Dirty Sweet Baby Chapter 59
No, if it was Cha Moogyul, he just might be capable of that.
Or maybe not…? To be honest, I really didn’t know. I wasn’t sure. Lately, he did seem to be somewhat obsessed with Heeheon, but… even so, Cha Moogyul was not originally someone in whom Baek Heeheon could place conviction or trust. If necessary, he seemed like he could lie with a smile on his face. And in fact, he had.
‘…’
Heeheon gripped the armrest tightly. He felt an emotion that was difficult to explain. Discomfort, or perhaps anxiety? Maybe it was because he had been spending time with Cha Moogyul nonstop recently, but the fact that he had disappeared without a word was quite bothersome. Especially here at the main residence in the general residential district.
He’ll be back soon, he’ll come, Heeheon thought, continuing the conversation for another thirty minutes while glancing at Cha Moogyul’s empty seat. But his seat remained empty even after that. At this point, it was starting to bother him a bit excessively where he had actually disappeared to. Heeheon, who had been trying to hold on, finally stood up from the leather sofa.
“I’m just going to go get some air for digestion.”
“Oh, okay.”
“You must be tired. I wonder if we’ve been holding onto you for too long.”
“Not at all. I’ll just be away for a moment.”
Heeheon gave a nod of his head to the two of them and went up to the second floor. As he stepped up the stairs, a familiar structure came into view. The room Heeheon used to use was at the end of the hallway on the right, and Cha Moogyul’s room was at the end of the hallway on the left. And in the middle, there was a balcony, which was a place he liked because when you went out, you could see the entire view of the house’s garden.
Looking again, the white curtains on the balcony were fluttering slowly. The transparent glass door was half open, letting the wind pass through. He had a gut feeling that Cha Moogyul would be on the balcony. Heeheon slowly approached it. To be honest, Heeheon himself was a little puzzled as to why he was doing this. He could just think, ‘He must be over there,’ and go back down to the living room…
He would have to part with his mother and stepfather again soon…
He didn’t have time to be distracted by Cha Moogyul…
Heeheon changed from his indoor slippers to outdoor slippers and tentatively stepped out onto the terrace. On one side of the terrace, which was decked with wood and enclosed by an antique iron railing, was Cha Moogyul. He was resting his arms on the railing, smoking a cigarette while gazing at the stone lanterns in the garden. Wisps of white smoke scattered into the night sky with his breath.
“…You were a smoker?”
Cha Moogyul glanced back and stubbed out his long cigarette in the ashtray.
“No.”
“Then?”
“I quit.”
In the special residential district, he had never once seen him smoke. He didn’t smell of cigarettes either. Had he really quit as he said? Why was he smoking again now?
Cha Moogyul waved a large hand at Heeheon, who was standing by the door.
“Go down. Go and have fun.”
“Are you telling me to get lost?”
“Should I grab you then?”
“…”
Heeheon silently closed his mouth. There was quite a bit of distance between him and Cha Moogyul, who was standing at the end of the terrace. The night was dark, so he couldn’t see his expression well. His voice also sounded distant. Of all times, it had to be the night of a new moon. A pitch-black new moon night with no light. He stood alone in the desolate night that resembled Cha Moogyul’s eyes.
A cool, light breeze blew, shaking the curtains and carrying away the acrid cigarette smoke. Heeheon, who had slowly lowered his head, spoke softly.
“I’m going.”
I should go down. To see my mother.
Heeheon left him there and turned his back. The moment he was about to leave the terrace, a blue light abruptly captured Heeheon.
Cha Moogyul activated his power and snatched Heeheon back, pulling him.
“Ugh!”
Heeheon, enveloped in the blue light, brightly illuminated the dark surroundings as he was pulled toward where Cha Moogyul was standing. His eyes widened in surprise. Really, this isn’t how you’re supposed to use your powers. As his guide, he was beginning to think he should give him a warning, since he was misusing the power that should be used to catch creatures in all the wrong places.
“Stop using your powers so recklessly. And especially don’t use them on people!”
Cha Moogyul paid him no mind and wrapped an arm around Heeheon’s waist. Holding him firmly as if trapping him in his embrace, he looked down intently at Heeheon’s scolding face.
Blue light sparkled around the two of them as if the Milky Way were falling. Light flowed like rain, and sparks crackled. A succession of new stars was born in the night sky, as if they were wrapped in a small fireworks display.
“Are you scared? I didn’t mean to scare you.”
Scared… To be honest, it would be a bluff to say he wasn’t scared at all.
