The Reason Why the Forsaken Fake Returned Chapter 36
As Caleb’s tongue relentlessly teased her clit, Shailoh’s entire body tensed up, only for him to suddenly pull away. It felt like she was on the brink of something, only for it to slip away just as quickly.
“Ah…”
Caleb licked the wetness from his lips, shrugged off his vest, and began unbuttoning his shirt one button at a time. Shailoh watched him in a daze. Through her blurred vision, she could see his broad, rock-solid shoulders, expansive chest, and perfectly sculpted muscles.
“How do you like the view?” He smirked.
When she didn’t respond, his smile grew wider. Caleb playfully tugged at the tips of Shailoh’s hair with his index finger, urging her for an answer. “Do you like it?”
“…I don’t know.” Shailoh quickly turned her head away. The unquenched thirst from moments ago left a tingling sensation between her legs. Her insides ached and itched, but she couldn’t bring herself to ask for more.
As if reading her mind, Caleb grabbed her soft thigh. “If you want more, just ask, Sasha.” He whispered, caressing her smooth leg with one hand. “Say it like this: please lick, suck, and tease my clit.”
Just hearing those words, let alone saying them, made her mind go blank with embarrassment. Overwhelmed by shame, Shailoh shook her head. “I-I would never say something like that.”
“Really?”
Caleb pouted his lips, and as he began to sit up, Shailoh, driven by a sudden sense of longing, instinctively wrapped her legs around his back. His eyes widened for a moment, then quickly returned to normal. He gripped her inner thighs, spreading them apart, and buried his face between her soaked folds.
“Ah, ahn…!”
At the same time, Shailoh threw her head back. His long tongue parted her folds and slipped inside. The pleasure that had been left hanging moments ago began to build again. Her vision went completely white, and every sensation in her body narrowed to that one spot. The wet, squelching sounds and their ragged breaths filled the bedroom. When his tongue brushed a certain spot along her inner walls, Shailoh arched her back in response.
“Ahh, ah…!”
A gush of liquid spurted from her, soaking Caleb’s face. Her body convulsed, then went limp, collapsing in exhaustion with her consciousness fading away.

Hours later, when Shailoh finally opened her eyes, she was greeted by a face that looked as if it had been carved from marble.
“Caleb?”
Her throat ached, probably from all the cries she’d let out the night before. Rubbing her neck, Shailoh carefully turned to take in the man lying beside her.
Morning sunlight peeked through the curtains, illuminating his chiseled nose and perfectly shaped lips. His handsomeness felt almost unreal, like something out of a dream. The memory of that same face relentlessly driving her wild last night made her cheeks flush with heat.
“…I should get up.”
Just as she felt the warmth rising in her face and tried to sit up, his thick lashes fluttered open, revealing those turquoise eyes staring right at her. Shailoh felt as if her breath had stopped, freezing in place. She pondered how to greet him in the morning, but his sleepy eyes blinked a few times before closing again.
“Caleb?”
“Mmm…”
She called his name repeatedly, but he showed no signs of waking up.
Annoyed by the streaming sunlight, Caleb raised an arm to shield his eyes and mumbled. “Just a little longer. Eric, unless it’s urgent, later…” His murmuring trailed off into incoherent sounds.
Shailoh pressed her hands over her mouth to stifle the laughter threatening to escape. It was the first time she’d seen him like this, and it was both fascinating and amusing. “So, mornings are a challenge for him.”
For the past three years, Caleb had been her guardian, like an older brother, and her mentor. Even now, he was someone she couldn’t dare to see as an equal. But at this moment, in this intimate time, he appeared to her as just a man.
“You always tease me.”
Perhaps this was a rare chance to get back at him. With a mischievous grin, Shailoh reached out to playfully touch his face. But as soon as her hand brushed his smooth cheek, she was pulled into a strong embrace.
“Caleb…?”
“…”
Nestled against his broad chest, Shailoh looked up with an embarrassed expression. “You weren’t… asleep?”
“I just woke up.” Caleb, holding her in his arms, tapped her nose lightly. “Good morning, Sasha.”

