae-hyuk nodded.

Come to think of it… when we first met, Yeon Do-jin really did try to kill me.

“He’s always been like that,” Choi Tae-hyuk said calmly.

☆ HolyCow has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

I got chills. Wait… so Yeon Do-jin might actually kill Aether?

☆ Didn’t Think He Was Like That has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

He’s scarier than expected…

☆ He’s Dangerous. has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆
Seriously—just like Choi Tae-hyuk said, dangerous.

When I watched the world from a god’s perspective, I’d seen humans kill each other countless times. But I never imagined I would be the target. Human conflicts were always just human matters. Gods weren’t involved.

“If Yeon Do-jin had decided today’s spar wasn’t fun, he would’ve killed you right there. That’s why he waited until I wasn’t around.”

“But he said he really had an urgent seminar today—”

“Guild Master. Yeon Do-jin is a spatial hunter.”

“He said getting permission was a hassle—”

Choi Tae-hyuk reached out and grabbed my hand. His hand trembled slightly. Still holding on, he bowed his head deeply until his forehead touched the back of my hand.

“I… can’t lose you, Guild Master.”

“Choi Tae-hyuk… even if I’m an F-rank Hunter, still—”

“Please. I’m begging you. Take me with you, wherever it is.”

His desperate tone made me nod before I even realized it.

“…Alright. I won’t do that again.”

Even after I answered, Choi Tae-hyuk didn’t lift his head for a long while, as if still unconvinced.

☆ Is He Crying? has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

Don’t cry, our Choi Tae-hyukㅠㅠ I’ll watch over Aetherㅠㅠ

☆ Like That… has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

It’s been so long since someone was this devoted to Aether. Not since that hero back then…

☆ Ah! has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

You mean Fluorin, right? Truly devoted.

☆ Fluorin has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

They’ve become a star now. You won’t find another hero like them again.

“Choi Tae-hyuk?”

His trembling stopped. He let go of my hand, stood, and spoke.

“I’ll come tomorrow.”

Then he left without showing his face. I simply stared blankly at his retreating back. Just as uneasiness began creeping up on me, a soft squeak sounded. Saphi fluttered in front of my face, expressing its displeasure with its whole body.

“Sorry, sorry. Have you been doing alright, Saphi?”

I reached out to the sulking Saphi and patted its head. Even while sulking, it still loved being petted, and its eyes melted sweetly.

☆ Aether has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

Now… won’t you heal our Bia?

☆ Our Bia has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

She’s still bleeding! Please heal her already!

“Oh—right. Sorry, Bia.”

I gently set Saphi aside and lifted Bia into my arms. Slowly, I gathered my power and breathed it into her.

An Apostle couldn’t be healed by any normal healing ability—only the god who created them could heal them. That was why I couldn’t heal her earlier.

If someone like me—who supposedly had no healing abilities—healed Bia, people would start asking questions.

“Bia, does it feel better now?”

“Meow.”

Maybe she stayed curled in my arms just to get healed, because the moment her body recovered, she wriggled free and shifted back into her adult form.

“You both worked hard—Saphi and Bia.”

The moment Bia left my arms, Saphi climbed in to take her place. With Saphi happily curled up against me, tail swishing, I walked to my room. In the center of the bed lay Kwon Beom-gaun, breathing evenly in her sleep.

☆ Well Done. has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

She’d have woken up sooner if a certain someone hadn’t made things so difficult.

☆ Aww… has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

She’d been in so much pain she couldn’t sleep for days, and now she’s finally out cold, sleeping like a baby.

I looked at Kwon Beom-gaun—sleeping peacefully just as the gods had said—then quietly closed the door. Because of her awakening sickness, I had been staying in an empty dorm room, and Ji Yun-seo had been living in the gumiho’s room.

An Bom had told me I could just stay at the house since she didn’t mind, but still, it didn’t feel right for a guy like me to live in a house with two women. Planning to finally rest, I headed to the dormitory with Saphi and Bia in tow.

“Hello, Guild Master!”

“Oh my gosh, Guild Master! It’s been so long! And—kyaa, Saphi!”

“Hello, Guild Master! Hi Bia, hi Saphi! Did you have a good trip?”

It seemed to be around the time hunters were getting off work, and they greeted me as they passed through the hallway.

“Yes, it looks like everyone’s heading out.”

“Yes! Guild Master, if you’re free, would you like to join us for dinner?”

It was a newly arrived B-rank hunter who asked, but I shook my head. Maybe because I’d run around all day, or maybe because I was just exhausted—I didn’t feel hungry.

“No, I’m alright. Could you watch Bia and Saphi for a bit?”

Saphi had grown a little more used to people thanks to Choi Tae-hyuk. But “a little used to people” basically meant Saphi didn’t hiss anymore. Saphi still wouldn’t tolerate being touched by anyone but me.

“Go on, eat.”

“Meow.”

“Kyuu.”

Saphi fluttered out of my arms and hopped onto Bia’s back, and the hunters squealed in excitement. Unlike me—always stuck indoors—Bia and Saphi often wandered around with Choi Tae-hyuk, and had apparently become quite popular.

“Well, enjoy your meal.”

Leaving the disappointed hunters behind, I entered the empty dorm room I’d prepared for situations like this—just in case.

☆ The Gemstone! has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

Right, the gemstone. I really want to know what it is.

☆ Yeah, Yeah! has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

Oh right, I forgot about it too. Let’s check the gemstone!

“Oh, right. The gemstone.”

I took it out of my pocket. Still warm to the touch, the stone looked even redder than before.

‘It almost looks like blood…’

As its color deepened from red to dark crimson, I activated Clairvoyance.

‘Clairvoyance.’

[Fruit of Luminium (Unmeasurable)]

– A fruit grown in the Supreme God’s Garden

– A legendary fruit that appears once every 1,000 years

– Filled with the blessing of Luminium

“Amazing.”

☆ This Is Actually Insane. has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

Why is a fruit that appears only once every thousand years here?

☆ I Knew I’d Seen It Somewhere has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

Ah—right. I must’ve seen it when I visited the Supreme God’s garden. They said it was incredible.

☆ That One has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆

In another world, they call it the Celestial Peach. If you eat it, they say you’ll live a thousand years.

Luminium, the God of Life.

Originally, Luminium had been a high-ranking god, but they violated one of the absolute taboos that gods were forbidden to break. Normally, they would have been stripped of their divinity entirely and imprisoned for eternity.

But for some reason, Father didn’t take away Luminium’s powers. Instead, He only stripped them of their rank as a high-ranking god—and forced them to do something no god would ever do.

As a result, Luminium—whose abilities were still those of a high-ranking god—was reduced to a low-ranking god and became Father’s gardener. The Supreme God’s garden was vast and boundless. Working there, a hundred years could pass in the blink of an eye.

Even though Luminium had broken a taboo, they were diligent and sincere, so they worked earnestly. Because of that, once every thousand years, a fruit infused with their power bloomed in Father’s garden. What humans call the Celestial Peach—a legendary fruit said to revive even the dead.