Even before that, Baek Heeheon had always been afraid in front of Cha Moogyul, even without his powers.
“Cha Moogyul. You’ll get in big trouble if you develop a habit like that.”
“My habits are already messed up.”
Cha Moogyul pulled Heeheon even closer. Their bodies completely overlapped. He could feel his firm chest muscles and the smooth texture of his suit. At that moment, sparks burst in succession, illuminating his face.
“And big trouble has already happened…”
His features, draped in a layer of deep color, looked as if they were being showered in light. His distinct jawline and sharp nose were contrasted by shadows, making him look believable as a sculpture. In his characteristic, intense eyes, one could see the tension of the calm before a storm. Surprisingly, it was an expression Heeheon was seeing for the first time. Amidst the seriousness, a depth that was difficult to fathom could be felt.
“It can’t be undone.”
After finishing his words, he curved the corners of his lips and smiled. Only then did the expression Heeheon knew appear. With a cool smile, he lowered his head toward Heeheon. His lips approached swiftly. Heeheon, realizing his intention, turned his chin in a fluster. He touched his cheek instead of his lips.
“A-Are you crazy? Do you know where we are?”
Heeheon struggled his arms, trying to shake off Cha Moogyul. But Cha Moogyul didn’t seem to have any intention of letting him go easily. Besides, his power had taken over the surroundings, making it impossible to escape from the start. He let out a languid, pleasant laugh.
“I won’t go all the way. Just a kiss.”
“You’re talking nonsense. Let go of me right now.”
“Provoking me… Do you really want to hear some nonsense?”
“No, I said no. Don’t you even think about Mister Kwon Il…”
“Why would I think about that man?”
A shadow approached amidst the surrounding light. He muttered, his lips still pressed against Heeheon’s cheek. The contact naturally caused their cores to respond and his heart to tremble. It felt like he had become overly accustomed to the sensation of being connected as one with him. In the taut tension, even their small movements and faint breaths were amplified.
“I said no, if we do this here…”
“If we do this… do you hate it that much?”
The scent of tobacco left behind by the cigarette, the smell of grass from the garden, the coolness of the night air, and his approaching intensity all mixed together and assailed Heeheon. From head to toe, he was restrained by him, steeped in explicit emotions like obsession or desire, and yet he didn’t know how he should escape. It felt like he was addicted. That it wouldn’t be so bad to be caught in Cha Moogyul’s grasp like this, that it couldn’t be helped, something like that…
“Don’t avoid me. I want to stop having to say ‘don’t avoid me’.”
Their gazes met in the darkness, and his hand with its thick knuckles lightly traced Heeheon’s jawline, turning it toward him. It felt like a tingling thrill ran down his spine. Heavy anticipation filled his chest, and his lips clenched in a moment of anxious resistance. Time stood still.
“…”
“…”
In that frozen moment, it felt as if the world had left the two of them behind and moved on. The thought of remaining as a preserved specimen alongside him, of being wrapped in a cocoon of blue light and staying with Cha Moogyul like this, came to him.
‘…Ah.’
His rough gaze and relatively gentle touch led Heeheon.
At the premonition of an imminent kiss, Heeheon gave up and closed his eyes.
An unavoidable collision. A disaster foretold centuries ago.
Heeheon had always run away, but in truth, Heeheon had no escape route. It was irreversible. His existence was absolute to Heeheon. The most wicked and sweet of them all took Heeheon without fail. Their lips naturally overlapped and parted, accepting him. In the end, it had to be this way.
Because Baek Heeheon was Cha Moogyul from the beginning, and would be Cha Moogyul until the end.
His raised shoulders slowly lowered and his body relaxed. His complicated and bleak heart also gradually softened the moment he touched him. It was a softer kiss than expected. Unlike his usual way of handling Heeheon as if he were his own, the contact was not very sensual. Fortunately, it seemed he really intended to just kiss him and let him go.
Feeling a bit more at ease, Heeheon opened his lips and let his tongue out slightly. He cautiously responded to him, kissing him back. Not rushed, but slowly… In Heeheon’s own way, with shyness and hesitation.
It wasn’t their first kiss, but kissing him now felt just like a first kiss. He didn’t know if it was because it was filled with a persistent, undying affection.
Slowly melting and being colored.
Click.
Just then. An unexpected presence was felt from the terrace doorway.
The dreamlike blue light vanished in an instant, and he was separated from him. Heeheon, who snapped his head around, froze like a stone.
Mother.
His mother was standing there.
With one hand covering her mouth and her shoulders hunched, she was staring with wide, round eyes, panting for breath.