The honeymoon-like night flew by in a flash. A late breakfast was set in the dining room. The two sat across from each other at the table, satisfying their hunger with a simple meal. The topic of conversation during breakfast was about Claire.
“So that’s why you went to that restaurant yesterday.”
“Even if Ines doesn’t act the way I want her to, there’s no harm in setting another trap.”
“It’s good to have multiple strategies in place.”
Before Doris could step in, Caleb took hold of the teapot handle and refilled Shailoh’s empty cup. Shailoh acknowledged him with a nod and took a sip. The fragrant aroma of the tea filled her senses, leaving her feeling refreshed.
“But I’m a bit concerned that Claire hasn’t made any moves against me yet.”
“As you said, it’s probably because she knows someone is watching your back and that you hold her weakness in your hands.”
“Still, is she really just going to sit back like that? Given her personality, you’d expect her to stir up some trouble.”
“I’ve heard she’s deeply infatuated with her husband, so she might not have the energy to focus on you. Or she might be underestimating you. Or perhaps she’s deliberately holding back, preparing for how you might act.”
Caleb leaned back comfortably in his chair, crossing his long legs and resting his arms on the armrests. His words flowed casually, but they masked the truth. Several spies were actually tracking Shailoh’s movements, and henchmen were actively working to harm her.
Caleb had assigned two bodyguards to Shailoh, not just one as she might have thought. When one was away, the other would take over. But Shailoh didn’t need to know about such trivial matters. Caleb handled it, ensuring there would be no issues. He just hoped that Shailoh, an important piece on this kingdom’s vast chessboard, would move as he desired.
“That might be true… Still, it’s a relief she didn’t inform the duke’s family. Though it was partly because we took advantage of a time when they were busy with the territory matters.”
“The Diponz family won’t be making any moves in the south for a while. They’re in an invisible power struggle with Duke Perus, especially since Queen Ingrid has allied with Duke Perus.”
“Given Duke Diponz’s opportunistic nature, it’s clear he’s supporting the queen’s side. But with Claire already married, there’s no woman available for a marriage alliance with the third prince, Queen Ingrid’s son.”
“Not entirely.” Caleb shook his head, offering a cold perspective. “For some reason, Claire and her husband still don’t have a child. Annulments due to lack of an heir have happened before and still do.”
“Maybe… that’s why she hasn’t told about me to the duke’s family.”
“That could be one reason. The Diponz family might, if necessary, choose a suitable young lady from distant relatives, adopt her, and present her as a potential bride.”
“Just like they did… with me.” Shailoh clenched her fist under the table.
Those people would create another victim, use them to their heart’s content, and then cruelly discard them when they were no longer useful.
“First, keep tracking the whereabouts of Baroness Boris’s brother. For now, that’s our biggest weapon.”
Without even having time for a simple dessert after the meal, Caleb stood up. “I wish I could stay with you all day, but I can’t help it.”
“I understand.”
She was touched that he had come to see her late at night despite his busy schedule. Feeling a bit disappointed, Shailoh composed herself and followed him to the entrance to see him off. As she waved goodbye to Caleb as he got into the carriage, a sudden memory flashed through her mind, and she called out to him.
“Caleb.”
“Yes?”
“Last night, did you happen to pass by with a woman in a carriage?”
For a brief moment, his warm turquoise eyes turned cold, but it was so fleeting that Shailoh wondered if she had imagined it.
“No.”
“I just caught a glimpse, but I’m sure—”
“That didn’t happen. I was stuck with work the whole time.” Caleb cut off Shailoh’s words firmly, then questioned her with a puzzled expression. “Are you doubting me now?”
“That’s not—”
“Sasha.”
At his lowered voice, Shailoh shook her head. “No, if you say it wasn’t you, then it wasn’t.” Since he said it wasn’t him, it must have been a mistake. Shailoh forced herself to dismiss the uneasy feeling and changed the subject. “So, when will you be free again?”
“I’ll come to see your next performance.”
“With a bouquet of flowers?”
“A very lavish bouquet.” Caleb gave her a brief kiss on the forehead before getting back into the carriage. “If anything bites on the bait you’ve set, make sure to let me know.”
Instead of replying, Shailoh nodded. She watched the carriage become a distant speck before returning to the townhouse.
