The Only Woman in a Zombie Apocalypse Vol. 1 Chapter 8 - Isn't this a zombie story? (2)

Author: Nikss

Ian tried hard to calm his trembling heart.

Thinking it might be better to put some distance between them, he slightly moved his arm, but Dayoung squirmed closer as if telling him not to move.

‘This… is driving me crazy.’

As she shifted, the strap of her tank top slid further down, exposing one of her breasts fully toward Ian. His eyes kept drifting toward her chest—her pink nipple was barely hanging onto the fabric.

Ian forced himself to look away and pulled the blanket up to cover her neck.

‘Get a grip, Park Ian!’

That night, Ian stayed wide awake until morning, struggling to suppress his persistent erection.

Early in the morning, Dohun woke up and burst into laughter at the sight of Ian stiffly staring at the ceiling.

“Pfft—HAHAHA! No way! Did you not sleep at all? You look like a zombie!”

At Dohun’s voice, Dayoung stretched and opened her eyes—only to jolt upright in shock at the sight of a firm chest right in front of her.

“Ah! Sorry! I must’ve rolled over in my sleep. I’m sorry, Ian.”

“It’s fine… Things like that happen when you’re sleeping.”

“Was I too loud? Did I wake you? Sorry.”

“No, I was already up. I promised to help with breakfast prep, so I was trying to wake up early.”

Dayoung adjusted the slipped strap of her tank top and threw on a cardigan before excusing herself to wash up.

Meanwhile, Dohun wasted no time teasing Ian.

“Hey, you’d have done the same in my place. Don’t make fun of me now and regret it later.”

“You think I’m a virgin like you? I’ve got game, man. Unlike you, clueless as hell. Tsk tsk tsk.”

Clicking his tongue, Dohun shook his head.

“You just kicked away a golden opportunity.”

“Noona came to my side to sleep. I would’ve hugged her nice and warm. What a waste.”

Dohun’s loud laughter startled the group, who had been sleeping in the same room, and one by one, they began to wake up. They each called Ian an idiot before disappearing, leaving him grumpily straightening out his blankets.

A week had passed, and Dayoung had naturally blended into the group.

While her looks and figure were attractive, it was her easygoing, carefree personality that truly drew them in. Though they treated her specially because she was a woman, she never acted entitled to it, which only endeared her more.

The group strongly opposed letting her scout ahead due to her gender, so she mostly stayed with the meal prep team.

“Summer’s really here now. I wanna go swimming.”

“Sister, you wanna swim?”

“Yeah. Doesn’t this building have a waterpark? Sometimes when I pass the third floor, I smell the pool, and it makes me wanna go.”

“It does. They drained most of the outdoor area to turn it into storage, but the indoor one still works. If you wanna go, let’s go.”

Dayoung had casually brought it up while helping three meal members with lunch. But by the time lunch was over, her wish had become a reality.

“Here, pick any swimsuit you want.”

Dohun took Dayoung to the underground sports store on B2, where everything from workout clothes to swimwear was neatly organized. She wandered around, browsing the selections.

“I… kinda wanna wear a bikini… Would that be okay?”

“Of course! If you wear one, everyone’s gonna lose their minds.”

“I have a big scar on my waist. It might look ugly.”

“Really? Let me see.”

At Dohun’s request, Dayoung lifted her shirt slightly to reveal the scar. It stretched from just below her waist down past her pants.

Against her pale skin, the faint red mark didn’t look ugly at all—if anything, it added a dangerous edge.

“Noona, it’s fine. Who doesn’t have scars these days? The guys here are all torn up too.”

“Yeah? Then I’ll try the bikini.”

Dayoung looked over a few swimsuits before picking out a halter-neck bikini with thin straps. It was a bikini she had never dared to wear in her past life.

Back then, her figure wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t something she’d confidently show off. But now, perhaps because her body had improved, wearing bold outfits didn’t feel as difficult as she’d imagined.

“Noona, you’re gonna wear that? It’ll look really good on you!”

“Really? It won’t look weird?”

“Yeah! I think it’ll suit you the best.”

Dayoung picked up the bikini and a beach robe and headed to the third floor.

The rest of the group was waiting in front of the water park. Everyone had gathered except for Jihu and Jiseok, who were on patrol duty.

“Alright, let’s head in~”

The guys went into the men’s changing room, while Dayoung entered the women’s alone. Being by herself in the large changing room made her feel a little lonely, but she figured she wouldn’t be alone for long—four other women would be joining her soon.

Smiling to herself, she changed into the bikini.

After securely tying the straps around her neck, she slipped on the beach robe and stepped out to the pool area, where the others were waiting.

Seeing everyone in their swimwear, each styled to their own taste, was a little amusing. Some wore rash guards, while others sported tight swim briefs.

When Dayoung appeared still wearing her robe, the group’s slightly disappointed looks prompted her to quietly take it off. Her full chest, narrow waist, and fair skin made the black halter-neck bikini look stunning on her.

The top barely contained her ample curves, and the bottom, held up by thin straps, completed the bold yet flattering look.

The scar running from her waist down past her pelvis and beneath her panties was slightly raised above the skin, leaving a mark on the tightly clinging underwear.

The sight was undeniably sexy, leaving the group no choice but to swallow hard.

As she turned around to show off her swimsuit, her pale back, the panties slightly riding up over her hips, and the scar beneath her buttocks caught the group’s attention.

The scars didn’t look old—perhaps traces of Dayoung’s survival—making their hearts ache.

“So… how is it? Does it suit me?”

“Noona, you look really pretty!”

“Dayoung, it suits you so well. The best choice.”

“What should we do first? We specially activated all the equipment just for you.”

“Really? Then let’s hit the slide first!”

At Dayoung’s question, the group cheered even louder.

They rushed around, trying out the attractions—sliding down the water slides, splashing in the wave pool and lazy river, laughing and playing. When Dayoung briefly disappeared to the restroom, they floated lazily in the water, waiting for her.

The sound of light footsteps echoed, and Dayoung approached the pool. The moment she came into view, all eyes turned toward her.

Seeing her wobbling unsteadily, the group couldn’t tear their worried gazes away.

“Noona! Be careful! You’re gonna fall!!”

“Got it!”

At Dohun’s words, Dayoung waved her hand and kept walking.

As she neared the pool and dipped her legs into the water, the thin halter-neck strap tied behind her neck came undone. The small piece of fabric covering her chest slipped apart, exposing Dayoung’s bare breasts.

“Ack!!”

“Whoa!!!”

In an instant, Dayoung crossed her arms over her chest, but her large breasts couldn’t be fully concealed by her slender arms.

The pink-hued nipple peeking between her arms caught the group’s attention.

Struggling to stay composed, some turned away or looked up at the sky.

Flustered, Dayoung quickly spun around and tugged up the top of her swimsuit, which had slipped below her chest.

“Hey… can someone… tie this for me?”

“I’ll do it.”

At her quiet request, Minho, who was closest, stepped forward and silently tightened the strings for her.

A heavy silence lingered between Dayoung and the others, their ears burning red.

“L-Let’s go to the wave pool!”

“Yeah! Let’s hit the wave pool!”

Seeing Dayoung’s face flushed tomato-red, Dohun and Minho tried to lighten the mood.

The rest of the group eagerly played along, lifting the atmosphere. Dayoung, swept up in their energy, followed them to the wave pool.

They threw themselves into the waves, laughing and playing, then finished off by riding thrilling water slides before finally heading out.

That evening, the group reminisced about Dayoung’s bright, cheerful laughter at the waterpark, chatting animatedly over dinner. They recounted every little detail to Jihu and Jiseok, who had missed out due to their scouting shift, and the two listened, letting their imaginations run wild.

After all the excitement, dinner, and endless chatter, exhaustion took over, and the group turned in early.

Dayoung, too, collapsed onto her bed, tired—but sleep wouldn’t come.

You know those times, right? When your whole body aches with fatigue, but your mind just won’t shut off. Yeah, one of those nights.

Dayoung tried to sleep until dawn but eventually gave up and climbed out of bed.

Wearing a thin crop top and loose, short pajama shorts that barely covered her hips, she mindlessly made her way to the rooftop.

It was the beginning of summer, and the early morning breeze was cooler than expected.

As she wandered around the rooftop, designed to resemble a loft terrace, she approached the railing. Leaning against the tall barrier, she looked around.

Peering over just enough to see below, she spotted desolate streets and zombies.

A world overrun by zombies.

A world where only a handful of survivors remained. Though she had been here for a week, Dayoung had learned nothing new. Maybe she was supposed to go outside.

What did this world want from her?

In most possession stories, there was always a reason. Her thoughts spiraled endlessly. To distract herself, she began counting the zombies roaming the streets.
